My Tacoma had been hit in the side bed panel causing about $4,500 dollars in damage. Fortunately the other driver just paid out of pocket. Since I was bringing the truck in for repairs anyway, I decided to pay out of pocket for a damaged tailgate that wasn't opening properly. The manager, Roget, gave me estimates for each repair and we agreed on a timeline. Carstar did an amazing job. They nailed the rather odd blue paint exactly. Wonderful service! I was driving home to Sacramento from Eureka, and when I got to Laytonville, I noticed that the left rear quarterpanel of my Subaru was very loose, to the point I was worried I might lose it. I asked Siri to find me a body shop, and I am *SO* glad she sent me here. I called and explained the situation, and they said to bring the car in. I rolled in, they looked at the car, and said that a couple of pins holding the quarterpanel were broken. Everyone was polite, friendly, and professional. They got the car right into the shop, and about 20 minutes later, I was ready to roll out with a couple of new pins. When I asked how much, they said "No Charge." Again, I offered to pay, and they refused to take my money. Aabsolutely fantastic people!! I recently got the passenger side of my car repaired (thanks Babe for having an encounter with the telephone poll in Birch, lol ). Yokum's is the only place that I will take my car for auto body repair. Locally owned and personal over the top service! With one phone call, after filing my insurance claim, I was able to schedule the repair and get my rental from Yokum's. Yes, they have rentals available!! I rented a Honda Civic, dropped off my poor injured car, hopped in the rental and off I went... no fuss, no muss! Good thing they provide the rentals cars, Enterprise was fresh out! Finally, as we neared the end of the repair period, I called and asked if the did oil changes. They do not, BUT Will offered to take my car to Les Schwab (thanks Miguel!) for me before I picked up my car to get it serviced! Super Cool as I don't have the time or patience to do it myself... All-in-all, yet another great experience with a company that treats you like family. Occasionally I am pleasantly amazed by a business. This is one of those times! Several months ago I was stupid and made too tight of a turn while backing my travel trailer. The anti sway bar made a gouge in the plastic bumper of my brand new Toyota Tundra. I lived with it for a while and then saw an ad for Yokum's saying they gave free estimates. I dropped in and spoke to Yesenia. I explained that I didn't need a full on repair, but was wondering if they could give me an estimate to make it look better. Yesenia went to the shop and brought back Adrian. He had me back the truck into the service bay and I watched as in the space of 15-20 minutes he filled, sanded, and painted. Now... you can hardly tell it was there. When I asked about the cost they both just smiled and said "Just tell someone else about us and enjoy the rest of your day!" It turns out that as of 11/22, the two body/glass shops on the Mendocino coast have waiting lists months long, and the next closest body shop are in Willits or Ukiah. Found both CarStar/Yokum's Willits and Ukiah shops so accommodating and wiling to review photos to render a preliminary opinion that saved State Farm having cars towed 100 miles just for estimates. Amy and Brian are smart, genuine people ready to help, and worth the trip. read more

Well I love the staff they get along well and treat you well too like a best friend. I did get a little naggy like hurry with my car repair but they assured me they work carefully as to make sure your car is perfect. My car got in a fender bender and I was not happy. And although insurance can't force anyone to go to the repair shop they recommend, I went with Yokums, their choice. Glad I did. I live a bit away from Yokums but worth the time and drive and my car looks great. Hope I never have an accident again but if so, Yokums is where to go. read more

Stopped by Yokum's to get an estimate on fixing a clip that broke off my front bumper. They pulled my car in the garage and within 10 minutes it came back out fixed! Took my car in for 2 window repair. The workers billed for an extra hour of glass clean up, but neglected to do so. I realized this when my dog yelped from a cut in his paw. Most significantly, my tinted windows were replaced with non tinted ones. Now I am inconvenienced to get it re done. There was also white residue left around the window area, on the seat belts, and on the floor board. Not only did the workers do a sloppy job, billing for extra work left undone, they stole an item from my car. I have a magnet attached to the dash for my phone. The magnet was ripped off the dash, taking the finish off with it. My dash is damaged and needs to be repaired. This is unacceptable! read more

