We've seen the Strumbellas here twice and truly don't know why more indie acts don't choose this spot over Stubbs. The stage itself is small but the sound system is great and while I don't LIKE it, I definitely understand why they charge for their elevated back bar area (deemed premium seating, at $40 a seat, you get a reserved spot to park it for your event and a great view of the stage). On site there's a hot dog stand and for sure this guy has his supply and demand system down. He smartly uses a fan to waft the mouth-watering aroma of grilled dogs all throughout the venue. Vegetarians need not respond but I would love to find any meat loving person who can go an entire concert here without buying a dog...I'm waiting lol Seriously though, for $10 the dogs are juicy, smothered in good stuff and they absolutely SLAP. Parking sucks but that's anywhere downtown. Street parking if you're lucky, otherwise, they do have an event parking deal with a fairly close parking garage.

We ALSO definitely do NOT recommend Springdale Station! Honest review for those considering this as a venue: The indoor space is very SMALL. It is not a good location for a large amount of guests. You will find three rooms inside (one with some stairs that are required to access it). The foyer serves as one of these rooms, so once you make it through the line to get inside, you are inside one of the three small rooms! The event we attended was very crowded and everyone was bumping into each other. Again, in OUR experience, this is NOT a good venue for a large group of people. The outside has a very small patio, with a LARGE amount of dirt. Definitely not a good location for anything even slightly dressy. Something casual, cowboy-like, perhaps a kids' casual party...those might work. The dirt area is large. (And VERY dirty!) We came home with dirt up to our calves. Gross! Keep this in mind, and check this out thoroughly before signing any contract with Moya. Buyer beware!!! Outside seating on the small patio was extremely limited. Literally only ONE sofa. Moya needs to addressed this. Would be nice if guests could actually sit down. Ridiculously inhospitable! We have attended several events in Austin, this one is only suitable for a super casual OUTDOOR event. (And hopefully it is priced accordingly...). Again, please prepare to get dirty if the weather is dry, and if it rains you will have muddy shoes. If you wear any type of heel, you will sink into their wet mud. Again, this is another item that Moya still needs to address. (Hello? GREATLY enlarge that tiny patio!). Good grief. Last issue - parking. Many other reviewers have also mentioned this. The parking lot was large, but it was (is) shared by other businesses so finding an actual parking spot was very difficult. Highly recommend if you have to go to Springdale Station that you use a taxi, (etc.) to get there and back. Again, research thoroughly before committing. There are so many other decent venues in Austin, we don't know why anyone would pick this one!

Before you get here, I'd recommend you bring a hat and sunglasses and perhaps even sunscreen. One other thing to keep in mind is that many of the local businesses along the festival do not allow you to use their bathrooms, so you'll have to find one of many porta pottys along the route. As anyone who has been on 6th Street lately knows, the sidewalks are absolutely filthy complete with vomit, broken glass and in desperate need of repair and power washing. You'll also find some homeless activity along the sides of the street. There are hundreds of vendor pop-up tents along with some stages set up on the side streets for local musicians. The length of this festival stretches from I 35 to Brazos Street on 6th Street. There are play areas and rides for the kids which cost a few dollars each. Here's just a partial list of what you'll find here: face painting, wind chimes, boba tea, pet goods, cutlery, furniture, perfumes, cbd gummies not to mention every other knickknack imaginable that you'd expect to see here. Plenty of street food and drinks here as well. However, some of these food places do not have any pricing, which means the bill will be more expensive than you realize. There are a lot of people that show up to this festival with their dogs and strollers, but it's not especially crowded. So is this free festival worth attending? Yes especially if it is your first time. If you don't mind the grime and the high prices this should be on your list. Lots of pictures included for added insight.

There's so much fun stuff to do like bowling (16 lanes) and roller skating at the indoor roller rink. There's food court, movie theatre and arcade too. There are rooms for parties, events, and more. I've attended a few events at this complex. It's clean and well-maintained and an important space for kids and families. It started as a safe space for kids. Wonderful part of our neighborhood.

Let me start with the $20 parking fee, that hurts. Then it's a really long walk to the carnival entrance, another $10 for access to the fairground, and then another however much for rides. During spring break it was $25 for kids during the day (half off) and the make you pay extra for the paper wristband so $27. So you're already $67 in and haven't even done anything yet. The carnival looks old, all the kids ride are just old old old. And most of them your toddler can't ride unless you're with him, so buy another wristband for yourself! And the people working it look like they wish they could be anywhere but there. The food was normal carnival food but extra gross. And expensive. Overall we had a good time because our kids don't know any different, and we love to dress up and go to rodeo. The petting zoo was a cute attraction for the kids, and we love walking the exposition hall. Is it the best rodeo? No. Could it use a good upgrade for the price? Yes. Will I go again next year because that's all we got? Yes.

The amount of events was astounding, though, you do feel a little bad for the little cattle getting wrestled or roped to the ground. Alas, life of a cowboy! The carnival & fair are nice - just your old basic fair with big stuffed animals, hard-to-win games, rides with questionable safety factors, and artery clogging foods. Was it a good experience? Yes. Would I go again? This was probably a one time thing for me.

We sat in the 200s and had a great view of the events and musical performers. The beer vendors were plentiful. The line for refreshments, merchandise and bathroom were all short. The restrooms were cleaner than you'd expect for a rodeo. Outside, the carnival was setup in a way that there was plenty of room for people to walk around. The only downer is that it's a pretty good trek from parking to expo center but parking only cost $5. I don't know what other events are held here but based on this experience it's a good spot to be for spectators.
