When it first opened under new management it was great- good food, excellent service etc. However we went there recently, the experience was awful. The restaurant was empty which should have been our first clue. The staff was friendly but service was terrible. I was with four friends and they all were underwhelmed to be nice. It was so bad that they rushed to finish. When we asked for the check which was delivered - the dirty plates were still on the table. They never cleared anything until after we left. It was embarrassing and my friends had such an amazing time before will never come back. What had happened to this place again? You had it right and messed it up. read more

I attended a company Holiday Party here which included heavy hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. Service was fantastic. The shrimp , crab ball and skewered chicken hors d'oeuvres were excellent. 3.5 is my actual rating. Overall a chill place to have a drink but if your gluten free either find another place or eat before you go. Reservation process - the reservation process was fairly seamless. I called the restaurant and asked for an outside table (also in the notes section) and that we have an member with a gluten allergy. All good. When a staff member called to confirm two days before, at that time she told us that only brunch was served to the people inside -- only lunch. It's two days before the reservation so I couldn't cancel. While I felt that they weren't upfront about this switch, I figured it was fine because I looked on the website for the menu and it looked suitable. Fast forward, I get there and they tell me that that wasn't the lunch menu online. The waiter The waiter was great and attentive. All the staff were friendly from the greater to the wait staff. The food My food was ok. I got the salad topped with salmon. The salad was very smedium but the salmon was good. The salad dressing was ok. Needed more lemon and pepper. We went to dinner here by boat and was able to find a spot to dock our boat. We ate inside because there was a 40 minute wait for a table outside. There was also no AC inside, even our waiter was perspiring. I ordered shrimp salad on a croissant, my significant other ordered blackened chicken but it didn't come blackened. He had to ask for the blackened seasoning. My parents ordered the crab soup and smash burger. For our drinks, I ordered an orange crush originally but changed my mind and ordered an espresso martini. I read in the menu that it was house infused and thought the espresso was house infused. It was house vodka and tasted like water. I knew there was something wrong when the color was off. It was pale brown as opposed to a rich chocolate brown. I sent the espresso martini back and got an orange crush, which was definitely better. My parents thought the crab soup was salty and the smash burger, they ate. My shrimp salad had foo much mayo that I was bloated in a few hours. My significant other had the chicken sandwich but they could not put it in a wrap so he just ate the chicken with the blackened seasoning on the side. The food was meh but if you sit outside, it is beautiful. I can't say the drinks are great just okay, especially the price point is on the higher side. My significant other ordered the old fashioned but they didn't have an ice mold so it watered down. See what I mean about the drinks being okay. Our waiter was okay. The food was average but good and priced reasonably. The drinks on the menu were extremely weird, nothing I've seen before. Me and my wife got the pain reliever, we share a drink when we go out instead of getting separate drinks because I'm not a big fan of alcohol. As our waitress was making our drink the male waitress thought it was funny to make fun of us getting one drink. "They think they're lady and the tramp" is what he said. I brushed this off and we got the crab dip for an appetizer. After we finished our server said wow good job. I was very unhappy with my experience. To sum it up servers were very rude. We had not visited this location since before the pandemic. Today was a beautiful April day, so we made a lunch reservation. Everything was great. You can't beat the setting. I think this is one of the prettiest dock bar/restaurant views around Annspolus. Unlike elsewhere downtown, there is dedicated parking, and it is quiet enough to talk and enjoy the meal. The shrimp and corn chowder is really delicious. We had Pinot Grigio by the glass. I ordered the Beacon salad and my husband had the crabcake sandwich. It was all yummy. The scenery is gorgeous. I love the music selections for the outside area. I didn't have a great dining experience, but there is room for growth and improvements which is a plus. The service wasn't the best, the drinks were weak and the food was bland. The chef cooks "Sous Vide" style, which can leave the chicken with a tender, red tint in color, to the bone. Celebrated a birthday here for the first time today. Our server was Chelsea, who was super kind and amazing! To start we had the kale Caesar salad which was DELICIOUS, it also paired nicely with the soup of the day, which was a cream of mushroom soup. I had the butchers cut which was good, my only note was that I ordered it medium rare and it was more like medium(and little bit chewy). The grilled chicken sandwich is also a great pick and is very filling. Not pictured were the pan roasted salmon and the crab cake sandwich, both were big hits at my table. Located in a residential area in a gated community. A bit off the beaten path but well worth the find. Coastal decor is very welcoming as are the staff. We ordered the brussel sprouts as a starter. By far the best sprouts we have ever had. Grilled in a sauce that was outstanding. No complaints about the poke bowl; it was very tasty. The Seafood Scampi in a white sauce was very tasty. The aldente pasta was surrounded with fresh shrimp, muscles and clams. The dish could have used a wedge of garlic bread to soak up the sauce. My beer was served in a nice cold glass. Sadly, the lemonade didn't make the grade, the kids on the street corner could have made it better. All said the Beacon is worthy of a return visit. read more

