It took a a representative of Carson & Co Salon THREE YEARS to reply to my original review of the asinine policy that steals money from the customer in favor of the stylist and of course the Salon, who is making money off of them. I will repeat myself again. I been late nor had I ever missed an appointment. If this had been a chronic issue, I might better understand the need for this charge full price to a who would not once missed or been late to an appointment is in my opinion, they completely unacceptable way of handling customer service! Please take notice about how she does not respond back in any way shape or form about the switch method that they use at this salon by bringing in very skilled stylist for the consult and first application and then switches them out for brand new grads, who do not yet know how to tackle the level of services that they are being asked to perform, but yet the is still being charged the exact same amount as the skilled and tenured stylist. I would stay as far away from this company as you can! I do not be that this salon owner is in any way shape or form sorry that I am unhappy and not receptive to her Unconscionable Salon policies. What I do think is that she's sorry about the fact that I have left an accurate and yet unflattering review that does not shine her business in a positive manner. Mind you, I gave this store owner multiple opportunities to speak with me to resolution my concerns prior to posting my feedback, which again, I rarely do. As someone who has working knowledge and experience with small businesses, I understand how these types of posts can affect business. I left mu voice messages for her to call me and she couldn't be bothered. My purpose in sharing my experience is to hopefully spare others from wasting their hard earned money on a company that doesn't care about them as a customer. Sierra (no longer works for Carson &Co) did an amazing job with my hair. I was impressed with her as a stylist which is why I returned to this salon. Twice I was set up with new grad stylist who did not yet have the necessary skills to handle my request. The charges for these services were the same as Sierra's I understand that everyone needs to start somewhere and I do often times people the benefit of the doubt and avoid going the route that I currently am but the unprofessionalism and blatant disregard for customer service of any kind by this company was not something I could overlook. No one who has been mindful of other people's time and efforts should lose HUNDREDS of dollars and be expected to be comfortable with receiving zero service. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience here, through and through. I spent close to $360 on a color service and didn't get what I asked for, and on top of that, my shirt was ruined with bleach stains from the appointment (photos attached). This has been a frustrating and costly experience from start to finish. While I said I liked the color while still sitting in the chair, that was more about not wanting to speak up in the moment than actually loving the result. Once I got home and saw it in natural daylight, it was noticeably lighter than the inspo photo I had provided (comparison photos attached). I also noticed bleach stains on my shirt from the appointment. I called to ask about reimbursement and was told this "just happens" and nothing would be done. I was calm throughout the call, but the manager was dismissive and ended the call abruptly. I was offered a correction appointment for the color, but was told it would cost an additional $175, classified as a new toner service rather than a fix of the original request. I was told that getting the fee waived would require speaking with management directly. Given how my previous call with management had already gone, I didn't feel comfortable reaching out again. When I was later told the owner was available to talk and called, I recognized the voice as the same manager who had already dismissed me. I wasn't comfortable continuing that call and hung up. I decided not to move forward with the correction, since I had no confidence I wouldn't be charged regardless of the original color missing what I asked for. I spent a significant amount of money here and I'm left with a color I didn't ask for and a ruined shirt, with no accountability from the salon at any point in this process. I can't recommend this salon based on how everything was handled. Update: In response to the owner's reply, I want to clarify a few things, since it misrepresents what happened. The call about the shirt didn't end because I was unwilling to discuss solutions, it ended because the manager was dismissive and hung up on me after I calmly raised the issue. The second call ended because I recognized that same voice and wasn't comfortable continuing, which is a very different thing. I was also told the stains happened because my hair is "too long," as if that explained or excused it. I've been coloring my hair for over 10 years, always with hair this length, and this has never happened before. Calling accidental contact with hair color "something that occasionally happens despite protective measures" doesn't address why no reimbursement was offered, or why no flexibility was offered on the $175 charge for a color that didn't match what I originally asked for. DO NOT book a bridal party with theses people!!!! We book in February to have services done in July. Each of us book our own individual appointments and they requested a card on file at the time of booking, no big deal! Now comes June, we had to cancel 1 appointment, mind you, a week before the actual appointment this gave them plenty of time to rebook the stylist. I was charged for this cancellation and told it was because the salons policy states 24 hours, but I cancelled a week before. So I was charged full price for a service I didn't receive. On top of that was charged another full price service for an appointment that we didn't even book, but was told we did. I know what I booked and what the other girls booked, so no one had this one booked. The topping on the cake was, the actual day of the wedding, we all show up to have hair and makeup done and when everyone but one of us( who was sitting in the chair getting her hair done by the way) was done. They come and said we only had 6 people booked, when we had 8 people booked, and I had to pay another 300 dollars! What???!!! My daughter showed all communication she had with them and it showed 8 people booked! So I was charged for this! After all was done and said I paid almost $1,000 for service we either didn't book, cancelled or was told we didn't book! And management is awful and will not even entertain idea of listening to the customer! I will not go back again!! If I could give no stars I would! read more

