I live in my work loafers and they were coming apart at the toe all the way to the arch, and were also in desperate need of new insoles. Since they were nicely broken in after 2 years of constant wear, I took them to Carson Shoe Repair, and within the week they were seemingly brand new. George, the owner, did a great job! My loafers look and feel incredible. With the repair and insole replacement, (which was much better than buying a Dr. Scholl from a big box store), I did spend a couple nice pennies, but I felt it was totally worth it. Well George, here's your one star for your poor customer service today being so unfriendly, rude and impatient! This was my first visit after shopping around 9 other shoe repair shops by phone, because you beat the competition by $5 per pair, but now you have lost $150 for three pairs of shoes. I came into your store after calling you yesterday about installing "miracle sole or Topy" that's a thin, durable rubber layer in which a cobbler applies to the full bottom of a shoe thereby extending the life of your shoes. Very expensive, but works! However, I knew by my first impression that you were not friendly, didn't even smile and became angry after I asked for the price again with a mean response of "I TOLD YOU!" I presented you with a worn pair of Top Sperry boat shoes and you were irritated with my every basic question. You then began to sigh heavily by rolling your eyes too like I was bothering you. I was trying to be patient with you because of your reasonable price and after I came back upon exiting to ask you another question about filling the worn heel corner with material, you sighed again then wanted to charge another $10 without explaining the process. Luckily, I found and hired Anthony's shoe repair in Torrance being in my neighborhood whose has been in business for 66 years, but she would not provide a quote over the phone. In regards to that worn heel corner, the male owner could fix that issue by just sanding down to make even for a better appearance before applying Topy being the preferred method. One dollar less too or $49/pair along with his professional service was perfect! In summary, you have just lost a new customer, George! NEVER SAY "I TOLD YOU!" to a customer! Phenomenal! That's all I can say. I brought in a pair of leather knee high boots, which required new heels. I also brought in a pair of doc Martin boots that have come undone at the side seams. Next I had a pair of summer sandal wedges that had lost it s heel. Lastly I brought in my favorite pair of leather wedges that I've had for years and that have completely fallen apart. Needless to say Carson shoe repair were stellar at repairing all of my shoes. But the showstopper where the leather wedges. I've looked everywhere for this exact pair of shoes, because that's how much I love them, and I have not been able to find them anywhere. They had to be revived! The leather stripes had split from its backing, the soul had come unattached and the foot strap had come out and was flapping all over the place. These shoes belonged in the trash but I could not bring myself to do it. It was about a hundred bucks to do all four pairs of shoes and the leather wedges were worth that on its own. Wow! I'm glad I came here. The gentleman told me he will not be able to do my boots bec they are cheaply made and flimsy (Roxy boots are not cheap in price though!).
