I was warned against using Carvana by a few people and reviews I had read. I found a Camry online though that I really liked. I loved not having to negotiate or talk with any salespeople. I figured that I could return the car after looking at it if I didn't like it. The online process was so easy. Then Ben, who delivered the car, was great. He explained everything really well. Best of all, the Camry looked new! They had really cleaned it up well. I took it to my local mechanic and everything checked out great. It will only need brakes in a few months which is no big deal. I bought a car completely online and the car itself is great. After 2 months of driving I have no complaints...about the car. My complaints are with the customer service and poor communication at Carvana. After my experience I won't use them ever again and have no confidence in their ability to serve customers in a reasonable manner. First, my car missed two scheduled deliveries and each time I was notified the morning of the delivery date that it would not be ready. The first time was a date and time that I chose, the second date was chosen by Carvana and I took time off of work each time in order to be available to pick up my car. 3rd time was a charm...I finally picked up my car. I asked for a refund of the nearly $500 delivery fee due to having scheduled time off in order to pick the vehicle up. Which they accommodated and I thought it was a fair response to the experience. As of today I have probably called 10 times and still have not received the check almost 2 months after picking up my car! Each time I call I get a different answer as to how long it should take and each time I get a very nice employee who can only tell me that they see there is a check and have no idea how long it is actually going to take. They have not been able to transfer me to a supervisor and can only request that one call me within 48 hours (which also has not happened) The problem is obviously not the employees the problem has to be with leadership and communication within this company. I got my new ride from Carvana and I simply cannot tell enough people how freaking easy it was. I went on the sight simply doing a "what if" that transpired into OMGosh!! I went on there looking for 2 different makes/models (dream cars) set all the filters, yr, color, options, etc I went all in on the "if only". After selecting all my dream options, hit submit and nothing popped up, looked thru my "if only" list and decided 1 option was not practical so took that one off and 2 cars popped up, both makes and both colors. So then the pressure started of which one was the best. After doing my side by side comparison I made a decision. Then the next item was, will they accept my trade and will they pay it off 100% (this was the deal sinker or clincher pending the outcome. Well they paid it off and then some. I was hooked. Signed all the docs, set up my pick up date and time and it was done. Maybe 30min start to finish from my living room. No stress no high pressure sales pitch. Pick up day was my favorite. It's really unfortunate to give this low rating because the staff really try to provide good customer service but the system is terrible. We tried Carvana not once, but twice. We figured all of the problems we incurred the first time had to do with the fact that we were purchasing over the holidays. We learned the hard way, that waiting for Carvana to complete the registration was a mistake. Our county tax collector sent us a letter assessing additional penalty due to the vehicle not being registered in a timely fashion. The 2nd time, there was no excuse. Call cue times were a minimum of 1-2 hours. I was required to submit documents repeatedly. After getting confirmation of one vehicle, I awoke the next day to discover it has been sold to someone else and the staff repeatedly apologized because it was a system error on their end. I found an alternate vehicle, then incurred delivery delay. Once it finally arrived we decided to exchange it for a higher priced vehicle. Again, I resubmitted documents numerous times. The promised delivery was delayed not once but twice. We are now dealing with contract issues due to hidden fees. As much as I would like to just say take it all back, we've invested the time, down payment, and running of my credit such that we're trying to make it work. But this is not a process I would recommend. It's NOT as simple as they make it appear. read more

Okay so to start it off. Everything was easy to do step by step. Now once I got my vehicle I noticed imperfections that were not listed nor shown in pictures. It was noted and I was informed I should get an email withing 24-72hours confirming I can get my roof liner fixed. Well it's been a week and still nothing. I have called and I get told to contact this place or this place. All in which do not fix interior. Absolutely horrible experience. Car was delivered to us filthy and in need of repairs (horrible squeaking, squealing sounds -- likely in need of new breaks and a new belt). Attempted to return it the next day, but location was closed in spite of the hours posted on the front door and on the Google listing. Went back the next day to return (as instructed by customer service we spoke to on the phone the day before) and they had no idea we were coming or what we were talking about. A few days later we saw they still charged us for the downpayment for the car, and said it would take a week to send the money back to us. Would give zero stars if I could. Worst experience. Do not buy from them. There's no way that car passed a 150 point inspection, and customer service is disorganized and unhelpful. read more

I purchased a car 60+ days ago and still do not have the registration. Additionally, my credit union has not received the title or any sort of documentation needed for the loan and they are about to turn my loan into an unsecured loan at the highest interest rate they offer. At this point Carvana has offered noting but excuses about COVID delays, has said the paperwork is with a third party registration company, and has said they are waiting on the DMV. I'm not sure if Carvana sold me a vehicle that they do not have the title to, or if they are incompetent. Regardless, I have filed a complaint with my State Attorney Generals Office. If you read similar reviews and think this probably won't happen to you, just know I submitted everything they needed to process the paperwork the first week I had the vehicle. While Carvana may sound like a great deal, the experience has been noting short of a nightmare for me. read more

Carvana gave me more for my trade in than any quote I received from a dealer. We were not offered a test drive or to even inspect the vehicle before signing the paperwork. Upon getting the car from the vending machine, we noticed some scratches that were not on the description. There are also some mechanical issues and inside cosmetic issues not listed on description. I called Carvana and they are allowing us to take to shop of our choice. Just waiting on the shop to fully inspect and we shall see if Carvana stands behind their guarantee and fix the problems. read more