I had a medical emergency and couldn't make my appointment. Even with a doctor's note, this salon refused to waive the cancellation fee. I understand businesses have policies, but most reputable places make reasonable exceptions for emergencies. They refuse to accommodate unavoidable medical issues which isn't just a rigid policy, it's an exploitative practice. This business profits without providing a service by charging 100% of the fee, even in emergencies. If they rebook your slot, they can potentially get paid twice--once from the cancellation fee and again from a replacement client. There's no case-by-case review, no credit option, and no regard for circumstances beyond a human being's control. They will take your money and hide behind "policy," even if you were in the ICU. If you're seriously injured or gravely ill, this salon doesn't care. Their policy disproportionately punishes those with chronic illnesses and medical conditions, making it risky for anyone with unpredictable health issues to book here. No flexibility, no compassion--just a cash grab. Low-quality salon, low-quality customer service. Spend your money somewhere that values customers as human beings, not just dollar signs. I had booked a haircut for my son Maxwell with Elizabeth about 2 weeks ago on line. We get there today. Elizabeth comes out into the waiting room. Explains to me that you guys do not cut boys hair just girls. Extremely upset bc why didht anyone call me to ask. Clearly his name is a boys name. I had to cancel my appointment due to a sick toddler on the day of my appointment. My toddler has all COVID symptoms and didn't want to expose anyone until we get COVID test results. I spoke to Taylor (manager), who nice enough to waive the fee, as I had to cancel less than 24h prior my appointment. It wasn't immediate understanding, until I said well I can come in if you don't care of being exposed and getting sick. She said that no they don't want me to come in and that they will not charge me. She also said that if I choose to reschedule my appointment they will charge me twice. Taylor also explained to me that it's hard time for everyone due to COVID, and that they are a small business. You would think they would do anything to keep their customers and adjust their policy because it's hard time for everyone.... It's too bad, since I did liked the stylist that did my hair. I had the most heinous experience here, and as another client stated, I never heard anything from management. I have bald spots after a botched extension job, and my extensions had to be cut off and were unusable after only two months. Incredibly disappointing, and again, I was told management would be in touch and never heard a thing. If I could give this salon 0 stars I would. Looking for a place who spent more money on their sherpa couch then their own hair degrees? This is the place! Ladies please... do NOT go here. This was the worst and by far the trashiest most unprofessional place I have ever been to. I fell for the fake photos on her instagram posted by a stylist named Kitzia. Trusting that she actually had skill, I eagerly made an appointment at Carson and Co. My appt was at 2pm, I arrive at 1:45 and am not sat down until 2:20 as Kitzia has double booked me with a huge bleach job on another girl. When she comes over, she takes a super quick look at my hair, gives me a 30 second consultation, states "I don't really know how your hair will take bleach" spiel and at this point decides to do whatever she wants to do. She bleaches the top of my head, washes it out.. it looks ok? Then she says "I think I want to tone it again"... ok... tones it again, and all the color she just lifted is now a reddish brown. What does she decide to do? BLEACH AGAIN! Then tones it.. again. FIVE and a half hours later and I look like a skunk. I was in shock. And to kick me while I was down they charged me $98 for a "face frame" when I went in asking for a balayage!! My hair is literally FRIED. Not only did Kitzia have ZERO idea or skill.. she was so lazy, she kept having her co-workers step in to wash my hair and tone it, in which one of them said "Sorry I'm new and still learning". Yeah. Oh, and while I was there another lady was pissed that another girl ruined her hair too!! It gets better! I call management who asks me to send some photos and that they would call me back the next day. Four pm the next day, no call.. I email again.. 10 minutes later I get a call from probably the most unprofessional "owner" (I think her name was Lori) that I have ever had to talk to. NOT ONCE does she apologize or say sorry this happened to my hair. She offers me a "partial refund" and to come back in. I literally tell her, hell no! Does Kitzia even have a degree? Like who are you employing? * GOOD PART * The owner then says "Let me stop you right there. I'm not going to allow you to defamate my employees, Kitzia is my FRIEND! and she said she knows she didn't do her best work" I was like No.. YOU let me stop you right there.. you are an OWNER and she destroyed my hair and you have NO EMPATHY for someone going through this?? She then replied "I offered a partial refund". lol. Cool place but...some of the stylists here are so flakey. Two out of four appointments have been cancelled day of which is so ridiculously inconvenient, they don't even try to get you in with someone else, it was a haircut both times. I got a balayage with a stylist who no longer works there and it was very brassy I think there is potential here but they need to hire more reliable staff. read more

