I've been coming to Ora Pilates for over a year. I've formed great relationships with some of the instructors and some of the members. I can give 5 stars for most of the instructors. I have to give 1 star for the overall leadership of the studio as most group classes I've been to congrats members on class milestones, like 25 classes, 50 classes or a year of membership. There is ZERO appreciation for the members, which is sad to be honest. I continue to come for my friends ive made and Melinda. I enjoy Leela as well but she comes sparingly. Behnaz is great too, she just has an aquired personality. read more

This studio is located on the second floor of a small plaza (facing the Main Street). I tried a class here because of ClassPass and I went in the evening (so it was dark). This studio is very white and, at night, they only light up what I recall to be a couple bulbs so it almost gives a miiildly creepy vibe. Perhaps consider LED strip lights for more of an aesthetic vibe? read more

The exercises were extremely relaxing yet it definitely targeted the muscles. I wanted it to ask somebody who had stomach surgery and went to Pilates three months later this was the class I chose to go to and it did not disappoint. Benaz is an incredible instructor!! She always gives her all each time while challenging us but also giving accommodations when needed. I have taken Ella's classes as well as Melinda's jump board class - both were great and challenging. Definitely the instructor matters but when you find a great one, it makes you want to come back. This place is of excellent value. It can get warm so either get a spot by the door or the fan. Great classes! I love coach Ela and her sweet smiles. She makes sure you are doing it correctly, and her instruction is clear to follow even for a beginner. The classes are very well designed, I always leave feeling sore and relaxed at the same time. Their app is easy to use. I've been taking classes here for a year and the result definitely shows. Ora pilates was overall a good experience. I liked all the instructors for the most part and the facilities. The parking is also relatively easy. I am docking one stars because my family and I have had a couple of bad experiences with Behnaz, where she had a rather passive aggressive and mean tone when correcting form during her class. She called out my mother and told her she should not be taking her class if she did not understand, and has overall made similar comments to me and the class as well. It makes the experience rather intimidating. We have been going regularly so we are not beginners but sometimes it's hard to understand especially if English is not your first language and the music is playing in the background. She lacks patience for people who are still learning. Corrction can be done with condescension!! All the other instructors are very good though! read more

My first pilates class ever and I absolutely loved it! I have always been intimidated by Pilates studios but I felt very welcome in this studio and the owner was absolutely lovely. It was such a refreshing change from your traditional gym experience. I highly recommend Ora if you have never tried Pilates. I started with a Groupon and have now extended into a monthly membership. I'm one of those people where working out has always been a chore, but these are the first classes that I actually look forward to doing! I can feel myself getting stronger and more flexible with each class. It's a great workout and I always leave glad that I came! Each instructor has a little bit of a different style, so there's someone for everyone. I personally love taking classes with Ornela (the owner) and Denise. They are positive, kind, and take time to explain the proper form for each exercise. One time I couldn't do a jumping activity because of a knee injury, and Denise planned different exercises for me and seemed happy to make the accommodations. I would definitely recommend these Pilates reformer classes. They're amazing! read more

instructor was very rude. i came 15 mins early since it was my first time at this studio (as instructed) and she ignored my existence until class started. she just sat on a reformer in the corner on her phone and then came over at the start of class, shoved a phone in my face, and said "sign this waiver". not really sure why i was told to come 15 mins early... lol i took a beginner class and she constantly called me out for being too slow. she never once corrected my form, but nitpicked my pace every other minute - kept telling me to hurry up. she kept yelling my name in class and never once said any other students' names. keep in mind this studio is tiny so there's no need to yell.. she also didn't nitpick anyone else even though some were first timers and moving at the same pace or even slower. regardless of my pace, i don't think it's necessary to interrupt the instruction to scream at me. i've taken other reformer pilates classes and i've never had an instructor bitch at someone for not keeping up. they usually just comment to help you with your form or provide alternatives, which she never did. oh also she spent the first half of the class just sitting in the corner constantly complaining about how cold she was and how she had to wake up at 6 am that day. not something i want to hear when i'm trying to work out. wouldn't recommend this place. read more

I love this studio so much! It's in a great location, with a shopping center and about a 3 min drive to the 5 freeway. Parking is super easy as well. Purchased classes due to review and location and for the first class I came 10 minutes early incase there was new client paperwork, get acquainted with the studio and settled in. Waited until time that class was suppose to start at 8:30, and nobody was at the studio, lights off and doors locked. I provided proof of arrival at the location thankfully because my car has that available. After speaking with Ela not only was she not accommodating, acknowledging or accepting of the fact that the studio and class were not open on time. She also said that one of my passes was used and that I would be charged a 15$ fee for no show. Truly unbelievable. No refund offered for the passes I've paid and I will not step foot there. Terrible and rude service. This is no way to treat customers especially a new customer. read more

