I tried this place out due to the Westword deal. I'm overall satisfied with my experience, although there was some misunderstanding as to when my clothing would be ready. It was my understanding that I could pick up my clothes on Friday. Based on this understanding, I showed up on Friday around 1:30 in the afternoon to get my clothing. I was then informed by the staff that my clothing wouldn't be ready until 5:00 pm. This was a bummer, considering I don't live too close to Carousel and had to come back again at the end of the following week. It's possible that I misunderstood the Carousel staff when I first dropped off my clothes... it was just frustrating to have to go back again. I would be willing to try this place again & increase my star review assuming everything goes "according to plan." read more

Two stars because the people who work here are nice. But... Brought a pair of pants in to get patched up. Nice woman told me it would be a week. Came back after 8-9 days and the pants weren't ready. Came back a few days later and the pants still weren't ready. After two weeks I got my pants back. First time I wore them they ripped open again. Brought them back to get fixed and was told they would patch them up again no charge, told me it would be a week. I was out of town for two weeks so went back for the pants after two weeks and she still hadn't touched them. I took the pants back with a rip still in them because I needed them for a camping trip. I brought up my concerns to the owner about having to make 5 trips to finally get my pants back. He told me I should get new pants, never acknowledged my inconvenience or apologized. That said, at least it was cheap ($8 or so). But I'd gladly pay double for decent service and a quality repair. Bummer because Carousel is right in my neighborhood... Like others have said in reviews, maybe they do a good job cleaning clothes. Get your tailoring done elsewhere. read more

The crew of Carousel Cleaners are Awesome! I have been supporting this business with my laundry since June '14. Why? Every time I walk in, I am greeted by the staff. Though I'm all extrovert, I am always treated with respect and sometime depart with a high five. Never had an issue and Carousel, always delivers on time. HORRIBLE SERVICE FROM THE OWNER Took a pair of Diesel Jeans with a small hole and a James Perse shirt for minor repair. Anyone could have done a better job, worse, running with a sewing machine over a hole without putting a patch underneath only wears on the area and creates a bigger hole (sewing 101). What does Mike say: "the jeans need to be thrown away," because other areas were patched. He refused to have his staff take out the stitches, nor would he refund the money he charged for the poor work and had to take to a great alteration, unfortunately in South Denver. Same with the James Perse shirt. So sad that Mike lost his integrity. I should have known never to go back for alteration work when the same staff took a nursing shirt tall (tall nurses know how hard those are to come by) and instead of just taking off the pockets, cut 3 inches off to sew in on another shirt. What a fight with Mike for him to admit his staff made a big mistake and of course, he did not want to pay for the damage done. Had been a customer since 1994, but Mike does not appreciate repeat business anymore and his effort to provide any kind of service stops the moment his business damages your clothing. read more

Went to pick up shower curtain and liner that needed alteration. Were due to be picked up on 3/17 after 5pm. I was in the neighborhood on 3/17 prior to 5pm, and took a chance the curtains may be ready. They were not, understandable, and was told to return after 5pm. I returned on 3/18 at 12pm, and was told after 3pm. I did not want to make another trip, and was then told they would be ready in 15 minutes. They were ready when I returned. I was quoted $15.00 per panel by the gentleman in the alterations department. I was presented with a invoice for $40.00. I discussed with clerk, who stated, "I do not know I only work here". She discussed with another employee, and the invoice was reduced to $35.00. I will not return. read more

We generally have great service here, and I've been dragging our drycleanables/heavy starch needs to them for over two decades in one family form or another. No complaints about the actual cleaning, but the customer service has taken a strange turn for us. I noticed there were several alien items in with my husband's shirts a while back, once I had opened up the plastic which was a few days after he'd picked them up. Items with embroidered names on them, uniforms, things like this. My husband very sweetly rewrapped them and loaded them all back up and drove back to Carousel. Once he got there though, they acted sort of annoyed with him. Almost put out that they would now have to research who the items belonged to, and were sort of exasperated. Not a word of thanks, no token of gratitude for helping solve their problem, nothing. Just big sighs and eye rolls. Then, some time after that, when my husband went back to get another load of shirts, they tried to give him a woman's suit with his things. He laughed and pointed out that it wouldn't fit him, thinking that they would find this funny given the previous order. But no one laughed. The woman at the counter insisted it went with his things. He came out the car shaking his head, and told me they wanted ME to come inside because they were certain I had dropped this suit off and I needed to come clean. I put my shoes on and put my coffee down and as I came in the door, she pointed at me, nodded confidently and said to my husband, "SHE brought this suit in." Well, uhhhhhhhhhh... no. No, I didn't. Not a size three, Damitol, not a suit-wearin' chickie generally, and not in the habit of trying to shirk my dry cleaning responsibilities. The weird feel of the accusation really made us both taken aback and feeling defensive. In the end, they resentfully let us leave without the stranger's suit (and without paying for it) but again with the attitude as we left and asking one more time if it was ours. (I did tease my ex-husband mercilessly for weeks about having a second secret family with a second secret wife). Carousel has never destroyed an article of clothing, nor performed any other dry cleaning disaster and that is worth a LOT, but I confess I dread going down there and picking anything up or dropping anything off, given this kind of treatment to long-time customers. read more