Haley K is absolutely amazing! She always goes above and beyond when doing my hair and I couldn't ask for more! Every time I leave the salon my hair looks healthy, shiny, and beautiful. I go in every 12 weeks to bleach my hair and I have never had to worry about Haley over processing or damaging my hair. This girl knows what she's doing! Not only is Haley amazing, but all of the other stylists that work at this salon are extremely friendly. While walking around the area with my toddler, I popped into the salon to purchase a bottle of shampoo. The receptionist was giving me a rundown of their products and was super nice when my son started lining up the shampoo bottles on the ground that were on the bottom shelf assuring me it was fine and that she'd help me put them back. As I was getting ready to pay, someone from the back came out and in a VERY rude and diminutive tone told me that I would need to pick up my son's mess and that kids weren't allowed in the store. Such a negative experience, tried to cancel on Sunday and Monday, for an appointment on Tuesday. The text message only allows you to confirm the appointment, no option to reschedule or cancel. I called multiple times and no one answered the phone, kept getting a message that said to enter your security code now. I finally sent an email through the website as a new customer, explained that I needed to cancel and had been trying since Sunday (I was 20 minutes shy of the 24 hours). Received a response back 5 minutes later (keep in mind this is now 25 minutes shy of the 24 hour rule) from the "Manager" who basically said, yeah, we're charging you the full amount. I explained that my husband was in the hospital and I only needed a week or two until I could reschedule. No response but a charge on my bank account first thing in the morning for the full appt. My appointment wasn't until that afternoon and I explained I have screenshots of me calling in on Sunday and Monday prior to the 24 hours expiring and sending an email with 23 hours 40 minutes because I couldn't figure out how to get ahold of anyone. I will file with the BBB, Federal Trade Commission, DORA and finally will let Colorado Office of Barber and Cosmetology Licensure know how they operate. I strongly recommend not using this salon. I went here for 3 years always seeing the same stylist Sierra. As a blonde I went every 8-10 weeks and she even did extensions for my wedding. Yesterday I had an appointment booked; I had a very important meeting I couldn't leave run over and was 23 minutes late for my appointment. I gave them a heads up but they indicated that they had a firm rule and I couldn't be seen but would still be charged the full amount if I arrived more than 20 minutes late. My stylist Sierra wouldn't even come out and discuss it with me face to face when I arrived clearly rushing and in tears, and the balance of the staff were extraordinarily rude and cold. As a mom who juggles her career and 4 young children it is impossible to fit everything in as much as you try. After 3 years of being a very loyal customer I would have hoped for more flexibility and decency, especially in a business that prides itself in being women owned and run. I will never go back and hopefully this helps to spare other individuals my experience. read more

Apologies for the long review but this is not acceptable and needs to be public so others don't get scammed or screwed over by this salon. Went in on May 29th for a full highlight with Jasmine, very sweet but I could tell got exhausted and clearly sick of standing/working on my hair about 2 hours in. I am patient and understanding but had I know she was that far along in pregnancy may have not had her do my hair for 3-4 hours. That was not my reason for this review had my hair turned out worth what I paid for.. but is a factor. **I have natural blonde hair that I simply wanted baby/platinum blonde, as it tends to fade into a brassier shade. nothing crazy. The cut she did was just fine. After highlighting/ash toning like she said would get my hair to what I showed her, mid drying I could tell it was super overtoned and she said this is because the highlight is fresh and the tone will 'tone down' - I understood, have had it overtoned before at other salons as that can happen, so agreed it may be okay after few washes. Week or two later, blotchy overtone and still brass tint barely lighter than when I came in. (See pics) Came back for color consult appt with Jillian on June 13th who not only said she could make my hair platinum/baby blonde no problem when I can come back a third time when she has time for full highlight free of charge from what Taylor,Owner-Aspen, Jillian had agreed on and told me - (appreciated that as I would think thats worth $280 I paid, and to make things right) Jillian speaks with owners mid color consult, decides to do clarifying shampoo & 3 highlights on my hair towards top/front... I asked if this is in place of another full highlight and says "we decided to fix you today so we can just get it done and you don't have to come back!" I tried to explain that I would prefer a full re-do as I was promised, she wouldn't accept what I had to say and kept going around it, clearly annoyed that I wasn't giving in. Left with same brass tone hair not to mention almost burned scalp from the blonde who helped her dry my hair as fast as possible to get me out of their. I don't like having to complain but I would like to get what I pay for, so would any of them if this happened to them!! Aspen and I spoke on the phone after this appt, and she agreed to give me a partial refund $125 to my card on file, which I have an email confirming the refund- weird part is the email says I was refunded CASH, which is not true. Thought maybe it just said 'cash' but processed to my card and waited a month to see if refund came through to my card. No refund was sent back to me. I cannot believe it has taken me 5 calls, every time I'm told Aspen would be notified to call me back ASAP. No response what so ever. Would've rather just had my hair re done like it should have been! Now have a bank dispute, and from the looks of past negative reviews