You see, I had been through this estimate process before, and I definitely got the crap served to me, something about being a woman doing this is definitely something else... Anywho, he was straight up with his estimate and it was fair. I love the fact that they are a family owned business, you can tell with the way they interact with you and the level of respect that is given to their clients. My install was quick and painless! Two gents came over and were done in about four and half hours! I got my entire top floor re carpeted, my steps and closets. I was only responsible for moving the small things, they handled everything else. They were quick, courteous and professional! I am thoroughly pleased with everything from start to finish. We were given a price and the contract was signed that same day! The agent came the next week to measure her floor for the exact measurements and once Chris had the info he called back & the price did change by about $1k but still an excellent price! She put a deposit down when we first went there then paid the rest of invoice when they scheduled the installation. We don't know time frames for ordering products but it took over a month before she got another call to schedule the install. The installers came yesterday & were very professional & did a good job. They even matched up the molding coming into the kitchen & around cabinets and walls and it was perfect. It did take all day but overall great work and again the floor looks amazing.

I asked about underlayment and moisture barrier and Mike said they could lay tar paper. Jesse came to home he did measurements, we walked the floor, and I stated the direction(s) I would like the floor laid. Jesse subsequently sent me an estimate to sign and return so work could start. I needed more time for the money and a few months later we reconnected with modifications to the original estimate eliminating the moldings. All was fine so far. He then seemed concerned and wanted his installer to come out. The installer came out, Jesse was late, and the installer stated that plywood would need to be laid over my current hardwood floors before he would install and that the floor could not be installed in the direction(s) I previously outlined. Jesse finally arrived and I heard him, and the installer talk outside then they came inside, once again the installer doubled down. I clearly stated that I thought upselling was being done on the 11th hour. Jesse said "we don't have any of your money". He then said he did not hear anything about the tar paper. He was leaving and said he would discuss with Mike and get back with me. After a few days, I sent Jesse a text, no answer - the same for the next 5 days. It appears I have been ghosted by this company that obviously made a mistake and is not interested in working it out or my business. BEWARE OF BEING GHOSTED AND UPSELLING.

We had this all done at a really busy time for us (in hindsight, this was the mistake on our part), as we all know that these days, if you want good-quality work with installs/contractors, you have to micromanage and helicopter it, it seems. We took his word for it on a couple of things and shouldn't have. When he came to measure, I pointed to a spot where there is a dip in our basement, he said they would repair it upon installation. I was at work when the carpet was installed, and when I realized a couple of weeks later that the dip was still there, he tried to gaslight me - saying they would never agree to repair something like that, as it is not something they do since it would be concrete work, to repair a basement foundation issue. He said someone would come check it out, but they never did. It's been 2-3 months now. I had also asked him, while he was at our house, how much would need to be moved/put away. He said, "you don't have to worry about anything but just the little things and anything breakable". My husband questioned this the night before installation, as he noticed the contract stated that most things needed to be cleared, but I told him not to worry about it because Jonathan said we didn't need to. The crew tried to charge us extra fees for having to move stuff or said they would come back another day after we took care of it, but they then wanted to charge us $200-300 for not getting to do the job that day. We fought back on this, so we ultimately did not pay this fee. Jonathan was very condescending throughout this whole experience, playing dumb and somehow forgetting what he said to me. Don't trust what he says and just read the fine print.

From the very beginning , I should have been made aware of certain things when I picked out my LVF. I also got carpet in one n my rooms. Everything was wrong. The order, the installers, the carpet. All of it was done in a rush. The floors have jagged edges. The people that came by to look at the flooring which was done wrong said it makes it look more authentic. The carpet couldn't be laid properly in one area, because the base board to secure the flooring was glued down, to secure the floor, and as a divider. Therefore they couldn't get the carpet secure, under the base board divider. How do u hold down the carpet when the baseboard was glued down? Just a terrible experience from beginning to end. I wouldn't recommend Bodes Flooring to anyone. Just a bad nightmare! I spent quite a bit of money doing the whole house, and I was just another number. So as I said earlier, there are too many flooring companies, and I would not recommend or pick Bodes.

AA Exteriors was also one of the only companies willing to find a solution creating a roof that seamlessly blended and fused into my existing build for a reasonable price. Nick and his crew definitely delivered, and they were out on the job site from start to finish. While the permitting process through Anne Arundel County took a while and was by far the most difficult part, Nick worked quickly and efficiently on everything he could control including the: planning/design, demo, foundation build, decking boards, roof construction, screening, and punch out work. Through each step of the process, Nick kept the work area clean and I never felt like my dogs were at risk of injury when letting them outside to go to the bathroom. During the job, Nick made some excellent recommendations including recessed lighting around the roof of the porch and using decking boards instead of lattice to close in the deck. He also handled some extra tasks like cleaning the gutters, power washing the siding, laying down mulch and grass seed, and planting shrubbery. All this to say that Nick truly cares about the job he does and making sure the customer is happy with the finished product. I definitely would recommend AA Exteriors and I will use Nick again on future projects.
