We got a couple birria tacos which were awesome and soaked in the flavorful seasonings. I recommend these for sure. The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned in my opinion. We also got a carne asada and carnitas tacos. The asada was a bit tough to chew unfortunately and the carnitas was good. The corn tortillas were tasty and made with quality ingredients. Finally, I ordered a green tamale but I didn't see anything green about it. Maybe it was missing the sauce? It was good and I liked the sweetness of it. I finally found the birria pizza! I heard lots about it and wanted to try it. We got 1/2 birria and half asada. It came with consume, salsa, and garnished with lots of onions, cilantro, and lemon. It was delivered hot and the ingredients tasted fresh. The birria wasn't too salty like some I've tried. Very tender and juicy. The red salsa gave it a kick of heat that made it. The asada was also tender and seasoned well. There was a char on the tortillas that added to the smokiness. I think I'd want some guacamole next time, but that's my preference. Their taco tuesday special comes with 5 street tacos that you can mix-n-match, plus a canned soda all for $8.99, plus tax. Take your grub to the outdoor seating or a small indoor corridor with some tables and window bar. Molded tortillas for sale. They don't want to give you your money back even with the receipt within 2 days. They argued with me even after I threatened to call the health department. They said go ahead, we don't care. You're not getting your money back even with your receipt. I told them it's only for a dozen tortillas that have mold and it's only $5, but it's the principle of a thing. Now they made me go down there and they blame it on the Tortilla company. read more

This place is legit for great Mexican marinated meats, fresh salsas, and other goodies specific to Mexico. We got a pound of pollo, pound of carne a Sada, and a big container of refried beans. In addition we tried 3 salsas, guacamole, and chips/tortillas. I can't say a bad thing about any of it. The prices seemed fair and the food was really delicious. We did not try any cooked items, but those looked great. The guys at meat counter were helpful. I'll definitely be a regular at this spot. Notable changes for safety during the pandemic include kitchen staff wearing masks, a protective glass shield at the cash register, closed off tables/seating area for their hot prepared foods and their end caps are arranged to where only one person can look at a time to promote social distancing. They still have the same great selection of authentic hot and ready Mexican foods, fresh cheese, ceviche, cold items like salsa and fresh vegetables, cooked beans, rice, sopes, Mexican candies and snacks, etc. They are not closed so stop in and keep their business running!! When I saw they had menudo I was down to try...got a machaca bkfst burrito for the wife and a quart of menudo for me. Although the menudo did not come with toast or tortillas I still enjoyed it. The staff is very nice, and they have a good selection of meats at market price. The machaca burrito was amazing, got to eat about half of my wife's burrito. I had no idea places like this existed in Tucson! Tiny little meat market. Meat is fresh, can be pre-marinated, and is at a fair price. The staff is so friendly and they have good recommendations for the type and cut of meat based on what you are trying to cook. They also sell cheeses, some vegetables, spices, and a random assortment of cooking needs. They have a seating area now! It is a super tiny area and it reminds me of Willy Wonka's closet, but it's better then what they had before. I've had their cabeza, shredded beef and carne asada and I am never dissatisfied. I can honestly say I've had the best burro's and combination plates here. Just one burro could feed 2 people and the combination plates come with tons of meat and three tortillas. It's also pretty decently priced. Today we had the carne asada and the texture and quality of the meat is super good, the rice has tons of spices and the beans have a mild chorizo chili like flavor. The service isn't terrible, it's just really busy. You can also buy tortillas, salsa, Mexican candy and a whole bunch of other stuff here. I'm excited to come here for breakfast. read more

We were getting ready for my mother in law's 77th birthday and I was put in charge of the taco meat. I have driven by this shop several times and not had a chance to stop in. The shop was clean, the staff quick to serve and it appeared to have an excellent stock of all the essentials. I passed by this Carniceria quite a few times and since it was such a nice day out, I thought why not bbq! This was my first time here. I've tried other Carniceria's on the east side and wasn't very impressed with their meat selections. When I walked in it smelled so good and it was very clean. It didnt have that meaty smell like other Carnicerias. They sell already made burritos and other prepared foods which gave it that great smell. I didn't take a look at everything they had on the menu bcuz it was so tempting and my bbq would've been ruined..lol They had a good variety of meats to choose from. I got the marinated chicken thighs and carne asada. The prices were reasonable, just like any other carniceria in town. They also have all the Mexican products you may need, queso fresco, homemade salsas, tortillas from local tortillerias... anything you need to have a great bbq! Some of the salsas were a lil pricey but I bought the Pico de Gallo anyway and it was really good. They had fresh veggies there too. I could've made my own Pico de Gallo and that would've cut down the cost but purchasing it already made was much more convenient! I love going here for lunch. I eat here at least twice a week. Today I ordered my food over the phone like I usually do and it was a new girl, it was a pain in the ass she had no idea what I was asking for and instead of getting carnitas tacos like I ordered I got carne asada not that it's that big a deal and there was a long hair in one of the tacos which is a big deal so I called back to let them know and same girl answered the phone and just didnt seem to care. The meat counter was busy, but there were 3 or 4 guys there helping everyone so I only waiting a couple of minutes. I order marinated chicken and carne asada. Great place, very clean, and friendly. Got a good amount of meat in our big bundle. They even let us swap out the meat we didn't care for (spicy). All the samples of beef jerky and cheese we tasted were awesome. Prices are much more reasonable then Dickmans (previous bundles purchased). Extremely helpful staff behind the counter and at the register. I picked up 3lbs. of carne asada which came marinated perfectly; it was about $8.99lb. Definitely flavorful and thick cuts of meat for the price! We opted to get their premade guacamole, cojita cheese and tortillas. Everyone was disappointed with the guac, it was very flavorless and more of a cream than a chunky, almost as if they used a food processor rather than mashing. I'd recommend getting ingredients at a grocery store and making your own. They also have a restaurant with limited hours, I will definitely be back to give it a try! read more
