Prices are insane. $24 for a chicken Caesar salad at a casual counter order lunch spot... I can not believe it.

After running 100 miles thru downtown Miami and Brickell Key (OK, just 3.1 miles / 5K) I stopped here for a healthyish dinner. I managed to get in right before closing time! I ordered their pesto chicken breast, with cilantro rice and pico de gallo. The dish originally came with avocado, and I asked for that to be substituted with a little more pico. That's kind of how at Flanigans I sub out the cole slaw for extra curly fries ;) That's why though I want to rate it higher, I can't. I didn't like the fact that I was hit with an "extra" charge (granted, just $1) for substituting more pico de gallo for the hideous vegetable (avocado) that comes with my main course. Nickel & diming isn't cool! Still and all, the chicken breast was a decent portion and tasted pretty good with the pesto sauce. The brown rice had a good texture and wasn't greasy, and the pico had a perfect tart to it. I even ordered an Acai shake to wash it all down and sweeten my taste buds. read more

The pesto chicken grain bowl was fantastic! We loved the freshness of our meals, the establishment is clean and the staff was very attentive. The smoothie was delicious, reminded us of a slushy. The turkey burger patty on my boyfriends salad was so flavorful and juicy. We definitely left inspired to replicate some of the bowls at home. Can't wait to stop by again. Service is extremely slow. I waited in total 20mins for 1 coco kale juice. I almost fell asleep twice while waiting.

We've heard of Carrot Express and after our workout we decided to come here for some much needed fuel. They're located in Midtown so parking can be a hassle but you might get lucky and park near by. Inside and outside seating is available and on a nice Miami day, having your meal outside can be quite pleasant. They do have an extensive menu so take your time picking your meal. I tried their chicken breast platter and substitute the cilantro rice for a baked sweet potato. The dish came with pico de gallo and fresh avocado and a side of some sort of avocado cilantro dressing. This was exactly what I needed post workout. The chicken was perfectly season, the potato was soft and sweet although it did not have anything on it. The pico gave it a nice kick. Crys tired The impossible or impostor burger? it's not on their original menu but it is on the screened menu at the restaurant. It's a veggie patty with arugula, mashed plantain, lettuce, onions, micro greens and some sort of sauce. this burger was amazing! the mashed plantains really did the trick. I recommend everyone try it at least once because OMG I fell in love. So good yet refreshing. read more

Decided to try this place after all the hype and good comments I have heard about it. Food was ok, but to be honest I was expecting something way better. I had the liv wrap which was good and my husband had the chicken breast platter. But both of these things, you could find somewhere else or even make yourself at home (specially the chicken breast platter). I also saw everyone ordering the acai bowls or poke bowls/wraps which looked great, so I will probably try that next time! read more

I'm really diggin this place! Another healthy eatery in the midtown area is always welcome. My husband and I went there on a weekday evening for dinner and were so pleasantly surprised. It was quiet when we were there so we ordered right away. I got the delicious sausage bowl (which I don't see now on their website) but it's definitely an option. I was between that and a few other things and This bowl was highly recommended. It. Was. Amazing. Doesn't look like much but it was huge! I actually think they can serve it with less rice but the flavors were delish. It was also great for breakfast the next morning. I took a point off because it in unnaturally bright in that restaurant. My husband and I decided to sit outside and the lights outside were also bright, and there was a fan on, and it kept deflecting the light like a strobe light. I know it sounds ridiculous but it was really distracting and annoying. And based on how good the food and service was, it's the sole reason I removed a star. went to the Carrot Express in Plantation FL last night, really nice place, at the time we walked in there were only 2 people seated. We saw a lady behind the counter across from us putting away cutlery so we waited for her to come over. Finally it was obvious even after seeing us she was not ready to assist us. Eventually after calling out to her for service a few times she decided to take our order. After this horrible experience I decided I would not give a tip, just pay the bill and leave after getting our coffees. When paying, I skipped over the tip part and completed my order. Looking at my credit card charge this morning, I see $2 added to my bill. This person selected the tip amount without my knowledge. I will never return to this location, my experience was the worst,, I have never not wanted to tip someone but this lady choose to treat us this way and did not deserve one penny. Just wanted to warn people about this unethical behavior of this worker at this location. read more

They have a ton of healthy options to choose from, at an affordable price for the amount of food you get in each plate. You'll usually find me eating the tuna poke bowl, or the açaí bowl. It was delicious and so different! I probably could have split it with someone. It was huge. Cons: my fiancé ordered some kind of chicken entree - he really liked it, but it came out 10 minutes before mine, so he had to wait for my food to arrive. (I guess he didn't HAVE to, but, ya know, it's awkward not to). This isn't a tapas restaurant so I don't understand why they didn't just bring the plates out together. It was annoying.