Look for chips in the windshield before you buy the vehicle. I had a small chip in the lower center area. I've had the car for 6 days and it has spread about 8 plus inches across. Sold my 2018 XLT to Carvana. A while back, they were not purchasing trucks and when I did enter the information, they quoted me a reasonable price, but I was upside down in it, so I decided to wait. A couple months later, they sent an email with a new quote...for OVER what I owed. Needless to say, I jumped at the deal. Very easy to use their site and uploaded all the documents (about 4). Had to meet them in Jonesboro since they only go so far outside Memphis. Thomas, the Carvana driver, showed up ON TIME and great to work with. He looked the truck over, took it around the block and we signed some papers on the tailgate. Then he handed me the check! JUST THAT SIMPLE! Beware of Carvana's standards and so called inspections. I purchased a vehicle on the 9th, called on the 10th to get it repaired because the brakes were making noise and could feel grinding, the a/c wouldnt blow cold on the drivers side, and the fan was squealing. While it was being repaired for the fan and a/c which was covered by their warranty my 7 days expired. Ford called me and told me they were not approving the brakes since they were not covered and that the front and back pads needed replacing and rotors needed turning and would cost $600. Called Carvana since I just bought it and was supposed to have gone through inspection and been cleared to drive and was told the brakes were within their standards and they would not have them repaired. If that is Carvana standards I highly doubt anything else is factory or consumer standard. read more

I was given a delivery date of Jan 4th. I booked a nursing contract cross country, paid for an airbnb, and promised my old car to a friend who doesn't have a vehicle. I called to confirm my delivery date the morning of Jan 2nd and was told everything was on schedule. I received a call later the same day informing me my car was now being delivered on the 10th. My contract starts Jan 12th in California and Im in Tennessee. There is no way I can reach my destination in time. Honestly if you want easy, this wouldn't be easier than going to get it. The process of ordering the vehicle is hell. I would warn people to not schedule it for the next day because there is a lot of paperwork that they will make due before noon and warn you at 7am. The systems they make you use usually don't work like plaid from what other carvana reps told me so it was a task trying to work and pull all of the documents they required last minute. My first vehicle stalled on the last day of the test week So I assume the 180 inspection is a bunch of bull. It stalled in the middle of the road while I was driving and the alignment was horribly off. The customer service is my biggest complaint besides the bad vehicles. When I explained the problem the first rep only set a return date and I had to pester her for other solutions. Another rep who was more helpful had to walk me through doing a replacement. The vehicle was replaced by the same vehicle but different year. This vehicle came dirty and the headlights didn't work. I had to call back and get an extension bc I couldn't drive at night at all. The warranty company did pay to fix but I had to take my own time to go to a verified shop and get it fixed. I honestly had a horrible experience every step. I would say get vehicle checkEd professionally and hassle customer service for any issue because some of their workers are very uncaring and nonchalan. read more

Im not one to ask for handouts, but as a disabled veteran, I am exempt from vehicle taxes in my state. This was made known from the start of the process but of course Carvana still included them in my financial contract. Not a big deal until I attempted to get my money reimbursed. I have made numerous phone calls to only be told to wait another month. It could take up to 3 months... Not what my local DMV said. Now if I owed this company money, they would be quick to find anyway to get it but they are not willing to be upfront and deal in good faith with their customers? Sure as hell not gonna recommend or use their services in the future. And sure as hell gonna get out from under their thumb as quickly as I can. Yea, process is quick but I'd rather have to take a few hours out of my day and know I'm not gonna have a company try to steal from me then deal with this crap again. 10/10 would not recommend this company. read more

I gotta say, I wanted to love this experience. I did love that I could buy a car with exactly the specs I wanted without dealing with a salesperson. The person I did deal with when I picked up the car at the Memphis location was fantastic. However, as soon as I got home with the car, I noticed the cover for the seat adjustment handle was loose. When I reported it online to Carvana, complete with the photos they requested, I got no response (it's been a week). Since then, the nozzle for the wiper fluid stopped working. No problem, right? There's this coverage for 100 days or something. So I go online to report it, and it tells me to go to an authorized repair place and they'll take care of it. I called Pep Boys on Park Avenue and was told "you leave your car here for 3 or 4 days while we figure out what's wrong with it and then see if Silver Springs will pay for it." Not feeling a whole lot of confidence in the process. I wish I could recommend it, but if you buy your car from them, you'd better be sure that nothing will go wrong with it after you drive off. I'm just crossing my fingers that nothing more serious crops up. read more

I had an easy experience purchasing the car online. I feel like I should have received a better interest rate because I have really good credit, but I think they give everyone the same interest rate. I did not have to put any money down and my car was ready for pick up on the date stated by the company. The gentleman that reviewed my documents was very knowledgeable and very nice. My biggest complaint was that the car was not cleaned. It was filthy on the inside. I had to take it home and clean it twice to get the dirt out of the seats, vacuum the interior, steam clean the fabric and wipe down all the surfaces. I realize that this is not a true dealership and that those services are probably not available to them. And the imperfections that you see on the pictures are just the ones they deem major I guess, because I found several others while washing the car myself. I guess you get what you pay for.
