    mango bingsoo

Most of the stuff was average like the crepe cake and drinks, but the bingsoo's are amazing. Serving speed is a little slow but nice little hang out area. Overall a nice little place but avoid the crepe cakes because they are dry and overpriced.

A cute little place in Stamford, Connecticut that serves the most delicious desserts. We ordered chocolate cream cake, vanilla cream cake and an almond cake with coffee. What I really liked about these cakes is that they are not too sweet and sugary. These cakes tasted so good with the coffee and the cappuccino that we ordered. It wasn't very crowded when we got there. We enjoyed our desserts. I will give it 5/5 for the food, service and the lovely ambiance!!

The place is a feast for the eyes and sense. Beautiful colourful deserts in a minimalist, smooth, sleek, while, clean space with fun space to sit and eat in. The service staff are kind, nice, friendly, with good quality service. First, the drinks are delicious! I love the bubble tea - whichever you get it will taste yummy and packed with flavor. The mango juice is so refreshing. The waffle was addicting! Every fluffy bite was happiness and relaxation with chocolate and fruits. I'd love to come back again, but not too often -- because the prices are very expensive, even for Bedford Street downtown Stamford. The place is open at late hours too while others around it close or wind down, so I appreciate that too.

I enjoy their fruit tea and the classic crepe cake. Otherwise I also liked the strawberry cream cake. I would say the past two times I wanted to visit the shop was closed even though the hours online said otherwise. So if they can update their online hours that would be great.

Really enjoyed my first visit to Shiro! I got the classic crepe cake and it was DELICIOUS. The cake itself was very flavorful and light but satisfying. I also loved the light brown sugar sauce and fresh, perfectly ripe fruit the cake was topped with. The decor was really cute too, it was a nice place to sit and eat. Next time I come back I'm looking forward to trying the bubble tea!

10/10 service and 10/10 for the waffles! Great dessert for a cold rainy day. The people there were very friendly.

Great spot to treat your sweet tooth and conveniently right in Downtown! I've gone a few times now and highly recommend it. The bubble waffle and toast were incredible. Such a unique spot and always friendly service!

We came on a cloudy Saturday afternoon after lunch in the area and were hoping for a nice spot to just sit and catch up. I got a Yuzu tea while my friends got a matcha latte and we got a strawberry cream tart to share. The Yuzu was fragrant and the tart was nice and light, exactly what you'd expect from an Asian dessert -- "not too sweet". When we were done, we happily perused all of the goods in the store. They had so many different Japanese offerings, it was so nice to see -- ceramics, teas, snacks, cooked food, etc. There was SO much, and on top of that, they seemed to have almost all of the Harney & Son's offerings, including the special edition teas like the Death of the Nile and Murder on The Orient Express. I was super impressed by this little shop and can't wait to visit Stamford again to explore more of the goodies.

The Japanese ladies who work there--handling product quality, food preparation, and…read moremanagement--work very hard and always welcome me with a smile. The spirit of "ichi-go ichi-e" (treasuring each moment as unique) embodies the beauty of "wa" (harmony) rooted in Japanese Zen philosophy. However, now that the store has become a massive chain, the employees (local part-time or temporary workers) can't even say hello or offer a simple "thank you." They just toss food and items into paper bags. In the worst cases, even when they have a free hand, they won't even bother to put items into the bag for you (much like the self-service at many local supermarkets). They don't ask if you'd like chopsticks, and they remain so unfriendly that customers have to pack everything into the bag themselves--they do nothing until you specifically ask for chopsticks. Can this really be called a Japanese restaurant? Given my position, I'm quite particular about discipline and manners, but I rarely reprimand people I don't know. However, since the situation was so bad, I did speak up--but they must have held a grudge, because their attitude has been even worse ever since. I want to eat delicious food, but I believe the true beauty of Japanese cuisine is only realized when you not only taste the food itself but also appreciate the elegance of the tableware, the pleasant atmosphere of the venue, and the "spirit of hospitality.『Omotenashi no Kokoro」 It's truly disappointing.

