Yesterday 3/24, I called CSI and said I was looking for a new tire for my golf cart. I told the woman who answered the phone I needed a 205 35 R15 and asked if they have it. She said just a minute and came back on the phone and said yes and the cost was $105. I said great, I will come over there tomorrow and pick it up and have it mounted on my rim. Just to be sure, I called today and the same woman who originally answered the phone told me they have the tire but not yo come until after 2pm because the mechanics would all be at lunch. I asked if I could make an appointment but she said no, it was first come first served. When I arrived I spoke with a man named Ernie and he said it would be about an hour or an hour and a half since he just got back from lunch and he was busy. Even though it takes about 5 minutes to change a golf cart tire. He then asked what size and I toke him 205 35 R15 and he said they don't have it. I told him I confirmed it TWICE with the woman who answered the phone. He said he was sorry but she didn't know what she was talking about because they have a lot of tires. I told him Idrove 40 minutes to get there but he didn't seem to care. My 2001 Gem golf cart had issues taken to CSI for service. Also included was a additional dc converter and the original converter that were suspect . The authorization was given verbally to Earnie to make it operational To the point ,use the furnished dc converter as your technician deem necessary. The manager did not write up a repair order, only verbal. In other words, fix the cart. Upon delivery the cart was parked in my garage, a day or so later I went to move it and my mistake the cart was in neutral, it didn't move. Called CSI and they were going to pick up. One hour later, it dawned on me the switch was in neutral, called back ,apologized, and canceled pick up. Five days later decided to check out the cart. No turn signal,speedometer, or lights. Called Earnie, he said all 3 of his techs said the cart was fine. We discussed the issues and he agreed to bring the cart in .since I've been in the automotive industry for 56 years,with General Motors,and retiring from Chrysler Corp. I've had experience in many aspects of the industry,including service operations. The bottom line, two of 4 12 volt fuses were blown that I discovered . The protective flap that covers the fuse box was untouched including a retainer screw. EARNIE, YOUR TECHS DID NOT CHECK OUT FINAL SERVICE DELIVERY. You said all three said everything was good. In summary, get a written repair order,specific to older Gem golf carts. I would not go there again. read more

They were very fair on pricing. Ended up having them do a full service, brakes replacement, and replaced two tires. They got my cart in a spot where I feel good about it. Ernie took great care of me. Get me informed every step of the way. Pickup and drop off service was seamless. This will definitely be my go to spot moving forward for my gem car needs. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible... Got the cutest cart but it was a lemon. I should have read the reviews previous to purchasing a new golf cart at CSI. From the minute I walked into the shop, I was greeted by Nicole. I had no intention on purchasing at that moment but Nicole showed me a cart that was right up my alley. SOLD! I was so excited!!! They promised me a fully customized NEW (not refurbished) cart and they got to work right away. (Paid in full and not cheap) When I received the cart, it was the cutest thing I've ever seen, perfect for me!!! However, after only having it for 1 day it wouldn't go in reverse, stalled and then broke down in the middle of the street. It had to be towed back to the shop. Stan told me, not a big problem it's just the reverse button was broken but we replaced it and it should work just fine now. I thought it was odd to have those little problems right off the bat so I looked up the VIN # and found that the cart was actually a 2017 used cart but with a new body kit. (It is illegal in California to sell a cart as NEW if it was USED, 6 years old). Stan assured me that everything was brand new except for the chassis and no other problems should arise. A month later the cart started to have battery problems and shorts. Even with the battery always fully charged, making the cart lose major speed. (Highest speed at times 12 miles per hour, which was very embarrassing. Video evidence for proof) The cart was again towed back to the shop and week later Stan told me it was fine just 3 low voltage faults, zero problems and no big deal. Of course I felt not so great with just purchasing it and only driven at most 5 miles. The cart was in the shop for the majority of the 2 month period that I owned it. I asked for a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty to ease my mind of taking it back but Stan told me I was a "Whack Job" and he wasn't going to offer that. I figured if he stood by his product, it wouldn't be a problem. Anyway, I knew many more problems were to come in the future. So I was advised by an attorney to return it, get my money back and go somewhere else. Stan tried to insult me by saying "So is it a case that you just need money or what?" We recently moved to Palm Desert and I knew very quickly the desert lifestyle wouldn't be complete without a golf cart! I started my research to find a Club Car. I wasn't sure yet if I wanted preowned or new. My search started with a custom new one. I learned very quickly that a custom one could take 4-6 months.... I wasn't prepared to wait that long. I asked for a specific battery to be installed. Instead a different brand was installed. CSI corrected that problem after a lengthy discussion. When the cart came back, the watering system leaked. CSI charged us $85 to fix the leak in September 2021. When we came back to the desert this month(December 2021), the watering system still leaked. I called CSI and they said that a new watering system needs to be installed and it would cost to that plus $85 to pick up the cart. Extremely poor service! I will never recommend them to my list of golf friends. read more

