I vacuum and it sucks up the trim. The hot glue broke off the other trim. So we go to carpet smart and they tell us it will be a couple weeks. A month has gone by and no call. No repair. We hired them for Mohawk flooring. My complaint is about their installers. Poor job, big gaps, tried filling in gaps with wood putty. Tried putting in cheap metal transition pieces. Carpet Smart did end up sending another installer to fix what the first group did. But just not a good experience overall. They hire out their installers. read more

Had carpet installed. Installers were great. But they sold me the wrong carpet color. I took the day off work, was moving in, in less than 3 days. When I went to the store they said it was right but had pic of carpet I wanted m.. took the info from the wrong sample board. Was supposed to get $500 off since it was the sales reps fault. Only took off 350. Which is horrible service. Don't base a company on customer service then ruin their experience. I wanted the most plush soft carpet for my whole 2nd floor and carpet smart guided me in the right direction. they didn't just try to sell me on the priciest carpet....they knew what I was looking for and they gave me the best option! prices are great and the installation was perfectly done. my carpet looks amazing!!! once they completed the carpet I went back to choose a runner and they really helped me a lot since I was so undecided. once we made a choice and got it installed it was so beautiful and the perfect runner for my staircase. also the carpets are very durable and I have 4 young children running all over the place and even had one of them bleed on the carpet and it came right out with the spot remover they recommended. super easy! you will be very happy with carpet smart! read more

This was literally the worst experience you can imagine for inquiring about carpet pricing/options. I kindly went out of my way to let Carpetsmart know that we went in a different direction in an effort to save their time and resources so they didnt come out and measure and estimate for a job i was not going to consider them for (after going in the direction of a family friend that referred us to a smaller local business). I received the most inappropriate email back from the "sales manager" Rob about how he expected the work to be done incorrectly by this other company and then bashed my business by saying that a competitor was better in the finale of his email. They are incredibly rude, inconsiderate, unprofessional and not even worth considering. I am not one to write a bad review but this was simply horribly handled on every level possible. read more

We recently moved into a new home that was just carpeted all throughout. We were allowed to move in early and we found some rug imperfections. After chatting we discovered the previous owners had also noticed these as well. We had the carpet company come out and we showed them the problems and they told us we should vacuum in a certain direction and with different rug types there were different imperfections. They also stated that we could contact the previous owners and that they could call and have the carpet redone or pick out a completely different style. I advised them I would contact the old owners and be in touch. I discussed this with the old owners and they stated they would personally go in to the store to handle the matter. After they visited the store they relayed to us that the owner stated he had no idea who I was and did not state anything of the sort. Mind you I had written down my name and number for him when he personally came to the house to handle the matter. I was planning on giving them a great review after meeting a Salesperson named Russ. He was very pleasant and had a great work ethic. However, the first issue was a "change" in price after being told they would price match. I ended up paying more than the quote I got from another company, but since I thought the customer service was going to be much better, I agreed to accept the sale. At the time, I paid the deposit (half down) and was GIVEN an install date and time of 9:30 am. I called to confirm the night before since I operate 2 businesses and had to be sure that I scheduled MY appointments around the install. They could NOT confirm the time and said that the Installers were home for the night. I called the next morning (day of install) since no one showed up at 9:30 am and was RUDELY spoken to by the store AND owner!!! I was called a LIAR by the owner and was left with no answers as to what time they would be there. He told me that I WROTE DOWN THE TIME WRONG. I have written documentation in handwriting by them that it was to be installed at 9:30 am on the date promised. I was NEVER given a 4 hour span (as he said they did). I was very upset and was given attitude and disrespect. Not only did they NOT show up any where near 9:30 am .. They came at 1 pm in the afternoon and stayed till 3:30 pm which in turn made me have to cancel MY appointments and lose a days work. Do not believe anything you hear from this company. They only get you in the door and then THEY are the ones who do not tell the truth. The only reason I'd give them ANY positive review is the Installers were excellent and would highly recommend them. They were a private company (I was told that Carpet Smart had their OWN installers, another lie) but the ones who did my install were amazing. read more