I was very impressed…read moreby the extended menu that included tons and tons of different food, including bubble tea. At first I was gonna place an order over the phone but decided to just do it in person. Once I arrived, the place unfortunately was closed, the sign said they would be back but nobody was there and the door was locked with a little sign that said to call that number. At that point I guess I could of just left but I was so hungry, I was really craving pho so I called the number and the nice lady said she was out on a delivery but she was on her way back and allowed me to place my order over the phone w her. In the meantime to kill time, went to a nearby target. Once she arrived and my food was ready, she gave me a call and I went to pick it up. The lady was apologetic about the wait, very nice woman, handed me my food to go and I left.I did get to check the place out, small establishment, but cozy and very hip and cool, would have been nice to eat there and hang out. I got 5 orders of their pho and a mango bubble tea. At that point I had waited a good 40mins if not more so I was starving and tired, the mango bubble tea was EVERYTHING, it was creamy, fruity, just right, and that made me more excited to get home and eat my food! Now, I'm used to adding the leaves and other things to my pho myself , so I thought certain condiments would come separate but turns out it was already all prepared in the plastic container which no big deal. The taste was good, very very tasty... however, very different than your regular Vietnamese pho. Now I don't know if it was because it wasn't necessarily a Vietnamese place (based on their food menu with mostly Korean stuff) that the pho was different, different meat and diff condiments so alright it was a tasty broth with noodles, it's not your typical pho so I have to be honest, i was disappointed. I spent quite some money there so I feel like a combination of wait time, inconvenience and disappointment in the pho, turned me off a bit. I feel like, as a customer, I was very accommodating and still gave them my business so that could of been an opportunity for them to use their customer service as a secret weapon to get me to come back?... Overall, I don't think I'll be driving out of my way to go eat there but if I'm in the nearby area, I'll deff be stopping for a nice bubble tea drink!

For anyone wondering about the name, it's pronounced "Me-uh Chah" (not "Mek-ah") and translates to "Mother and Father"--which feels fitting given how much more "soul" the food has lately. A few years back, I felt like they were missing the mark on the essentials, specifically the phở broth and the nước nắm. If you know Vietnamese food, you know those are the dealbreakers. The great news is they've clearly dialed in the recipes. I've been coming back regularly now because the flavors are finally hitting those traditional notes that are so hard to find in this part of Connecticut. My typical order: * Phở Gà (Chicken) * Phở Tái (Rare beef) * Phở Bò Viên (Beef meatballs) * Chả Giò (Fried spring rolls) -- Absolute must-order. They do have a lot of non-traditional stuff like Bao, Handrolls, and a solid Spicy Miso Ramen, and while those are actually very good, I usually stick to the Vietnamese classics since they're doing them so well now. The atmosphere is also worth mentioning. It has a really cool, organic vibe with tons of wood accents. The ceiling is covered in hundreds of 2x4s that hang down like a weeping willow canopy--it's unique and looks great in person. Pro-Tips: * Parking: Don't even bother trying to find a spot on Bedford Street; it's a nightmare. Park in the lot around the back and just use the pedestrian passage to walk through the building. * The App: If you're doing takeout, use their mobile app. It's a lifesaver on the weekends when the dining room gets slammed. So glad to have a reliable phở spot in downtown Stamford again!

I actually went during restaurant week, but since I ordered it to go, I didn't get to take advantage of any of the promo pricing. the ambiance is always nice at Mecha, no matter the location. Even just popping in, you can feel that trendy, laid back vibe they're known for. This was my first time trying bone marrow with my. pho, and I'll admit I thought it came mixed into the broth. Instead, you have to scoop it out of the bone yourself, it reassures you that it's fresh, but I think I might've ordered it wrong. I'd probably go with marrow oil next time for a smoother experience. The pho itself felt clean and comforting, definitely one of those meals you can enjoy a little guilt free, especially if you're feeling under the weather. Overall, it's a good option, just a bit pricey for what it is. I'd be open to coming back, especially to dine in next time during a restaurant week if I have the time.

The restaurant itself is always clean and well-maintained--they've got a nice, modern decor with dark wood and soft lighting that gives off a great evening vibe if you're dining in. That said, we usually pick up our orders ourselves these days. During the pandemic, we used to rely on Uber Eats, but we got hit with too many random surcharges and delivery fees that inflated the bill by nearly 35%. Since we're less than a mile away, it just didn't make sense anymore. Plus, the kitchen is fast; food preparation usually only takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Parking Pro-Tip: If you're picking up, parking right on Bedford Street is tricky and almost always crowded with delivery vehicles. Do yourself a favor: park in the Bedford Street public lot behind the CVS on Forest Street. There's a super convenient pedestrian passageway that cuts right through and pops you out directly onto Bedford next to Tigin Irish Pub. It saves a ton of frustration. The Food: While they have a Japanese menu, the only thing we've actually tried from it is the house salad (which is always fresh). We tend to stick to what we know is great, which is their Chinese menu. Our standard rotation never misses: * Pork Egg Rolls and a quart of Wonton Soup (great starters). * Chicken Lo Mein and Chicken with Broccoli (classic, solid execution). * Spicy Basil Chicken (has a nice kick to it). * Pan-fried Noodles with Seafood Special (definitely a favorite). Ordering Tip: If you want pork fried rice, don't buy a standalone order. Instead, upgrade the white or brown rice that already comes with your entree. You'll save yourself a couple of dollars that way. Solid food, quick turnaround, and consistent quality. Definitely recommend if you're in the neighborhood.
