Went here years ago and this place was ridiculously overpriced. Dr. Gorodinski at one point charged about $1000 for a relatively simple procedure involving 1 or 2 teeth (that was not very time-consuming). He is competent but other dentists have more state-of-the-art equipment. Initially, he and the staff are very polite... all until you are confronted with a monumentally large bill that does not equate to or justify the relatively minimal work being done. read more

I visited Carroll dental arts during the lockdown for an emergency. DDS Gorodinsky and his staff are always top notch. But in this time of crisis, I could not have felt in better hands. He has all the safety procedures in place, extremely clean, respirator, air purifier. Only one patient at a time. One entrance, one exit: you do not cross anyone. Doctor Edward Gorodinsky is professional dentist, knowledgeable and friendly, honest and helpful. Save me from the huge toothache and gum irritation (it was an emergency) in 1-2-3 and PAIN-FREE. I was amazed how SAFE and clean this office - the whole team was using a lot of protection- masks, gloves; they disinfect a lot after each patient and even have a Virus Killing Air purifiers!!!!! Just switched to Carroll Gardens Dental Arts and so glad I did. Dr. Gorodinsky is a great dentist. He's communicative with patients and respectful of their wishes. Doesn't try to push unnecessary expensive procedures just to make extra money which I have experienced a lot with other dentists. Office staff is so friendly and helpful. Most importantly for me, it felt very safe during a time like this. I was the only person there, and the first in the room that day. They also UV clean the rooms after each patient and the dentist and hygienist are both wearing these crazy military-like gas masks, there are two air purifiers, they keep the window open and they have a separate entrance and exit. The staff is very friendly,helpful,curtious and polite. Wait time is great. But the doctor himself is rude and treats private insured patients different than those with government insurance. In other words if you have medicaid medicare or any city health insurance expect to be treated rudely by him. I know because I experience this. Dr. G is the best! I am from California and was reluctant to switch dentists to someone local in NYC but I found Dr. G and couldn't be happier! He is the nicest guy and truly wants you to have the best service and treatment possible. He always puts the patient's best interest first, which I really appreciate. He even went out of his way to consult me on how to fight a treatment issue I had with another dentist prior to going to him. He did not have to do that. Had a crown pop loose at the airport on the way to NYC. Too late at that point to do anything about it. CGDA and Dr. G. fitted me in on a fully booked Saturday with no trouble whatsoever. Recently I attended this dentistry to place a crown on my implant. I can recommend these guys to everyone since they are professionals and I was highly satisfied with the service. They were very fast to respond and very flexible for adjusting appointments. Time to wait is minimum. Doctor did everything with a high level of quality. Magic Hands!! I've been to a lot of dentists and the only thing they had in common is that I was afraid to come back. Dr. G is by far the least painful dentist. I recall my first visit to his office, I was sitting in the chair and waiting for the "painful" part to fix my cavity. I asked him "when are we starting", he told me "we are already done ". I have found my dentist right in my very own neighborhood. No more trips into midtown to see any old dentist that spends only 5 minutes with you. I can not say enough great things about this place. First off, the office feels like a home. Then you are greeted by Joanna the receptionist who is very welcoming and sweet. Dr G is simply The Best. I've never been to a dentist who is so genuinely knowledgable, caring, and honest. Dr G truly looks out for your best interests. The first time I visited Carroll Gardens Dental Arts, I was panicked that I needed an emergency root canal. The office realized how anxious I was and, although I was a new patient, found time to fit me in that day. Dr G totally put me at ease and determined what diagnostic tests were essential - I was uninsured at the time and he wanted to be sure to completely pinpoint the cause of my pain while not devastating my bank account. My previous dentist regularly billed me outrageous amounts to fill what he called "pre-cavities" - what a relief to find an honest and knowledgable dentist who can tell me what a load of bs that was! Most recently, Dr G molded a custom mouthguard for me to alleviate my TMJ pain in record time to accommodate my spotty insurance and crazy travel schedule. Aside from being incredibly considerate, warm, and intelligent, Dr G truly enjoys what he does, and is always excited to update his office with new, useful technology. I don't often write reviews but this place is so good that I think the cosmos should know. I hate going to the dentist, but I actually *almost* enjoyed getting my fillings today. The dentist made sure I was totally comfortable, consulted me very thoughtfully about pain management and was flexible with my schedule. Dr. Gorodinski and all of his staff are the best! I had been to see him a few times for routine cleanings and X-rays in the past and he always came across as warm, funny, and knowledgeable (also love that he gently hand-scales your teeth himself!). Just came in after about a 2 year hiatus for a long overdue cleaning and consultation for a broken filling, convinced that my tooth was rotting and upset with myself for going so long without a dental visit. He immediately put me at ease and told me he could replace the filling right then and there! At no point did I feel like there was any rush and the work was completed skillfully and painlessly. The overall experience was pleasant, if not enjoyable with Dr. G's jokes and stories. (He also has the best tooth polish paste flavors!) Not having dental insurance, the price was very reasonable. I felt so relaxed and relieved leaving his office with clean teeth and a new filling post "dental marathon" as he called it. Can't recommend him enough! read more

5 stars isn't even high enough - Dr. Gorodinski is incredible! I had an appointment yesterday to talk to him about some problems I have resulting from another dentist's errors (of which there were quite a few) - In short, this other office told me I had 6 cavities I didn't have, and so not only unnecessarily drilled and filled these cavities, but did it in a lazy way such that some of the fillings fell out. He took the time to go over what happened and answered every one of my questions patiently. The office doesn't take my insurance so he helped me out in a few different ways to make the work I need affordable for me. I will never go to another dentist, no matter what insurance I have - he's the best! Also contributing to the 5 star rating is his office assistant Amparo, who was so helpful and sweet from the moment I called to make the appointment. Dr Gorodinsky is a wonderful dentist! He is seeing our entire family, my children (2yrs and 9yrs) are happy to see him. He is warm and comforting and they have no concerns about letting him examine/ clean their teeth. My husband has not been happy about a dentist in his life and says he cannot imagine seeing anyone else. His office is clean, attractive and comfortable.
