Food was decent, slightly too much cheese, I had the Grandma pizza, I understand it has 4 different cheeses but they could've portioned it better, they also could've informed of the basil that was on top of the pizza. Service was great! The waitress always made sure our drinks were full to the best of her ability. The lighting/ambiance is what caused me to write this review today, it was so dark that I could barely see my food, even with the provided table lamp, secondly I really did not like the mirror wall as it would show anything on your phone to the other person at your table. I would overall review this place a 4/5, so an 80%. read more

What delicious food, wine, and a fun dining experience. We are looking forward to coming back. Connie, the hostess, was warm and so kind to give us the very last table without a reservation and a packed restaurant. The last table was not normally used since it looks into the kitchen area where Jessica, the incredible food expediter or expro, handling the dining room plates and the stream of to go orders and to go tickets reaching the floor with precision and passion. It kept us well entertained, and I appreciated she moved my filet mignon burgers to be under the heat lamps while she waited for my husband's fish. Marjorie, our server, was friendly and gracious and made our experience very enjoyable. My husband had the branzino which was impressively two filets of fish and fantastic. Delicious bottle of wine for only $35. Chocolate lava cake completed the evening. Really great food and service. I came here with my girlfriends for a catch-up. I arrived early and was able to park right in front. I was seated outside in a shaded area, and it was beautiful. My waiter was very kind and friendly. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name. We were served complimentary pizza-like bread, which was probably my favorite complimentary bread I've ever had. It was really good. I ordered the branzino and truffle fries, while my friends ordered pasta and chicken. I absolutely loved my branzino, it was fresh and flavorful, and possibly the best I've had in a while. My friends also enjoyed their meals. I appreciated that they had a great selection of mocktails as well. I'll definitely be coming back to try their pizzas and other items on the menu. Highly recommend this place. read more

We went here for Mother's Day, and from the parking to dining everything was great! My wife ordered the branzino mediterranean while I had the black linguine arrabbiata and both were delicious meals. The server provided us with bread on the side and a complimentary cheese cake for my wife on this special occasion. We will be back again soon! read more

Dear friend Lys and I were in Annapolis for the weekend, attending the nearby Maryland Renaissance Festival. It was our first time in Annapolis. We consulted you, the Yelp Community, for recommendations. You did not disappoint! The restaurant is in a complex with a hotel and other shops in the heart of the town. We parked in a nearby garage (easy) and walked over. We didn't have a reservation, but, fortunately we were able to get a table for 2. Yay! The atmosphere is warm with a sophisticated feel. We were greeted promptly, got drinks and they took our order. First up was a simple, traditional tomato and onion salad, no lettuce, with an oil and herb dressing. This was the only soft note in the meal, mostly because this type of salad needs a tomato with lots of flavor, particularly an acid note to balance the oil. These tomatoes weren't up to that task. It was still very good, just on the bland side, and getting good flavorful tomatoes late in the season can be challenging. Entrees! I got the Pappardelle with Bolognese gravy. Anyone who has read my reviews for a time knows I have a problem with tomato gravy with beef being sold as "bolognese". Pure joy when nicely cooked Al dente noodles showed up smothered in a legit creamy bolognese. Y'all, it was really good. Lys had never experienced Smith Island Cake. Shocking, I know. So we of course got a slice to split after dinner, despite being pretty stuffed. The cake didn't disappoint. It was fudgy (almost like a thick ganache) and moist but not mushy or falling apart. Lys now understands why this is the unofficial dessert of Maryland. Sooooo good. Awesome place. Highly recommend. read more

