The bar was loud and lively around happy hour, while the patio was much quieter and gave us a more relaxed place to enjoy dinner. I wasn't very familiar with the Italian wines, so I asked our waiter for a recommendation. He brought me a sample before I ordered a full glass, which was a thoughtful touch. His recommendation was excellent. My partner ordered the Pineapple Tiki Old Fashioned and she loved it. The filet mignon sliders were delicious. My Black Linguine Arrabbiata had a little spicy kick and was very good, with calamari, clams, mussels, crab meat, and spicy marinara. Our waiter was helpful and attentive throughout the meal without making us feel rushed. Between the food, thoughtful service, and comfortable outdoor seating, we had a very enjoyable evening. The lively interior is a good option if you want more energy, but the patio was perfect for a quieter meal in the beautiful weather. We would happily return. read more

Meatball MediterraneanThree juicy, tender meatballs that were well executed. The olive-oil-soaked crostini was the perfect complement--crusty on the outside, soft on the inside, and ideal for soaking up every bit of sauce. The feta chunks neither added nor detracted from the dish. A dollop of mascarpone or ricotta would have given it an even richer, meltier finish. Heck even a whipped feta would've added more depth. The blend of meats was outstanding with a pleasant kick of spice, while the mellow, flavorful marinara had a thinner consistency that made it perfect for crostini dipping. Lobster RavioliThe sauce was unquestionably the star of the show. The pasta tasted homemade with a wonderful texture. Unfortunately, the lobster seemed either overcooked or not at its freshest, as it had a noticeable fishy flavor and a chewy texture. The fresh lump crab, however, made for an excellent garnish and added a bright, sweet contrast. Smoked Pineapple Rum Old FashionedThe pineapple-infused rum came through nicely, giving the cocktail great flavor. The smoke, however, was much more subtle than I expected. I knew it had been smoked because the bartender presented it with a plastic smoking device over the glass. I was anticipating the more dramatic wood-smoke presentation under a glass dome that I'm accustomed to. It was also missing the classic Luxardo or maraschino cherry garnish, and without any garnish at all, it felt like it was missing that final finishing touch. OverallWhile it didn't quite reach Feed My Soul status, everything was genuinely good. We've gone to this restaurant a few times (as a couple and family of 4) and we've always had a positive experience. We've never needed a reservation, was seated quick, and had great service. Truly no complaints on that front. The issue is that the food has been a bit hit or miss. I typically get the squid ink pasta and love all the seafood add-ons. But more recently it's been bland and needing flavor. My husband had the Fettuccine Mediterranean a similar issue with missing flavor. The calamari has been a consistent hit but it's just an appetizer. Connie, the hostess, was warm and so kind to give us the very last table without a reservation and a packed restaurant. The last table was not normally used since it looks into the kitchen area where Jessica, the incredible food expediter or expro, handling the dining room plates and the stream of to go orders and to go tickets reaching the floor with precision and passion. It kept us well entertained, and I appreciated she moved my filet mignon burgers to be under the heat lamps while she waited for my husband's fish. Marjorie, our server, was friendly and gracious and made our experience very enjoyable. My husband had the branzino which was impressively two filets of fish and fantastic. Really great food and service. I came here with my girlfriends for a catch-up. I arrived early and was able to park right in front. We were served complimentary pizza-like bread, which was probably my favorite complimentary bread I've ever had. It was really good. Such a beautiful and delicious meal! Well, we came here for happy hour on a Friday, but didn't realize that they didn't offer happy hour Friday - so we ordered off of the menu for dinner, just the same. I had an epic bacon cheeseburger - I know, I know, it's not the traditional Italian meal, but I think it was the most delicious cheeseburger I have ever eaten!!! My buddies split a huge lasagna and the beet salad, and they claimed it was a 10/10 too. Service was classy, and the vibe was energetic and positive. Dear friend Lys and I were in Annapolis for the weekend, attending the nearby Maryland Renaissance Festival. It was our first time in Annapolis. We consulted you, the Yelp Community, for recommendations. You did not disappoint! The restaurant is in a complex with a hotel and other shops in the heart of the town. We parked in a nearby garage (easy) and walked over. We didn't have a reservation, but, fortunately we were able to get a table for 2. Yay! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is warm with a sophisticated feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted promptly, got drinks and they took our order. First up was a simple, traditional tomato and onion salad, no lettuce, with an oil and herb dressing. This was the only soft note in the meal, mostly because this type of salad needs a tomato with lots of flavor, particularly an acid note to balance the oil. These tomatoes weren't up to that task. It was still very good, just on the bland side, and getting good flavorful tomatoes late in the season can be challenging. Entrees! I got the Pappardelle with Bolognese gravy. Anyone who has read my reviews for a time knows I have a problem with tomato gravy with beef being sold as "bolognese". Pure joy when nicely cooked Al dente noodles showed up smothered in a legit creamy bolognese. Y'all, it was really good. Lys had never experienced Smith Island Cake. Shocking, I know. So we of course got a slice to split after dinner, despite being pretty stuffed. The cake didn't disappoint. It was fudgy (almost like a thick ganache) and moist but not mushy or falling apart. Very reliable Italian restaurant! I was impressed by how busy it was on a Monday night but felt like the menu is so broad it was hard for them to specialize on something great. A very nice dining experience at Carpaccio. I'd call this a rather "old fashioned" restaurant, on the dark side, with tables and banquette seating. It is fairly noisy when busy. The menu has a very nice variety of Italian foods, with a lot of seafood as one might expect in Annapolis. Our table started with a generous helping of grilled calamari served with frisée and salsa. Everyone loved it, maybe the best calamari dish I've ever had. I had a half Caesar salad and black linguine arrabiata. The squid ink pasta was delicious and topped with a mountain of clams, mussels, calamari, and crab in a spicy red sauce. B had Spaghetti puttanesca, which she really liked, especially the whole olives. M