I LOVE ORA PILATES! I learn about their location off of GroupOn where is only 0.7 miles away from home. I started going on Saturdays since I work through out the week back in April and it became my most favorite please. I'm a workaholic and doing Pilates with my Ora Pilates family is the most me time I have to myself and when I don't get to make it to a session I truly feel missed out. I love everyone there. Ornela, Behnaz Joon, Denise, and Melinda are all amazing. They truly care for you and make sure you make the most from the time your giving doing Pilates and take the most advantage out of it. I really like my workout at Ora Pilates. I find the studio to be well maintained and the equipments very clean and in great condition . The best part of the workout is the instructor Ela. She makes each session fun and challenging at the same time. She is a sweet lady. She walks around and makes sure that everyone is doing the moves correctly. She will adjust you if she sees that you are out of form, which is very helpful. I am new to Pilates and have tried other studios before joining Ora. I saw a good Groupon deal for an all levels Pilate class and decided to jump on it. I am currently pregnant and was trying to find something fun and safe to do to keep me active so I started with Pilates since I know I wouldn't commit to something like the gym. The instructor for my first class was Behnaz and unfortunately I didn't have a good experience with her. They way she talked to me honestly embarrassed me in front of everyone. She asked me twice why I started Pilates when I'm pregnant in-front of everyone! This happened literally at the start of the class everyone was looking at me and I literally almost wanted to cry, I felt like I was being shamed. I understand I was the beginner in the class and everyone else there was pretty advanced but I did book an all level class so that means you have to accommodate accordingly. She expected me to know what to do with just saying it until I told her "I have never done this before I don't know what that is" she then started showing me. You would think if the customer told you it was there first time doing this she would demonstrate every exercise I had to do at-least once to make sure they get it but didn't happen until I said something. I would just look at those around me to try to catch up but my exercises were different since I was pregnant so she would have to come and correct my position or whatever I was doing wrong. There were some times were she was smiling but at some points she looked annoyed because I wasn't getting it. I would like to say I already spoke to the owner and explained everything to her and the other rude things she said. I really didn't want to write my review because I told myself maybe this is the way she talks but to be quite frank I don't care. It is unacceptable to make someone feel how she made me feel. I almost wanted to just get out of there. At the end she asked if I had any questions?! Of course not I got out as soon as possible. I gave two stars because of my experience but overall it was a small and clean studio. I however, will never come back even with a different instructor it just got weird now. read more

My mom and I wanted to try Pilates for the first time in our lives, and Ela (the owner) made the entire experience smooth yet challenging for us to join the membership! I just had a baby 3 months ago, and my back was killing me, so the decision was made to join the Pilates for the first time. I am a very stiff person, and I honestly thought I would not enjoy Pilates because of my preconceptions of believing that Pilates is only for flexible people. I didn't want to commit to something that I wasn't sure of, so I purchased one week trial to try it out. Ela guided me through the entire time I was with her as well as taking care of the others. Her voice is very soothing and calm. I LOVED every minute of it, and my mom did as well! Besides Ela, Melinda is such an amazing instructor that makes her classes fun and engaging. She explains each exercise thoroughly so that I understand which part of the body I have to focus on. My mom and I did not take other instructors classes yet, so I can't comment on the others. A friend of mine told me about Ora Pilates as I have practiced on and off for several years at different studios. I enjoy the Pilates method and was looking to add to my other workouts. She told there was a Groupon for 5 classes to give it a try. I recently began classes and can highly recommend Behnaz's classes. This is a true Pilates class where increasing strength through the correct body placement and posture is instructed & Behnaz gives modifications when you need it. I came across Ora Pilates when I was looking for a Pilates studio near my home that offers reformer classes. I discovered that Ornela owns the studio, much to my delight! I knew Ornela from a Pilates gym in Costa Mesa where I was a client before moving to South County--and I've always enjoyed her classes. Fast forward to now: I've been going to Ora Pilates for over two weeks. I am a regular attendee of the 6 am classes, which I dubbed "The Morning Crew". :-) Ornela's teaching style is awesome. She goes around the room to ensure that each client is doing the exercises correctly. And if not, she corrects your form with a smile and a wonderful grace. I like this aspect of individualized instruction in a small group setting. The studio itself is immaculate and in this pandemic age, I feel safe (of course, always practicing caution). Ornela has such a happy and positive countenance, and that is manifested in the good vibe of her classes. The early morning classes are always a great way to jump start my day! With reformer exercise, you use your core muscles significantly; it stretches and tones you without bulking. Ora Pilates is a clean and tranquil studio with a total of ten reformers. There are enough students to be motivated but small enough to receive enough personal attention. I would highly recommend Ora Pilates! I found this studio via Google and started with a 2-week trial. It was my first time trying pilates and absolutely loved it right from the start. I've been going for the past two months or so and have found that it has really helped me recover from an injury. I've also found an increase in in my overall flexibility, balance and strength.
