I came with a group one day for lunch. We were able to park in front on the curb a few feet from the door. Upon entering, we enter a cantina-style interior with shallow lighting which seems to mimic sun light coming down. There are several ceiling fans and TV sets; one was showing Mexican rodeo, which some may not like to see, so I recommend some discretion. Music was calm, romantic and easy-listening and the chairs were comfortable. Good ambiance The restaurant is a combination of ordering at the counter but served at the table by the kitchen workers; friendly service overall . Prices are high but worthy especially of you are ordering for yourself. I ordered crunchy tacos with carnitas which were not on the menu and is an offer mentioned by the crew. They were crunchy and had a flavorful yet mild taste of the shredded pork. The toppings by default come on top of the tacos, rather than inside. The tacos lettuce and queso fresco which I have no problem with, and the toppings are optional. One person in my group had the Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo and Egg and said the burrito was really good with tender chorizo that had a mild kick and the burrito was a well-wrapped meal and also split in two. Another person in the group had Quesabirrias and told me to say that they were DELICIOSO. Crunchy shell with, juicy tender meat. Bathrooms are clean a d easily accessible for handicapped people and all is good. I recommend locals to come to Carnitas del Bajío here in Los Banos, and anyone driving through or visiting for the day , I say drop on by. read more

I come into Los Banos about once a week and I was turned onto this place, by a friend. There's nothing I love more, than a good breakfast burrito. My friend knew this and we met there for breakfast. I was surprised how nice this place looked, as soon as I walked in. It didn't feel like I was in Los Banos anymore, but in a restaurant somewhere in Mexico. You'll be served by friendly staff, it's nicely decorated inside, tons of eating and plenty of beverages to choose from. Of course I ordered the breakfast burrito and had a glass bottled Coca-Cola. After we ordered, we sat down and before received my breakfast burrito, we were surprised by crispy tacos, chips, and salsa. They were delicious and almost filled me up, before I got my breakfast burrito. You might ask, was that breakfast burrito? Good? You better believe it was! Everything was fresh well seasoned and delicious. I'm definitely trying to make my way back over there, as soon as possible. Only thing that bums me out, they are not open on Mondays. Of course that's usually the day I drive through Los Banos. Definitely check them out. I'll be back! read more

The tacos were delicious. Service friendly. Salsa just the right level of spicy. Some tips since there isn't any information online about this location yet, hours seem to be Tues-Sun 10-8. Closed Monday (maybe). Bring cash if you can. There is a 3% credit card fee. Which is not really the issue, but there was no option to tip which was the bummer. My three tacos came to just over $7 total and came with chips. That's a great deal in today's market. The inside is clean with multiple tables. read more

The carnitas, buches and chicharron were well seasoned, tender and juicy! not to mention the rice, beans and salsas (chef's kiss)! the food and service reminded me of being with family, i felt at home. Bad service. At times the rice is cold and other times is las tortillas. The meat they use for the carnitas is the cheapest they can get as it does not have what the real carnitas have. Same as other places close to Los Banos, call them carnitas but they are an imitation of what the really carnitas are. Don't recommend this place as is always almost empty. read more
