I have three major issues with this hotel: not friendly, doesn't honor billing methods advertised,…read moreand not clean. 1: The staff in the main office have no idea that they are working in the hospitality industry. They are rude, unfriendly, skip phrases like welcome and thank you. I was not asked if I liked my stay, and it was clear that charging my credit card was the highest priority... I have no problems paying my bills and they just seemed to make this a confrontational issue for no reason!!! 2: I made my reservation though Priceline.com using my American Express card. The hotel staff called my "work number" instead of my cell number to inform me that they were going to refuse to charge my American Express card after my reservation was confirmed on Priceline.com. Luckily I called the hotel to verify my reservation and the hotel staff then demanded another card from me with no apology stating they they "do not accept American Express". Obviously this hotel is not in compliance with Priceline policy and is violating their agreement. I will take this up with Priceline as well! 3: if you like killing flies in your room in the middle of winter you will love your room! Because I killed three flies in my room and was amazed to see them with snow on the ground outside! This hotel will advertise old charm but I would say its better said that this hotel is old and falling apart. In summary If you don't expect hotel staff to smile or respect you, honor your reservation made through 3rd parties, or the billing methods that they are elected to accept then is is the hotel for you! E bugs in your room are just a bonus!!!

Whether you're coming off a long day at Hunter Mountain or just passing through Windham, this spot perfectly balances a rustic, family-friendly atmosphere with a menu that doesn't cut corners. The Butcher Steaks: This isn't just a "chicken joint." They take their beef seriously, offering fresh-cut, flame-grilled steaks like the 24oz Ribeye and NY Strip. They even age their own steaks in-house when available, resulting in a tender, seasoned-to-perfection cut that rivals high-end steakhouses but at much friendlier "mountain prices." The Signature Fried Chicken: This is the restaurant's namesake for a reason. The chicken is consistently hot, crispy, and juicy. Pro tip: Get the combo that comes with their special honey sauce and "cornbread cake." Dipping the savory, salty skin into that honey is a game-changer. BBQ Ribs: If you're looking for "fall-off-the-bone," you found it. Their ribs are slow-cooked and slathered in a rich, tangy sauce that requires a stack of napkins and zero regrets. Save room--or just admit you're having a second dinner--for the homemade desserts. Their dessert bar and soft-serve ice cream are staples, but the real magic happens in the summer (or around the outdoor firepits) with their S'mores kits. It's the perfect way to cap off a mountain day. With a massive backyard featuring a firepit, live music on the weekends, and a "come as you are" dress code, it's easily the best spot for big groups. The service is fast, the portions are massive, and the "old-school country" energy makes you feel like a local the moment you walk in.

I had the ribs once and they weren't great either. I really want to see how they cook steak so I will probalby get it next time. I like Hazy IPAs, I wish they would get Westkill or something similar and replace Fiddlehead. Fiddlehead is old school NEIPA. The prices are very good and I the atmosphere is family oriented and very friendly IMO. Whenever I'm in Windham this is where I go. I like the bar a lot if you want to just hang out and enjoy the scene. The outdoor area is really nice too when its not winter. It is definetly the best value in Windham.

The fam were in the area for a weekend and we'd already had some bad whiffs (both our hotel and the…read morerestaurant we went to for dinner were stinkers). We were all praying a dessert 'nightcap' could salvage this trip far from home. No pressure, Jolly Cow, no pressure. This was obviously 'the place to be' - countless people coming and going. All sorts of "hang out" areas (under a tent, in the grass on benches, you name it) - so we were feeling good that we picked a winner. We waited in line for a spell and when we went to start our order we encountered our first remora... cash only. (People still carry cash, huh?) Crisis averted (yeah, my kids had cash on them!) - back in line to try this again. Family of four all getting some serious treats and all for under $20? Sweet! (Dad puns unavoidable, sorry.) "Small" cone was the size of a Smurf (aka - 3 apples) which is crazy (good). I went with their 'Razzle' which is a step-sibling to DQ's Blizzard (I think the last time I had Reese's Pieces ET was still trying to phone home) and... pretty darn incredible. (Although it too was just TOO much of a good thing and I wish it was even smaller than their small.) You saved our weekend, Jolly Cow. And that's the "utter" truth. (I warned y'all that the dad puns weren't going to stop.)