Took my mom here for lunch and everything was fresh and delicious. I had the Mediterranean salad with shrimp, and she got the linguine with clam sauce. The staff were kind, and the setting is beautiful--outdoor seating by a fountain or a classy indoor dining room. Very reliable Italian restaurant! I was impressed by how busy it was on a Monday night but felt like the menu is so broad it was hard for them to specialize on something great. Our meat was a little dry (the sausage in the porcini ravioli and the pork chop) - probably bc it sat under a heat lamp for awhile. Maybe it would've been a bit better on a more low key night. This restaurant has quickly become our #1 go-to date night place in Annapolis. We've lived here 5 years and are disappointed that we just recently discovered it. The staff is amazing, particularly Luigi and our favorite server, Meg. They offer excellent customer service and a vast knowledge of their products and offerings. We have never gone wrong with one of their recommendations. Our favorites appetizers are the calamari and the beef carpaccio. We get them every single time we go and they are so delicious. We have tried a wide range of different entrees and have always been happy, if not thrilled, with them. As if the regular menu wasn't great enough, they always have so many specials that sound so good. Meg always goes above and beyond for us each time we visit. She is so enjoyable and was wonderful to our 3 year old when we most recently brought her for a weekday birthday dinner. We enjoy chatting with her each time we come. Always ask for Meg! What a night! The restaurant was packed due to the great weather in the area. We made a reservation well in advance, so there was not a wait for our table. Our server, Megan was very attentive, even though she had tables on the inside and outside of the restaurant. We ordered the Italian wedding soup and the shrimp arugula as our starters. The soup was fantastic. There were multiple levels of flavor. The shrimp arugula was quite a surprise. Did not think that cannelloni beans and shrimp would go together. But the sauce really tied everything together the shrimp tasted very fresh. The lamb Ragu and the lobster ravioli were absolutely standouts. The sauce on the lobster ravioli was sensational. The crab meat was a nice touch, but I didn't necessarily need it. The ravioli filling was very flavorful. We had the Smith Island cake for dessert. The cake layers were extremely moist. We will absolutely return, but it will be difficult to decide on trying something new or having a second go at what we ordered. read more

A very nice dining experience at Carpaccio. I'd call this a rather "old fashioned" restaurant, on the dark side, with tables and banquette seating. It is fairly noisy when busy. The menu has a very nice variety of Italian foods, with a lot of seafood as one might expect in Annapolis. Our table started with a generous helping of grilled calamari served with frisée and salsa. Everyone loved it, maybe the best calamari dish I've ever had. I had a half Caesar salad and black linguine arrabiata. The squid ink pasta was delicious and topped with a mountain of clams, mussels, calamari, and crab in a spicy red sauce. B had Spaghetti puttanesca, which she really liked, especially the whole olives. M had a panzanella app, followed by excellent Lobster ravioli. I come in town once a year and this place is my go to. I love sitting at the bar. It's so cozy in November. Awesome service from professional bartenders. Start with an amazingly well-sized drink (Martini, Manhattan, etc.). Mediterranean Salad topped with Filet medium rare (or) Burrata followed by Porcini Ravioli (or) Caesar with a Pizza. We had dinner at Carpaccio's for our daughter's birthday last Sunday night. While the restaurant was not busy at the time, we waited for nearly an hour on our meals. When our daughter's meal was brought to the table, it was missing the chicken, though I was reassured that it was buried in the dish. After digging in, there certainly wasn't any chicken. Our waiter was lovely and not only comped her meal but gave her a new meal. While everything was delicious, it would have been nice if they would have done something special for the birthday that we had at our table. And yes, they were aware as I indicated it on our reservation. It's always nice, especially when treating a group to a nice (pricey!) meal, to have that special event recognized in some way. read more

Stunning restaurant!! Hands down the best Italian food in annapolis (coming from someone who's worked there for years). Caroline is a top tier server and you won't be disappointed sitting in her section-- she takes such great care of her tables. Her service is impeccable and makes you want to pull up a chair and have her dine with you. Their lamb ragu is killer and the salted caramel gelato is to DIE FOR!! I orders take out from Carpaccio's and the only thing I would have changed, is I would have eaten there. When I walked in to pickup my food the restaurant, there was a live singer. I'm not sure if there was an event but bar and restaurant was packed. The food was delicious and I appreciate how they packed it in good quality take out containers to keep it warm. 1st time dining at Carpaccio and it was underwhelming. Sat for reservations at 5:30pm on a Saturday night. They weren't super busy but, by the time we left 2 hours later there was a wait. The cocktails and lemoncello cake were delicious but, the food and the service was just ok. I had the linguine alla vongole, a dish I always get when I go out, but it was so salty that I could only get a couple of bites. The waiter was very inattentive and we had to flag him down a few times to order drinks, ask for napkins, get our check, etc. At one point I just walked uo to the front of the restaurant to ask for a dessert menu because our waiter would walk by our table without a word on his way to visit other tables multiple times. Once the food came he never came back to ask how everything was so that I could tell him that my dish was overly salty. Eventually, the bus boy cleared our plates, including my full bowl of pasta. We had noticed that several tables around us that were seated after us had received their food before us, got their check before us and were out the door before us. We aren't slow eaters and I was done eating after 3 bites. We felt sort of ignored. The managers (or what I assume are the managers) are walking around the dining room. However, I didn't see any of them stop at any tables to ask how everything was. Certainly not ours. Overall, not impressed with Carpaccio's and most likely won't be back. read more