had a panzanella app, followed by excellent Lobster ravioli. This restaurant has quickly become our #1 go-to date night place in Annapolis. We've lived here 5 years and are disappointed that we just recently discovered it. The staff is amazing, particularly Luigi and our favorite server, Meg. They offer excellent customer service and a vast knowledge of their products and offerings. We have never gone wrong with one of their recommendations. Our favorites appetizers are the calamari and the beef carpaccio. We get them every single time we go and they are so delicious. We have tried a wide range of different entrees and have always been happy, if not thrilled, with them. As if the regular menu wasn't great enough, they always have so many specials that sound so good. Meg always goes above and beyond for us each time we visit. She is so enjoyable and was wonderful to our 3 year old when we most recently brought her for a weekday birthday dinner. We enjoy chatting with her each time we come. Always ask for Meg! What a night! The restaurant was packed due to the great weather in the area. We made a reservation well in advance, so there was not a wait for our table. Our server, Megan was very attentive, even though she had tables on the inside and outside of the restaurant. We ordered the Italian wedding soup and the shrimp arugula as our starters. The soup was fantastic. There were multiple levels of flavor. The shrimp arugula was quite a surprise. Did not think that cannelloni beans and shrimp would go together. But the sauce really tied everything together the shrimp tasted very fresh. The lamb Ragu and the lobster ravioli were absolutely standouts. The sauce on the lobster ravioli was sensational. The crab meat was a nice touch, but I didn't necessarily need it. The ravioli filling was very flavorful. We had the Smith Island cake for dessert. The cake layers were extremely moist. We had dinner at Carpaccio's for our daughter's birthday last Sunday night. While the restaurant was not busy at the time, we waited for nearly an hour on our meals. When our daughter's meal was brought to the table, it was missing the chicken, though I was reassured that it was buried in the dish. After digging in, there certainly wasn't any chicken. Our waiter was lovely and not only comped her meal but gave her a new meal. While everything was delicious, it would have been nice if they would have done something special for the birthday that we had at our table. And yes, they were aware as I indicated it on our reservation. I orders take out from Carpaccio's and the only thing I would have changed, is I would have eaten there. When I walked in to pickup my food the restaurant, there was a live singer. As incredible as the food was, there was clearly an issue with the service team that kept me from giving a five-star for a very costly meal plus the fact, I understand the value of having a suggested dress code or best practice for when dining out while my wife and I were dressed properly we were sitting amongst folks who could have just come from a day at the beach or walking the shops along the harbor, and it was not what we were looking for. I don't know if there was a shortage of staff, but Bridget the server as much as she put on her stage face, and the busing staff as well, we felt like the service was way off and I'll give examples but if you want to know about the food, it is exceptional. We arrived early and I was a little surprised to be seated in a corner all the way in the back yet considering we were dressed to the nines, we moved to a table a little closer into the restaurant so we felt like we wouldn't be ignored by staff and also to enjoy the atmosphere instead of having a line of view to the kitchen. They have an extensive wine menu with lots of good options. The food menu was well thought out with many options. Our first not-so-great run-in with our server was when we were discussing wine options and flavor profiles, and a request for a taste was like we were asking for too much. When a glass costs what the bottle costs I like a taste before I ask for a pour. For our meal, we started with the muscles and clams, which were all open, and had a nice flavor profile, and it went great with the Essence Riesling wine from Germany we had ordered. Next, we had a whole baby arugula salad that was split between the two of us, we appreciated the kitchen doing this. The salad was fresh and broke up the flavor from the muscles and clams before going into our main dish which was the veal marsala, and instead of having pasta we were able to substitute for broccolini and a side dish of creamy polenta with shaved Parmesan split again in the kitchen; which was a very nice and much appreciated. The dish was perfect, tender, and flavorful, and it was certainly plenty for the two of us. My concern about staffing is how many times a bus person would pass by and ignore the dirty dishes on our table. How many times our empty water glasses sat until they were refilled. It wasn't that they weren't on the floor, but they would walk through very focused on a single task passing through rather than scanning and looking at what they could do to make this an exceptional experience for these people rather than having someone like me write a review about the downside experience. In summary, certainly a good restaurant to break up having seafood during the week, but management needs to step up their game when it comes to those on the floor representing the brand again considering this is not an inexpensive restaurant. read more

1st time dining at Carpaccio and it was underwhelming. Sat for reservations at 5:30pm on a Saturday night. They weren't super busy but, by the time we left 2 hours later there was a wait. The cocktails and lemoncello cake were delicious but, the food and the service was just ok. I had the linguine alla vongole, a dish I always get when I go out, but it was so salty that I could only get a couple of bites. The waiter was very inattentive and we had to flag him down a few times to order drinks, ask for napkins, get our check, etc. At one point I just walked uo to the front of the restaurant to ask for a dessert menu because our waiter would walk by our table without a word on his way to visit other tables multiple times. Once the food came he never came back to ask how everything was so that I could tell him that my dish was overly salty. Eventually, the bus boy cleared our plates, including my full bowl of pasta. We had noticed that several tables around us that were seated after us had received their food before us, got their check before us and were out the door before us. We aren't slow eaters and I was done eating after 3 bites. We felt sort of ignored. The managers (or what I assume are the managers) are walking around the dining room. However, I didn't see any of them stop at any tables to ask how everything was. Certainly not ours. Overall, not impressed with Carpaccio's and most likely won't be back. read more