Went to Yokum's a few weeks ago to repair a flap that had come loose on the front of my BMW. I was there near 5pm just to get an appointment. Instead, they insisted on fixing it immediately! I took my truck in for detail and wash. When call I went pick it up. I inspected it found that it was poorly washed there where bug splattered everywhere the roof was not even washed the bed of the truck was not washed. Then they waxed over bugs and dirty spots. I moved to Humboldt about 9 months ago and I am still getting used to not being 15 minutes away from where ever or whatever I want! I am also not used to the shitty service in garberville and Redway. But alas that is not what I want to say, what I want to say is this body shop is kind, patient, knowledgable and willing to work with you. My car got a little kiss my car is ready except for a bumper foot pad. Ford keeps sending a faulty bumper foot pad no fault to them at all. Luckily I have full coverage and got a rental for free!! They offered to let me have my car and just return to pop on the stupid foot pad but I declined as it is a pain for me to drive 1.5 hours one way, twice and give up my rental!!! They completely understood! Lorenzo knows my case and car and I swear he lives there because whenever I call he is there to help. Thank you Lorenzo for all the service you have provided me!! I will return to this survey once I get my car back and I can check it out for myself but I don't have any doubt that it will be outstanding!!! :) UPDATED 12/29/15 I can't. Yokums handled a complicated fix on my Mercedes. It took awhile for all parts to arrive (not their fault) so the fix took much longer than expected, but they called with updates 2x/week and were easy to reach if I needed to. They handled everything with insurance so I didnt have to deal with it. I also had to come pick up the car on a Saturday and Lorenzo gave me his personal cell number and met me there so I could pick it up outside of business hours. This body shop has great customer service! I called for an appointment to have a tail light replaced. I'm pretty handy myself, but I couldn't figure out how to get the bulb out following the manufacturer directions. They told me to come in when convenient, no appointment necessary. I thought maybe they weren't too busy, but that was not the case! I stopped by on a Friday afternoon, they had to move vehicles around in the shop to get mine in, it was pouring down rain. They had my car finished in 15 minutes and would not accept payment for their service.(I brought the replacement bulb with me.) My husband had a car accident a few miles south of Willets and his car was towed to an impound lot to await pick up. Since we live several hours south, it took my daughter and I awhile to get to Willets, find the car, and figure out what to do. By the time we determined that it couldn't be driven any distance, it was going on 4:30 on a Friday night. We couldn't leave it at the towing yard as it would cost $50/day for every day it sat there but not knowing the area, we didn't know what to do. We were able to drive the car to a nearby car repair shop. They took one look at the car and recommended Yokum's. My daughter called them and spoke with Lorenzo, who said he would wait for us to be towed over. It was going on 6;00pm by the time we got to Yokum's, but Lorenzo was right there waiting for us, as he'd promised. He's keeping the car for us, he'll deal with the insurance adjuster on our behalf, and, if the car is totaled, we don't even have to be there as he's already had us sign the required paperwork. It may seem like a small thing that someone agrees to stay open an extra hour to help you. But when you're a stranger in a small town and don't know anyone, facing a weekend when shops are closed, and stressed out looking at the car you've been driving for several years, seeing it smashed both front and back... Well, a little kindness goes a long, long way. So, thank you, Lorenzo. Should our insurance company determine the car is worth repairing, we will not hesitate to have Yokum's do the repair. read more

My experience with Yokum's started in September. I bought a used truck in July and wanted rocker panels RINO lined to prevent damage. Went into Yokum's Collision repair and was told it would be 900 dollars. I agreed to the price and left my truck with them for the work. Three days later I am told my truck was done and it would only be 499 dollars because it wasn't as white as they expected. More beige then white. Anyone dealing with a 20,000 dollar vehicle that knows thier stuff would have made a test spray to check color. Not these guys, they went ahead and sprayed it. So OK price is good, I am OCD but will live with the color. Then I start looking harder and no this is not OK. From side to side at the rear of my truck the lines differ by more then a inch in height. There is some over spray. And in the first 2 days it starts picking up dirt that it won't release. I returned to Yokum's and they agreed that it was no good and they would need to strip and redo. I was busy and unable to return till December at which time I left my truck with them after pointing out all the failures from the first attempt. They had my truck for a week and when I returned to pick it up the lines were still off side to side, more over spray then the first time and a layer of what they said was Bondo dust, guess my truck didn't mean enough to them to protect it. This was Friday night week and a half before Christmas, so we agree this is still wrong and that I will drop it the following Monday so it can be done right and the Bondo dust cleaned off. Monday comes I drop my truck off to them for the 3rd attempt at a job they are advertising that they do with a banner hanging in front of their business. This time they raise the height of the lining again bringing it up nearly 3 inches higher then I wanted it. They fail to mask properly resulting in massive over spray, lines that don't match and are not straight, all 3 attempts have started peeling within couple weeks of being applied. When I went to pick it up the 3rd time the person working on it has a can of spray solvent/ paint surface prep spray and a shop rag wiping the Bondo dust off. Causing over 10,000 dollars in damage to clear coat, headlights, paint and plastic parts. The truck that I paid 21,000 dollars for and the 2,500 dollar shell and 1,000 dollars worth of tires for a total of nearly 25,000 dollars in July of 2016. Yeah same guy worked on it all 3 times. See a management problem ? The owner refuses to properly compensate for damages caused by his employee. He did offer to purchase my truck for 1,000 over trade in value for a total of 13,500 on the truck I am into nearly 25,000 for a net loss to me his customer of 11 Thousand plus dollars and the money paid for a job that they apparently were not qualified to perform. read more

I really wish I didnt have to give them a star. I took my car to Jeff because he said he could make it like new again... Ha Ha.. What a joke.. My car was hit on the front passenger side. None of the parts line up correctly! Then they painted the whole side of the car they said to blend... Oh my gosh it looks like it has been in a wreck! Orange peel!!!! Looks liket hey might of wrecked it while it was there because what was a 17000 mile car is now a piece of shit!!! Not only was the paint on the body bad but the hood also looks bad. Worst paint work I have ever seen! Then to top it off on my way home from pickig up my car I had no light in the front so I got pulled over by CHP..I asked him if everything was checked before I left.. oh yes he said I did it personally.. After it took them over two months to complete within ONE WEEK my door handles started peeling I told them about it yet they refused to fix saying they didn't paint handles...Ya right I guess you blended the whole side but not the handles right? Took my car to another body shop to see if they could make it right they said the work was so bad they didn't want to touch it unless I agree to start all over paint whole car!!! Oh and by the way when I picked it up it had a run going down the door he called his deatil guy to fix yet it still wasnt fixed had a chip in the paint where they worked on it.. I would not recomend them to my worst enemy. My friend also had a similar experience. Go to Ukiah or Santa Rosa. His work caused my car to go down in value over $7000.00 per estimate form car dealership. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!! YOUVE BEEN WARNED!!!! THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THERE WORK BECAUSE THERE WORK SUCKS!!!!!! Larry and Donna take a closer look at your car.. I guarentee you will find it is a lousy job. Accident on April 22 got my car back JULY 14???? You count the days!!! That seems like a little more than three weeks......Trhee weeks thats how long Jeff said it would take to make it look like new again... When I told Jeff the work was bad he then told me I expected to much!! I wanted a show car paint job!!! No Jeff just to look like new as you promised.
