Was good when it opened up. My go to use to be Oaxaca burrito, and Menudo. Now its $10 for a burrito, and its small. What really got me is they loaded the burrito with potatoes, and a tiny bit of chorizio at the end of the burrito. No more, sigh. Honestly, wish I didn't have to write this but something needs to be fixed. I called my order in and the person taking my order gave me the experience of a prank call- she was laughing and unprofessional when taking my order. Also said she couldn't add rice and beans to my tacos..LOL My tacos looked horrible when I opened the box. The chicken was NOT FRESH, it was dry and looked like it was cooked earlier in the day and sat under a heating lamp all day, although my food was COLD. I picked out the bad and there was nothing left but tortilla and garnish. Plus, there was more onion in it than chicken! I didn't even eat it, was afraid to get sick. Stopped and got lunch here today. Ordered a Red Burrito Combo with sour cream and guacamole on top. No sour cream or guacamole. Took it to counter and was told it was inside the Burrito.Went back to table was eating no sour cream, or guacamole inside. I showed cashier that was now cleaning tables that it was not in the burrito either. I said I'm sure I paid extra and she said yeah, um sorry and walked away. When I was done eating, I talked to what looked like a manager and thought she was going to credit my debit back for sour cream and guacamole and she credited my whole meal. I certainly wasn't expecting that! She said they didn't have to be rude and just taken care of you. She went above and beyond my expectations to make it right. Very impressed! Carolina's is a family owned Group of Mexican casual Restaurants. The original location has been in business since 1968 and is considered a staple of Phoenix. They offer foods such as breakfast burritos, combo platters, burros, chili's, tacos, tostadas, tamales, children's menu, soft beverages, and more. The Greenway location in Glendale is very casual. You order at the counter, pay, grab a number and seat yourself. Maybe the most perfect dish we tried was the cheese quesadilla. The fresh made flour tortilla was very good and it had plain melted cheese inside. I tried three different tacos (shredded beef, chicken, potato). The best of the bunch was the chicken taco because the chicken was infused with flavor. The beef and potato taco lacked any sort of flavor. The beef taco was also served dripping with oil. My husband tried the 3-way burro platter. The problem with this one was on the green chili side they didn't add any of the beef but he did say that on the red chili side he did have beef and the red chili side was good. I did think that the green salsa was good and it was needed to eat some of the food. Maybe an off day? read more

What happened to the shredded beef crispy tacos? I haven't had any in a couple months today. I ordered three like I always do but they were tiny. They're almost half the size they were. At $4.35 a taco. I'm embarrassed. I don't think there was a full tablespoon of meat in each taco. Shame on you Carolina's. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this location. It would be the third time I have given them a chance to serve my family food. The first time, they forgot my tamale. The second time, I ordered a green chili burrito, and they forgot the green chili. This time, I ordered food for my family, and I was waiting for over 40 minutes. They served about 10 people before me, and I ordered much earlier. Then, the person in the back, the manager, and then cashier asked for my food in a sarcastic manner manager made a comment what taco. They were watching me the entire time and even asked if anything okay. I requested a refund, and the manager sent a crew member to give me my refund. I am extremely unhappy with the service I received. I just wanted to feed my family for Friday night takeout. read more

Two days in a row I asked for extra cheese and bacon on my breakfast burrito and was not accommodated with my request. After contacting the restaurant and speaking with the manager, i was given a ridiculous excuse for a resolution (we are training new people in the back)( if you want to give us another chance). Beware, although the food is really good the attention to order details are not a high priority for them. This has been a cadence at several of there locations. We have eaten at Carolina's in Peoria many times. This time we thought we would try this location. The menu is pretty much the same as the one in Peoria. The location is easy to get into and out. The inside is clean and uncluttered. There are regular tables and some high top tables. I prefer the regular table. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. I always get a Green chili burrito. These were good the meat was a little tough. the meal was good. We will probably be back when we are close but we will still mostly go to the place in Peoria. read more

Picked up dinner here last night. It was unfortunately disappointing. Again. My son had his first taste of a chimichanga from Popo's a week ago and wanted his own from Carolinas. I bragged how I preferred them from Carolina's. We got there on time and waited 10 minutes longer than the pickup time. Wasn't especially busy. The to go containers were the smaller ones they've fairly recently gone to. Sadly the portions are smaller as well. My chimi was a lot of puffed up tortilla and noticeably less machaca. Shorter as well. Daughter got a taco salad. It was missing the rice and beans that was requested. The complimentary hot sauce was noticeably watered down. I compared it with the pint of hot sauce that came with our bag of chips and it was noticeably thicker. It should have been consistent. Wife had a taco salad as well and it was missing the guacamole we paid extra for. Very disappointed. Son enjoyed his chimi thankfully, but his was also small and puffed up. He just didn't know any better since it was his first. What's going on? I read through some other reviews and saw similar comments. Can you reverse this downward trend Victoria? Please? read more

We paid 60 dollars for 3 meals and a cheese quesadilla and it was a waste of my money. We have wanted to try this place and were.excited I had heard good things. I had a pick up order ot was a number 13 combo, number 3 combo and a number 7 the tacos literally fell apart had to eat them with a fork even the soft taco was dry and fell apart. The mini chimis were supposed to be beef and they were chicken . It's a lack of attention to the order and a lack.of caring. I will never go back and I recommend you don't waste your money here. Alot better places you can go that won't screw up your food and order that is better quality. Usually you can't go wrong with a bean burrito enchilada style, but this time it was. No enchilada sauce which they charge for. The beans looked like they were dumped out of the can and not even warm. Very very very disappointed. Please do better with the next persons order. Good for fast food Mexican. It is a new location for this local owned business. I asked if they were part of the original family chain and they said yes. I hope that is accurate information because for years I always have heard about Carolina's and wanted to try it. Well, I was in my old neighborhood and noticed this new place in my Dr's office strip mall so stopped in for a fast bite. I had an Asada taco and a buttered tortilla. Both were good. Everyone raves about this place but it was not as amazing as other places in town. As far as fast food goes though, it is probably one of the better places around. I heard the original one in downtown is the place to go to. I will check that location out too. And yes, the tortilla was pretty good. The servers here were super nice. They ran out of ice when I was there and that kind of ruined lunch for me since I could not have my drink of choice but things like that happen I suppose. I also ordered a side of guac and it was nothing to write home about. I would go again I suppose but when I want Mexican I tend to go to our country wide award winners and Beard chefs in town and not fast food. Best home made tortillas in the state! I use them to create make-your-own burrito bars for parties for lots of occasions. I get the small tortillas and they still make big burritos. I call the large tortillas table cloths, because they are HUGE! All of their items are fantastic. Chicken Taco salad is amazing. Clean, friendly staff, now close to my home. Discovered the original location downtown years ago. Have been to all of their locations and they always impress me with great food for a fair price. YUM! read more

I made a quick stop to purchase two simple food items. When it was my turn to order, I was asked my name......three times! I asked for a dozen tortillas and a pint of red chile SAUCE. I repeated the sauce part so she would know not with meat. After waiting a while and trying to ignore the loud music playing, which by the way wasn't Mexican music but some noisy sounds. My order was up and I asked the person to make sure it was just sauce and not red chile beef. Big surprise...............red chile beef!!!! Good grief train your employees. Once I got home to try the sauce unfortunately not worth the trouble. Nothing like the sauce at the Carolina location in Peoria. My advice would be wait a year or two till the Greenway location gets it together, if that's even possible. read more
