    Cookie Puss. Fudgie The Whale.

My sweet tooth got the best of me today and I really needed an ice cream treat. I've passed by Carvel on Church Ave. countless times in the past. Today I made my way inside. This Carvel is small but filled with variety. Ice cream cones, cakes, shakes and cookies are offered in several flavors. A wave of nostalgia washed over me when I saw Cookie Puss and Fudgie The Whale ice cream cakes in the freezer. Those two guys and Carvel itself are a big part of my childhood memories. I kept it super basic, with a small order of chocolate soft serve. It was tasty and sweet and just enough to cure my craving. The two servers were very kind. With their paper hats, they reminded me of ice cream servers in ice cream parlor scenes, in 80s teen movies. I work in this area sometimes. I'll definitely be going to this Carvel for more frozen treats at break time.

Since the ice cream is/should be the same in all locations the 3 is a review of the store. The store is a little shabby looking and there are no seats to stay and enjoy your ice cream. We had to sit in the little ledge there so that our ice cream wouldn't melt so quickly if we ate it outside (which would have been standing as there isn't a bench or anything outside either) Just a pick up and go store. Also, this store was more pricey than the Church Ave Location. The soft serve is nice and I would rate it a 4.

I love carvel there used to be carvel at Nostrand Avenue and Church Avenue back in the nineties that one closed down, but this location is located in the Kensington section of Brooklyn .there ice cream is great, I love coming here to this location I'll definitely mind coming back in heartbeat. Staff members are cool too! (their delivery here as well I'm not sure if it's from Grubhub, uber eats, door dash, postmates, etc )- call in double check P.S. something about Carvel ice cream that does it, no offense Baskin Robbins .....Lol !!!! ( all dough I could go to the shop and stop supermarket and get a carvel ice cream cake box I prefer to come here, instead ). Very convenient by the MTA transportation: Subway: F, G-Trains. Church avenue. Train station. Bus: B35 ,B67,B103

Cousin & I went to polish off our dinner with some ice cream. Best sundaes we ever had. The amount of fudge was nothing I'd ever seen. The lady who made it put my peanuts on first, then the hot fudge. At first I was confused but it made sense. Instead of the little suckers escaping and falling off, they were mounted underneath the mountain of fudge, guaranteed to be eaten with no escapees.

My favorite time of the year is December because it's my birthday month, which means I get to redeem a whole bunch of freebies. If you sign up for Carvel's emails, they give you a free soft serve cone coupon during the month of your birthday. Be aware that you can only open the email twice, so make sure to open it when you're near a printer. The Carvel I went to had 4 flavors of soft serve: vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and apple pie. The worker there was extremely accommodating when I asked for a swirl of both vanilla and apple pie. While the vanilla flavor wasn't bad, I personally thought McDonalds soft serve tasted better. Regarding the apple pie flavor, it was not for me. It tasted like an artificial fragrant cinnamon milk. My favorite part about the soft serve was the texture. There are some places that serve soft serve with a slightly gritty texture, but Carvel does not do that. It was completely smooth. I would probably never go out of my way to purchase a Carvel soft serve cone, but since it's free beggars really can't be choosers.

Upon submitting the online order, I received a text confirming the order. I was able to confirm the price. They were going to charge me an extra $12 for the outline of Crayon Shin-Chan's face that I requested. They said it wasn't a simple drawing, which I didn't realize, so I swiftly changed it to just mini cone designs. The mini cone design was a good call because they added different flavored ice creams that I didn't choose for the cake to the cones. One of the ice cream cone flavors was orange or something, which I don't think I saw as an option on the ordering form, making it even better and allowing us to try even more flavors! It was $65.33 (incl tax) for 3 flavors for the second biggest size cake (I think it was for 10-12 ppl). The three flavors I got for the cake were: Cookies and cream - 3.5/5 My least favorite flavor here even though I generally really enjoy cookies and cream. Not enough cookies and the texture of the cookies is not soft enough. Don't think it will taste like your favorite pint of cookies and cream. If I were to try to describe it, I'd say it'd taste like a healthy cookies and cream? Taro - 4.5/5 My favorite flavor because the taro came through but in a nice, subtle way. This was also the least sweet of the three flavors. Black sesame - 4/5 Undeniably black sesame. The taste was very strong and the black sesame seeds gave it some texture. A tad bit too sweet but overall ok. I've gotten ice cream cakes from here in the past, and I thought I wrote them a review already, but I guess not.

Both flavors were good, not overly sweet. The two cones on the cake were flavors that we couldn't choose and it was strawberry and matcha. Personally for me, the matcha was a bit too bitter. When I do this; I usually find " buried restaurant treasure". On a recent visit to Prospect Park, I decided to try a different place and got off the B16 at Caton and Coney Island Avenue. The place: Lark Cafe. I was in a mood to cheat and have a toasted wheat bagel with scallion cream cheese and a Chai. I got almost everything, except, wheat was sold out and chose sesame bagel. As I waited, I wanted to check out the adjoining ice cream shop that sells Jane's ice cream, made in the heart of the Hudson Valley. I will return for a future cheat. Jane's is known for popular flavors as Killer Chocolate, Blue Zoo, Unicorn Cake. My order was ready and one bite of the bagel: heaven! The bagel was toasted to perfection and the scallion cc was delicious. And what a generous schmear! The Chai was light and frothy. As I devoured, patrons around me were typing on their computers enjoying Stumptown coffee and iced tea. LC offers a variety of tasty options: whitefish on a bagel, smoked salmon, cheddar chive biscuits, tea bread, croissants, doughnuts.. The ambience is relaxed and there is a book nook if you need a good read. Lark also hosts private events and for families there are sing along and story times. The service is kind and my bagel was absolutely made with TLC. I left Lark happy and walked straight to Prospect Park. Off the beaten path is always full of nice surprises! The jewish customers that stay here LOVE LOVE LOVE to stare anyone of colour down, i am brown, could you imagine how hard they would stare at anyone black? There was a radius around me that no jewish person in the building would even dare to approach even if it was life threatening. The stares you get is constant and never ever will you have an experience from them that isn't different. They are literally bordering a brown community and they still act like this. I ordered the nachos. The chips were nice and crispy. I requested cheese. It was very liquidy, cool, and had a thick skin covering the top. I also ordered some salsa for an additional $2. This was even colder and had a sweetness to it. Both of these were not the greatest nacho dipping sauces but this is an ice cream house after all. I would still go back to try some of their ice cream or smoothies. This is a great place for dates, kids, or families.
