As many times as I've been to Maggiano's in Annapolis, I am so surprised that it's taken me this long to finally write a review. Better late than never because I've never had anything less than a five star experience at this location. One thing I love is that you can make a reservation in advance so we were seated promptly in a booth as requested for our date night. Our server of the night was Gian (sp?), he was amazing, attentive, personable and full of great suggestions. Gian recommended the Grand Margarita and I must say 10/10, highly recommend :) I started with the Maggiano's salad and went with my usual the Rigatoni D (this time I added grilled shrimp) both were excellent. The Mr. decided on the ribeye which he enjoyed, he was a little bummed they didn't have horseradish but Gian to the rescue with a substitute that did the trick. I was a little disappointed to see Gigi's butter cake was no longer on the menu (was my favorite!), but the Apple Crostada is still a solid choice. We went here for a typical date night and everything was delicious. I started off with a lemon drop at the bar while I waited on my reservation and it was made to perfection. For dinner I opted for the spaghetti and meatballs and meat sauce and my companion had the lasagna. Everything was seasoned to perfection and we finished our dinner with the butter cake with fresh cream and berries. We also both had a cocktail and I chose another lemon drop, which was also made very well and my companion had a Long Island iced tea. Our server was very sweet and accommodating, and even offered us a sample of red wine, which was very tasty. Wifey coordinated a lunch gathering for some of our close friends. We gathered for a 2pm lunch and everything was ready to go upon our arrival. We had a nice table tucked away so we could fellowship and catch up and have good ole fashion fun. Went here for mother's day last night. We had a 7:30 reservation and were seated about 20 mins later. Understandable due to the holiday. When seated we were met by our waitress Carla who was amazing and catered to our party of 6 just enough. The ambience in here is very classy but still you can come as you go. Fancy Italian place hidden in the corner of the mall, with lovely music and cozy low lighting. Servers were pretty clingy but that was probably because of the time. They were otherwise exceedingly polite and helpful. Stuffed mushrooms were fabulous, perfect texture. Mushroom ravioli was unsettlingly sweet but otherwise good. Chantel may be the best waitress I've met in the last 5 years, if not longer. She was outstanding in her initial menu presentation, excellent is answering follow up questions, visited the table frequently enough to refill water, take additional orders, etc... all that without being pushy or interrupting the conversation. The food was good- as a journeyman vegan ( who sometimes sacrifices when the right options aren't available ) I made do with the chopped salad. My mate had the chicken Parmesan. The dining room is not reminiscent of a chain restaurant but has the, let's call it, elegance of something more upscale, a nice establishment. Here once again. This time we came to celebrate our anniversary. What a spectacular night. Our server Erin greeted us with her warm and welcoming smile. Attended us each course to make sure we were happy with taste and quality. We went with the Marcos for 2 meal and it's such a great deal. Ordered calamari for the appetizer, chicken Alfredo, 4 cheese raviolis and Apple Crostada for dessert! A great recommendation made by Erin! I loved how they had a "candle" at the table. Maggiano's is one of my go-to spots for dining with my son, especially since they offer a kids' pasta option that fits perfectly with his dietary restrictions. Before heading over, we called to ask about the wait time for a party of five. They informed us there was no wait and said they'd have our table ready when we arrived. You know the Maggiano's vibe--dark, intimate, with soft lighting and elegant cloth table settings. When we checked in, we mentioned our call, and they immediately seated us at a booth. Josie, our server, greeted us shortly after, asking if we had visited before and if we were celebrating anything. My family friend had never been, but the rest of us were familiar with Maggiano's. We were celebrating my son's 3rd birthday (he was asleep at the time). To kick things off, I ordered the Bombalina for the table, and it was devoured quickly. The manager came by to check on us, and everything was going great. For our main dishes, I ordered Chef KB's Lobster Carbonara, bae had the Chicken Arrabbiata with the sauce on the side, my cousin got the Eggplant Parmesan, and my family friend chose