I left my jacket there last night and was the last woman to leave. I called them today (October 30th) to ask them to hold on to it for me until I could pick it up. The girl on the other line didn't bother to ask what style, color, or brand it was and just said "I'll check lost and found later and call you". No one called back. Horrible customer service. Manager refused to talk to us when their computer flipped on our card. We are consistent customers and have been coming for years. Talked to another person who had the same problem and they said the computer was right and me, the customer, was wrong. This place has gone down hill. Good place even with the pandemic going on. They are currently under construction adding 3 more pools/hot tubs. The boys that work here do a good job at making sure the water temp is where it needs to be. Good customer service and great place for kids too. What a beautiful winter evening for the hot springs. Came tonight and had a very relaxing time. Funny people were complaining that the water was too hot... hmmm at a hot springs lol.. there are very few people so it was nice and peaceful. There's a huge waterfall you can stand under for a max five minutes per person and it really helps your muscles .. I do think for the amount of time you can actually spend here that the price could be a bit lower. If you have never been here give it a try on a snowy night it's just beautiful. Even more crazy on the way there right out in front a huge pack of wild horses crossed the road . read more

Wonderful Place!! ! We had an amazing time doing underwater exercises for our legs & core and the water felt absolutely incredible! So relaxed and rejuvenated from enjoying the two hour private mineral spa and 30 minute sauna. Unfortunately, upon entering the women's sauna, a woman was changing her baby's diaper inside and her other young boy was at her side... the whole sauna stunk of poop mixed with baby powder. Not only is it extremely unsafe and unsanitary for children to be in there, it's so inconsiderate of other women who want to use the sauna. I used the men's sauna with no problem however, it seems like the private areas can vswatched over more carefully. read more

Been coming here for years but overheard a conversation yesterday that prompted this review. So someone was commenting on their logo, it's is of the Sierras over the Water from the springs. Soo, naturally, while in the springs pool you should be able to see the mountains. And boy oh boy, this is my favorite corner of the world during the beautiful sunsets of Nevada. NOW you can't even see the mountains while in the pool because of the brick wall their constructing around the springs (I've been told it's to deter people hopping the fence to get in). Still, there has to be a better way, no one cares about the lights/noise from the parking lot, privacy from the outdoor pool, and people sneaking in, other than management from what I can gather. There's got to be a better way than to ruin the best part about your hot springs. If not, maybe change your logo...? I have some personal thoughts but, I'll be considerate and not complain in length about the misc. management issues I've noticed or the price increases or punch card issues I've had or the reduction in operation hours. The price for the rooms is $25 per person for 2 hours. Ours was the 104 degree room. There was stuff floating in our water and it made my skin really itchy. I paid for 2 hours and spend maybe 20 minutes there. The walls were really chipped and anytime you accidentally touch the walls stuff drops in the pool. I've been to most hot springs in the region, and i hear about the rest. This spring is, hands down, the best in the west. Sure there is another spring that's "upscale" in its appearance, but the reason for my high rating is the quality of the water at the Carson springs. It's the cleanest I've ever swam in, in any pool or hot spring. Other pools have chlorine in them, and other hot springs have alot of weird funny stuff floating around in the water. Other pools and springs always make me feel filthy. Not this one: the staff checks the water temperature and quality at least once an hour, and adjusts accordingly. Also, just about every doctor in the area you visit will tell you to go to this hot spring as part of their treatment regimen for you, whether it's to treat muscle pain, joint pain, etc. This spring is literally the best part of living in the area. You'll almost always find several good-looking elders who frequent this spot, who swear that the springs are the reason for their unusually good health and youthful appearance. The crowd is also extremely nice. It's a healthy blend of internationals and locals, and since they're all in such a good mood, they frequently socialise and are understanding of one another. People there are also insightful enough to know if you just want to be left alone. Of the dozens of times I've been there, not once has another guest made me feel ill-at-ease. The best time to go: winter. The colder it is, the better. It's gorgeous watching all the thick steam rolling off the water surface when it's chilly out. There's also a health-conscious restaurant right next door called Sassafras that caters to those with gluten sensitivities. If you ask, they will probably serve your food at the spring! They did for us! If you or someone you like is visiting northern Nevada, tell them this hot spot: The Carson Hot Springs, is a must! This place is truly unique and is one of my favourite places in the world! read more

