Carry on Moving was the only Moving company that was willing to help me move from a 4 bedroom, 2 story house to a one story! I was shopping around Wednesday afternoon and everyone was booked -- but when I spoke to Omar, I felt like he was trying to understand my situation and help me figure out what was best and if they're able to fit me in! They had everything done on such a short notice! I can't thank Omar and his incredible team enough. As soon as the garage opened, Omar did a walk through with me and asked what needed to be packed and placed in their truck to move into the new house. As every moving company, they charge hourly-- with that said, before hiring Carry On, I was able to get pricing and full detail as to what could be done, how, and how much time should I account for. This move was extremely easy as Omar brought himself and 2 crew members who quickly started moving and taking things down for me. (Tv mounts/bed frames/mattresses/shelves, everything!) I felt like I didn't have to lift a finger because they do pack and seal everything you need them to. They also very much handle with care and ask you for reassurance to take what is needed. When moving my things into the new home, they were kind enough to place everything where it should be (Dining room, kitchen, rooms) extremely grateful they break things down to fit in the U-HAUL and set it right back up in your new place. My hub waited until the last minute to call a mover (I KNOW), and Omar was prepared to move us right away. We moved from a big, three story house with 20+ years of accumulated stuff and even though we'd rid ourselves of most of we didn't want, it was still a ton of stuff to move. Omar was, throughout, caring, professional and understanding of the craziness of moving. Omar told us there would be six guys and there were six hard-working, friendly guys there right on time (10 a.m). They started work right away not stopping for much until 10 p.m. that night. They were moving us from Danville to Santa Rosa and we told them they could finish up the next day, but they wanted to complete the job. They got to Santa Rosa at about 11:30 p.m., and worked until 3 a.m to finish. No, I'm not kidding. These guys were amazing! I'm now in the unpacking phase of the move, and everything was well-wrapped, so there was no breakage - except by me, of course - I am the original klutz. I scheduled a move that was 19 miles away from the current place that I was renting so I requested quotes from Yelp. Omar reached out to me and let me know the breakdown of the quote that he provided me through yelp and through phone call. He was very responsive and communicative. He also gave me a reasonable quote on the project that I want accomplished and so I chose to work with them. I scheduled with Omar through the phone. The day of the move, there were 3 movers (per my request and Omar's recommendation). Although Omar was not present there, he was still very communicative and would check in with me and how the movers are doing throughout the process. The movers were quick and careful with our items. We did not have any damaged items. The move from a 2 story house (3 rooms) to another 2 story house (3 rooms as well) took about 5 hours and 48 minutes (including 30 minute travel time). After a corporate relocation moving company could not come through with my desired move date I came to Yelp to find a mover that could. Omar called me as soon as I sent through the request for a quote and ran through every question I could possibly come up with. I didn't realize that my UHaul truck auto tow should be picked up AFTER everything is loaded on the Uhaul so that everything could be easily loaded using the ramp. It was too late for me to drop off the auto tow and I was so incredibly stressed, I reached out to Omar and we ran through all the larger items I needed loaded and he said no problem and they loaded everything without a ramp. Huge fridge, tiny kitchen problem. These guys saved the day with a same-day move. Omar responded right away. The only company of four to respond. I called him around 8:30 AM and by 5 PM he had five guys at my place and they quickly moved the fridge outside for pick up. When delivering the new fridge, Home Depot refused to move the old fridge out the window ( they had moved it in the window in 2006 when they sold me the old one.) I only found this out when they arrived. If I'd known that in advance, I would've hired movers to move it out in the week that I was waiting for Home Depot to deliver my fridge. read more

The team was friendly and did well for the most part. The thing that has me upset was that the truck was not big enough to get my belongings moved - I ended up having to take things in my car as well to put it in storage with the rest of the belongings. They were not able to take all the furniture that I had requested them to take. The other big thing that I am upset about is that several of my furniture pieces were taken apart. Some of them have missing parts now since they were not all kept together. And one of my credenzas had a broken leg which was not reported to me at the time of the move.