the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. For my son, I ordered the kids' pasta. While waiting, I went to the car to grab the birthday cake, and the manager told me to give it to the hostess to refrigerate until we were ready. Though the table got a little crowded with all the food, our server did her best to clear items quickly. I've been to Maggiano's many times, and let me tell you, not a single dish disappointed this time. Everything tasted like it was made with love. We didn't finish all the food, so we packed up plenty of leftovers. When it was time for the cake, they added candles to the ones I had brought, and Josie brought it out already lit. It was such a sweet moment--we all sang "Happy Birthday," and the care they put into making my son's birthday special meant the world to us. After we paid, the manager came over with a card for my son, which included a gift card for a free dessert on our next visit. Our total came to $176.95. Our server was very attentive and friendly, and made suggestions based on our "mood". Kids meal -- spaghetti and meatballs was very good (said my 8yr old). Eggplant parm -- another fantastic meal -- eggplant was cooked just right, tender, and flavorful. I didn't have a reservation but I was able to walk in and get the last seat at the bar. The service was pretty quick. Once I placed my order it was out in maybe 15 minutes. This is one of my favorite pastas at Maggiano's, the famous rigatoni D pasta. It's so simple but so good. There's some herb roasted chicken and little button mushrooms garnished with some fresh herbs. The stars of the dish for me are the caramelized onions, the Marsala cream sauce (which is a mix of their Marsala & Alfredo sauces), & the mushrooms roasted in balsamic vinegar. The large noodles are perfect for this dish, it's great for sopping up all the flavors. I even found the recipe on their website so I can try it at home. Instead of waiting for the waitress to run my card and come back with the receipt for signature, I was able to scan the QR code on my bill to pay from my phone using ApplePay or a credit card. Nice touch. I'm glad more restaurants are adding this option. read more

Well, I literally have the same complaint review as my last three visits...Maggiano's continues to raise their prices & lower their quality. Finally, this trip will be the last of our gift cards & we're moving on to a new favorite Italian place. I understand industry times are tough, I'm ok with raising prices, but I'm not ok with diminishing quality based on cutting costs. We've always been ok spending $55+ on our meal, as the plates were hearty, loaded with ingredients. Another visit with noticeably smaller chicken parm, nearly no side spaghetti, and no melted cheese on top- the rigatoni D barely had any chicken, instead was loaded with onions & sauce. We took a tiramisu to-go; getting a very tiny, dry slice. Spending the same price on a meal we are used to a certain QUALITY (and quantity) both have diminished greatly. Dined here on Mother's Day which probably was one of the worst times to come. However I figured they would have been ok with time and seating since CoVID restrictions were in place. We waited over 47mins for one of our appetizers to Grace our presence, yes nearly an hour!!! No excuse no apologies until I asked for more bread or if they went fishing for the salmon for my entree. One of the two Appetizers came out then it took another 20 mins for the next. We only had mozzarella sticks and flatbread pizza... by this time I was full off of bread and appetizers didn't even touch my entree which took another 30mins after the last appetizer arrived. Yes out wait time was nearly 2hrs before we were served our entrees It was the kids first and last time dining here. They were hungrily irritated just as much as I was. We usually dine in and rarely do not use carryout. Regardless , this carryout experience at Maggiano's Annapolis was not the best. First of all , the food was delicious and very fresh . So that is the upside. We ordered around 3:30 pm on a Saturday and they didn't look too busy being that time of the day. We ordered 2 small side salads , a side order of meatballs , stuffed mushroom and a minestrone soup for a light dinner. On the downside, the soup was only 4 1/2 ounces.! We were shocked when we opened it up we had to measure it. COME ON MAGGIANOS ! Can you spare it?! if you were low on the soup in the kitchen, you should've told us! Then the salads we ordered werd $7.99 a piece were kind of small for that price. The stuffed mushrooms ( like most restaurant appetizers) were way over priced for $13.99. They were both ver good. Dining out has been getting very expensive since the end of the pandemic but it is getting ridiculous. We