Love the dock bar for drinks and casual meal. Crab drip and steamed shrimp are great with drinks by the yachts.

Interesting point and more like a hidden gem for local. It was a nice chill place that you can watch all the yacht and sail boats park inside this community. You have to go thru (stop) at the gate to get a pass before you can go to the bar. The service was good. Staff are very friendly and no rush on anything. You definitely can enjoy the email and chat with friends. As for the food is just average and room for improvement. The crab dip was creamy (too creamy), bread with olive oil (need more oil), the streamed mussel is fresh (but need a little salt to extract the taste), burger was ok and nothing too crazy. Parking is easy and no need to fight with crazy drivers. Overall good experience. I wish they can do a better job for their foods. read more

I want to love this spot so much because its a great location and has so much potential on the water! However, I have been many times and seem to be disappointed every time. And when i talk about it with friends, they have very similar feedack. 1- Ambiance/energy: The last few times Ive been there, there hasn't been music on. When it does go on its super low and usually rock or something- where is the energy and the "beach" vibes? When you go to Pussers or other waterfront bars, you feel like youre on vacation...this is def a simple fix! 2- Drinks: Overall, drinks are pretty good. However, the staple drink of maryland, the orange crush, disappoints. I think its because they use regular vodka instead of orange vodka. Again, another simple fix! 3- Food: Im not a big fan of the food options overall. I expect the prices to be what they are, but the options dont make it worth the $$ for me. Also, the only light option for a snack is the hummus which would be great honestly and has sounded great a couple times, but its onion hummus. Who eats onion hummus!? haha. Overall, you fix #1&2 which I think are easy fixes that would take me from a 2 star to like 3/4 stars. Just needs more energy and a great orange crush! read more

Negative experience all around. We had a reservation and we're seated immediately, but waited 15 minutes with no server before the hostess realized it and took our order. We ordered the pimento cheese dip appetizer and had finished it by the time our server took our dinner order. I ordered the seafood scampi. Mussels and class in the shells had sand in them. I had to peel the shrimp myself. The pasta was flavorless because the sauce was watery. Definitely a big disappointment. My husband ordered a blackened Mahi Mahi with a mango salsa and roasted potatoes. The mango salsa was the highlight of the meal - the fish had no flavor and the potatoes were undercooked. The server asked if we wanted to order dessert and we declined. Two minutes later we changed our minds and called her back over to order cheesecake and she said the kitchen was closed. Wanted to treat my dad to a nice lunch so you would think a water front restaurant in Annapolis would do. However, it turned out to be the exact opposite. It was Friday afternoon, we sat outside and we were one of two tables so it was not busy. Our server forgot our drinks (orange crushes), my cream of crab which I ordered a cup, was given a bowl had ALOT of shells in it. Ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and had absolutely not taste, menu said it came with bacon but had less than a slice on it. We had to remind our server after receiving our food about our drinks and only mentioned because she asked "are we getting anything to drink", and when we did receive them they were not made correctly. It was a screw driver, no triple sec, no sprite just an overall horrible experience and I would not recommend this spot nor will I be coming back. read more

