Well we picked up our Jaguar F-Type about a week ago. We got it home and started to see a lot more damage than the 2-3 things that were listed. We ended up exchanging the vehicle out for another Jaguar F-Type and picked it up today. We get into the car, still at the lot and notice a decent size crack in the windshield and it also looks like someone spray painted the front fender (doesn't match the rest of the car at all). We picked this car specifically because it said no damage only to find out it's worse than the one before. Then, day before purchase, got email saying "all owners must be present" Called them, they pondered the same question, and then told me--all owners must be PRESENT. I found dried liquid/dirt/crumbs in the console and the inside of my windshield had a film on it that became quite obvious when it was dark, rained and the windows fogged up the day I picked it up. I attempted to sell my car through Carvana. The online process was super easy, and I have nothing bad to say about it. From beginning to input info for a quote to receiving an offer and scheduling a pick up appointment took maybe an hour. The trouble began at the pick up appointment. The Carvana rep showed up right in the middle of the appointment window, gave me a courtesy call on his way, and was very polite and friendly. I have no complaints about him or customer service. However, when he attempted to plug in the OBD scanner, it didn't work. This was particularly frustrating as my car is new, clean, and has no mechanical issues whatsoever. But apparently it's Carvana's policy to not take any cars that can't be double checked with the OBD scanner. The rep was apologetic and tried to give me options, but they were slim to none as I am leaving the area soon for an overseas military move and needed to sell the car same day. I ended up taking the car to Carmax, which was inconvenient (and an expensive Uber ride home), but they accepted it with no issues and even offered more than Carvana. When I told the sales rep there about the issue I'd had earlier he gave me a confused look and said they were able to do an OBD scan on the car with no issues. So basically, I went through a lot of stress and inconvenience just because Carvana's scanner didn't work. I would not recommend working with Carvana if you need to buy or sell a car with any sort of urgent timeline. read more

The person that picks up the car was very nice and put my 91 year old mother-in-law at ease. However, he was over an hour late and never called to let us know he was running late or what the ETA would be. The company also changed the offer amount once the document process started. So even though they say the offer is saved when you start the process, if you go back in later to double check anything and submit it, without modifying anything, your offer might change. So, that is a very dishonest process. One which I argued with several people over the course of 4 days, despite being told that my original offer would be honored. Their wait times are atrocious across the board regardless which method you choose. They need a serious internal review. Fortunately I never need to deal with them again. read more

They kept sending emails with a cryptic, "We cannot accept the document you uploaded. Please upload your vehicle's most recent title." After talking with chatbots that did nothing, we finally were given a Customer Support number to call. The woman was very difficult to understand and could not tell me anything about why they could not process the title we provided. After waiting on hold for 29 minutes, a message suddenly appeared on the phone stating that we could proceed with setting up an appointment to pick up the car and the agent told me that I could proceed. No explanation given as to the problem with the title. When we set up they appointment, the process informed us that it costs $90 for them to come pick up the car. On a $1400 offer, and all the trouble we had, No Thanks. This is the reason we selected Carvana to begin with. read more

On 6/24/2025 I received a 2018 Volkswagen Passat 2.0T Sedan that I purchased the previous week on Carvanas website. The vehicle was in the shop since 6/30. The odometer didn't even say the correct mileage when the car was delivered. On 6/25 I called Carvana to report that there is a knocking noise in the front of the car and I'd like to get it looked at. Carvana advised me to take it to the dealer. On Thursday I went to the VW mechanic in Watertown, MA. They advised me that they did not have a loaner and if I bring it in the following day (Friday) they would probably have it all weekend, so they advised I bring it in first thing Monday morning. At this time the car would officially be out of the on the 7th day, no questions asked return policy. However, I knew there was an issue on day 2. That means this car did not pass the guaranteed 150 point inspection. When I called carvana they instructed me to call silver rock to arrange the repairs. Once the car was at the dealer they were informed of a brake issue. Upon hearing this they told me I would be responsible for the brake pads. I immediately reached out to carvana to discuss this stating this is how they gave the car to me and it's absurd that I would be expected to cover anything. The next week when I went to pick up the car I was informed that although they had completed the brakes they were waiting on silver rock to confirm whether or not they would be approving removal of the transmission because there was an issue with the axle and transmission and they couldn't figure it out until they remove the transmission. I decided at that point that since they put my safety at risk with bad brakes and a transmission issue it would be in my best interests to return the car. I've been paying for insurance on the car because at some point I'd have to pick it up for the return and legally myself and the mechanic wouldn't be able to drive/park it without insurance. But I have not driven the car since day 6. $270 for insurance and the second payment has been made because they haven't picked up the car. Multiple returns were scheduled. The first 2 times were cancelled because silver rock had not paid the mechanic therefore if I were to pick it up I would have been responsible for the costs. Then they scheduled 2 subsequent returns without contacting me. The money and inconvenience have taken a toll on me and my wallet. I am unable to even think about purchasing another car until I get the financial aspect of this disaster resolved because they have not dissolved the loan and they say they can't until the car is in their possession. 6/22 I retrieve the vehicle from Boston Volkswagen, however I was charged $234. I immediately get on the phone with carvana and they conference in silver rock. No one seems to know why I paid. Now I have to print and submit a reimbursement form. They will review within 5 days, then they will issue a checks within 10-14 days so those are more funds tied up. Carvana scheduled a pick-up without my knowledge. When carvana arrived to pick up the vehicle they asked me to sign paperwork stating that I've received a refund (I haven't), that I would waive damages, shipping fee, taxes and registration. I only drove the car for 6 days, and when I spoke to Joey initially he said that I would be getting a full refund. After putting my safety at risk, taking time off of work, as well as the financial stream and stress they refused to take the car back. DO NOT RECOMMEND Carvana! read more

