Awful food. Couldn't steam broccoli after 2 attempts...still mush. Manager tried to help but it was pitiful. Server was not well-trained.

Felt like giving Carrabba's another chance since I'm in another state. Had Caesar salad, hopefully they have anchovies, no respectable caesar salad should do without it and pork chops with sauté spinach. Well guess what they have anchovies, boy that enhanced the caesar salad greatly, yum. I made a comment to not overcook the pork chops. That is fairly impossible since the pork chops that you get in the markets are too lean, which makes it nearly impossible to undercook pork chops unless you can find pork chops that are well marbled. The pork chops did come out a little overcooked but the spinach was done very well. They had cannolis, so I couldn't resist, they were no match for the ones I get in San Francisco, but that's at least 16 hours away by car. Not bad for a chain. read more

The food is always solid here. I always get the Johnny, so chicken Bryan and steak. The bread is awesome. But I have to say, I really dislike the remodel. It feels like a cafeteria now - and a lower end, restaurant when I always held carabbas to a higher standard than most places in the valley. I loved the home feel of the old space and I loved the bar area where they cooked our food. Now I feel like I'm eating at cafeteria that's closed off and I am paying high prices. Thank goodness I didn't get a table in the back section of the restaurant because then I'd have to look at the expediting area the whole night which would definitely make me not want to come back. Our service was very lack luster tonight. Not sure if it's because of the remodel, but I constantly had to ask for refills for my drink, and they forgot and item from my order, and but the time the brought it out, I literally was done with my whole meal and had my plates all stacked up. They then asked if they could box it for me and take it home. No, no thank you, I wanted it with my meal. "Ok since you don't want it I'll make sure you don't get charge for it"...which makes me wonder if it placed it on our table if I would've gotten charged for it read more

There is an old saying: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Carrabbas was never a beautiful restaurant, but the new remodel is definitely a huge step backwards. The way it looks now, i fully expect to see a "$4.99 all-you-can-eat pizza!" sign out front. The lighting is horrifically bright, the booths are much less roomy, and the tables and chairs look like they came out of a cheap corporate cafeteria. It honestly feels like a run-down Zupas. That said, the food is still the same and relatively good. But I think we will be ordering takeout instead of coming in. I would rather eat it in my car. read more

WOW DO NOT ORDER TO-GO FROM HERE. We waited an hour for our doordasher to bring our food, upon delivery the entire order was wrong. Wrong entrees, missing entrees, completely wrong sides, missing dessert and bread. No napkins. No silverware. I am beside myself. When I tried calling their phone number, a woman answered and asked me to hold to get her manager. FIFTEEN minutes later and was still on hold. When I hung up and called back twice, no answer. Are you joking??? If you are the owner or manager, fire the to-go girl from 12-28-23 evening because she clearly is unqualified to put the right order in the right bag. And clearly dodged our call to save herself. So gross. I will never eat here again and I will make sure to spread the word. read more

My wife and I visited yesterday, The place was packed, everyone was helpful and kind even though it was very busy. Our waitress Abby was AMAZING. Very knowledgeable, we asked a lot of questions but she was quick and helpful answering all of them. We each drank like 3 glasses of water but she filled them before we ran out. Impressive stuff. Food was amazing. There are steakhouses close bye but I LOVE Rib-eye with the Bryan topping. Amazing. From fresh bread, then salad and soups to our entree, everything was delicious and well plated. Umm, well...we used to LOVE Carrabas in the past, but this trip - just last night in fact - was less than spectacular. So, the last time we patronized this establishment was three years ago...October of 2018 to be exact...and then we gave Carrabbas five stars - because, well - it was really GOOD! Now, yeah...not so much. So what was different? Last night the menu seemingly lacked the warmth of the past, but what we really dramatic was the decor. Think mid-western cafeteria and you'll have the same look-and-feel from last night. It just lacked the warmth of a what was a cute Italian restaurant chain that we've enjoyed so many times in the past...there in Orem and all across the US. That and food was less than inspiring. It seemed to be assembly-line Italian food...or better yet food that was produced by a chain (like Carrabbas) that had been recently bought out but some large restaurant conglomerate ("Big Restaurant?") because the chain was a cash cow and a really money maker...at least until you start messing with the menu and decor. No? Yes, the wait staff was excellent, and specifically Becky (Rebecca) hustled and took great care of us (and was even acting as the co-manager that night as well...double duty!) But that can't cover for the 'meh' we felt when we left the place and the part of four came back with a bill for $115. And that's just a damn shame knowing what Carrabbas used to be. Three Stars for great service, countered with middle-of-the-road Italian food, and less than appetizing decor. read more

