Back again for another breakfast burrito! We've been going here regularly for at least 25 years, and I love that they are consistent. Large burritos, my favorite carnitas in town, and reasonable prices. We've ordered everything but the fish options at this point, and the only thing that wasn't my style was the menudo. Tasty or waste? Not always tasty!!! The hardshell shredded beef tacos are OK. They should drain all the grease out of them after they fry them or the grease becomes overwhelming. They never use fresh avocado for guacamole. If they do they always add food coloring to it which grosses me out. I typically don't try a lot on their menu because in the past, I've been very disappointed. Their prices have gone up quite a bit since they first opened but then so has everything else in town. The nachos are drenched with cheese. Not the traditional type nachos buy good nonetheless. The folks that work there are friendly, and I see repeat customers in there quite a bit. This taco shop has okay tacos and burritos. I would never come here for tacos or burritos when taco trucks exist in the same area of Turlock. However I do enjoy coming to enjoy breakfast burritos. They are one of the only places that has breakfast burritos and they also are quite good. The staff is pretty nice. The restaurant itself is a little dated but it's clean and that's all that matters. I would recommend to come here for breakfast but not for lunch or dinner. I've had better tacos/burritos at Hogwarts. read more

So, there I am, living in a horse pasture outside of Turlock for four days, doing an event. The first night, I head out in search of food. I was going to go into the business area of town, where there would be a lot of choices, but this little taco shop caught my eye as I drove past the college. Looks like the kind of place I might be able to get some good tacos, so I pull in. Yep, it's small, and yep, everyone behind the counter IS Mexican. That's a good sign. There's a good variety of tacos, burritos, tortas, enchiladas, etc, on the menu. I order a combination plate with an enchilada, chile relleno, rice and beans. Also a fish taco, so I can decide if I want to bring my wife by later on. To drink, Jamiaca. The sauces were excellent, with plenty of cheese in both the enchilada and the relleno. Rice and beans were nice and hot, and the fish taco had a good size filet of fried fish with plenty of cabbage, sauce, and pico de gallo stacked on top. All for 1u bucks. Yes, I went back twice more that weekend, and my wife went with me one of those times. She liked the fish taco too. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for good Mexican food at good prices. But don't bring your American Express card. As the sign says, you ain't that slick! read more

How can i start this.....Here we go, today, I spent $56 dollars for 12 tacos that tasted awful‼ The carne asada and the alpastor were very, very dry. I ordered 6 tacos with everything, and here is the thing. alpastor only comes with guacamole, carne asada only comes with lettuce, and butche only comes with pick de gallo. Now, when you ask for everything on the tacos, you expect everything, lettuce, salsa, pico de gallo, and guacamole but no, you have to say supreme. That means the cashier taking the order should say, do you want it supreme? After you already mentioned you wanted everything on them. When i got home i noticed a different topping within each taco, which made no sense. We stopped in to this restaurant while we were getting some framing done at Michael's around the corner, on the plus side prices seemed reasonable and service was quick. The reason for the low stars? I ordered nachos with Carnitas, the Carnitas were pretty decent however it was hard to get to the true flavors of them because the entire plate was smothered and soaked in liquid cheese (I wish they would have indicated on the menu that it was orange cheese flavored sauce and not real cheese). And I couldn't get over the color of the guacamole, it was turquoise color. It was a hot mess from the get go should've returned it and never ate it. Indigestion for the night, my bad I had wished I had taken a photo. The bright orange cheese flavored liquid and the runny turquoise guacamole was something I've never experienced before. Hubby got enchiladas. Took one bite, had a spit it out the sauce was pretty awful. Enchilada sauce was something that tasted like it had been frozen and thawed over and over, tasted stale and old, then left at the bottom of the barrel scraped off and smothered over some tortillas with chicken in it.
