Staying at hotel down the street & they mentioned this spot when we asked about food in the area. Parking was easy, well-lit and plenty of spots. We arrived at 8pm (close at 9pm) - not crowded, friendly greeting by Hostess, seated quickly, and met our waiter. He was also friendly & helpful with questions about the menu. The dining area was nicely decorated & gave off an authentic vibe. I don't always mention bathrooms except when really bad or really good. These were really nicely designed & clean. I am an East Coast guy and not really familiar with authentic Mexican food. I would say this was probably more authentic than I am accustomed too, I was thinking maybe too authentic at first, but the more I ate my enchiladas, the better they started to appeal to me. I ended up enjoying my selection overall. I definitely liked the sauce. Wife said her Fajitas were decent, not as flavorful as she expected, kind of bland. The price was good for the amount of food you get. Overall between a 3 1/2 to 4.

I visited Elpaso last month and went looking for a good pozole. After trying few places this restaurant was recommended to me. It is not the hole in the wall place I was imagining myself eating authentic Mexican food at. It is a bigger establishment with a big menu too. The day I went there was few tables older folks having their breakfast/lunch The server was prompt and polite. I have nothing to complain about. Food was good but the highlight was the pozole! When I go back to Elpaso all I am going to eat at this place is the pozole! Up front at the desk they have some baked goods from a bakery... I tried to communicate with them with my basic Spanish I was not able to know where the mysterious bakery is at! I got a couple of alfajores... they are huge to share

Is not we are first time coming here . But usually we come for lunch not breakfast . Today we are try they are breakfast because they a a promo . Buy one get one for free . So we got chicken chilaquiles . Than who serve us asked if we want we egg , we said yes . Chilaquiles was ok . Not the way we like but defiantly won't order the chilaquiles again . When the bill come . We saw they charged $2.50 per egg . That the guy didn't mention about the egg have extra charge . So total we got charge $10 Dlls for 4 eggs . We were mad at that point . Because whoever was taking of us should mention it is an extra charge adding the egg . And unfortunately , didn't mention that to us . And the coffee taste like water . Doesn't taste coffee and cost $3.25. Is not worth it . End up I've to go somewhere to get a better coffee . Place is nice and good ambience . We will go back again there Bcus the food is good but not for breakfast anymore . And I hope they get train who do the serve . At least mention to the costumer have an extra charge and mention the price too before the costumer say yes thinking there are no extra charge .

This place was great, the carnitas were on point. We stopped in around 2pm and pretty much had the entire place to ourselves. We were sat immediately and ordered some aguas frescas. We both ordered the carnitas Queretaro plate. It was some of the juiciest carnitas I have ever had. Flavored and not dry and ample portions. The plate also ce with rice, beans, and tortillas. It was too much for Liz, so I had to help her out. Michelle was on the spot. She provided great customer service. Right of of Mesa St. It has its own parking lot and a full bar. I will definitely come again.

I really enjoyed this place, we sat at the bar to avoid the wait. The service was very quick and considerate. They made sure everything was good throughout the meal. I ordered the tacos de la tia, the ground beef was very juicy and flavorful. The rice and guacamole were also very good. The salsa we were given at the beginning tasted so good but was too spicy for me to get too much at a time, but that's a personal problem. They had some sports channels on that we were able to watch and the atmosphere was calm while being busy.

I love this place! The reason for the 3 star rating is because today we went for lunch and the Chicken Flautas were less than desirable. They were over cooked and the shredded chicken was very dry, I had to battle with the flauta to get a bite...we told the waiter and he was very apologetic and said he would take it off our bill and offered me something else, which I refused since I had lost my appetite. Interesting that the reason he stated for the removal of the Flauta plate is because "customer didn't like it", which is partially wrong, I didn't like it because it was overcooked and the chicken was dry. Carnitas Queretaro perhaps it's time for a Quality Audit of your menu selections and cooks! Overall, their food is very good, however was dissatisfied today, hopefully next time it's better!