The nicest man owns and operates this local business, but I've had 2 (and just discovered, 3) garments ruined there. It's a very busy shop, a little too busy for quality control. Everyday garments may be fine here, but higher end pieces should be taken to a higher end cleaner. I recommend Revolution (green) Cleaners in HIghlands, but beware, you may pay a lot more. read more

Really Mike! Take some responsibility for your actions. When I asked you to not be rude your response was that you could do whatever you want. Regardless of the situation you should have assured me that my clothes were safe, but instead you thought it was ok to lay in to me with such a unpleasant attitude. Just when I was ready to leave and come back when Nanette was there you felt it was necessary to yell at me. Bottom line is if you have a paying customer who needs assistance you should treat them as you would like to be treated in what was clearly a frustrating situation. Myself and my referrals to your cleaners will now be taking our services elsewhere. It may be a little to late for you to learn some people skills, but you should really try! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! i brought my work uniform there for several months, and they couldn't even get tiny dirt, smudge stains out of my shirts. One time, they handed my uniform back to me covered in lint of another color. the final straw was when i came in to pick up my clothes and one of the women YELLED at me because i didn't have a phone number for her.. Attn: Mike - Not sure which wedding dress you're thinking of (have you only done 1 this year?), but this one was brought in just for pressing, no cleaning - I have the receipt as proof. My client took her wedding dress here to be pressed before I altered it. The dress came back still wrinkled and after a $70 tab, to boot! The fabric was wrinkled, and the underskirts had not been pressed at all. I do not recommend this place. In response to the owner's comment - I am not saying they would not have made it right - I don't know. I do know that this was shortly before the wedding and my client had no time for a redo. I just know that we (yes, WE) weren't happy with the initial results. read more

I live near Carousel Cleaners and have taken my clothes there out of convenience. They are always friendly and nice. I've never had a problem with dry cleaning, alterations or repairs. Twice in the past month I've needed to have a shirt pressed with little notice and both times they were able to finish the shirt within an hour. I recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have to say something because I see a lot of bad rap going on. I really do enjoy this wonderful neighborhood gem. The staff is friendly (especially the owner). I usually brought in my work shirts that were for an upscale restaurant. They got nasty grease stains of all sorts out of my shirts. I always pointed out the stains I was most concerned with- which they marked with stickers or whatever. It seems that if you don't mention specific stains when you drop your clothing off that they will not try as hard to get the stains out. This place is very cheap having the best prices out of anywhere I know of. They're not the best at pressing clothing... but you get what you pay for, right?Overall though... Very friendly, in-house staff. My designer navy blue wardrobe came back worse for the "wear" and covered in lint, with some fur strands, either faux or real, which didn't belong to me...even the new bag tag encased a fur strand and a substantial piece of "something". HORRIBLE SERVICE FROM THE OWNER! I confidently brought in a $495 Helmut Lang dress with the hopes that having been in business for so many years that they would know what they were doing. There were leather strips on the dress and the tag clearly stated that it needed professional leather cleaning. They did not take that into account and when I picked up the dress the leather was totally hardened and the dress ruined! I brought it back and the front desk lady promised me the owner would call me with a resolve. A week later and I still heard nothing. I called several times and each time they said they would give him the message. Still no call back. Finally I went back in and luckily he was there. With no apology and not taking any blame he said that he was going to send it to a professional leather cleaner to see if they could fix it. Several weeks pass and again, I have heard nothing from the owner. I called and said that I was planning on wearing that dress for NYE and would need it back at the latest by then. Heard nothing back. Again, I went back in. The dress was sitting on the rack, back from the other cleaners. I asked the owner if he was planning on calling me to let me know that it was just sitting there! He said he had been very busy, apparently too busy to make a simple phone call. I looked at the dress. It was slightly better but still ruined. I explained that obviously the dress is ruined and I would have to buy a new one. Because it was there mistake, clearly they should reimburse me for the dress. He insinuated that it should have been my job to inform his cleaners how to do their job! He then asked how much I wanted for the dress. Well, I want the cost of what it will cost me to replace it, which is $495! He argued that because it was used he shouldn't have to pay that much. This response is completely nonsensical because I can't go buy a used one to replace it. The replacement cost is the cost of the dress! I'm sure if it was a $20 dress he would have no problem shelling it out but just because it seems like a lot for a dress doesn't change the fact that what is fair is fair. He refused and I was given no other options to resolve the issue. He didn't even offer to give me my money back for the botched dry cleaning service! So at the end of the day I am out the dry cleaning money, the time spent on the phone and making several trips to the dry cleaners and a $495 designer dress. I tried to be fair and give them the benefit of the doubt but now it is obvious to me that they don't care about what they are doing and they surely don't care about proper customer service. I highly recommend that you take your dry cleaning elsewhere! read more

