New restaurant to us when we visited Tucson. The food was delicious and lots of choices n the menu. I however came in to get my Sonoran dog fix while in town, and they didn't let me down. Pretty disappointing today. My side of sausage links were bad with a very strange taste. My wife's green chile enchiladas with onions came with no onions and no green chiles. The bacon & egg burrito they brought to replace my sausage was horribly bland. Since I sent the sausage back I was not charged for it but there was nothing offered complementary. I paid full price for the burrito. Well, at least the coffee was drinkable. read more

Nice staff but terrible food. My brother and I ordered two different steak plates and they tasted like grease. The meat was dry and chewy. When we told the staff, they simply said (in Spanish) no one else has complained yet. No apology or helpful questions. Left them a decent tip because I don't think they knew better and weren't trained properly. I would not recommend this place at all. Don't Order The Meat... This time we eat breakfast but you must try their Comida Corrida (Mexican Lunch) you must come early around 11.50am-12pm to enjoy the Caldo (Mexican Soup) ... anyway today we enjoy Picadillo with Eggs and Red Chilaquiles with Beef bites and over easy eggs ... both very good and tasty. HELLSSSSSSSS YES! My Westside search for the best Mexican is over! First, a million thank yous to Luis-armando A for the recommendation. Luis definitely knows his stuff and I would appreciate if any and all people reading this review would bombard him with a ridiculous amount of "Thank You" compliments (link at the bottom!). He recommended, I went. Walking in, I didn't think much about the place. It just has a typical Mexican eatery look to it, lots of green and yellow. But one thing that did impress me initially was the size. El Rincon has three separate dining rooms...that's saying something. My waitress, whose name I never caught, didn't immediately come over, but she was covering at least half the other tables. When she did come over, she immediately handed me a menu and took my drink order. The menu isn't too large, but it does have a good amount of options so I ended up asking for a couple more minutes a few times. Patience is definitely a virtue and not many people have it, but the waitress was super cool about it and gave me time. Eventually I came to the decision of a dish (that I completely forgot the name of, but I do know it was #4). Enchiladas, flautas, carne con chile, a tostada, rice and beans...and it was all for under $10! That's a heck of a steal. I came in for breakfast so I had to request the chips and salsa. You can tell a lot about a Mexican restaurant by what kind of chips and salsa they serve. They were good though. I'm not sure if they make the chips themselves, but they were pure salty goodness and the salsa was HOTT (with two t's) and delicious. My plate arrived and I'm not going to lie I was a tad bit displeased. All that was on the plate was beans, rice, and two enchiladas. Whenever my order is messed up, I usually just zip it. I've seen Waiting... Keeping my mouth shut happened to work out for the better because had I said something I would have looked like a complete a-hole. The waitress returned with a second plate. That's right, my less-than-ten-dollars meal took two full plates. My eyes may have been bigger than my stomach, but I finished almost all of it. If I could I'd give no stars. Was a regular customer before the pandemic but they have been declining in quality since 2020. I was still getting take out but every time they would screw up the order. Today I picked up 3 burritos. I specifically asked for the hash browns to be cooked crispy because every time I've ordered, the potatoes are almost raw. I asked the young lady if she made sure the potatoes were cooked and she said yes. Well, not only were the potatoes not cooked but they were dripping with grease. A total waste of money! Two words. Huevos Rancheros. Everything here is amazing, but the huevos rancheros is where it's at. During a four day visit in El Paso, we went to El Rincon twice. The servers there are warm and kind, and the food is the most classic Mexican cuisine you can ask for. read more

Service was horrendous!!! My plate came out ok but my girlfriend's plate was otherwise. The huevos rancheros plate she ordered came out cold and didn't taste good. My GF told this to our waitress and she took it back to the kitchen. All that was down was more Chile con queso was added! The taste still didn't taste good and we brought it up to our waitress and the waitress's response was you can order something else but without a good enough reason to send it back you'll have to pay. The manager agreed not to charge us for her plate after putting up the same arguement with her. I guess customer satisfaction isn't priority number one. read more

This review is a long time coming. I have been a twice a week customer for years, not just because the food is good (solid 6 out of 10) but because it is simply five minutes away. However, I believe it is only fair as a consumer to share my experiences with others. The one star rating comes down to customer service. Nothing bothers me more than when establishments hire employees that refuse to speak English. Not only is it unfair to the English speaking customer but to establishment as the likelihood of error immensely increases. That is what has occurred today (an error in communication due to the person on the phone refusing or being unable to speak English). All of which could have been resolved with a sincere apology, nonetheless, that did occur. While I have been tempted in the past to just not return due to their snobby customer service, I continued simply because of convenience. To add to the comment of snobbery, it is not in relation to their unwillingness to speak English, it is for the mere fact that their customer service is cold and unwelcoming. As I mentioned, there was an error in a pick up order placed today. When I called to let them know, as usual a person that doesn't speak English answered, and they got frustrated and passed the phone to someone else (was I then frustrated? YES). The person that proceeded to answer was extremely rude, was non apologetic and ended up hanging up on me when I asked to speak to the owner. Calling back a few times, I asked to speak to the owner, the same person got on the phone pretending to be the owner and I insisted it was not, until they finally passed the phone to someone that said that they in fact were the owner of the establishment, (Now was this true? I will never know). The point is she was slightly apologetic but still not kind or even slightly interested in hearing about my experience. As a consumer, I was trying to speak to the owner to make them aware of the ongoing unprofessional behavior and to certainly ask why they would have someone answering the phone to take orders that won't speak English. They brushed me off, and I concluded my last visit with their establishment. read more