I'm not going to see this partial refund. Not only that, but her outcomes are amazing. I came in with extremely butchered hair and she absolutely transformed it. She's personable, funny, and I left the salon feeling like I gained a friend. Absolutely go see her -- especially if you're having a hair crisis. She'll absolutely transform you. I had my hair done last week and as always when I left it looked beautiful. But walking in I had asked for a balayage and told her I wanted to go a few shades darker. This stylist convinced me to do a rinse and a "reverse balayage" using my current dark blonde. The pampering in the salon is wonderful and it truly is a high end experience. However, it was more expensive than a true balayage-$215 for me to leave looking almost the same. Not sure how they come up with these prices. One week later the darkness has faded with ONLY two shampoos and I'm left almost identical to how I walked in. I was told this rinse would last 8-12 weeks. Didn't last even one. Unless I can get my $200 back for this, I won't be back. Very disappointing read more

I went to an appointment with Sierra Moore for hair extensions at Carson and Co (Orchard Town Center). A consultation was completed before the installation where we discussed the process and what I wanted. She told me that hand tied extensions were good for my hair and that her clients ended up with healthier hair after extensions and that I shouldn't worry about any damage as long as I followed the care guidelines. A few weeks later, on January 27, 2022, she installed hand-tied wefts into my hair. I have never had any type of extensions and I was a bit taken aback at the amount of hair she had added, but I figured I needed a little time to get used to it. I asked Sierra that if I had any questions or concerns if I could stop by the salon to talk to her and that of course I would give her notice before coming in. She said that it would be better if I messaged her through Instagram. I went home and gave myself a week. I followed all of her care instructions (wash once per week, use dry shampoo, wear a braid to bed and never go to bed with wet hair, put oil on mid-shaft to ends each day etc.) On the 7th day I was still feeling really uncomfortable with how much hair there was and worse, the top weft (I had a top and lower row put in per her recommendation) was poking through and visible. Instead of messaging her through Instagram, which I felt was unprofessional on her part, I called the salon and requested she return my call. She called me back within a few hours and when I told her that I was very uncomfortable and worse that the wefts were showing, she said to give it a few more days and then if it was still bothering me to come in. She also told me the next appointment she had was in a month! I said, "Are you serious? I really need to get in as soon as possible" and she said that this was the earliest appointment. I took the appointment just in case, and then immediately went to my computer to find a new stylist. I couldn't believe she wouldn't make time to see me right away, or if she was too busy to offer someone else at the salon to help me. I then found a great stylist in Denver that made time (she was booked as well) to see me the next morning. When she saw the amount of hair on my head she was totally shocked and said that there is no way she would ever put this much hair on anyone, let alone someone with hair as fine as mine. A week later, she removed the extensions (it had been about 3 weeks since I had the extensions in my hair). The plan was for her to re-install one row of extensions between the rows I had before, and to only use 1/4 of the hair that was initially installed. My new stylist took pictures of the back of my head and there were patches of hair gone and she held a big clump of my hair in her hands. She said, "this is not normal and you should never have had that much hair installed". She was unwilling to install any extensions at this time due to the poor state of my scalp and I went home with half the hair I originally had. That evening (Wednesday) I emailed Carson and Co. and notified them of the damage to my hair and that I had tried to get Sierra to help me but couldn't wait a month or extra days to get in to see her. I never heard back. That Friday, I called and spoke to Taylor, the manager, and she sympathized, but said I needed to speak to the owner, Yasmine. She said Yasmine would call me by the end of the day but I never heard from her. On Tuesday, I called the salon and Taylor was out for the day. Yasmine took my call and essentially said that I didn't give the salon a chance to address the issue and that the hair and service was non-refundable. I explained I didn't want a refund for the color, cut or products that I purchased but I felt it was only fair that I be reimbursed for the service because Sierra clearly didn't offer good customer service and she caused severe damage to my hair. I drove an hour to see Sierra Moore. Because it was a first visit, I asked several questions to clarify what she was suggesting or if she had a photo because she didn't like the ones I brought for example. She went to the back returning fifteen minutes later saying she didn't feel comfortable doing the service basically because I was asking too many questions. I told her I was trying to clarify but that I trusted her and was happy with the plan we came up with, and had came a long way and needed my hair done for an event that night. She left AGAIN and another fifteen minutes later now half an our after my appointment time, came back told me we didn't have a enough time (I was clear when booking that I needed a lot of time and described specifically what I needed done), told me our conversation was "pushing her boundaries" and asked me to leave. I promise I was not rude, not critical, but trying to be clear on what we were talking about doing. As a psychotherapist, I have to say, I think there is something going on there. Also the salon has low lighting which is not ideal to see what the true color is. She showed no respect for my time, my gas, my event and basically made my holiday start off sucking. read more
