HIGHLY RECOMMEND I took my SUV last week to Todd's to have some body work done ... punctured hole in a front panel from when I lost a battle with a temporary parking fence. From the moment I stepped into their office, to every interaction I had with several employees, all were courteous and professional in every way. FYI, you initially take your vehicle in for a quote. Make an appointment and that process took less than a half hour in total. Agreed with their quote, scheduled my car to bring in and they said it would take 2 to 3 days and they were true to their word. But most importantly of all, their work is outstanding! You'd never know of my lost battle with that parking fence! The repair looks perfect! I would definitely recommend to family and friends to take their vehicle(s) here if ever in need of body work. We went to Todd's for a quote to replace a broken passenger side mirror. They quoted $900. We were told it was priced at this rate due to having to open the door panel which involved dealing with sensors. After observing a YouTube video we ordered the mirror for $65 and it took us 15 minutes to install. We did not need to remove the door panel and no sensors were involved. After popping open the mirror panel with a screw driver we only had to remove 3 screws and detach the electrical connector and repeat in reverse. We don't care what you quote but would appreciate honesty. read more

I had the front end completely redone on my 2012 Taurus SHO after an accident, less then 8 months later the clear coat was peeling off the hood, fenders and front bumper (not from rock chips, the clear coat was separating from the paint underneath). I wanted to wait to see how long their work would hold up before i left a review. The clips that hold my front bumper on towards the fender were broke and never replaced, so i have to push my front bumper back into place every-time take the car somewhere. read more

I had made an appointment at service king a month prior and they denied to help me, once i called my insurance company they routed me to todd's body shop on the same day! they squeezed me in immediately and helped me with my car. i had been in a collision resulting in irreparable damage to my car. Andrea Bracken was the inspector of my car she was very helpful and guided me throughout the steps needed for my car. She was very diligent and responsive to my questions. She explained things very clearly and gave me choices i could do for the future of my car. I've never once written a yelp review but she was very helpful throughout the process so she deserves this! My car broke down on i-55 northbound between black road and canton farm road. Now mind you I have road side assistant with my auto insurance. I called them first, true waste of time and cell phone power. After 25 minutes they said they couldn't ping my location and were unable to help. So, with little cell power left i called Todd's. My car was recently totaled. My family has gone to Todd's for years, so when I had a wreck, I knew where to take it. Unfortunately, the car's frame was bent and it was totaled. Today, I went to go pick up my things from the car. I asked if someone could please pull off my plates for me. A gentleman told me where to find the car and showed me a place to pull up close to the vehicle. I pulled up and started clearing out my stuff. The man, who turned out to be the owner, Todd, insisted upon helping me to clear out my car even though it was less than 20 degrees out. Even when I protested that it was freezing and told him he didn't have to spend time doing this, he stayed. I got all my things out of the car and got on my way. Before I left, Todd said that when I buy a new car, feel free to bring it in and they would inspect it for me. Todd went above and beyond to help me and I am truly blown away by his kindness. Although I hope not to need a body shop for a long time, I definitely recommend this as a wonderful place: knowledgable and kindhearted staff, fair pricing and OUTSTANDING customer service! read more

After over 13 years of trouble-free riding, the other day for some strange reason my half-a-ton of touring motorcycle (Honda Gold Wing) chose to go "belly-up" on me at a DuPage county forest preserve on the east side of Naperville. UH-OH! The relative upside to this totally unexpected setback was that the weather was good, I was only a few miles from home and the bike was parked safely off the road. But still, what to do? Call triple-A! The first "provider" summoned by the mighty motor-club (out of Naperville) responded promptly enough (within an hour), but with the wrong type of tow-truck. Hmmm... Seeing as how I had specified very clearly to the AAA rep that the situation required a FLATBED to securely transport this particular motorcycle, I politely questioned the driver about the obvious mistake. His first response was an incredulous "What do you mean 'wrong truck'?", and when I insisted he go back to his shop and return with the originally-requested piece of equipment this fairly young man climbed back into his truck & took off "in a huff", presumably to return with flatbed. Not-so-fast-forward a mosquito-infested 90 minutes (did I mention I was in the woods?) and I am on the phone looking for an update from AAA, who then informs me that the disgruntled driver from company #! (T&A towing) reported that I was "uncooperative & refused service". REALLY? An apologetic triple-A rep then put me on hold & called Todd's, who had to come all the way from Plainfield. Even so, a very polite & professional young gent named Scott showed up in an amazingly short time after I finished setting the record straight with a triple-A rep sitting t the other end of the help-line somewhere in Texas. Scott showed great care & expertise as he deployed the dolly which is specially designed to cradle the front-end as the motorcycle is gently hoisted up onto the flatbed. Once he carefully leveled out the rear-end of the shiny new truck, Scott took great pains to be sure the bike was securely strapped down for it's relatively short ride home. Triple A will be notified of the superior service rendered by this "provider", to be sure. Hey Todd, Scott is definitely "a keeper", and probably could use a raise. I'm just sayin'... read more