What a horrible place, I believe these people are racist too. This is the third visit to this estblishment and everytime we have been there we get ignored. Other patrons get served drinks, and even food first when they came second or third from me and my family. Today was the last time we stop there it happenned again, the utensils siverware were disgusiting dirty one set was. We asked the waitress to bring another set, she never did. She picked up our order for drinks and food we waited 25 minutes nothing, no drinks no silverware, and she was nowhere to be found. Yet, shed make an appearance every now and then serving food and drinks to others that came after us, a couple patrons on one table and another table of two were served before us. We asked another waitress to chwck on whats going on she never came back either at 35 minutes of waiting we left. This happenned about 12:30pm today Friday 27th. I dont recommend this place if your Jewish besides its not kosher and they are racist. read more

Hidden away on Sunbowl Dr (seriously I've run by this place like 20 times and never noticed it how??) El Rincon de Cortez is solid Mexican food at reasonable cost. Between the chiliquiles verde and my machaca, I came away impressed with the amount of food for the cost. The complimentary chips and salsa (mild heat) were solid as well. The machaca wasn't too dry and I liked that they placed the queso on the side. The end result being machaca fairly similar to Lucy's (but less cheesy in my opinion). The side of hashbrowns and the refried beans were standard fair. The chiliquiles had a good chip to salsa/egg ratio. If you are looking for a quick, no frills, but solid Mexican brunch then El Rincon will do you just fine. read more

El Rincon is a staple on the westside, my dad would bring my mom and I for lunch when I was a kid. the food is good and authentic. Prices are very reasonable, the only reason I rate it a 3 is because of service. They are a seat yourself establishment and while its slow that's not an issue it's when the rush hits your waiting to be tended to. You can sit there for five minutes looking for someone to help you, then to get a refill could be far and few between. Ill keep going but not during the lunch rush. read more

We went here with family while on a recent trip to El Paso and we enjoyed the food. I had the tampiquena plate with the cheese enchilada. The rib-eye was juicy, tender and cooked just right. It had too much chiles and tomatoes on top for my taste but I just put it off to one side. My mom had the chorizo with eggs and my wife had the milanesa. My cousin had one of the combination plates that came with so much food it actually came in two plates. (He finished it all.) I forget what the others had but everyone said they liked their food. Obviously my relatives had been there before, but being our first time we have to admit that we liked it. The service was excellent. We also liked the fact that we were there during the breakfast hours and instead of serving chips and salsa they served pan dulce. Pan dulce with a glass of milk after breakfast was nice. read more

We walk in and an employee was mopping the floor and said "we're closed" we said the sign is on and the hours listed says 8. He shrugs and keeps mopping. Having moved away from Texas to Colorado recently, I miss Mexican food almost daily. Visiting El Paso for work and stopped in for breakfast to go. Enchiladas Montadas hit the spot in a major way. The restaurant is clean and the people are friendly. Most importantly the food was great. read more

The food here is pretty good. I went during sunday afternoon and was seated right away. The waitress was nice and the place felt homey. I ordered the plate of chile rellanos. This plate was huge it was two big chile rellanos served with beans and rice. The beans and rice were good felt homemade. The chile rellanos were too cheesy for my liking but if you're a lover of a lot of cheese you'll love them. Unfortunately, i felt like i was just eating chile filled and topped with melted cheese. The food here is good, I've been there several times and have never had a problem with the actual quality of the food, however, the service is horrible. We always sit at the same table and at first our waitress was nice but then they switched people around and as of today i've had 2 bad experiences with the waitress. Both times she got my order wrong and both times she became combative and refused to fix my order because she said we weren't specific enough. Today I asked to speak to the manager and they told me that the manager wasn't going to come talk to me! Never mind that while I was waiting for a resolution she kept stopping at our table interrupting our conversation to argue with us about how my friend didn't specify what we wanted. Some other kitchen person came out and spoke to us and informed us that because my friend had eaten almost 1 whole taco before we complained that she wasn't going to replace the order and that she would just charge us for a child's plate. I was furious and told her that we weren't trying to get free food we can pay for our meals, we just wanted the right order. She informed me that since my friend had already eaten 1 taco she would only replace 2 tacos and no rice and beans. I mean THE LEVEL OF PETTINESS IS ASTOUNDING. I'm obviously never going back, our waitress ignored us the rest of the meal and was replaced by another much nicer waitress but I'm flabbergasted as to why the manager refused to come out and speak with us and how petty they were about a mistake they made. There are better restaurants with better food in the area. If you decide to go be very specific. They don't like to be told they did something wrong. They will ruin your entire meal and call you a liar just to prove a point. read more

So good, and happy that it's so close to UTEP so I can go during lunch breaks. I love the charm of this place, and the staff is always friendly. I always get their nachos or flautas and both leave me very satisfied. The queso fundido with green chiles is pretty greasy, but hey, it's still amazing. The prices are like anything you'd find at other mexican restaurants. My only complaint is the chips they give you with the salsa taste like they are store bought, yet the nachos use homemade chips.