I've been here a couple times now and have mostly enjoyed the experience. I have back issues, so any opportunity I can get to loosen my back, I jump at. First trip was a weekend around noon. Right off the bat, like others have mentioned, the women working at the front are really unfriendly and unwelcoming. At one point my BF tried to leave to go to his truck to grab me some water and they yelled at him to return the sign for the door, indicating we were leaving. He assured them we weren't leaving and they rolled their eyes. When we were getting ready to leave, I popped into the restroom for a minute while my BF waited for me, and again they yelled at him, this time to stand outside. What are they so mad about? Is it that difficult to work the front desk at a hot springs? For the first trip were able to reserve a private room for 2 hours, which worked out well. The room (as pictured below) looked a little rough and could definitely use some refreshing. My boyfriend and I paid $56, which I'm now seeing others paid and had access to inside and outside? Nobody has ever mentioned access to the outside as well, so I'm not sure if I bought the wrong package or they just aren't giving all the info. When you are under the impression you can only be in your private room for the reservation period, two hours seems like a bit much. I mean, it's hot like a hot tub so any more than 30mins in there and you feel on the verge of passing out. Having the ability to go outside would have been great. I think both times we stayed only about an hour or less because it gets so hot in the private rooms. I did notice both times that the outside pool area was almost entirely just gangs of children running around, so to be honest, I'm not sure how much more appealing the outside pools are. read more

When they ask their clients to tolerate the construction they should at least give them something for the inconvenience, for example a discount.. especially since you are giving less for more money and even that is not happening now. I've been to similar places in CA, ID and OR. Prices can be more or less but they all have much more to offer in comparison in terms of services provided, atmosphere and customer service. So I expect more when you make me pay more, it was ok when it was cheap.. you get what you pay for.. Last few times I went in the staff was just grumpy. read more

The bathrooms are so clean and they have granite step into the pool. The space is so clean I can't believe I have not been here. Me and girlfriend came to have mini spa day for my friend's birthday. It's $15 to use the pool, hot tubs and saunas all day. I see some reviews complaining about the size of the changing/shower room but I thought it was plenty spacious, clean and the showers were nice. You need to bring a lock if you'd like to use the lockers and just know the lockers are very small. I would not suggest leaving any of your things in the locker room not in the locker. We locked our keys, purses and phones, because that's all that fit. We left our bags and sweatshirts hanging on hooks in the locker room, thinking they would be fine. They were not. When we came back in from lunch my bag had been moved onto a hook in one of the showers and was soaking wet. My friends ugg boots were placed in a bathroom stall on top of a dirty plunger. My sweatshirt was stolen as well as my my friend's beanie, and my other friends bra and sunglasses. This isn't the staff's fault, just some garbage person who was there that day who though it would be fun to fuck with our shit and then steal from us. Anyways, the pool was really nice and so were the hot tubs. After a soak we had a nice time in the sauna with some sheet masks. I think next time we will try a private room soak. The fire pit outside was nice. We will sit by it next time after we are done soaking but we were too pissed about our stolen stuff so we went to Shoe Tree for a beer instead. We'll be back but next time keep our belongings next to us. Hooks outside the saunas for robes and towels would be a nice addition. read more

The hot springs were pleasant and mostly clean. Nice location and a competitive price. I was interested in bringing my wife back with me and getting a room, so on the way out I stuck my head into a vacant and unlocked private tub to see. One of the workers saw and began dressing me down for using something I had not paid for, "stealing" from the hot spring. After she looked at the cameras she apologized for publicly attacking me for something I had not done. Too little. I would not recommend Carson HS based on this very embarrassing and unfortunate experience. read more

Relaxing fall day at the hot springs. My folks were visiting Tahoe and we love some hot springs. This place has ultiple pools and hot tubs to choose from as well as different temps in each. Hot water comes out of a hammer above the pool and you can sit under it for a neck and back massage. Felt like a hot stone massage. The staff does a great job policing the areas making sure everyone can relax and enjoy themselves. It's probably not a great place for kids that want to splash and play at the pool all day as this is not allowed. Water is mineral water as well so no burning eyes or itchy skin. Bring your own towels as they only rent towels. They also have pad locks for lockers but we just put our stuff in a bag by our chair. Everyone there was friendly and they have a restaurant and brewery in front of you want to eat or drink before or after. They also have a snack bar but not sure what can go to the pool areas. Only thing that would have made it better was a Bloody Mary but the bar was closed the day we went. read more

I was in town to visit family and was looking for massage places when I ran into this on yelp. Though I lived here for 10 years, I had no idea this existed. After reading reviews, I was a bit weary, but decided to take a chance and check out their natural hot spring water spas. I can't speak highly enough about my experience there. The front desk was nice and welcoming, and I was able to check out a private spa room for 2 hours at $20 (so affordable!). The water was amazing! It is 100% natural sweet water, crystal clear, and odorless! The private rooms also really allow you to relax. I will say the place is a bit rustic (as opposed to calling it run down :), and spa in the strictest sense of the word may not apply... BUT! keeping all those unnecessary LA type of frills at bay here at Carson Hot Springs really allows this facility to be affordable and accessible to ALL! Hot springing in the winter-time is probably one of my favorite things to do (if you haven't tried it, you must!). Carson Hot Springs are my "go to" hot springs. They offer a pool and two hot tubs. The water in all pools is natural mineral water. In addition to the general admission, you can buy spa packages. I've enjoyed every visit here and it's location is great because it is on the Reno side of Carson City. I've noticed that recently they raised their prices a few dollars. Also, each time I go I notice a little more wear and tear on the facilities. This is expected in a place with such heavy traffic. I recommend checking out Carson Hot Springs sometime: its close to Reno, family-friendly, affordable, and a fun place to visit. read more