Brought a once-worn dress here for cleaning and it was returned with mysterious purple stains on both front and back. Went back to ask for my money back, and the owner/manager would only offer to try to fix it - well, I needed the dress for a wedding and was leaving town the same day, so that wasn't exactly an option ... but it was the only solution they'd provide. I cannot get my money back until I wear my dirty dress at a wedding and then entrust it to you again? I don't think so. I am a long time resident of North Denver and have been using Carousel Cleaners for years. I have always been pleased with their service and the friendliness of everyone, but I've never written a review. Today though I was blown away, I picked up a red down jacket that was absolutely filthy and I didn't have much hope it would get too clean. However, it looks like a brand new coat, it is amazing. Carousel is always so great to do business with ... I have taken several items to them that I thought would have to be thrown away and they have magically fixed them! (IE: red wine stains, grease on a silk dress, etc) The counter people are always really friendly and it is nice to know that they are a neighborhood owned establishment. My latest 'success story' was a dress I bought in NYC that had a small stain on the front and the back hem needed fixed. I got a small discount from the retailer in NYC but I bought the dress anyway since I KNEW that Carousel could fix the problems... AND THEY DID! Carousel Cleaners is great. I've brought all my clothes that had really bad stains. And I always get them back looking new. The counter girls are really nice and they take really good care of me. good job girls. But I really don't like to complain, but the last time I've been in there an older women who calls herself a "MANAGER" was a bit rude. I over heard another customer asking for a special and she threw a drag about it. Terrible experience!!! Dropped off a few shirts and my wife's vintage coat. I came in a week after my pick up date to find out that they busted off one of the vintage brass buttons (which is frustrating, but I understand things like this happen). The lady at the counter told me that they will repair the damage they have caused, but the jacket will not be ready for another couple of days (this is irritating because they already had the jacket for an extra week). I come back a couple weeks later, and the person at the counter hands me the jacket. I inspected the coat and saw the button was never fixed. I told her that and she looks at me says "that button wasn't there when got the jacket." As soon I started to argue the lady at the counter call for another associate to find out what happened. The other lady found a piece of the missing button in the back (which is useless without the rest of the pieces). There's was no attempt on their part to make anything right (not even a refund), or a sincere apology.. read more

I decided to try Carousel Cleaners because they are close to my house and I had a dress that I needed to have dry cleaned for a wedding. When I went to pick up the dress the colors on the front of the dress had bled. The dress was supposed to be ready for pick up on Tuesday and I was picking it on Friday, a day before the wedding. Carousel did not call me to let me know that the colors had bled during the dry cleaning process. I guess they thought that I wouldn't notice. Additionally, the dress had not been delinted and looked like it had been thrown on the floor and drug through mounds of pet hair. It was disgusting. The cashier acted like it was a huge inconvenience for them to try to fix my dress since they had left me with no options at the last minute. One of the ladies working there heard our conversation and apologized and said that they would try and fix it and would call me later. In short, I waited all day in Denver instead of going to Keystone for them to fix my dress. In the end they couldn't fix it and all I got was their bad attitude and some fifty cent tokens. And yes, they actually charged me for dry cleaning my dress. Thankfully White House Black Market saved the day and refunded my money, no questions asked. read more

The best thing about this place in my opinion is the alterations, I have gotten a lot of clothes altered and it has been done professionally and in a timely manner. The dry cleaning is not very good at all. I have had shirts that have come back with the collar and cuffs still dirty, but didnt notice until I got home. Been a customer for about six months - no more - they offered to re-clean my favorite summer skirt to remove what appeared to be some coffee stains. Could have lived with the light stains that kind of blended in but thought great - if they can completely remove them! After the second cleaning my skirt is ruined - large area of the print is now missing/white. They offered me a "store credit" for the value of the skirt - I have no interest in returning and unfortunately my skirt cannot be replaced. read more