may give this place a chance again but dine in next time since the food was so good. We've been loyal customers for years, but yesterday (Sunday, Dec 22nd, 2024) left us completely disheartened. We went to Maggiano's for a late lunch, only to find out *after* ordering that the to-go menu has been canceled. Honestly, this came as a total shock--no notice, no heads-up, nothing. Even the waiter seemed just as let down, mentioning that MANY others have been complaining about this change. Seriously, why would you do this? It's clear that this decision offers no value to loyal customers like us. Until the to-go options are back, we won't be returning. So let me first start by saying that Maggianos is my favorite Italian restaurant. I definitely would've given Maggianos 5stars but due to making reservations for 7:00 for 4people and arriving at 6:30 just to check in they told us we would be seated closer to 7:00. No problem at all totally understand that because it was pretty busy. But once 7:00 came we asked the hostess what the deal was and how much Longer it would be and she said we are waiting on a table. Well we explained to her that six tables are open in different sections and her response was OH, then we had been seated once we pointed that out. So clearly they have some issues up front and that part isn't managed right. Now on to the food. Started out with the Italian sausage with the peppers and it was delicious very great taste, and of course had to get the fried Mozzarella and Wow that's just the best Mozzarella ever. I decided on Alfredo with shrimp and chicken and that was very good and my choice of pasta to take home was angel hair pasta with a big meat ball. Very delicious. Wednesday November 27th, 2019 I dined with my husband at this location to celebrate my birthday. We had such an amazing experience! We made reservations beforehand and was immediately seated. Our waitress quickly came over, greeted us, and took our drink orders. She constantly came over to check on us throughout our dinner. What made it an even better experience is that she had such a down-to-earth and bright personality (Ivelisse is the name on the receipt). My drink was delicious. My meal was tasty. My husband's chicken marsala wasn't that tasty I must admit... I remember the sauce tasting differently a few years ago. Another bonus of our dinner was that everything was affordable. I had a $10 off birthday coupon and we also did the two can dine meal for $44.50 (well, $55.50 since we added chicken to our meals). This was such a steal! We had an appetizer, two entrees, one dessert, and two classic meals to take home at $55.50. We could not believe our eyes! We don't live in Annapolis so I don't know how often we will be back, BUT I highly recommend this location! What an amazing and simply delicious restaurant! We had my bridal shower there yesterday afternoon in their private room. It was elegant, spacious, beautifully decorated, and was the perfect place for my celebration. The tables had a beautiful table cloth with lovely dinnerware and personalized menus. The courses I chose ahead of time were phenomenal. We had the Caesar and Italian salads, the crusted shrimp with lemon aioli sauce (which is one of the best things I've ever tasted), baked ziti, chicken Florentine, fettuccine Alfredo, and baked cod. Our sides were fresh asparagus and mashed potatoes. We finished with apple crostata and butter cake. Everyone was in heaven. Each course was served family style and every bite was perfect. It was well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and our server Marcus was amazing! What a kind and attentive server. It must be difficult waiting on a party of 20 but he did it with grace and everything went off perfectly. Most of my friends and family had never eaten here before but were all saying they couldn't wait to come back. The regular menu includes all these dishes, plus many more. It is well worth the price for the service and atmosphere. I love how you can get your meal served family style. It makes the experience feel more intimate and personalized. Truly, it was the perfect place for my bridal shower and I highly recommend Maggiano's for your next party, or even just a regular meal out in their main dining room. Not bad for what amounts to "chain Italian". Certainly a step above Carabba's and two steps above Olive Garden. Though lately, it would seem that Carabba's and OG have switched places; but I digress as this isn't about either of those two places. Maggiano's has an upscale look and feel, the prices will reflect it- but again, the flavors are good, though the pasta can sometimes come out overcooked. Nice selection of wines and a full service bar that mixes up some nice cocktails.
