Our so called skirt steak for grilling.
    Mary B.

Really bad experience this week. We've used Dickmans for huge meat orders for over 20 years for our company BBQs. We ordered 35lbs of skirt steak for Carne Asada. Picked up the bags, brought them home before the party. We would grill it. What Dickmans provided us with for $335 was scraps (too small to grill!) from all of their other meats in marinade. When calling them to get it straightened out,Zachary told us the manager would call us. He did not. When we called back and asked for the manager, my husband was hung up on. We won't use them for our parties again. We have 40 people to feed and a much harder preparation than we would have had if we'd gone to Houghton Meat Market. Mary B.

Ugly steaks to go. Traveled to a friends house in Thatcher Az. They said best steaks they have ever eaten.

#ThankYouThursday Grateful for all of the small town, family charm Dickman's exudes as soon as you walk in the door. Often a line, but their team keeps it moving. The "ugly" steaks are not to be overlooked, a thinner cut, but packed with flavor, just don't overcook. Looking for a specialty meat, they probably have it!

Always good. Nice variety. Clean! I come here for the variety. Their freezer section is stocked with all kinds of stuff. I picked some elk, duck and rabbit. Fresh meats are excellent. Nice cuts and variety. It was busy when I came. They tried to social distance. Parking was good!

So today I went to the other location in town. Not the the same level but still nice. Lots of butchers , one or two crew on two counters so a wait required. An order for 28 steaks was ahead of me too. So today Ugly Steaks , the best, chicken Breasts and bacon. Once I got help , everything went smooth. If you haven't done this patented cut of Meat you re missing out. Now, I buy no other cut of steak for my bbq. Secret process ! At least six butchers working today and they are looking for more.

Great meat and sandwich shop. Friendly service and they did not rush us. The steaks we grilled from here were excellent.

Ask the Community - Dickman's Meat & Deli

Do they still do ugly steaks? Didn't there used to be a store more north?

We visited 2 months ago and they still had their ugly steaks. They're pricey so we opted for something else that time.

Nothing better than throwing them on the grill with some of their twice baked potatoes (wrapped in foil).

There's no one to greet, nor a sign to state to wait to be seated. I saw a server and asked her and she lead me to a table. So, 4 stars for walking in. I was waiting on friend to show up. Our water glasses were filled and our server (Cory) asked if i wanted something to drink other than water (no). The place has a very industrial vibe and is very noisy (4 stars). Friend showed up and we looked at the somewhat limited menu. Cory took our orders. I ordered a (swordfish) fish sandwich with no bread and a side order of frittes (fries). Friend ordered the steak sandwich with condiments on the side. Looking around, one can see through the clear door as the butchers are breaking down the meats. There's a spot to shuck fresh oysters. There's a cooler with sides of beef and pork hanging and aging. along with cuts of meat, fish, and seafood. They had poke, different kinds of fish (amberjack which I've not seen outside of Florida)! There's a lot of wait staff, all in black with no name tags. The food arrived after about a ten minute wait. And the wait was worth it. The swordfish was done perfectly, juicy and tender. The swordfish was served with tartar sauce but it wasn't needed. The steak sandwich was just that, with the meat being steak worthy - tender and flavorful. The fries were AMAZING!!! Cooked in tallow, they were soft on the inside with a crusty outer shell. We ate every last one of them ((5 stars on the food). And 5 stars for Cory who was very busy but kept our water glasses filled and answered our questions. We talked to the owner for a bit. It was obvious that he has a passion for what he's got going on at this place. We'll go back for sure.

They looked absolutely mouth watering and were about $20/lb. We also ordered a Steak Frites to go and it was honestly perfection. The most perfectly medium-rare steak with so much flavor along with the perfectly crisp French fries. The baby bleu shallot sauce was just okay. The taste of fat was stronger than the other ingredients. But the fries were so beautifully cooked that you honestly don't need any sauce at all. Just enjoy their tallow fried goodness! Customer service was okay. Our order was handled quickly but our friend who placed the order felt uncomfortable in the space. Some of the young staff members were repeating her name and then would laugh and she felt a bit self-conscious because of it. There were also a lot of people in the food prep area laughing and hanging out, which didn't feel super clean. But, due to the fantastic quality of the food, we will definitely be back and look forward to hopefully have an even better overall experience

I stopped in and asked the lady behind the counter if they had Krakow. She said yes and pointed to a sausage in the case. I said no, that was not it as it was much smaller around than what I grew up eating, which (in the midwest) is around 6" across. The lady said they've been making Krakow for 40 years, and "that's the way people like it here", and that's that. I asked her if i could show her a picture of what I was talking about. She said it wouldn't do any good (to show a picture). She pretty much ignored me and went on to other tasks. I asked for a taste and she sliced off a piece. It's about 80% taste-wise of what I grew up eating, not nearly garlicky enough but close enough to buy a pound. As she was slicing it, she said "he" makes it once a year right after Thanksgiving and when it's gone, it's gone. So I asked for 2# and said I was going to freeze some. She said it would dry out when frozen so I only got 1#. Perhaps she was really busy, but she didn't seem to have time for me. She was pleasant enough with my requests but not very friendly. Not sure I'll go back.
