    Smoked chicken nachos
    Nathan P.

I have been wanting to go to this place for years. I have driven by and smelled the smoker and all of the yummy food being cooked inside. As luck has it, we were returning from Ripon California, and I insisted that we stop here for lunch. While we were waiting in line, we spoke with a very friendly customer waiting for his food. He said that they are known for their Carnitas and that he regrets not ordering the nachos so we didn't make the same mistake. I ordered the smoked chicken nachos, and a Carnitas torta . The food was absolutely delicious. You know it is a real deal place because you probably will be the only white person there. Yes there are some flies but they just add to the flavor. This place is a five out of five, must stop when in the area .

Made a stop here on a Monday, the smell of GREAT meats being, cooked, smoked and served were in the air. My carnitas tacos at $2 per on Monday and Tuesday were the deal of the century. This place continues to provide tasty food at great prices. If you're in the neighborhood make sure you stop by. This particular location is my favorite. Only outdoor seating reminds me of the mother land. Do yourself a favor, have some El Bajio tacos, STAT, they are amazing!

After looking at the reviews, I was convinced I had to give this place a try for their carnitas. Upon walking in, I was welcomed with the smell of barbecue and instantly knew I was in the right place. The person to take my order was very kind and efficient. I ordered the carnitas plate as well as the chicharrons to go. Although the rice was dry, the carnitas were as good as everyone was hyping it up to be and the salsa + guacamole that came with it hit the spot. I would come back again to try other items on their menu but would skip the chicharrons next time because they were extremely dry.

Went for lunch and had the yummiest birria tacos. Also had the 1/2lb carnitas plate, and it was so satisfying. Portions are more than enough. Chips and salsa were warm and delicious. Took home a massive chicharon that my husband absolutely loved. Would definitely go again.

Family Meals is a plus. Lots of Great options and prices are very reasonable. Beef Birria and pork carnitas are delicious. Combos come with Everything.

Pure fat strips in the 3lb carnitas

So, i tried this place out for the first time. I got there & there were flies everywhere where the food was. I ordered a 3lb carnitas family pack. I thought it was a bit expensive for what i got-considering there was about a pound of fat strips in the meatsee pic below

I've been here a few times before. Close to work. Convenient. Good food. Service is fast. Monday and Tuesday $1.50 tacos. Patio in the back. Seats 20 - 25 people.

Torta de carnitas with Mozzarella (pizza cheese) #1 without rice and beans.

Hard pass.I was fooled I just glanced at the 4.5 rating maaaan. Can't trust no one Cold and soggy. Think about boiled mystery meat drenched in lard mixed with fat pieces(the nasty kind) and a hint of salt. I can't get past the unmelted mozzarella and the green stuff that they probably call guacamole ...ugh that's how cold my torta was. This is not carnitas...Chale, hate when businesses aren't proud of the food they serve. I did not put this in my body. Nimodo, that's what I get for not eating at home my mom would say. Save ur money guys!!!. Tortas ah lo güey.

Worth it! Walked into a very quiet, but colorful restaurant with only one other patron inside. The employees were so nice. We were told to pick anywhere, we were brought menus and instantly asked if we'd like anything to drink or if we wanted to look at the menu first... We asked for suggestions and the waitress offered the types of drinks they have. She brought us chips and salsa. The chips were homemade with a perfect crunch. The salsa was fresh, chunky and not spicy. The pepino cone limo aqua Fresca was the best aqua Fresca I've EVER had. Not too sweet at all and was SO REFRESHING. We also ordered an horchata and I was told that was just as good. The food... Where to start. We ordered an empanada and some quedabirria tacos. The empanada was HUGE, deliciously filling with fresh ingredients. It had great flavor. The quesabirria tacos were probably the best we've had. You order the amount you want. They are 5.99 each and oh so delicious. The meat tasted SO FRESH and flavorful. The creamy jalapeño salsa had a NICE kick to it. All meals come with radish and pickled onions as garnish, but eating them with the meal made it even more refreshing and delicious. They need more than one location, but until then we will be back! (Luckily, I heard they do catering.)

We ordered cheese enchiladas and chicken fajitas this time. The service was good. The waitress checked on us. We got seated in the garden patio and it was nice there. They kept it cool. The food was okay. The fajitas were served smoking hot with side of tortillas and sour cream, pico, and guacamole only. The veggies were well grilled and overall pretty tasty. I opted to not get beans. The enchiladas were okay. I didn't like them very much last time, and still didn't like them this time, either. We ordered the churro dessert. It came served with a side of ice cream and whipped cream. It was also okay. My visit to La Morenita was better this time than the last time, but still the menu felt pricier and probably won't come back. P.S. The chips and salsa were really yummy.

There was no lettuce, salsa, guacamole, tomatoes, or any of the other toppings you'd expect in a burrito bowl. I'm giving it 2 stars only because the beans and chicken tasted good. However, paying $23 for a bowl this bare is hard to justify. I even asked for salsa on the side, and it wasn't included with my order. For the price, I expected a much more complete meal. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing, and I won't be returning.

Tonight we ordered takeout: two chicken enchiladas with green sauce, all rice, and another order of grilled fish tacos. The first order we got home was thighs, not chicken breasts. We called, and they said they'd redo it; back I went. When we got home, the next order was the same thing. We checked the receipt, and they listed it as Enchilada Ckn Breast. My wife called and was told that they would replace it with one more enchilada. We explained, CHICKEN BREASTS! No problem. This time #3 was one enchilada with shredded chicken. When I picked up #3, I clarified with them that they mix chicken breasts with thigh meat...Yes. But you put "Chicken breast " on the receipt, and you charged me $1.50 extra for it being a chicken breast. The young lady did not respond; she just looked like a deer caught in the headlights. You don't treat your loyal customers who eat at your restaurant twice a week for over a year at $30-$46 per order like this. Especially in a town where we have no lack of Mexican restaurants. Something has changed, maybe a new cook (not a chef!). Maybe they were purchased, but whatever it is, the food quality has taken a nosedive. Take care of your customers, or someone else will.

It is a pretty standard local Mexican joint. It is very casual and family friendly. There is a small bar separate from the main dining room. There is also a large back room that can be reserved for special events. The decor was nice and the music was fine. We were provided chips, salsa, and beans. I was not a fan of these. The chips were dense and the beans were flavorless. The salsa was alright. It was pretty hot but wasn't utilized much because the chips weren't great. For my main dish, I ordered the Supreme Quesadilla with beef. It came with a side of beans and rice. I liked that the beans had cheese but I wasn't impressed with either side. The rice felt a little bit undercooked to me. The quesadilla itself was pretty good. It was very cheesy and had a lot of beef. I appreciate the large dollops of guacamole and sour cream. The service was disappointing. It took an extremely long time for the waiter to come and take our order. We were sitting there ready to order for probably 20 minutes or longer. Once we received the food, we did not see our waiter again. We were in desperate need of a water refill but the waiter never came by. To me, the service felt very slow and unenthusiastic.
