Minor, the owner, pulled Foreman on day of our only hall bathroom renovation without any communication to us. Minor never told me "2nd Foreman" was taking over project and it took a steep nose dive because lack of communication from Minor. If 1st Foreman stayed, we wouldn't have had any issues cause he knew exactly what we wanted. I accidentally wrote and gave check from wrong account and I corrected it by gaving Minor another check in it's place. Requested not to cash original check, Minor assured me that it wouldn't be done and they deposited both checks. By the time we realized our money was gone, they said they were going to "look into it and get back to us", in the end Minor or Barb never said a word about it to us. They had to send in someone else to do their dirty work because there didn't have the guts to do it like grown up responsible business owners. Several wrong items were ordered without our knowledge, no final confirmations of what we wanted, no transfer knowledge went from 1st Foreman to 2nd Foreman, shower doorframe installed backwards. Eventually 1st Foreman came in a couple of days to correct mistakes until he got pulled in for something else (probably a bigger bill to put in their greedy pockets). On top of that, the "2nd Foreman" wasn't paid for any of his work along with his assistants. Minor and Barb Carranza got paid over $21k for a incomplete bathroom and took every single penny for themselves. We're still left with a bathroom that still needs fixing. From the day I requested a proposal to the day of final inspection Joey and Carranza proved to be stellar in their workmanship and professionalism. The quote for our new roof and siding was the lowest of the four we received but it was the consistent follow up from Joey that sealed the deal. Lowest bid but the highest quality of work. TLDR; DO NOT USE CARRANZA ROOFING - in my experience they are unprofessional, have poor communication and customer care, provide incorrect estimates (by their own admission), and are generally unreliable. I sought out Carranza Roofing to address a roof leak issue that resulted in water entering one of my upstairs bedrooms through the ceiling. Carranza sent someone out to inspect my roof in the area of the leak and provide me with an estimate. The individual they sent out advised that all that was necessary to address the water intrusion was to address nail pops. They provided a seemingly reasonable estimate. After having other companies inspect and prepare estimates, I decided to go with Carranza. This is where the trouble began. I contacted Carranza to confirm that I would be moving forward with their estimate and communicated the urgency of this request - specifically that my insurance company was moving quickly to address the damage to the interior of my home (including opening the bedroom ceiling and removing all insulation) as well as the fact that rain was expected in the coming days. Carranza assured me that they would act quickly and address the nail pops prior to the upcoming rain storm and advised that a scheduler would contact me to get the appointment set up. After hearing nothing for several days, I reached out to them to reiterate the urgency of this request. They assured me that they would send out the repair person prior to the day that rain was inspected. They sent me an appointment confirmation for the day before rain was expected. The individual who was to perform repairs indicated that he would not be able to make it the day he was scheduled to come. They rescheduled it for 7:30am the next day, which they stated would be "before the rain was supposed to start." 7:30 am came and went and I had not heard from Carranza. I called their office and did not get an answer, so I left a message. I called again at 9:00am, as they still had not come and again there was no answer. I received a call at approximately 9:30am from the owner of Carranza advising that he was 20 minutes out and said nothing else. When the owner arrived, he - for the first time - told me that he did not come to do any repairs but came to provide a second opinion on what was needed. I reminded him that this repair was time-sensitive and that his office had delayed this repair for approximately a week and a half. I additionally told him that I would of course welcome his opinion, but I would have liked for it to have taken place much earlier. I also would have preferred that this had been communicated to me before he arrived given that the appointment I had made was for repairs to be made in advance of the rain. He responded with excuses that he was only first made aware of this problem the day before and there was nothing that he could do. Mr. Carranza went up on the roof, took photographs, and told me that the initial estimate was incorrect and he would have to prepare a new one recommending that the whole back section of my roof needed to be replaced. He told me that his own employee "failed me" and that he couldn't stand behind his own repair person's recommendation. He proceeded to blame me for this, saying that I must have told him I wanted a cheap repair and he was attempting to accommodate me. This is a classic bait and switch - getting me to go with their estimate over others with an initial, reasonable estimate, and then sending the "more knowledgeable" owner to come in and upsell on a larger repair. I requested that he, at a minimum, tarp my leaking roof to prevent additional water intrusion into my home given the delays. Mr. Carranza refused. Given his unprofessional and unreasonable actions, I made clear that I would not be going with his company. read more

I would give Carranza Roofing and Remodeling 0 stars if I could. Frankly, you should find another company to do whatever work you're considering. First, the salesman did not document the replacement of our skylight properly during the estimate. This led to uncompleted repairs which were never rectified by Carranza despite it being their fault. (See photos of old skylight/window and current photo of their shoddy workmanship) Our roof was installed in late April. The job took place over the span of three days instead of the one we were originally quoted. We noticed in mid-May that there was a leak in the closet which was never the case before the roof replacement. They fixed the roof leak within the week after a couple of calls. Meanwhile, we set to work clearing out the closet and wiping down the moldy walls. A few articles of clothing were moldy and needed to be dry cleaned. (See photos of mold and water damage). They sent a crew out about a week later to re-do the closet. The workers tore apart the closet and said there were termites that we needed to address. The workers laughed as we stood there stunned by the insects starting to make their way into our bedroom. I personally vacuumed up about a hundred insects from the closet while their workers watched (seeWe called Carranza's office to speak with someone and were met with a condescending attitude and told that the termites couldn't possibly be their fault. We then called an exterminator who came out and said the issue was carpenter ants caused by the moisture from the leak. They fixed the issue and gave us another bill to submit to Carranza. I informed Carranza of the costs to rectify their mistakes, but I wouldn't see a dime of that money for another 3 months. I called and left messages 4 separate times during the months of June and July to try to get them to come out and fix the closet that is now exposed wood and brick. I didn't receive a single call back despite our closet being destroyed and unusable, and they knew this. They were responsive up until they got their money for the job (it was prompt, by the way) and once they'd sufficiently reduced their liability by fixing the roof. Frankly, they couldn't care less about their customers. The owner, Miner, claimed he didn't know we still needed repairs and thought his crew completed the job, even though I was calling frequently. I called and got the office manager Kristy on the line the first week of August- finally, someone at Carranza answers their phone! I explained in a matter of fact fashion that I was fed up and needed a resolution to this issue. She said Miner is on vacation but that she'll discuss it with him and that Id get a call Monday. Monday comes and goes. I call Tuesday and Kristy doesn't even remember the conversation from just three days prior. I told Kristy I was on the verge of hiring another contractor and bringing legal action against Carranza. Shockingly, the owner Miner called me soon after and said he'd send someone out. He sent out Andrew who was the only employee at Carranza that treated us like human beings. He fixed the closet by himself over the next few days. The only thing Carranza got right is employing him; He's the only Carranza employee I wouldn't categorize as lazy and uncaring. It would take a couple more unreturned messages and a written threat of legal action for Carranza to reimburse me the $350 they'd owed me for a few months. I wouldn't recommend Carranza to my worst enemy. read more