Walked in the store to check out the commercial carpets the salesman showed me few options, when i asked for sample the representative said that he can't give out samples due to Covid witch i understand. I simply asked him how am i supposed to know the right color if i can't take sample the guy started to get angry and yelling saying my boss said not to give out any sample if you don't like you know the door to get out haha well i was speechless never had any experience like this. DON'T DO BUSINESS with CARPETSMART!!! They will lie to you and tell you saying how their flooring product is better than a competitor and show you these film samples that are supposed to demonstrate the difference in coatings and strength. like a dummy, I purchased the product, then went home and researched it only to find that Mohawk Flooring is not better than the Pergo at The Home Depot and costs the same amount of money. I went right back in to cancel the order and the sales guy tells me he can't cancel only a manager can. the manager calls me this morning and says he can't cancel because it shipped already and there are no cancellations allowed. ON THE BACK of the sales contract, it says no cancellations but says nothing about returns or exchanges. I tell the manager that I will accept delivery but will be coming in to return it and he says, "well we won't accept it. There are no returns or exchanges." when I inform him it's not on the contract, he says, "it's posted on the wall." LMBO WHAT???? you give me a sales contract with all these no cancellation policies detailed on the back of the receipt which means I've paid for the merchandise by the time I get the contract but you don't put no returns or exchanges on the contract and tell me it's on the wall? guess who's going to court? it would seem that with all the carpeting I've bought from carpetsmart, they would value a repeat customer's business and have better customer service but I guess they'd rather make an enemy in this day and age of social media reviews read more

After posting the below comment and actually contacting a manager. Carpet Smart stepped up and dealt with the issues I had. The owner and manager are extremely helpful in rectifying the issues I had and are great people to deal with. They did not ask for me to change this or to take it down so I thought it was only fair for me to tell everyone that my below comment was because the salesman I spoke to did nothing and didn't tell his manager I even called. After submitting this and contacting the manager directly my issues were resolved in a very professional manor. Thank you upper management I appreciate your help in my issues. I just wanted to take a second here and tell you the horror story I came home to last night after my carpet was installed. 1) The installers removed and never put back some lower shelves I had in the closets. They were left in a stack in my bathroom. 2) Some of the shelves that were removed were broke in the process. 3)Some of my sliding doors were left just leaning on the wall. 4) My cable box was disconnected and left in the bathroom sink. 5)They left my house a mess. There is scrap carpet all over and no one even thought to vacuum the little pieces of lose carpet. 6)They chipped the paint off the walls. 7) Disconnected the garage door manually then proceeded to leave it disconnect for me to fix. 8) The salesman said I was getting the "best" pad you offer and it feels like I am walking on plywood. This is the absolute worst carpet installation I have ever seen in my life. I cannot believe they would have installers that feel it is okay to leave a house in that condition. POTENTIAL BUYER BEWARE: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! I have worked in customer service for over 10 years and I am not one to write reviews or to complain but this story needs to be heard! I am very unhappy and disgusted with the services at Carpet Smart. I purchased carpet 4 yeas ago for my living room and 2 bedrooms. Within a year of the carpet being laid the fibers of the carpet were starting to come apart. When I called to tell them (which took more tries to get in touch with someone than I would have liked) they sent an inspector to come out and take pictures. Eventually they approved to replace my carpeting. When I went in to re-select the carpeting the salesman (who sold me the carpet the first time) told me I bought a cheap carpet and tried to place the blame on me. It was obvious he didn't realize that he was the one who sold the carpet to me originally and swore to me it would last 10 years! So instead of getting the same grade carpet installed, I paid the difference to have what they referred to as "the top of the line" because I didn't want to be doing this again. Here we are 2 years later and the same thing is happening. The fibers are coming apart to the point where I can see tiny holes in the carpeting. I can also see the lines at the seams where two pieces of carpet were laid together. At the corners of the rooms and the door jams the carpet edges are fraying. When I called again they told me it was normal wear and tear. So how can you say this is this top of the line carpet if this carpet is worse than the first one? When I asked to speak to the manager to have a claim put through my warranty they told me no one was available. It took 3 days of phone calls to finally get a phone call back. The store manager told me that in order to submit a claim that I needed to have a bill showing I have had the carpet professionally cleaned. I never had to do that the first time around, so why now? He would not give me any explanation except that it the way it is. Why should I spend a couple hundred dollars to have my carpet professionally cleaned? For what - to find out that by having the carpet cleaned I voided my warranty and that there's nothing they can do for me? Especially since I have already paid thousands of dollars for the best carpet, expecting to never have to deal with this again. Excellent customer service from Paul and the delivery man. A little pricy so we decided to install ourselves but the salesman gave us some tips and when we told them it was for our apartment we're renting, our salesman gave us a great deal and it was delivered to us a couple hours later, once they closed. I also had to pay in hundred dollar bills that they did not have enough change for so they included it toward the delivery and said they'll go somewhere to break it, so I didn't have to worry about using my card. I'm not picky and left very satisfied, so five stars seem fitting. read more