We took our vehicle for an estimate to repair two dents on the door that were damaged in a parking lot. Very minor damage done, however one was more than a simple dent and was deep. I was shocked when we got the estimate for almost $2000. Labor was 14 plus hours, which didn't make sense to me. Took the vehicle to another repair shop and the repair looks fantastic and was completed for $450! Please consider multiple quotes. read more

I brought my car here for claims work with State Farm. The one issue i have with this place, which is the reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars, is the hours of operation for the body shop. They are only open 8-5 M-F, which doesn't work if you also work 8-5 M-F, which is exactly what i do. It worked out because my mom was able to go settle the deductible and pick up my keys for me. They were very polite on the phone. I had to drop it after hours because of work. While it was sitting in the parking lot waiting for me to pick it up after work, somehow a large scrape happened on one of the rear quarter panels. I left the car overnight again and put a key in the drop box. As soon as they could, they called me the next morning, incredibly apologetic. They offered to fix it for me no questions asked, even though they were pretty sure they themselves didn't actually cause the issue. I would definitely recommend this place again, and the only reason i may choose another body shop over this in the future is the hours of operation don't coincide with my work hours. I would basically have to take a half day to pick up my car if it weren't for my Mom being able to help me. read more

Do not, I repeat, do not take your vehicle to Todd's Body Shop in Plainfield. My car was stolen from their body shop while having repairs done in January. This company was an absolute nightmare to work with. We have the video surveillance. It was extremely easy for these criminals to nonchalantly open the garage, take the keys (that were not locked up), and drive my car right off of the lot. When I expressed my disappointment, all ties were cut off, and I was told to deal directly with the insurance because they didn't feel that we should "communicate" anymore. I was forced to pay them for some of the work that they had done, even though they really couldn't prove what had been done or hadn't. It was a complete nightmare. Ever since Todd retired and his son took over, I have heard nothing but horror stories. It's very disappointing because it used to be "the place" to take your car. Now, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. I still cannot believe the way that this was handled. Save yourself a huge headache, and find a new body shop, with an owner that actually cares about his customers. read more

My wife chose Todd's based on several different reviews and how close it was for our commute. This couldn't have been further from the truth. Her vehicle was struck by a piece of road debris and sustained a large dent in the roof and we worked with our insurance to have the repairs made. The completed the repairs on time and the repaired portion of the car looked good.....I picked up the vehicle and then my wife found that the dome light lens was missing, found out in removing it they broke it and ordered a new one but neglected to tell us. We then reviewed everything and found they'd blown the fuse for the accessory port, left dirty fingerprints on the a-post and dirt behind the gauge lenses. We then took it back and they said no problem leave it for the day. Well it turned out to be two more drop offs and a rental car. they did pay for the rental however everytime we dropped it off we had to miss 2 hours of work because of their hours. There are still issues with the inside of the vehicle and we are just too exasperated to bother with taking it back so they can "Make it right" Biggest regret is my wife didnt shop around the work. read more

I was in a car accident. My car was driveable but the car that hit me wasn't. When the tow truck came for the other car, he walked over to see if I was ok. He also checked my car to see if anything was leaking or rubbing so I would be able to drive home. He gave me the company's card and said they also do repair. Because of his kindness we had the car repaired at Todd's. And the same kindness was felt throughout the company. Bob was in charge of our car. He was kind and answered every question I had and kept us updated on the progress of the car. They helped to get a rental and then helped to return the rental. They really are a great place. Hope that I don't have to have a repair again, but if I do I will definitely go back. read more

