I scheduled this appointment because I have been struggling with a persistent scalp condition that has not improved despite using medicated shampoos and following treatment recommendations. I came looking for answers and a treatment plan. Instead, I left feeling stereotyped, judged, and disrespected. The visit began with the physician looking at my chart and asking his medical assistant how to pronounce my first name. They went back and forth about it while I sat there before I eventually said it myself. If he was unsure, he could have simply asked me directly. The appointment quickly shifted to questions about how often I wash my hair. While that can be a reasonable medical question, the conversation repeatedly focused on assumptions about Black women's hair care practices and whether Black women follow treatment plans. I repeatedly explained that I wash my hair, use medicated shampoos, and follow directions, including allowing treatments to sit as instructed. My reason for seeking care was that these measures were not resolving the problem. What frustrated me most was that I did not feel my concerns were being evaluated before assumptions were made. Rather than focusing on why my condition persisted despite treatment, the physician repeatedly questioned whether I would follow recommendations. At one point, after making a recommendation, he told me I probably was not going to follow it anyway. I responded that this was a very presumptuous statement. He denied making assumptions despite having just made one. I told him directly not to stereotype me and repeatedly attempted to redirect the discussion back to treatment options. Instead of feeling heard, I felt dismissed. Another concerning moment occurred when he told me not to leave and discuss his comments with the front desk staff. I told him that if I had a concern, I would address it directly with him, which I did throughout the visit. My 17-year-old daughter was present and witnessed the interaction. She was disturbed by the way I was spoken to and uncomfortable with the tone of the visit. During both of our appointments, the medical assistant repeatedly attempted to excuse the physician's behavior by saying he was "just joking" and that he was "good at his job." She also encouraged us to overlook his comments because he had helped clear her own skin. Patients should not need staff members to explain away or justify a physician's conduct. To be fair, I was given prescriptions and a treatment plan. My concern is not that I left without treatment. My concern is that the interaction was so negative and unprofessional that it undermined my trust in the physician. Trust is a critical part of healthcare, and once it is lost, it becomes difficult to feel confident in the care being provided. I have worked in healthcare for years and have never had a provider speak to me in this manner. Clinical knowledge is important, but so are professionalism, respect, communication, and cultural awareness. Patients deserve all of those things. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and I will be seeking care elsewhere.

I even dealt with his not so nice wife (the reason for the huge turn over). I was going to court for a foster child and the day before the notes were requested from her last doc visit. I emailed the office first thing in the morning. No reply all day. I called and was told they have a new policy. It would take 72hr for them to print out the notes for me. Mind you I've been there and seen that it only takes 5 minutes to print. I explained the situation and asked for this one time courtesy. The girl said no. But the office closed with out me getting my call back from Darlene or me getting those notes for court. He didn't support this foster baby in an emergency so I will no longer support him. He also cause damage to my face he allowed the nurse to inject me with silicone I know this because for 2 years my face stayed the same look like I had an upside down lip also the new doctor told me I asked him about the nerve damage he said yes I would have nerve damage and that they did the best they could I'm also going to have the scars on my leg that he made look like somebody put cigarettes out on my legs also my knees are sunk in look like prunes also I have nerve damage to the face so I had to see a plastic surgeon for that I was told facelift. Well I told Buckner what the plastic surgery said turns out the doctor was right I saw another plastic surgeon and that plastic surgeon said let's wait and see I said I've been waiting to see for 2 years finally decided to go with the second plastic surgeon starting out the gate is going to be 5,000 for the lower part of my chin I have pictures I'm going to prove it Dr Buckner is a slick oil salesman that will sell you a goat and tell you it's a donkey I've also contacted the board of Physicians well he must have knew somebody there because they closed my case and telling me that they took it seriously. I informed them there's no way because the second set of evidence is on its way from the from the vein doctor and the plastic surgeons well they kept me on hold for 15 minutes and then said to me well you can send your evidence in I said oh but my case is closed but you want me to send evidence in okay the caseworker name was Madeline, and the person that sent out the letter name was Eunice, well she must be a part of that group that Dr that Buckner, goes to Jamaica with because when they said they took it seriously and I know they were lying I contacted the governor's office and they reopened the case and sent all my records and proof to the health department especially now that we all know it was silicone injected in my face by the nurse Nicole who Alex knew had a gray suitcase with black on it and I told him that when I talked to him on the phone he claims he don't be around her as anymore well Dr Buckner asked me to trust this woman and I did three times I said no to him and he said come on so I did.
