Shockingly the service was just as incredible as the food. We told our server that we were moving in nearby and she made our first visit amazing. They had 3 versions of seabass on the menu that day and wow! The one we selected was a beautiful mix of sweet and bitter. Great drinks too. Make your reservation in advance; they book up quick. Street parking nearby or there is a garage not far away that is affordable.

Cannoli. You have to ask for it. We didn't see on menu.

Food: Really good. I got the boneless rib eye. I normally get it cooked to a medium, but the waiter and a friend suggested medium rare. I ate the whole thing! Honestly though, I feel cooking it to a medium would have melted and incorporated the fat more. Plus I like the consistency of a medium more, but that's me. I heard no complaints at the table (7 people) Service: I really like JohnMario (Jeanmario?). He was very attentive in a super busy restaraunt. This place was 3/4 full in a Tuesday night! People like this place. Service was top notch. Ambiance: Osteria 177 has a bit of a hipster vibe. Modern yet rustic. A little dim, so if you wanted to take someone on a first date, this is a good choice. Our table however, I feel so bad. After the third bourbon, we started getting loud and boisterous. As the night progresses, don't be surprised if large groups get a little animated!

We wanted to find a nice restaurant to celebrate our 13th anniversary. Visiting from the West coast, we found this gem. WOW! Beautiful decor. From the moment of walking in, we knew it would be a great experience. Service was impressive, food was amazing and little dessert celebration topped off our dinner. Best old fashion I've had yet! If we return to Annapolis for another trip, this will be on our list! Thank you Osteria !!!

I had dinner at Osteria 177 a couple of weeks ago when I was in Annapolis for work for a couple of days (I decided to stay overnight rather than driving back to Baltimore and coming back really early the next morning and decided to treat myself to a nice meal)! It was a weekday night and they were pretty busy! But I was able to snag a seat at the bar, where the service, people watching, and company were great (I ended up talking to the couple seated next to me for an hour or so). But the food and wines were also great. I started with a Caesar salad with added anchovies, which is a classic I love. Then I went with one of their pasta specials, which was a penne with smoked seafood in a cream sauce, which was also delicious. They had plenty of great Italian wines, as well, so I had to have a couple of glasses (of Vermentino, if I remember correctly). Just in the heart of Main Street, Osteria is a great place for a dinner, whether solo or with a larger group. Definitely a gem in Annapolis's historic district.

What a gem in Annapolis! We were staying near Annapolis over Labor Day weekend for our wedding anniversary and delighted we found this amazing Italian restaurant. We went there based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. We did not have reservations but they kindly squeezed us in (never hurts to ask nicely!). Our server explained everything to us in great detail. The menu was a bit overwhelming since there was so much detail and we wanted to try so many things. We started with lobster bisque and the grilled octopus appetizers. The cocktails were terrific. My husband had the Chilean sea bass stuffed with crabmeat (amazing!) and I had the seafood with squid ink linguine. Squid ink linguine can come out all wrong or too seafoody smelling but this was so delicious. It made me think of the same dish that I had in Venice. The setting was fun and modern - had rich colors. The owners obviously love Italian actors and Italy - so do we! We are looking forward to taking our sons back to this spot with us next time. We live in the DMV and we've been to various good Italian places in DC but this was top-notch. (Better than some DC Italian big name places which shall remain name-less.) My current favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Cheers!

Ambiance, service, and absolutely delicious food and beverages. This had been on the list for far too long before being able to enjoy - and it did NOT disappoint. From appetizers to dessert it was a night to remember and soon repeat It was easy to make a reservation online (recommended as it got busy even on a Monday evening - when you eat here you'll understand why) and fantastic experience all around!

What an elegant dining experience. From the hostess, to our waiter and servers, just excellent. I loved the decor and artwork of phenomenal Italian public figures. Fine dining lighting and soft, comforting music. The food and drinks were delicious. I recommend the grilled calamari and lobster bisque soup, amazing. There is a parking garage in walking distance for you to enjoy the beautiful downtown Annapolis scenery and ocean breeze.

Dinner here was absolutely incredible. This is an upscale restaurant with a nice, swanky vibe. I had a Belvedere Martini with blue cheese olives to kick things off along with an order of the meatballs which were fantastic. The star of the show, however, was the main course paired with a nice Pinot Noir. I tried the pistachio crusted lamb chops and they were absolutely amazing- so tender and flavorful, the pistachio crust made for a unique flavor; I was 100% happy with my choice. Can't say enough good things about Osteria 177, this is a gem in Annapolis!

Osteria 177 has amazing food with service to match. The decor conveys elegance. Treat yourself and enjoy this gem of a restaurant on Main Street in Annapolis.

Our first time trying osteria 177 and it blew our expectations away! We tried the bufala campana, Wagyu ravioli, pappardelle zafferano, and tiramisu. All of them were 10/10. I'm convinced you could order anything off the menu and it would be amazing. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, each sauce was flavorful and perfect amount. The seafood was fresh, sweet, and perfectly cooked- even the scallop and rock shrimp (which often times gets overcooked) they did it perfect. Mid meal I already knew we would be coming back to try more of their dishes. Of course their complimentary bread was also delicious (crispy exterior, warm spongy interior) and served with high quality EVOO. Thank you Osteria 177, we will be back soon. Special thank you to Brian, our server for the excellent service.