The installers just left and I am very happy with the service, they showed up exactly when they said they would,cleaned up and took out the trash when they left. Bruce and Shawn did a great job. Our sales man Harold Wood promised me my install by the end of the week and it was done. Will definitely use them again. Terrible customer service experience. Sales guy Harod says that I will be taken good care of but gives false promises. Installer Tom leaves a mess, doesn't vacuum, and is very rude. Who does a job at someone's house and doesn't clean up their mess? When I am told the metal strip is always installed, then it isn't, and I question and request them to fix, the request extra money. I was even referred to them by Tom's sister. If he does't treat his sisters friends good, can't imagine how he treats non referred customers. Never doing business with them again! read more

We purchased carpeting from the Amherst store in October and it was installed on 11/7. Carpeting was fine as was installation. But we had a small problem we needed to get fixed, about a 10 minute job to remove a few inches of padding so that we could close our movable bookcase. It is now the end of May and we still haven't been able to get anyone here after MANY MANY phone calls and 3 visits to the store. Would like to find the owner of the company and file a formal complaint but they seem to be invisible. So if you buy from them make sure you point out any problems before they leave your house or you will never see them again. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. We came in and spoke to a Frank. He was the rudest person I've encountered in a very long time. Frank treated us like we were morons any time we asked a question. At some point I made a remark about putting a different type of carpet in the basement because of moisture (avoiding padding due to mold and mildew) and he looked and me and said "no carpet is gonna remove moisture it's not some magic carpet". Then he continued to make snarky remarks and said he would have to add a 100 dollar fee for some asinine reason. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. A day later we went down to Kenny Carpets on the corner of Walden and Union and purchased our carpet from a very pleasant older man, he was friendly and helpful plus it was cheaper! read more

The entire experience with this company was horrible. The people they hire to install the carpeting are incredibly rude and unprofessional. We called the store because they were late and when they finally arrived, they made rude sarcastic comments in regard to the phone call. They entered my home with the stench of cigarettes and didn't have the courtesy to introduce themselves. We tore the old carpet out ourselves prior to their arrival and the guy was angry because we hadn't swept the floor and said he doesn't pay his guys to sweep. He swore at us and said he was going to charge us for tearing out the carpet. We kicked them out and they refused to leave the carpet we paid for, essentially stealing our property. When we called the store representative he did not apologize for the installers behavior and said he could have someone else install it 5 days later. In early February we went Carpet Smart store #902 at 2500 Walden Ave. We were helped by a salesperson, Brian, who helped us select our carpet. He said he would send out a contractor to measure our home. Nick came to our home and overmeasured each room which escalated the price dramatically. We took our own measurements and went back. After talking with Brian for hours we agreed to a carpet and price. Nick was going to come one last time and remeasure our home. He came and measured again. When my husband called to say his measurements were off again, "Brad" got on the phone and was yelling and extremely rude to my husband. We then went to the store where Brad continued to antagonize my husband. We scheduled our install and Nick came today. We took out all of the old carpet and padding. Nick installed the living room and my daughters bedroom and pack his materials to leave because he wanted my husband to scrape nails. My husband could not do this with his bare hands. When my husband stepped outside to call and tell me what was going on, Nick jumped in his car, backed up in the driveway and HIT my husband with his vehicle! At this point we have paid $1600, have carpet and no padding and no installation. This company's treatment and customer service is horrendous. I would NEVER reccomend them. These people have been totally unprofessional and just scam artists. read more