I've been to this location several times. Last night was an awful experience. Had the meatballs as an appetizer they were crunchy on one side. Salads never arrived at the table, drinks were never refilled. The veal Marsala was like chewing rubber. The chicken marsala was burnt. They brought out a second chicken marsala, which was also burnt. after waiting almost 2 hours. Finally went to the front desk to pay our check. Worst service I've ever had. I usually don't ask to talk to the manager, but he happen to bring out the second chicken marsala. He offered to comp one of the entrees. Neither entrée was edible. The garlic mashed potatoes tasted like they had mashed with water had absolutely no garlic taste. The fries we're not fresh potatoes and were served cold with no dipping sauce read more

I wouldn't given them any ‼ What was suppose to be a birthday dinner for my daughter turned out to be a headache & a pain in the ass! we left starving & frustrated! Three of us ordered the pork chop and it came out raw. One of the chops was bleeding when the waitress brought it out. We totally were cool and understanding until Alex the waitress took it back to cook longer and brought it back a second time and they all were still raw after waiting for over an hour. Alex and another waitress told us "we have a new cook" and laughed about it. The manager Leo came to our table and doesn't apologize to us after waiting for over an hour and says to us "the cook has been here a month and he is still learning how to use the grill" and said he will take care of the bill. Alex comes back with the check and we had to pay $6 for a small 2oz cup of sauce for the pork chop that we never ate because the chops were raw! We refused to pay for it and finally she took it off the bill. Before you eat here make sure you find out if the cook is new and how long he has been there but mostly if they know how to use the grill! read more

We went here on a Sunday. They weren't very busy, and when we sat down we waited over 20 minutes while every server looked at us and walked by. No one wanted to take our table (of 2 people). So after waiting and making awkward eye contact with servers, we just left. Never even got to try any food. Bummer. read more

I have frequently dined at Carrabba's in Austin TX and this is the third time eating at the location in Orem. Visited with my wife and son. Two of us ordered the basic grilled salmon dish and both were undercooked and raw in the center.......quite unpleasant in fact My son ordered a pasta entree and was satisfied Our server was Alex and his work is excellent the bill, including a glass of wine and a gratuity, came to over $95 which seems way over the top for what we received that's all.......I said a three-star experience and my wife says four read more

Went early 5:00 so no waiting Can't believe I drove all the way to Orem for this. With all of the restaurants in Orem, why would you go there? First of all, if the music didn't kill you maybe the rancid-tasting olive may. The drinks were pretty good, the bread was hot but the oil really tasted rancid. Lentil soup was good. It had been a few years since we had eaten at Carrabba's but I remember loving the olive oil and fresh herbs they had. Well, not anymore. I had the Mahi which was a little better than okay and my husband had the veal marsala which was close to okay. The garlic mashed potatoes, well how do you mess them up? Carrabba's is the only chain restaurant I like and go out of my way to patronize. Their food is just that good. Their Pollo Rosa Maria is a perfect chicken dish. The hubby is in love with their pork chops and sautéed spinach. Their bread herb concoction is heavenly. We ordered their blackberry sangria and it was delightful. Ian was a great server. We deducted 1 point from a perfect score for 2 reasons... The new renovation and design is a big NO. It feels cold and sterile now. Not warm, open, vibrant and inviting. We hope that this is not the way the rest of the Carrabba's are moving. But specifically to this location, their cooks grossly overcooked our broccoli. It was a gray pile of mush and never should have been served to a table like it was. We sent it back and 8 minutes later it returned looking like a carbon copy of the first batch. Ian, even noted that it looked pretty pathetic. This is the kind of broccoli that we had as a kid, before cooking TV, where our moms steamed veggies to the point of disgusting. The short tip - go with the steak. Or one of the grilled items. Coming here for the pasta seems like a waste of your dime and your time. I mean, sure the pasta is fine. But the menu offers so much more! Carrabba's is one of the nicer restaurants in Orem and offers a quiet atmosphere where you can actually enjoy conversations. They do also have a large room you can reserve for large groups/parties. I was extremely satisfied with the food. Ordered the Tuscan grilled sirloin and prosciutto-wrapped shrimp. Shrimp was fine but that was a delicious steak. And a great cut as well. Not loaded with gristle like some steaks are. My friend also loved the grilled pork chop. Believe it or not, I was even impressed with the side salad. The house dressing has that little extra something that was really nice. Definitely a place I will visit again. read more