Sat us with Jake at the Bar on a very busy Friday night. Had a really fine experience. Cocktails were just right and the food choices outstanding. Jake was very attentive and made good recommendations. My wife tried a vegetarian dish with asparagus that she said was outstanding. I tried the ciopino was chock - full of seafood with a slightly spicy broth . Wonderful choice with house made toasts We are just passing thru but highly recommend !

This was our first visit to Osteria 177 and I sure hope it won't be our last. It was phenomenal! We began our evening here with cocktails at the bar which was small in terms of seating, but relatively large in terms of top shelf selections - especially of bourbons and tequilas. We enjoyed the decor, but most of all we enjoyed the menu and the courses we had. The toughest part of the night was choosing one entree, as there is so so much on the menu that sounds delicious and includes a lot of dishes you don't see everywhere you go. The bread was perfection and it was served with olive oil. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had. Ever. The branzino filet was a delicate dish with a flavor that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Even the sides of veggies and potatoes were delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server, Dimitri, was helpful on all selections and extremely knowledgeable on all courses and wine recommendations. I'd recommend a reservation, and I'd recommend getting here if you're in the area and looking for an excellent meal. We will surely return the next time we are in the area.

Probably the best fine dining experience in Annapolis, wonderful flavors in a bright wood paneled interior with authentic Italian waiters. The Salmone Affumicato presentation, and taste were fantastic, as was the taste of the Polpette di Carne (Meatballs). Try the Tartufo Affogato for a real treat. This is full service, fine dining, with an extensive wine list and full bar.

We also shared several appetizers, including the meat and cheese boards, which were absolutely incredible. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. One of the highlights of the evening was being invited to the speakeasy downstairs, where we were treated to complimentary drinks. The bar was loud and lively around happy hour, while the patio was much quieter and gave us a more relaxed place to enjoy dinner. I wasn't very familiar with the Italian wines, so I asked our waiter for a recommendation. He brought me a sample before I ordered a full glass, which was a thoughtful touch. His recommendation was excellent. My partner ordered the Pineapple Tiki Old Fashioned and she loved it. The filet mignon sliders were delicious. My Black Linguine Arrabbiata had a little spicy kick and was very good, with calamari, clams, mussels, crab meat, and spicy marinara. The one disappointment was the tiramisu, which neither of us cared for. Our waiter was helpful and attentive throughout the meal without making us feel rushed. Between the food, thoughtful service, and comfortable outdoor seating, we had a very enjoyable evening. The lively interior is a good option if you want more energy, but the patio was perfect for a quieter meal in the beautiful weather. We'd happily return, but we'd probably choose a different dessert next time.

The feta chunks neither added nor detracted from the dish. A dollop of mascarpone or ricotta would have given it an even richer, meltier finish. Heck even a whipped feta would've added more depth. The blend of meats was outstanding with a pleasant kick of spice, while the mellow, flavorful marinara had a thinner consistency that made it perfect for crostini dipping. Lobster RavioliThe sauce was unquestionably the star of the show. The pasta tasted homemade with a wonderful texture. Unfortunately, the lobster seemed either overcooked or not at its freshest, as it had a noticeable fishy flavor and a chewy texture. The fresh lump crab, however, made for an excellent garnish and added a bright, sweet contrast. Smoked Pineapple Rum Old FashionedThe pineapple-infused rum came through nicely, giving the cocktail great flavor. The smoke, however, was much more subtle than I expected. I knew it had been smoked because the bartender presented it with a plastic smoking device over the glass. I was anticipating the more dramatic wood-smoke presentation under a glass dome that I'm accustomed to. It was also missing the classic Luxardo or maraschino cherry garnish, and without any garnish at all, it felt like it was missing that final finishing touch. OverallWhile it didn't quite reach Feed My Soul status, everything was genuinely good. An added bonus is that it's within walking distance of Maryland Hall, making it a perfect stop before or after a show. ServiceFriendly staff and impressively fast service. The food arrived much quicker than expected.

Take for instance, a recent summer pizza from the Chef's own garden: "The Cuba Libra pizza ...This white pizza features mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, complemented by pork confit, chile-roasted jicama, pickled red onions, cilantro, and fresh mint." I'd never crave mint on a pizza but if Eastport's Vin 909 is serving it, I'm probably going to enjoy it. If you are the more traditional type, another seasonal pizza featured is the Yankee Pie: "family recipe crust with tomato sauce, mozzarella, ricotta cheese, summer sausage, marinated red peppers and oregano." And yes, please, to another summer, perfect-in-Annapolis feature: "Vaquero Clams: Steamed local little neck clams, English ale, bacon, grilled poblano peppers, garlic guajillo butter, fresh oregano, epazote and cilantro." I love the gigantic Vin 909 featured arugula salad. I also miss their divine french press coffees and Butterscotch Pudding with caramelita points. A little known fact: when I was there, you could purchase extra caramelita points for $2 or $3. Vin 909 is truly the best dining in Annapolis -- or Naptown -- as folks like me say.

The Mr. decided on the ribeye which he enjoyed, he was a little bummed they didn't have horseradish but Gian to the rescue with a substitute that did the trick. I was a little disappointed to see Gigi's butter cake was no longer on the menu (was my favorite!), but the Apple Crostada is still a solid choice. Our date night marked another great experience at Maggiano's.
