Delicious Mexican food, humble prices and close to home. Perfect restaurant to take the family.

Pretty disappointing today. My side of sausage links were bad with a very strange taste. My wife's green chile enchiladas with onions came with no onions and no green chiles. The bacon & egg burrito they brought to replace my sausage was horribly bland. Since I sent the sausage back I was not charged for it but there was nothing offered complementary. I paid full price for the burrito. Well, at least the coffee was drinkable.

The enchiladas are wonderful, covered in cheese very tasty, the flautas, lots of meat. I've missed this place

The enchiladas are covered in cheese, tasty and the flautas crisp and full of meat. Service was quick, great place to take out or to eat in. It took me a while to find this place because it's been over 25 years since I've been here I love it.

Few Restaurants become icons in the food industry, Rincon de Cortez is one of them. This is REAL AND AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD. This time we eat breakfast but you must try their Comida Corrida (Mexican Lunch) you must come early around 11.50am-12pm to enjoy the Caldo (Mexican Soup) ... anyway today we enjoy Picadillo with Eggs and Red Chilaquiles with Beef bites and over easy eggs ... both very good and tasty. Great Job Rincon de Cortez in keeping good and service for so many years

HELLSSSSSSSS YES! My Westside search for the best Mexican is over! First, a million thank yous to Luis-armando A for the recommendation. Luis definitely knows his stuff and I would appreciate if any and all people reading this review would bombard him with a ridiculous amount of "Thank You" compliments (link at the bottom!). He recommended, I went. Walking in, I didn't think much about the place. It just has a typical Mexican eatery look to it, lots of green and yellow. But one thing that did impress me initially was the size. El Rincon has three separate dining rooms...that's saying something. My waitress, whose name I never caught, didn't immediately come over, but she was covering at least half the other tables. When she did come over, she immediately handed me a menu and took my drink order. The menu isn't too large, but it does have a good amount of options so I ended up asking for a couple more minutes a few times. Patience is definitely a virtue and not many people have it, but the waitress was super cool about it and gave me time. Eventually I came to the decision of a dish (that I completely forgot the name of, but I do know it was #4). Enchiladas, flautas, carne con chile, a tostada, rice and beans...and it was all for under $10! That's a heck of a steal. I came in for breakfast so I had to request the chips and salsa. You can tell a lot about a Mexican restaurant by what kind of chips and salsa they serve. They were good though. I'm not sure if they make the chips themselves, but they were pure salty goodness and the salsa was HOTT (with two t's) and delicious. My plate arrived and I'm not going to lie I was a tad bit displeased. All that was on the plate was beans, rice, and two enchiladas. Whenever my order is messed up, I usually just zip it. I've seen Waiting... Keeping my mouth shut happened to work out for the better because had I said something I would have looked like a complete a-hole. The waitress returned with a second plate. That's right, my less-than-ten-dollars meal took two full plates. My eyes may have been bigger than my stomach, but I finished almost all of it. And here we are, one food baby later, I can happily say ERDC is my Westside Mexican restaurant home! *Link to the amazingly awesome Luis: http://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=bzKZv5-dcTNf_XJ33jaTOg

Service was horrendous!!! My plate came out ok but my girlfriend's plate was otherwise. The huevos rancheros plate she ordered came out cold and didn't taste good. My GF told this to our waitress and she took it back to the kitchen. All that was down was more Chile con queso was added! The taste still didn't taste good and we brought it up to our waitress and the waitress's response was you can order something else but without a good enough reason to send it back you'll have to pay. The manager agreed not to charge us for her plate after putting up the same arguement with her. I guess customer satisfaction isn't priority number one.

I'm from East Texas and have been trying to find a great Mexican food restaurant in El Paso. I think I found one Saturday. Someone gave me a recommendation for this place. And they were spot on. Great food. Good size portions. Reasonable prices. This was thE best plate I've had in El Paso so far! Beef enchiladas w queso topping! I'll be back for sure soon!

I've been a loyal customer of this establishment since 2008. While the food was never the primary…read morereason I returned, the excellent margaritas and outstanding service kept me coming back for nearly two decades. Unfortunately, that loyalty came to an end after a recent experience that was both disappointing and unacceptable. My family and I chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Every guest paid separately, and there were no issues during the evening itself. However, as the event concluded, multiple attendees, including family members and in-laws, overheard servers making derogatory comments about our party. Among the remarks were that we were "ungrateful," "cheap," and "broke," along with other inappropriate comments that no customer should ever have to hear. I brought the matter to the attention of ownership, hoping for a meaningful resolution. While I was told the employees had been reprimanded, the proposed remedy was a $25 gift card. After nearly 18 years of patronage, the response felt dismissive and only added insult to injury. What disappoints me most is not simply the behavior of the staff, but the lack of accountability and concern shown afterward. This was a place I once considered a reliable and welcoming destination for family gatherings and celebrations. Sadly, that trust has been lost. As a result, I will no longer be returning or recommending this establishment to friends, family, or colleagues. Respect for customers should be a fundamental part of any hospitality business, and in this case, that standard was not met.

The food arrived within about 10 minutes for our group of six, which was impressive. The complimentary fried tortillas were very good, and the salsa was enjoyable as well. I ordered al pastor tacos. The flavor was good, but the meat was very dry. I liked the portion size, especially the amount of meat, but it would have been excellent if it were not so dry.

About 8 large chile toreados, grilled onions.and plenty of corn tortillas. The charro beans were mostly bean soup. I actually poured some of the bean soup into a bowl so we could serve ourselves to avoid some spilling. The baked potatoes were generously bathed in butter. They did not provide any other toppings for the potatoes. Personally I think some sour cream, or Mexican crema de la Mesa, some chives, some other toppings would have been nice. The queso fundido was good but also a disappointment. It was missing the chorizo that I had paid extra for. The meat was very good. Well done but not dry or hard to chew. I was pleased to see that the chicken was not cooked into dryness. We did come across a couple of meat grisel or what in Spanish is called "nervio". This place has a small sign that states that if you pay with a credit card a 3% service charge will be added to your bill. I am pretty good with math and I pointed out to the cashier that they actually charge 4%. He did make a correction on my bill. Be ware of your bill. Otherwise they do give you plenty of food. It reminds me of a Mexican parrillada/ grilled cook out. The food here was very good, good tasting, and in spite of the small glitches worth it. We will be returning again.

Looking back, El Cometa is what started my taco obsession. Their tacos al pastor con queso are so good. The marinated pork is perfectly seasoned, a little greasy in the best way, and topped with melted cheese. One thing I love is their salsa bar. I always grab the red salsa, green salsa, and guacamole. I pile all three on my tacos, and every bite is amazing. Their tacos remind me of my favorite tacos at the resort my family visited every summer in Cancún. Even though it has been years since I have been there, El Cometa brings those memories back with every bite. The staff is incredible. Last summer, the hostess recognized me right away and seated me immediately. She even remembered my order. I order the exact same thing every visit: tacos and two cans of Sprite. The fact that she has been there since I first started coming in 2019 makes every visit feel like coming home. From 2019 until I moved away in 2022, I went there almost every week.