I went there for lunch on 08-17-2023, and experienced terrific, first-class service by a guy whose name I don't remember and a young lady who seated me. I asked for a window booth, and got exactly what I wanted. The place was quite cold, possibly because it was over 90 outside. I didn't complain, but I overheard the ladies two booths over complain twice about it, and the server apologized for the temperature. I ordered the Italian Classics Trio, even though it was WAY overpriced, IMO, plus a soft drink. I suppose I was paying for the decor, which was very nice and professional. The fettucine alfredo was absolutely wonderful tasting, but the fettucine noodles were a bit dried out. Not crunchy, but like it had been sitting awhile after being cooked. The lasagna tasted marvelous and was the most perfect item on my plate. Its texture, taste, and temperature were perfect, IMO. The chicken was tasty, but tough, and dried (almost burnt) around one of the edges. I ate about a third of the chicken, until I got tired of sawing through it, and ended up throwing out most of it. If the prices were equal, I would say that Olive Garden has Carrabba's Trio beat by a fair margin, mostly because of the texture. The taste and temperature were comparable. But when you throw price into the equation, Olive Garden has Carrabba's beat by an even larger margin, IMO. read more

Love Carrabba's! Easily the best Italian franchise restaurant around. Blows away Olive Garden & Beppo's and can even compete with a great local place, especially in Utah County. I've had nearly everything on the menu and much of it is good to excellent. If you are in the mood for steak, try the Steak Marsala. Excellent cut of meat, nice charred grill flavor on the outside and tender red or pink middle (depending on your preference) with a wonderful buttery & mushroom marsala sauce on top. The Pollo Rosa Maria is another favorite with a cheesy middle inside of grilled chicken. The grilled asparagus side is delicious as well. I have to mention the off-menu (but they will make it to order) Luna Carabba which is ravioli & peas with white sauce and a knock-out cheesy flavor my wife gets nearly ever visit. Their Italian sodas are great and come with a free refill. My kids get a smoothie nearly every time they come (strawberry banana is their favorite). We also love the bread with oil & spices they bring out at the start of the meal. Perfect crust around a soft, flavorful center. The decor is romantic, private, and wonderful for dates or groups. Prices aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended favorite place of ours. read more

This was the worst dining experience I've ever had. My family and I were seated and then waited for 1.5 hrs to only get our drinks and salad. Meanwhile, a couple that came in a half hour after us were finishing their entire meal before we got our salads. Then a guy who came in after us got his entire order within 15 mins of arriving and before we got our salads. Also, while we sat and waited an unacceptable amount of time, other employees came by and would stare at us with dirty looks for no reason. We sat patiently and we're very polite. It was the weirdest thing I've ever experienced. Once we saw others, that had been there a fraction of the time, get their entire order before we got any food, we asked for the check and left. Fortunately, we didn't have to pay, but no reason was given to why we were literally excluded from all other patrons in the restaurant. I will never go back to Carrabba's again and I will tell everyone about their horrible service. read more

Food was great, server was great. But the customer service of other employees was quite embarrassing. The manager walked around with a celsius in his hand and the other employees were sitting at a booth watching march madness and yelling profanities quite loudly. When we first got there a server had to seat us and let us know he was not happy to do that and had no idea where the hostess was. I'm not usually one to complain about customer service because I know some days are off days, but I felt like this experience just kept getting worse with how unprofessional all the employees were. I have always liked going to this restaurant, even though lately the service hasn't been that great. Its not bad enough to stop eating there, and the food always tastes good. I have eaten both in the restaurant or I get delivery through door dash. One gripe I have with the delivery (and this issue isn't an issue with this restaurant alone, it's an issue everywhere with takeout) is that they put hot food with cold food in the take out bag. This delivery had my cheesecake slice directly on top of my hot entree. And one of the salads on the other. I had to throw away both the $10 slice of cheesecake and the salad because they were hot. Cold food and hot food should not be put into the same bag. Anyway, this isn't the reason for the one star. The reason is I'm up, right now, at 2am with horrible diarrhea and stomach pain. The Fettuccine Weessie gave me food poisoning. I have really enjoyed eating at this restaurant over the years, and have never walked out of the place without spending around $100 but I think I'm done here, this was the final straw. $80 for diarrhea isn't my idea of money well spent. read more

