My refrigerator finally took its last breath a few weeks ago and I had a new one delivered. But when they tried to install it in the nook, it didn't fit because the persistent leak from my dying refrigerator had warped the old wood laminate that was underneath it. So while my refrigerator remained plugged in in my living room, I needed to find a good flooring company asap! I called around like 8 places and no one was able to come out sooner than in a week (some told me two weeks!) when I finally called Flooring Warehouse Center. Called to having flooring priced. Guy who works there was unwilling to help and told me to as much. Said I should go back to the guy who helped me find the flooring I wanted. I found the flooring I wanted myself by looking around. It's like saying you should by the car at the dealership you first saw the car bc they helped you find it. Only reason I can think of is they plan to rip me off on the price or they are sexist and say that because I am a woman and therefore, I should just be ok with whatever price I get instead of giving me a straight answer. I don't know how many times I said to my wife, honey you need to meet Muhammad, you're going to love him. (I was put in charge of floors.) They still haven't met yet, but that's only temporary, because soon enough I'm inviting this man over for dinner in our new house, with the gorgeous floors he guided us toward. Because folks, this man is a gem. When I arrived at FWC, Muhammad greeted me warmly right away. He then began running through a list of pinpointed questions to help both of us quickly get to exactly what I was looking for. I could tell he had been doing this a long time. It didn't take much for him to understand exactly what the right floor was. He was honest, he was thoughtful, and he legitimately went back and forth, deliberating what the right product was for my house. We eventually settled on a floor that we both agreed was the right choice. He laid down different samples, pointing out the way the light caught the texture on the wood (or vinyl in my case--but I'll be damned if it doesn't look like wood). I bought a box with a few planks to bring to the house and look at in context. As I was leaving, he nudged me: take this one too. He was offering for me to borrow his floor sample. I told him that color was too light for what I wanted. He said, "trust me." Well lo behold, when I got everything into the house to feel it out, this crazy mf was right. We went with the backup option that he insisted I take with me. When it came time to place the order, we weren't sure exactly how many square feet we would need. So Muhammad came to my house and measured every room. I'm not promising he'll do that for you, I think I'm Just probably his favorite customer. But maybe! Once the floors were in, my man came through with baseboards and door casing to compete the fresh, crisp, modern look. And the minute I asked, his guy was there *the next day* to install. Incredible. You may have noticed FWC has pretty stellar reviews. For the random disgruntled reviewer who disagrees, please ignore them. Muhammad is a very real, straightforward, yet quirky individual, and not like many people I've ever met. In the best way possible. What else can I say? I wanted new hardwood throughout my whole house and had received a quote from Costco that almost made me faint. So I checked out some other hardwood floor companies that either had a small selection of samples to look at and/or non helpful sales people. So I took to my trusty YELP and found Mohammad in Gardena. Mohammad is a straight shooter and not an aggressive smarmy salesman. He has a very large selection of flooring to choose from and the great thing is that he'll tell you EXACTLY what you need. He earned our business immediately. Our kitchen floor proved to be tricky in that our cabinets were installed upon 3 levels of existing flooring. We couldn't take the cabinets out in order for the crew to demo the floor underneath them. Mohammad's crew was able to precisely trim the floor as close to the cabinets as one could get and they were able to do it without damaging anything. They did such a clean job and then replaced our baseboards so you cannot even tell that our cabinets are sitting on 3 inches of flooring. Everything came out flush and smooth and blends nicely. Another word about Mohammad's crew - they were so hardworking and professional. They showed up on time every morning and they did a wonderful job installing our floors. I was going with Empire Today and they ended up canceling my installation the day before because they didn't have the product on hand (appointment was booked 2 weeks in advance. The carpet in my office came from Carpet Clearance Center. The only way one will find out about this bargain place is by word of mouth or if one drives by and stops in. According to the owner, Mohammad, he has been at this location for 13 years and has not done any type of advertising! The center has tons of carpets piled up as well as lots of hardwood flooring. Everything is a bargain. Across the street is Home Depot and still this place can survive very well due to their quality and low pricing. Mohammad is very straight-forward and honest in his dealings. If you need new carpet, hardwood flooring, or tiles for your home or office then a great source to check out is this place. I went to see about getting our family room installed with wood laminate. Mohammad discussed with me the pros and cons and gave me some good options. I decided to go with carpeting (which was what is currently installed). While do that I asked what it would cost to carpet my whole 2nd floor. I was surprised at the total cost. Mohammad gave me a very fair price and I was sold. I had some near-term scheduling conflicts and Mohammad was very flexible in accommodating my free days. I had my carpet installed about a week ago and I love it. For the price I feel it is an outstanding value. He helped me choose what might look good in my home and I decided to go with the less expensive carpet. After installation I was impressed with how good it looked. The pattern really looks good. BTW, the installers were terrific. They did a super professional job. Areas at bathroom doorways, around the fireplace and the stairs look really good. I had a little issue with phone wiring and they were very accommodating by lifting already installed carpeting and running a small cable underneath. Not only did Mohammad give us the best estimate of the day he actually sat and explained the difference between the woods and helped pick out the best type for our house.
