I had a very disappointing experience with Carpet Spectrum in Lomita due to errors and a lack of transparency in the estimating and proposal process. An estimator came out in the morning and told me I would receive a proposal that evening. Two days passed with nothing. I had to call the store, and only then was I told someone would send it later that day. When I finally received the proposal, a major and costly item was missing: removal and haul-away of the existing flooring. The proposal was also not itemized, which is concerning for a high-ticket project. Additionally, the proposal included furniture moving, which we never discussed. I have no furniture to move other than a bed. On top of that, the flooring material I selected was priced higher per square foot than in surrounding flooring business I asked for the proposal to be corrected and itemized and requested a price adjustment. I was told he would check and get back to me the next day, but the answer was no. The following day, when I asked again for a corrected, itemized proposal it was corrected without itemized although I did know already some of the charges without it being on the proposal I agreed, I then was told a contract would be sent the next day Instead, I received a new proposal that was several hundred dollars higher, now including an added charge for stair nosing that "needed to come from the manufacturer." This was confusing because the original proposal already included a manufacturer shipping fee for the flooring even though it wasn't on the proposal that was learned as I ask what are the charges for . They don't itemized but very important to the buyer It raised concerns that items were not coming from manufacture because they would have already known about the stair nosing so I'm being charged falsely as listed manufacturer they can only get the nosing from manufacture so basically this proposal is all over the place If the removal of existing floor was not caught they would of charged the extra fee instead of coming back about the noising At that point, I decided to go elsewhere I also ask to speak with the owner a few different times trying to get it right never did get a phone call I did speak with the principal there , expressed my concern over the missing and unclear proposal I was told ill give the other guy your message to call you I lost trust at the very beginning when I saw the missing work too be done. This should have never happened . I caught there mistake Carpet Spectrum then declined my project. Again I declined first they could not handle the truth I gave them feedback that accuracy and clarity are critical--Too many important details were missed, changed, and unclear. My advice to others: review every detail carefully. Make sure everything you want is clearly listed in the proposal and contract, or it may become an unexpected extra charge. You were one of the guys I spoke to Jason and you passed it on without fixing the mis information you left out on the proposal not a good start you must be accurate. Caution to all read more

I searched everywhere trying to find Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring for my kitchen and family room that closely matched the hardwood flooring throughout the remainder of my home. Once I saw the rating on Yelp that mentioned that Carpet Spectrum was a Costco vendor, I decided to stop by there. The salesperson was extremely helpful and spent a substantial amount of time with me. I believe her name was Maggie. I checked out a couple of samples and found the perfect match! I absolutely love my new flooring and chose Coretec (Marsh Oak). I also purchased reducers (moulding that creates a smooth transition between two types of flooring). They were too thick to accommodate my sliding pocket doors so I drove over to Carpet Spectrum last week and spoke with Natalia. She found a thinner reducer that matched my flooring sample and contacted a sales representative at The Mill; a business in Carson, California that specializes in moulding. They had it in stock so I drove over there and I was able to exchange the thick reducer I had purchased for the thinner one they had in stock at no additional cost. It was installed and looks great! I had visited quite a few other flooring retailers and it was surprising how uninformed and unhelpful the staff at most of these places were. I wasn't looking for anything bizarre or special. I had my floors replaced a little over five years ago, and used Carpet Spectrum as Costco's vendor. We've had a couple of issues with the luxury vinyl planks over the years, and they've always come quickly to fix whatever was wrong. But this time, several planks were separating in our kitchen and they were even starting to splinter apart. Today Carpet Spectrum sent the original installer back out to look at the problem, and he told us there was an issue with the foam that Shaw used to recommend be placed under the planks. Basically, it squished just enough to make the planks bend and flex, and over time high traffic areas sometimes had the issue we were seeing. We didn't have enough leftover planks from the original install to replace all the damaged ones, and the style/color we used has since been discontinued. I was already searching the website for a new style (and bracing myself for the multi-thousand dollar bill), when the installer told me they had found two boxes of the old planks at a warehouse in Carson and they were driving them over. A full day of installation later, he had completely replaced the part of the floor that had the issues and it looks like new (I guess because it is!). And they didn't charge me a thing--not for the boxes of planks nor for the day of labor. I am thrilled with this kind of customer service and wanted to type it up while it was fresh in my mind. The toilet was never sealed properly by your installer who is obviously not a licensed plumber. He admitted he was having trouble setting the toilet and even broke the fill hose for which he had no replacement. I had to go buy one and bring it back to him. You never offered to come out to inspect the damage and review the pictures and videos documenting the leak. My licensed plumber is 100 percent sure the toilet was never sealed properly by your floor installer. Why should I use my homeowner insurance for your mistake. I find it interesting that in the 30 years I've been in this home the toilet never leaked until your guy reinstalled it. Mistakes happen but at least own it and make it right. When we were deciding what flooring to use for our whole home remodel, I wanted either hardwood or something that looked like it, and wanted it to be consistent throughout the whole house. After talking to people that have hardwood, laminate or bamboo in their kitchens, I decided that those options wouldn't be durable enough for us. Several people who had tile in their kitchens also warned me that it would be tough on the back and that things that drop on it would be very likely to break. At a loss for another alternative, I asked for advice on Houzz, and several people recommended Karndean's luxury vinyl plank. It looked great on the Karndean site, and I was pleased to see that one of the few Karndean retailers in So. Cal. was near me: Carpet Spectrum. I was able to see a wide variety of Karndean products in the spacious Carpet Spectrum showroom, and chose the medium-colored Van Gogh Honey Oak. The people at Carpet Spectrum were very helpful and Jason, who handled our account, was so knowledgeable, professional and helpful that both my contractor and my designer commented on how impressed they were by him. We wound up installing about 2,800 sq. ft. of the flooring and the process was completed within a week by a very professional father/son team. I can't overstate how much I love this floor. It's nice to walk on, even in bare feet, and looks fantastic. I'm including a photo that shows the same floor in different rooms. In real life, it looks more like the lighter one. It has a variety of color tones, so it matches anything. It's super easy to keep clean and is more durable than hardwood. About five years ago my wife and I purchased some high quality carpet from Carpet Spectrum. They were the most expensive, but they seemed nice and the installer was a good guy. So we diced to go back. We went in on a Saturday, and we were literally the only customers in the store the whole time. I literally couldn't believe how far the customer service had fallen. I don't like to have a sales person hanging over me, but give me a break! After filling ignored and generally I valued, we decided to leave. About 9 months ago we decided to replace some ugly beige carpet in our condo. No matter how much you clean it the dirt and stains were a issue. It was just so frustrating to us. We chose the Shaw carpet. It had a beautiful mixture of navy blue and grey blended together. It was awesome. The employees that work there are so helpful. And they are so thorough.