I've gone to Carraba's over the years for big events, mostly school dances and graduation celebrations. It used to be a four- or five-star rating for me. However, I just took my significant other for an anniversary dinner and it wasn't the experience I remember. When we were sat at our table, it took 30 minutes for the appetizer to come out and another 45 for our entrees after that. When we received our food (the chicken parm and fettuccini carabba), and it wasn't even good. I've ordered these items in the past and I was really disappointed that the quality has dropped so much. The chicken parm was cold when I received it, and my partner and I just asked for to go boxes and got out of there; we had other plans we skipped because we didn't expect to be at the restaurant for that long. I want to be clear: all the staff were amazing. They're the reason this review isn't one star. Our waitress was very apologetic for the long wait, as the kitchen had supposedly gotten backed up, the hostesses were really kind and personable and chatted while we had waited for our table. All in all, the people were friendly and nice, the service was just extremely lacking as opposed to what it's been in the past. Before going to Carabba's this time, I had looked at reviews and saw a few that the restaurant had gone downhill. I kinda wished I had listened. read more

I really used to enjoy coming to the Carrabba's by University Mall. The food and service always seemed to be impeccable. The staff and management seemed to really go leaps and bounds to make their customers happy. It is rare to see that in a franchise restaurant. This last visit will definitely be my last. They were out of so many items. Also, I could not help but be unpleasantly distracted by their recent remodel. It really detracted from the ambiance and intimacy this location was known for. I have read the other recent reviews and many of them highlight their concerns about how ill thought out this remodel has been. The lighting was way too bright! We tried to order drinks. Every one we ordered they were out of. They waited until after we had ordered our food and been waiting for over 15 minutes to inform us of their shortages, etc. Not having the ordered drinks to compliment the meal further detracted from the experience. We stuck with water. The food we ordered also did not measure up to what we were used to from previous visits. After taking that first bite, our bill could not come fast enough. I guess all good things really don't last forever! It's such a shame. This was one of my favorite spots for a nice quiet night out in Orem. read more

Carrabba's spaghetti was Terrible, Terrible, Terrible !!! This evening I am staying at the Provo Marriott and decided to give UBER EATS a try. I ordered spaghetti w/meat sauce and meatballs. The UBER EATS part worked outstandingly without incident and delivered on time. The quality of the spaghetti however, was very disappointing. The spaghetti was overcooked and mushy. No utensil's, napkins, and no cheese was included with the delivery. I am very concerned with ordering anything from this restaurant again. It's seem's like they know it is a UBER EATS order and just throw the order together without regard to quality of food going out the door. read more

We came for a late lunch while Christmas shopping. We were seated right away in a booth, which I prefer. Summer was our waitress, and she is awesome. She kept the water coming and was on top of everything. She brought us our check right when we wanted it (not too early, not too late). The bread is yummy and has the right amount of salt- you can taste it but it doesn't overpower the bread. I love their spiced oil dip! I got a dinner meal- the chicken trio. I love all the different kinds of chicken. They all have a nice bit of char on the chicken, and the different toppings make them all taste unique but awesome. Terrible experience. If I hadn't been preoccupied with my company Christmas party I would have asked to see the manager. We had a large group, 32 People, which I know, I've been a waiter, can be very tricky. But also very rewarding tip-wise if you do well and are pleasant. Didn't get either. They only had 2 waitresses helping us. I had to call one out after my drink was empty for almost an hour, the food took forever and was very cold, ordered medium steak, got rare. Had to ask as I was leaving for the dessert I ordered after my wife already got hers. Plus it wasn't even amazing food. Sorry, I prefer Olive Garden. Just not a good experience. I don't think we'll go back. Thank goodness it was on company dollar because I wouldn't pay full price for it! read more