I searched high and low for a dependable and trustworthy company to fix my roof and I had a few estimates done and Carranza was the hands down best in quality and pricing. They made me feel comfortable every step of the way, they were very thorough since the moment of scheduling. Minor was extremely kind and knowledgeable. My fiance' and I had a few minor roof repairs we had wanted done on our house and what finally prompted us taking action was the fact that our roof started to cause a leak in our downstairs bathroom. Upon removing the ceiling in our bathroom we realized we needed the problem fixed and fast. Especially because now the ceiling in the bathroom was removed. After calling a few other roofers and finding out that none were available until December (SERIOUSLY? I know it's busy season but come on), Carranza luckily had one open spot left for TWO DAYS after we called them! Yay! They were highly rated on Angie's List so we figured we would try it out. The roofer was nice and professional and he fixed everything and even texted my fiance' the photos of what he did since he was at work. The price was VERY Reasonable, I truly expected to pay more (not that i know about prices or anything). Quick and professional response after a recent tropical storm created a leak by our chimney. Carranza had replaced our roof in the last 2 years so I had them come out to make sure it wasn't damaged in the storm somehow. Turns out it was most likely the pointing in the chimney which was pretty seriously degraded. Minor came out and sealed up the areas of the chimney that needed attention even though it was not required under warranty and was not their work. I recently had Carranza remodel my upstairs master bathroom. I have to say that my new bathroom is spectacular! Their attention to detail from start to finish was amazing. They listened to my ideas and as the job went along, they too came up with some new ideas and changes to make it the most beautiful bathroom ever. They hire their own skilled workers who know how to do everything, so you're not constantly getting different people in all the time. They marked off my checklist for being reliable, dependable, trustworthy, attention to detail, fantastic design ideas, and friendly. They are mostly known for doing roofing and siding, and haven't been doing remodeling for too long. So there weren't that many remodel reviews, and initially I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with them. But then I met Minor and his design ideas and energy just blew me away. He was always available to answer my questions, even on weekends! My only negative was that they seemed to be having some growing pains with their skilled and unskilled workers, and as a result the job took longer than it should have. But getting the job done quickly wasn't my top priority. I wanted it done well. The end result is a bathroom I am very proud to show off. I still can't believe it's mine! My fiance and i had a few minor repairs that were needed on our roof, and after looking through several companies, finally went with Carranza to come out take a look and provide an estimate. At first it seemed all well, and the estimate was reasonable from their sales associate. Once the time came to do the job, they had to reschedule, due to some issues i was never told about. Then When they finally did come around to do the job, half way through after ripping out roofing and what-not, i was told that there would be "additional expenses" since there were some issues that were unseen. This should have been all known and taken care of during the estimate when the sales associate was looking over the property and seeing what needed to be done. All said and done it ended up costing almost exactly double what we were quoted. The work was decent but i am NOT happy with how much we ended up having to pay. If they were to encounter any unforeseen problems, you would think that they would know before they started tearing up my roof. Lesson learned i guess. I would not recommend due to what i think were shady practices in giving low quotes only to add additional expenses when they know you cant back out. read more

Carranza has restored my faith. Because I lost trust after dealing with a slimy snake of a contractor I was really dreading having to deal with finding a reputable roofer. I asked around, went online, did my research, and scheduled several estimates from different companies. After comparing apples to apples it was a no brainer choosing Carranza. The initial consultant, Jason, was very knowledgeable about everything from the product to the process. He wasn't pushy like some of the other reps and he really knew his stuff even though he's not the actual one doing roof work. He answered every question and didn't have to "get back to me" after checking with someone else. The project manager, John, followed up with me and he was also incredibly helpful. He was able to answer all my additional questions pertaining to my individual needs for my specific roof. He then scheduled for the owner, Minor, to stop by to take a look and provide me with an updated estimate, adding a ventilation system, which was even better than I expected. Because I got burned in the past I made sure to ask double the amount of questions no matter how big or small. I was in contact with Minor through the whole process. The crew came to the house and the forman, Dre, introduced himself and was very friendly and professional. He kept me informed during the process and the roof was replaced in one day. The roof looks great! I didn't think I would be able to see the difference since my roof was not horrible to begin with, but I can say I definitely see a big difference and it looks much better. I felt comfortable through the whole process and they were very fairly priced. I never felt like my roof is just another job on the ticket. I truly felt like a customer that was being taken care of. During the final inspection of the roof I asked Minor for his thoughts on some other future projects and he had some great suggestions for my sunroom and my windows, and some different ideas for my siding issues.