I wanted to give a shout out of appreciation to Stan at CSI Palm Desert. We had a unique issue on a tri-mobility scooter. Stan was willing to look at it, problem-solve with me, and ultimately helped me with the installation of a dog leash onto my scooter. Sounds simple, but it wasn't! It required drilling holes through solide metal and a few other things. Stan did not have to take his time to assist me as this was not a golf cart issue nor even anything that would lead to a sale. In addition, we had a golf cart we purchased from a private part and Stan has been willing to assist us with minor issues and adjustments along the way including giving us a full refund for a golf bag attachment that wound up not working for us, even after we had installed it. He didn't have to do that. Stan and his staff have been patient, supportive, and helping throughout all our problem-solving issues. We're happy to have him close to us in Sun City! read more

I could write pages of the hassles we had with CSI, but I'll keep it short. I recorded conversations to be accurate. Dec. 26 2019 - Our cart died. Batteries new quite new, but we were told we needed new batteries. Replaced batteries. Jan. 20, 2020 - one new battery was cracked and covered our floor with acid. CSI replaced cracked battery. Jan. 22 - Cart lasted a day or two and died again. Told another battery was defective and replaced. Kept a few days and returned. Feb. 12 - cart died again. Told it was another defective battery - they had to keep the cart so the battery wholesaler could look at it. Were told the battery replaced. Feb. 19 - cart returned. Cart died after 15 minutes. I suggested they check OUR charger. Turns out the charger was dead. Service manager admitted it might have been the original problem. I called the owner. To sum it up, he said most of what I had been told from Jan. 22 didn't happen. Besides the cracked battery, he said there were no defective batteries. He actually said that everything else was fabricated. I was astounded. Stan was not. We have changed service providers. read more

They kept the cart for several days and when they brought it back we had more problems because they didn't tell us about other issues that the cart had. So the cart had to be towed over to their shop again. Repairs were discussed and agreed upon and when we got the cart back after several days, one of the repairs hadn't been done and something else was done that had not been agreed upon. I had CSI install a New Voltage Gauge last April 2016. As a Snow Bird I didn't use the cart untill I came back in Nov. 2016. The gauge which Stan the owner of CSI, charged me $120.00 wasn't working. I went back to CSI and was told 1st that they would fix it for free. Turns out that the Gauge was defective. Come back in 1 week, because they had to order the part. When I returned, they still hadn't the part but now tried to say that since I wiped the dash board with a damp rag to clean it. I had caused the gauge to short out. Still promised to fix for free but needed to order the part as it never came in. It's now after New Years, Jan 05 and they have moved to their new location 5 miles from the old location, which I could drive my cart to. I called to find out whats happening and was told. 1. There will be a $75.00 pick up and return charge. 2. They no longer were willing to replace for FREE. Now they wanted another $120.00 for the part and labor. I was Warned by several people in our community who had BAD Experiences with Stan and CSI, Not to use them. I wished I'd have found that out before paying Stan cash to put in a gauge. I had been driving an older golf cart for years and although it served me well, it was time for new batteries, brakes, tires and electrical maintenance, so I decided to go look for a new "used" cart before I invested the money in my old cart. I stopped by CSI and told Stan exactly what I was looking for... a bright colored cart with a cloth 2 seat bench, and in good shape; no "extras" a/c, radio ,etc. needed. He lead me over to one golf cart which was perfect and exactly what I had described! I was asked if I wanted to take it for a test drive and I was impressed the minute I turned the key. It is a bright color, has adequate power, great steering & brakes, new tires and looks brand new even though it is over 10 years old. It is "street legal" for PD. It was reasonably priced and within my budget. SOLD! The next day my new cart was delivered and my old cart "trade-in" picked up by Steve. I have called a couple times with questions which were answered promptly with a willingness to come to show me if I needed help. I can't say enough good things about the staff I met at CSI, Stan and Steve: knowledgeable, honest, helpful and friendly, a real pleasure to do business with them! And NO I'm not related! read more

Very bad work on the carts, He return the cart and did not fix the wire hanging down on tire as soon as you drive the cart you hear it rubbing. I said I think I hear that wire still I look down and there it is. He took the cart back then returned it the next day still not fixed? Each time I have to wait for two hours for him to show up. I will have to take it somewhere else to get it fixed after a $1000 bill. Don't waste your time or money with these guys. read more

CSI is a life saver! I damaged my Tomberlin LSV over a year ago. I couldn't find anyone to repair it and was devastated. I tried one company that attempted to get it running but it came back still not running. I found CSI and called them with high hopes they could pull off a miracle. It was a LONG drive down to Palm Desert from San Jose but as it turns out well worth the effort! The Owner Stan and the entire CSI team was awesome and I quickly realized I made a smart move bringing my dead LSV to them.