People notice when things are removed from their cars. Wife got her car back and noticed a few things missing from the car. She was in an accident late at night, not at fault. She forgot a few things in the car, most of which were in her glove box (which she locked beforehand and gave the driver her insurance card.) NO EXCUSE TO LOOK THROUGH THERE! I searched high and low to look for her missing items. They are not high value so we won't bother in court (and also tow truck drivers seem to get away with it anyways). I was going to come back and leave a good tip, as well as thank you for being so helpful. But your drivers seem entitled to take it themselves. Nothing personal Todd, you seem like a good guy. But your drivers apparently have sticky fingers. Really sad you have employees who will take advantage of others dealing with a stressful situation. But hey, i guess if there's no enforcement what's stopping them? Sorry, but will not be coming back. Edit: my wife advised me the driver was a heavier set male with tattoos and a beard. Wonderful experience with Bob and Todd! So nice to me when I was rear ended. Bob kept me posted on repairs and estimated completion. I mean when you have no idea how the insurance stuff works it's great to feel like these people are trustworthy and won't take you for a spin. I took my car here a few months ago to get new windows with new tints after and incident. I was told the job would be exactly how I had my windows previously and it would be quick. They had my car for a week due to multiple mistakes. Once I was finally told it was in "perfect" condition to come pick it up, there was a horrible tint job. It looked better before the incident. I went here today to get an estimate on my car. The lady up front was so sweet and so nice I sat there for maybe two minutes and the gentlemen was ready to do the estimate. We walked to where my car was and he looked at and said oh no there's nothing we can do for you. It's basically a lost. I told him I understand the value of the car isn't high but I just needed this done and argued with me on why he could not do it. He was utterly rude to me. They will never receive my service again. I love this place. From the very first time I started with them over three months ago, I knew I made the right choice. They quality of service I have received by every single member of the staff that I have encountered along the way there has been impeccable. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and caring (something that the health care industry seems to forget about of recent). I am so fortunate to have had Jamie Pribyl as my therapist, she has helped me so much. I have lived with neck and shoulder pain for more years than I would like to admit to, mostly job related due to sitting all day at a computer and the ergonomics instability that comes with that. I have found Jamie to be extremely knowledgeable of her profession, caring and compassionate. We have made some much progress in a few short months and I could not have done this without her outstanding knowledge of her craft. If I could give Todd's less than one star, I certainly would. I dropped my car off for repairs and was told the work would total 2 days to complete. SEVEN days later the car was finally ready. They didn't order the proper parts prior to the drop off. On day 3, when I inquired about a rental car I was informed that I would need to call my insurance company to make a reservation. I also called prior to dropping the car off, and also during the 7 day repair time, to verify that when I came to pick up the car, that all the insurance paperwork had been filed properly, and that there was no balance due. I was told on two separate calls, by the two ladies in the office that there would be NO balance due. I got the call on to pick the car up at 4pm (when they close at 5pm) and had to drop everything and hurry to get there, so I wouldn't have to go another day without a car. The first thing the office assistant asked me was do I have rental car keys that I needed to turn in! WHAT!!!! I was floored, and let her know that I had asked about a rental car since the repairs took 7 days instead of 2, and was told "we don't do that" Then of course she handed me the bill!!! $500, my deductible was due she said. I was irate!! I asked twice if there would be a balance due, and was told there wouldn't. Because the other driver was at fault for my accident, and my insurance co would be reimbursed from them there should have been no $$ due! The office assistance was rude, and insistent that no one in the office told me that. As if I made up the whole thing. They didn't keep any record logs of my calls or inquiries regarding the repairs to my car. DO NOT take your car here....the customer service is sub par at best, and I believe that they worked the system to double dip on a deductible that was not owed! PS.....I have since been reimbursed my deductible from the insurance company. read more

Went in to get an estimate to get a scratch fixed on my brand new Grand Cherokee and the staff was amazing. They looked at the scratch and took it into the service shop and 10 minutes later they brought my vehicle back out and the scratch was gone. The manager did the job personally because the vehicle was only two weeks old. This might have been a simple fix but this company took care of me in a fast and friendly manner that was above and beyond expectation. I would definitely use them to do work on my vehicle again. I brought my car to Todd's October 23rd. After no communication for two weeks, I called and was told they had other cars to get out of the shop. About a week later, they called and said they were beginning to work on it. Another week later, they finally got the rear hatch open. November 20th I had to call them because my 30 day rental was done. I was told they would cover the rental because it had taken so long. On November 29th, they totalled my car. I waited almost a week to hear from the insurance company. Today, December 18th, I received a call from the car rental place saying they had called Todd's and they refused to cover the car since I got the plates off my old car December 1st. Mark was rude and asked me if I was kidding when I asked him if they were going to cover the car since they had if for three weeks before beginning work on it. Never again!!!!!! read more

I've taken my car here twice now for rear bumper repairs. Both times they did the repairs quickly and the quality of work is great. Great customer service, and they even cleaned my car inside and out before I picked it up.