Chicken fajitas and stake fajitas both are so amazingly delicious and worth the trip. I will be back.

Chicken fajitas and steak fajitas both of them are worth the trip amazingly wonderfully good. Divine, I will be back.

Decent food at an incredible price with good service and bad coffee. That's about the best sum up I can give. My friend and I came here so breakfast and little did we know but it was a 2 for 1 special for breakfast. Both of our plates, including my friend's coffee, came out to just over $13. Even if the food is just decent, that deserves a return in an of itself. I ordered the huevos divorciados with over easy eggs and it was just alright. The sauce was already kind of just lukewarm when it came out and didn't pack much flavor. The refried beans tasted like your basic run of the mill beans but they also weren't bad which I'm grateful for because you can easily mess up refried beans in my opinion. The coffee we ordered tasted like watered down dirt water. Not even an exaggeration. The reason we were able to drink it (we are both coffee snobs to certain degrees) is because it barely had any flavor at all. This is actually what brought this restaurant down to 3 stars for me. Overall, it was just overall okay. I would probably only suggest going if the 2 for 1 deal is on and I would try other items because ours were just okay.

    Enchiladas Suizas

We ate at Carnitas Queretaro for the first time with friends a few weeks ago, and we had a really good experience! After sitting down we were brought chips & salsa, which is always a huge plus. I ordered the Enchiladas Suizas, which are chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce topped with sour cream and avocado with a side of either rice, refried beans, or charro beans. I thought the chicken inside the enchiladas was about average, but I really liked the sauce and having fresh avocado on the side. We ordered the flan to go, and I was very pleasantly surprised - it was so soft & creamy! For sure one of the best versions I've had. We also got the churros which were tasty, but I would recommend trying the flan as it really stood out.

First off let's start with our server Juan was great. Great suggestions great personality. The food was so much better than in Virginia. Very flavorful. The beans are so good and the guacamole was creamy and very flavorful. A great first meal in El Paso. Enjoy!!!

I had just flown in from the airport, and my brother arranged it as a special family gathering. Everything started normally: we were seated, ordered our food, received our drinks, and enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. Then my sister (who is LGBTQ+) stepped away to use the restroom. When she returned and sat down, a manager approached our table and loudly told her--in front of other diners--that "MEN cannot use the female restroom." My sister was mortified and humiliated by the public confrontation. The manager's tone and assumption were shocking and clearly discriminatory. We immediately got up and left without eating. This wasn't about enforcing any legitimate policy; it was rude, insensitive, and targeted. My adult sister is perfectly capable of reading the restroom signs herself--no one needed to police or shame her in such a way. The incident felt rooted in homophobia and transphobia from management. We will never return to this place, and we will actively discourage others--especially LGBTQ+ individuals and allies--from patronizing it. What should have been a joyful family milestone was ruined by bigotry. Avoid this establishment if you value respect and inclusivity.

Unfortunately, that loyalty came to an end after a recent experience that was both disappointing and unacceptable. My family and I chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Every guest paid separately, and there were no issues during the evening itself. However, as the event concluded, multiple attendees, including family members and in-laws, overheard servers making derogatory comments about our party. Among the remarks were that we were "ungrateful," "cheap," and "broke," along with other inappropriate comments that no customer should ever have to hear. I brought the matter to the attention of ownership, hoping for a meaningful resolution. While I was told the employees had been reprimanded, the proposed remedy was a $25 gift card. After nearly 18 years of patronage, the response felt dismissive and only added insult to injury. What disappoints me most is not simply the behavior of the staff, but the lack of accountability and concern shown afterward. This was a place I once considered a reliable and welcoming destination for family gatherings and celebrations. Sadly, that trust has been lost. As a result, I will no longer be returning or recommending this establishment to friends, family, or colleagues. Respect for customers should be a fundamental part of any hospitality business, and in this case, that standard was not met.
