This where the install team decided to plug in sump pump and you don't need to be an electrican to know this is incorrect and unsafe
    Benjamin W.

This company claims they are not responsible for the flood in my basement after they did their work and were negligent on install. They plugged sump pump into a completely unacceptable outlet on a light socket and did not check that it in fact did not work when light was switched off. They say they are only responsible for plugging into am outlet somewhere but let me please show you all the choice they made (there were other options for plugging it in nearby but they never came to me about it)

    Sloppy rushed work

Disappointing messy work done by Basement Waterproofing. Gave them the benefit of the doubt but result was below grade. Cracks formed on concrete just 3 weeks after pouring/finishing work. I had a drain pipe and a backyard patio installed on Monday by Basement Waterproofing that does not meet the standards that they advertised. I found them on HomeAdvisor. They were listed as 5 stars and whatnot. When I talked to the salesperson, they insisted the company was professional, above grade and "the best". He insisted that the job would take 3 days to a week to finish. Which is standard for a job this size. The job was finished fast. Rushed and finished one day. However the quality is shoddy and sloppy. There is no pride in their work and it shows. They showed up and the foreman didn't even sit down and go over the plan for the day. Just started working. I literally had to track him down (Tom). And he had to make a run to Home Depot to get pipes for the job (unprepared). He was nice and courteous, but pleasantries aside, I'd rather have an angry foreman that knows what they are doing, does things the correct way and has pride for their work. * Our contract stated a broom finish. It does not have a broom finish. Concrete surface is inconsistent. * There is no edging on the sides or contraction joints (lines that separate sections of the concrete). * The concrete areas around the drain are not neat. * Concrete splatter on side of house. The bare minimum was done according to contract and it shows that the company is only interested in making money, maximizing profits and not retaining customers. Drainage system works so far. ...But it's ugly... Their customer service is abhorrent. I called the office 3 times. Left a message and emailed with no reply from the main office. Just did the job and bolted outta town. Ghosted. No inspection of their own work so that they meet their standards. That not only is a lack of professionalism, but also a lack of integrity and pride in ones work. We all work hard for our money and we all want to hire upstanding people who have the same level of respect for one's career as themselves. After all, this stuff is expensive. Over 10K for this job. But to have a contractor to do work that they clearly don't care what the final product looks like is an insult to any profession. It should not be up to the client to check to see if a contractor is doing the job correctly. They should do it correctly cuz they care. ***** UPDATE: It took a bit of work to get them to come out. No show and rescheduled once. Showed up on the wrong day when we weren't home. Then showed up 3 hours late to a morning appointment on the correct day. But they came by to fix the issues addressed in the photos. They cut the contraction joints, cleaned up the concrete mess on the walls, fixed the ragged cracked edges from not putting in the edging. Patched a few holes and smoothed some areas. Looks much better now. However I am keeping my original review because companies need to be reminded that they need to adhere to the standards that they have set and do quality work correctly the first time. Plus, as a customer, we need to be vigilant and make sure we are getting what we paid for, a team of professional tradesman. After all, hiring a contractor is not cheap and it's very stressful. We put a lot of faith and trust in their hands. We need to be able to trust that they have respect for their craft and their customers.

We needed a french drain system installed in our basement and a drain installed in our back yard to eliminate the flooding during heavy rains. The crews that came out to complete the work were very professional, knowledgeable, and respected our property by protecting our plants outback and items in our basement. They were efficient and helped us with the many problems that we came across in the basement. The work they did was great and I will recommend them to anyone who needs waterproofing completed in their home. Thank you to the crews that worked at our home.