I wouldn't really call this place a resort, unless Webster's Dictionary recently updated their definition of the word. To me, the word "Resort" inspires visions of luxury and amenities, of which this place sorely lacks. So the word resort may be a bit pretentious in this case... However, if you are looking for a simple, relaxing day at a hot springs without paying an arm and a leg, this is it. It's basically an outdoor pool with a large tube that feeds the hot springs. They provide very minimum basic pool toys like noodles. Nothing fancy, nothing to oooh at. The bathrooms are bare bones and you share changing quarters with everyone else. If it's not too cold out, you can cool off by lounging on the first-come, first-served chairs provided around the pool. For a little bit more, you can also get your own private room with a smaller hot tub. I'm not sure if they still do this, but there's a little divey bar next door, and in the past, you could order food to be delivered to you poolside. read more

Gayle and I are in Genoa for the weekend visiting her Mom. A dip in a Hot Springs was on our list, but not at the $50 per person price offered by David Walley's. Instead we booked a private bath at Carson Hot Springs at $15 each, which also included the outdoor pools, towels, and of course the Senior Discount. Yes, the place can be a little rough at the edges. However, that's part of the charm and they are putting money into this place as evidenced by a newly remodeled Unit #H and the new dry saunas. Gayle and I had a very nice time here, we'll be back, and probably with with more family members. We also took a peak at the adjacent Sassafras Bar and Restaurant, and look forward to the 2016 opening of their brew pub venture. The only mystery to us are the adjacent "motel buildings", which Gayle's brother alludes to an alleged "swinging" reputation. I'm not sure about that, but my impression is that Carson Hot Springs is a fun and family friendly Nevada recreational opportunity. And if you want a more bright and shiny yupscale locale, priced accordingly and without the interesting variety of local community members around, then head south to Genoa. read more

Our check-in process was negative. Not a smile from the front desk whatsoever. They only allow one party inside at a time in the lobby, even when raining. We love the pools, but the changing room is insufficient for the high volume of people going in there. 2 bathroom stalls were inoperative, and the one working stall didn't flush correctly. The lockers sit right in front of the door where people are exposed when anyone opens the door to get in. While in the pool we witnessed a man spitting on the ground, which was gross. Wondering about the cleanliness. We like coming here, but some of these things make our experience less than hoped. And why is there no better connection between Shoetree and Sassafras? read more

They're ok, the spring water isn't as intense as some other hot spring water I've tried. I can't feel the intensity of it. Bathroom and changing is just like typical public pool type, not super clean but not crazy dirty.. but I'd keep my flip flops on just in case. (Not sure if they sanitize it) Not allow locker use unless you use private room. I brought a lock for no reason :( I hated that water spraying thing that comes out from the pipes up top to the pool (forgot what they call it).. It's like heavy rain.. I can't swim well so I stay around 4-5 feet where it's intensely beating at your face (annoying) so I have to stay at the crowded 4-5 feet area on the other side where everyone is obviously avoiding that pipe water lol. So I started swimming at the deep end endangering myself since there's no lifeguards. I thought this stuff was good for your skin and body, but My skin is intensely irritated (all over my body) itchy and hot burning sensation bumps now from swimming here under the sun. I'm not sure if I'm allergic to something in the water? Or because there's a kid with Elephantiasis that went in the water...? I didn't want to be mean or anything but I'm kinda scared that his parasites got to me because their water is non-chlorinated. but.. will have to wait and see if it's just my allergies. :( I don't want Chemo therapy..... read more

I used to love going here but recently the staffing has been terrible. This older women who works there was really rude to my family and I. The business has a rule now that only one party can be inside when checking in. It was raining so we wanted to be inside and the older women made some snarky comment about the sign outside. She also demanded that we go outside... no "please" or "thank you". There were two other staff members who were there who also had negative attitudes. I spend a day here with my family and it was amazing! The water in the pool was really warm, it was very relaxing. My mom goes there a lot to get help for sore joints and muscles, it really helps. It's very affordable (around 10$). You can bring your food, drinks, books - they have tables, chairs, etc. We went on a weekday, so it wasn't very crowded, apparently weekend are a lot more crowded. Make sure to bring a lot of water to keep yourself hydrated, otherwise you might get lightheaded from sun and hot water. The only reason for 4 stars is that the facility looks a little dated, but I'll definitely go there again. read more
