I love Carries Pilates! I had never tried Pilates before I came to Carries and now it's my favorite workout. I run and also do these workouts and I feel like it's a great combination. I've taken several different instructors classes at different times and each instructor is unique with their own vibe and puts their own twist on the class, but in every workout, you get a great full body workout, focusing on legs, core, and upper body. Another awesome thing about Carries is the community . Everyone I have met there from the instrudtors, front desk staff, and owners are really sweet and have the same goals in mind. I've been coming to Carrie's for about nine months and I love it. It's not your typical Pilates class, it's much tougher. As a former athlete, it's unlike any workout I've ever done. Love Pilates at Carries Saddleback! Took my first class with Kaila and she is INCREDIBLE! So helpful, clear, supportive and fun! She makes corrections so you're sure to be right on the money without making you feel silly or making a scene for the whole class. This class kicked my butt but it really flew by! This studio is brand new and so inviting! I have been intimidated by Pilates for nearly ever! I decided to give this a try and was pleasantly surprised that I can do this! I am a true beginner. The instructors are very patient and knowledgeable and offer modifications for beginner, intermediate or advanced movements. I describe this as a step up from yoga and a step down from HIIT training. I was a sweaty mess and sore for 8 days after my first class. It was so worth it! This new Pilates concept is super fun and I really hope this studio has a ton of success. I never thought a Pilates studio and instructor combo could have me so hooked! This studio is clean, welcoming and warm - from the owners, to the instructors, to the front desk. Brooke is my go to instructor and she brings on the burn while motivating the heck out of you. I love Carrie's Pilates. I have always been a lifter and didn't really think Pilates was a training modality I could get into, but with some recent aches and pains, I decided to give it a try. I took my first class with the expectation that we would do a few hard things, but that most of it would be a piece of cake. Was I wrong!!! It was so tough, in all the right ways. My heart rate soared, my muscles shook like crazy, I got sweaty, but my body didn't hurt like it has with lifting. I continue to take classes and am challenged in every way. They say this type of Pilates is extra spicy and they're right! It feels more like "performance" Pilates or "training" Pilates, especially considering their machines, called The Transformer (as opposed to The Reformer), offer a large amount of resistance via the spring load. I am amazed at how it's never easy and I love that! One thing to note is the aches and pains I mentioned have improved since joining. The teachers are incredible, in particular: Brooke, Francesca, Kaila. They each have their own style of teaching, but they all push, encourage, and inspire me to do my best in every class. Shelley and Dana, the owners, are so welcoming and have created a beautiful community in the short amount of time they have been open. If you've ever thought about taking a Pilates class, please give Carrie's Pilates a try. You won't regret it. read more