I can not recommend this company to anyone. The quality of the job I received for the price I paid was absolutely poor and disgraceful. The job was issued to a sub contractor who saw a get rich quick scenario and rushed to blow the job out in 1 day. A job which should have been 2 to 2 1/2 days for a proper quality job. While the guys them selves were pleasant the quality of what was done was poor and not what was discussed. They were to install a water proofing system in 3 levels of my basement. Install 3 sump pumps and slab a crawl space with a smooth finished floor. They did not use proper dust suppression. They came in Jack hammered up the floor sending dust every where and through all levels of my home. Simply wetting the floor prior to would have helped immensely. There was no time or care taken to ensure the clean outs were flush with the new floor, some were sunk in, raised, not level. All had concrete in them and were not cleaned up at the end, the spilled concrete was just left there. The waffle board (drain board) was not installed uniformly and neatly in all areas in some places its not tucked tightly into the corners or level on the walls. They drilled weep holes all the block to allow for water drainage but neglected to clean any of the dust/debris away from the holes to allow the water to properly drain. The sump pump wells were not installed with care or even cleaned out after they were done (in fact after a 2nd trip to do so I was lied to and told they were cleaned out, in which they weren't) so now a 3rd trip. The electrical ports were not installed with any care as to alignment or placement. The crawl space floor which was to be slabbed, was supposed to be smooth and flush with the existing floor that was already in place. What i got was a rush job that had trowel marks left behind. The floor is unlevel and uneven and will never be what is was supposed to be. The cement they mixed in mixers on site was not mixed correctly (they added to much sand to make it stretch and cut cost on cement) which resulted in a gritty sandy floor (so now 3rd trip trying to vacuum it and apply a hardener). They left a wood form in my door way and never planed on returning to remove it. It was going to be left for me to figure out. They neglected to install the system in @ 3 feet section of my floor (where it was diagramed to be installed) and I now have water in what was supposed to be a water free basement. (so I guess here we go for a 4th trip out) How much of my time do I have to waste sitting home for them. The clean up afterwards was basic and almost non existent. Basic sweep up and run down the road while I'm left with dust covering my entire basement and all the contents of my garage. Hand prints on my walls, mud on my door jams, mud and concrete on my over head water lines in my crawl space (as if they used them for hand lines). Sand and concrete stains on my driveway and stairs. Concrete debris left outside on the patio from drilling a hole for the drain pipe. My Lawn Burned form the concrete spilling off there pieces of tarp (yes small pieces put together to try and make a big enough area). They did not have any equipment to do a proper clean up and never planed to. No shop vacs to clean up the dust, no rags and cleaners to wipe stuff down, no blowers to clean the driveway. So far they have been back out to my home 3 times after the initial install to try and patch and rectify what should have been done right in the first place and will never be done right, and still looking at a 4th call back and who knows how many more. I paid more than the competitors estimates thinking I was going to get a "QUILITY" job, and better quality materials, so far the job "QUALITY" is extremely poor. As far as material quality that's still to be decided. For $35,000 I should not have to go through any of this or clean up there mess. My compensation so far, 2 Saturdays stuck at home to try and fix and patch a poor job and looking at another, $3,500 off the job, and an owner that hasn't even reached out or seem to care. Stay away!!!!!

    Sump pump

More like a 4.85 review. They came out on a Wednesday morning as I had been searching for someone to fix the mold and water issues with my home from the 1930s. They quoted me a good price for a top of the line system. The quality and longevity of the company was above average compared to other drainage systems. The next day they were back with two crews, took care of the walls and mold remediation. Then they jackhammered the floor and put down the pipe and sump pump, resealing the concrete afterwards. They were done in a day and since then the mildew smell has vanished and the air of the home smells so much better. I have a lifetime warranty that transfers should I sell the house. My only issue is from trying to call the salesperson who wrote his number on the contract. I called him two days later with some questions, left a message and never got a call back. The following day I called the customer service number and got my questions answered by a very helpful person there.

    old sump pump hole

I can't believe it's finally dry! I purchased my home knowing the basement had a water issue. Every time it rained whether it was a little or a lot I'd have water in my basement and my (not ideally placed) sump pump would be going off like crazy. BWS came out and gave me a quote on my job and I was shocked at the price, it was a lot of money. But for me it was money well spent. They came and did the job in 1 day completely jack hammered up my floor around the perimeter and straight down the middle. Filled my old sump pump and removed an old sink which was in the way in the process. The only thing I wish was a little better was once the job was done, the project leader went over everything with me so fast. He also didn't speak with me before they started the job which I found odd. I understand you do this sort of thing every day for a living but I needed a bit slower more detailed description of things. He told me the sump pumps had a 5 year warranty but when the salesman came to my house he told me they had a lifetime warranty. Regardless my basement is dry and it has been for 5 months now. A neighbor was the one that recommended BWS to me and Id recommend it to anyone else.

Just as others have said, calling and talking with Susan was a great first contact with the business. Unlike many service companies, she is quite familiar with the company and its approach to their work. (I later learned that she had been a customer and eventually started working with them - a truly excellent review in itself.) It turned out that the ends of some of the joists in the crawl space were resting on crumbling 70 year old concrete. The solution was to employ a metal support beam from close to the entrance of the crawl space all the way to the back wall as close to the crumbing side wall as possible to support the leaning joists. Once the work was done, I was surprised to see that nothing seemed to have changed. I was advised to wait a few days and that they would look to come back to make final adjustments in a couple of months. Three days later, the closet door stopped closing by itself. By the end of the week, it stayed put wherever on its path I moved it to. Another week and I could see that the low corner of the range had improved a little. It's been a bit more than a month now and I have gradually lost my fear that the kitchen floor would collapse as I was cooking. The cost was exactly as quoted, although they did more work than they had originally planned to. Just Dry Basement is an excellent, fully professional organization. I suggest that you call them without any hesitation. I can tell you that I have received no remuneration of any kind for writing this positive review and feel sure that no one else has either.