Let me start with the positive. We had a lovely dinner and great service from our waitress, Candy. Food was good, came out fast, fairly priced. Now the not so good. We arrived by boat, 5 of us. I was excited when we were docking that the outside bar area was not full. We had not called ahead (our bad). I requested a table outside but was told by bartender that he was expecting a party of 6 and he could not accommodate us for 30 minutes. Explaining that two large parties like that would take up to much room (hardly anyone there). When we left after our inside dinner, there was no large party. Every set-up was now for 6. Beacon, if you want the Annapolis boating business please try to be more accommodating to boaters. read more

The restaurant looks very nice. The ambiance was fantastic. Unfortunately, the food leaves much to be desired. I ordered the arugula and prosciutto flatbread and had to return it because it was overdone. The bread for the flatbread was overcooked. When the waitress returned with the replacement, it was basically the same burnt arugula and bruschetta flatbread. In addition, it was dry. The chef basically threw arugula and bruschetta on hardened flatbread. By far, this is the worst flatbread I've ever ordered. In addition , other dinner guests in our group complained about the food quality (overcooked and under flavored) as well. read more

This is one of the best locations in Annapolis. It really cannot be beat. I am grateful for this local family that turned it into more of a local hangout than a formal restaurant. But, the food is just not up to par. People will come for the location, the outdoor bar, and the local support but will not continue to come back if they don't improve the food. Annapoltans love their hangouts but we love our food more. The menu is cobbled together and limited. The ingredients are meh. Beacon Waterfront is the new Sam's, tucked away in Chesapeake Harbor in Annapolis. They remodel turned out really nicely with a great use of space, especially outdoors at the dock bar. They added in more seating with shade and both the indoor and outdoor bar areas were well appointed and busy. We had drinks and apps which were on point. Definitely going back! read more

Yikes. We had high hopes for this restaurant, which is where we failed. We came here (group of 7) post Annapolis 10k specially because they had a brunch menu. But, they indeed DO NOT. So we're stuck with regular menu. Okay, fine. We waited quite a while for our waitress, Chelsea B., to come to us, because all of her tables were outside, and they sat us indoors. We ordered drinks and apps, and that crab dip honey, is a MUST. The hummus was also very good, and I asked if they could mix the dry rubs (Old Bay and Ranch) which turned out really good! We waited a bit longer for entrees and refill mimosas, which we did get annoyed with. We watched people come in after us, get served, eat, and leave before we ever got our food. So after we watched the second table do this, we got a little more annoyed. THEN, once we got our food, the coleslaw was brown and sour. The kitchen staff didn't notice that the coleslaw was BROWN before they sent it out?! We told our waitress, but I don't think she believed us at that moment, but brought some fries out. Didn't offer to comp any % or nothing. It was LEGIT bad. None of us ate it. After eating we got our check not split up, and that seemed to cause a whole nother issue. She really did try, and I'm sure she was overwhelmed, which points to management. I saw her on our way out and told her to please please let the kitchen know about the coleslaw because people were going to get sick. Hopefully she passed the word along. The food was not her fault, and we didn't tip her as though it was. But she was stretched thin, so management should have stepped in to help. It was a beautiful day, and we arrived by boat at about noon on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. My friend ordered a watermelon smash from our lovely server, Chelsea. Unfortunately, the cocktail was too sweet to drink, to the point of wondering if simple syrup was accidentally mistaken for water. We called our server over to tell her that the cocktail was not drinkable, and she could not have been lovelier. That's where the good part of the review ends. The bartender, her boss and whom we assume was the manager, came to the table to tell that "it costs a lot of money to make these drinks, and simply telling us that you do not like the drink is not OK." He then went on to ask (demand) to know what exactly it was about the drink that made it undrinkable. We reiterated that it was too sweet to drink. He left our table shaking his head, then came back 5 minutes later to give us a lecture on how we need to see things from his perspective. It was appalling. What I wish I'd thought to ask was if the restaurant was in such dire straights that they cannot replace it because it's too expensive, are they on the verge of bankruptcy? The food came in the midst of this insultingly arrogant man's lecture. Who knows if the food was good?