The Alfredo was creamy buttery rich but you can tell it's definitely in house I'm getting the sauce on everything now!.. I asked him for a cherry coke from the bar he made me a beautifully presented cherry coke it was LOOOVE in a glass my day was made better all way around!! it was a packed house, and more people were arriving. This lady even held my sodas while I put on my hoodie to leave it was super chilly windy at the end of the night! So pretty outside the statue waterfall lit up. overall my visit this time was amazing! Definitely worth it even more now thanks to the welcoming GM!. You know I'm HUGE on customer service!! Everything is cleaned ,well organized it's a mouthwash dispenser in the bathrooms now good look! it's NOT the soap dispenser lol. As incredible as the food was, there was clearly an issue with the service team that kept me from giving a five-star for a very costly meal plus the fact, I understand the value of having a suggested dress code or best practice for when dining out while my wife and I were dressed properly we were sitting amongst folks who could have just come from a day at the beach or walking the shops along the harbor, and it was not what we were looking for. I don't know if there was a shortage of staff, but Bridget the server as much as she put on her stage face, and the busing staff as well, we felt like the service was way off and I'll give examples but if you want to know about the food, it is exceptional. We arrived early and I was a little surprised to be seated in a corner all the way in the back yet considering we were dressed to the nines, we moved to a table a little closer into the restaurant so we felt like we wouldn't be ignored by staff and also to enjoy the atmosphere instead of having a line of view to the kitchen. They have an extensive wine menu with lots of good options. The food menu was well thought out with many options. Our first not-so-great run-in with our server was when we were discussing wine options and flavor profiles, and a request for a taste was like we were asking for too much. When a glass costs what the bottle costs I like a taste before I ask for a pour. For our meal, we started with the muscles and clams, which were all open, and had a nice flavor profile, and it went great with the Essence Riesling wine from Germany we had ordered. Next, we had a whole baby arugula salad that was split between the two of us, we appreciated the kitchen doing this. The salad was fresh and broke up the flavor from the muscles and clams before going into our main dish which was the veal marsala, and instead of having pasta we were able to substitute for broccolini and a side dish of creamy polenta with shaved Parmesan split again in the kitchen; which was a very nice and much appreciated. The dish was perfect, tender, and flavorful, and it was certainly plenty for the two of us. My concern about staffing is how many times a bus person would pass by and ignore the dirty dishes on our table. How many times our empty water glasses sat until they were refilled. It wasn't that they weren't on the floor, but they would walk through very focused on a single task passing through rather than scanning and looking at what they could do to make this an exceptional experience for these people rather than having someone like me write a review about the downside experience. In summary, certainly a good restaurant to break up having seafood during the week, but management needs to step up their game when it comes to those on the floor representing the brand again considering this is not an inexpensive restaurant. read more

The inside of this place was cute. First thing in noticed was a $4.99 split entree fee at the bottom of the menu, which I have never seen before. Once we sat down, took forever to receive any service. I ordered the gnocchi. Sauce was bland and the gnocchi itself had that frozen bagged gnocchi texture. I've visited this restaurant before and found it to be slightly above the quality of a typical chain like Olive Garden. It's usually busy, so I was surprised to find it so quiet during my recent visit--unfortunately, the experience clarified why. During a lunch break, I stopped in with the intention of dining in and placing a takeout order for my office. Upon arrival, I was not greeted or seated by any waitstaff. After waiting a while, I had to request service. The bartender on duty was dismissive and asked me to shout my order across the bar, which I found unprofessional and uncomfortable, especially as I was planning to order several items. When I began placing my order--starting with a side of asparagus--the bartender interrupted me, rolled his eyes, and sarcastically asked, "That's all you're going to get?" I had intended to order a full meal for myself along with takeout, and he would have received a 20% tip on both. His attitude was rude, condescending, and entirely unprofessional. his voice was normal, but it was his facial expressions that was so disturbing. He obviously to see this. What made matters worse was that he appeared more focused on socializing and serving drinks to what seemed like off-duty employees than attending to paying customers. Due to this experience, I will be canceling an upcoming event we had reserved at this location. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this establishment to others based on the current level of service. I did go to Miss Shirley's next-door and I highly recommend! The food is amazing. Wow. Incredibly fresh and crisp food. I could eat here every d*** day and that is saying a lot since we only came here for appetizers! It is seriously THAT amazing. Everyone needs to experience something from this menu. We ordered the shrimp arugula, orangina vesuviana, and baby arugula salad. We could've eaten this again, again and again. The lemon zest added to the baby arugula salad was perfection. The shrimp was humongous and even though the dish cost $24 for four shrimp, it was well worth the price! Fairly indifferent service at first but once we were reassigned to a server who acknowledged our existence things went better, and they give you delicious tomato bread at the outset so we weren't starving.