Beware of Deceptive Vehicle Listings - Very Unhappy with Carvana I recently purchased a vehicle from Carvana, and I am extremely disappointed. The online inspection did not mention the numerous scratches and chips on the car. The vehicle has large scratches and even damage on the rear passenger window--none of which were disclosed. Additionally, the windows and window trim have stains that will not come off, no matter what I try. This was also not mentioned in their so-called "150-point inspection." To make matters worse, when I arrived to pick up the car after driving over 500 miles, it was not even clean. Because of this, I didn't notice many of these issues right away. After washing it the next day, I realized the stains were permanent. Carvana claims to offer a return policy, but returning the vehicle would have cost me over $600 due to mileage, making it an unreasonable option after my long trip. I feel deceived and misled. They were not upfront about the vehicle's actual condition, and their inspection reports are unreliable. Potential buyers beware--Carvana is not as transparent as they claim to be. Carvana quickly resolved the issue by towing the car at no cost and installing a brand-new battery the next day, also free of charge. When trading in my car I asked to have my current handicap plates and registration transferred to my new vehicle. Can someone please tell me why I just received a NEW registration and NEW plates in the mail. I confirmed the transfer via online chat (attached), confirmed in person when getting the new car and even was told to keep my plates so I'd have them when the new registration came in. I really don't understand where the disconnect is and why I have faced so many issues with Carvana. Now I have to take time out of work to go wait at our local MVA to try and resolve this issue. For those who face issues: please note there is currently a class action lawsuit against Carvana for registration issues. However, I wasn't certain the online questionnaire was detailed enough to capture my car's cosmetic condition so I followed up with an in-person visit to confirm the quote. There was nobody inside the lobby of this Carvana Gaithersburg location except one big guy standing in the back with arms crossed, eyeing me come in. He didn't smile or address me when I entered so I wasn't sure if he was a guard, a salesperson, an annoyed customer, or something else. When I explained my situation and asked him if he could confirm the online Carvana quote, he took a glance (from about 100ft away) and said it should be fine as long as I selected "satisfactory" condition in the questionnaire, which I did. When I suggested that he take a closer look to confirm, he insisted (not rudely but curtly) that wasn't necessary. One week later ready to sell my car, I come back and the lobby was again empty except for a different salesperson who approached and greeted me. He walked around the car, took my car to the back for diagnostics, went to the back room, and let me know 20 minutes later that they couldn't accept my car due to the cosmetic condition. To be clear, they weren't offering a lower price but rather saying they couldn't buy the car at all. I was confused why they couldn't have determined that in the first minute walking around the car or, even better, on my first visit when they "confirmed" the quote. I already had 2 other competitive offers and quickly sold my car at the CarMax down the street, but Carvana Gaithersburg was a big waste of time. They may be straightforward for a typical vehicle sale, but given this location's questionable customer service, I won't consider them next time. read more

11/5/22 Last weekend on 10/29/22, I saw this establishment up close and personal. I had seen this building many times from the highway, but never up close until now. Today I wanted to see the Carvana building and possibly see cars get moved around from the vichele tower. Alas, it was not meant to be. The tower was shutdown for repairs. This location for Carvana is for dropoff and pickup only. 90 percent of want is needed done is done on Carvana.com. The woman I met inside was very pleasant to be around, but it also looked like she had her hands full. I saw people waiting for possibly their cars or something else. The area looked deserted if not for the people stand around or sitting inside. Still, it was nice to talk to a representative of Carvana, because up till now, I have only seen some vicheles getting delivered to other customers. Cool. I don't need a new car just now, but I will say it is an experience seeing the tower's inner workings. Should there be a next time, I hope to see the gears working. read more

I recently bought a Tesla model y through them. They mess the paperwork up and the car shows up a day late. When the car finally arrives it's covered in salt. I couldn't even see the condition of the car. How can you accept a car not knowing what damage it may have? Carvana installed the license plates with their universal bracket and screwed right into the front bumper using 4 different screws. The plate was clearly crooked and offset to one side. I put in a warranty request and they denied it so now I have to fix the bumper. The oem Tesla mount is screwless because there's sensors behind the front bumper. The rear plate has a plastic mount so the plate doesn't scratch the trunk, they opted not to use that and cross thread screws into the trunk. The car came with way more damage than noted online. Overall not a happy customer. read more

Just purchased 8 days ago. The entire process was 'meh' and here's why. First, the overwhelming constant reminders about a deadline approaching for the paperwork they were waiting for was extreme.. Next, dealing with external financing outside of Carvana seemed to be a bit challenging. Carvana requires certain paperwork and only accepts payment via a check (which you have to provide a copy of and a tracking number). I'm so surprised they won't accept a wire transfer! This was really frustrating when dealing with my bank which is only online. When picking up the vehicle at the Carvana Baltimore location, they weren't ready for us at our appointment time. We waited a while and the guy helping us was also helping others so we didn't get much attention. Lastly...The car was FILTHY! The windows were so dirty you couldn't see through them well. Inside had residue from smoking too. Seatbelts were just YUK and there was lots of food residue in the console. Also, there were a whole lot more dings and scratches on the car outside of what they showed in the pictures. I sent notes to the chat option and it has to be a BOT because the responses were challenging. No actual "Carvana Advocate" followed-up when they said they would. Overall...would I do this again? Not likely. Should I have returned it...YES but I wouldn't have gotten the $1k shipping charge back (non-refundable). Probably a better option to sell your car than to buy one. read more
