Blueberry cobbler, coconut traditional macaroons and the special lime macaroons which make me drool.

I wish the sign outside was bigger, because it's a Hidden gem. A real French pastry chef was a pleasant surprise. He encouraged us to try his creation of macaroons and honestly they made the macaroons u buy elsewhere taste like garbage. We ended up here after babblers was empty And looked closed at 1 pm sunday. I am so glad I found this place!

You open the doors and immediately are hit with the smell of baked good. The man behind the counter was welcoming and helped us pick out our baked goods - we tried one of each - after bringing them home, we were not disappointed, still warm, delicious, flaky. We'll be back tomorrow for more... if you're in the area this little gem is worth the stop!! 100/10 and he accepts Venmo! How great

This place is literally amazing! Got a Christmas cake and it was beautiful! The owner is great just get him talking and I just go with what ever he recommends.

Chocolate blueberry coffee cake. Best pastry we ever had. Got fresh from the oven.

This place a real gem! Everything is freshly made from scratch and tastes amazing!!! We got chocolate blueberry coffee cake fresh out of the oven and it was the best pastry we ever had. We also got Sara Bernard pastry which is gluten free and made with macaroon filled with chocolate ganache and dipped in dark chocolate. Heaven!!! This chef is really talented, knows his craft and takes pride in his creations.

The store is hidden behind Michael's Diner on Rt23. Most delicious bakery in town. I would love to go back to Windham just for the Sarah Bernhardt and crunchy fried croissant. By the way, the chef is from France :-) One thing I wish someone had warned me before: the shop closes before 5pm everyday.

Everything is always delicious here. Fried croissants and regular ones are a staple at this French bakery. Baguettes are also a wonderful addition for your dinner. Cakes are unbelievably tasty with beautiful details. Cash only-come prepared!

It wasn't too busy when we arrived in middle of the afternoon, and we were warmly greeted. You place your order at the counter and then seat yourself. Water and cups are out too. I went with the Pad Thai ($27 with chicken) and also got to try some of the fried chicken ($17), a special. Prices seemed a little high but the dishes were delicious, with portions being reasonable and the Pad Thai not being overwhelmingly sweet. The fried chicken was magically crunchy outside and moist inside, with an irresistible dipping sauce not too cilantro-y. The Windham Local has a parking lot off to the side, but there was ample street parking too. And a shop proprietor later told us that The Windham Local is her place to eat in town!

Coffees were delicious and strong and the breakfast burrito was truly the best breakfast burrito I think I've ever had. The space is so cute. I read on their website while planning the weekend that they are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and have live music on the weekends. It looks like they do it all. We stopped in early and had our choice of tables. The space is big, clean and perfectly calm. Great spot for a slow breakfast. After ordering at the counter, they brought everything over to our table. I got the oatmeal bowl. Delicious and simple. However, I couldn't help but steal many many bites of the breakfast burrito. Seriously, get it! A great spot with good food, a friendly team and a cozy vibe.

This is a tough review because I genuinely wanted to give this place a 5/5…read more I worked with the team to cater brunch for my fiancé's birthday and the planning process was fantastic. Communication was seamless, they helped create a custom birthday cake with flavors I requested, and the entire ordering experience was smooth and stress-free. The food was outstanding. From the bread and cinnamon rolls to the focaccia and cake, everything was fresh, delicious, and a huge hit with our group. Every item felt thoughtfully made, and it was clear why so many people rave about their bakery. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the pickup experience. I had a prepaid order of over $250 scheduled for 8:00 a.m. pickup, right when the café opened. We arrived about 15 minutes early.. because it was raining and simply hoped to wait somewhere covered until pickup time. We weren't expecting the order early or asking anyone to rush. Given the size of the order, the custom cake, and the fact that I had brought someone with me to help carry everything, we just wanted to avoid standing outside in the rain. When I knocked on the door, I could see several staff members inside. One employee looked at us and gestured toward the clock, essentially pointing out that they weren't open yet. I completely understand that we arrived early, and I respect opening hours. What bothered me was how the situation was handled. A simple "We'll be open at 8" or "Sorry, we can't let anyone in until opening" would have been perfectly reasonable. Instead, the interaction felt unnecessarily cold. Even once we were inside, the employee helping us came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. It was especially disappointing because every interaction I'd had over email leading up to the event had been so thoughtful, friendly, and accommodating. The food was exceptional, and the planning process was excellent. I just wish the same level of hospitality had carried through to the pickup experience. Had that interaction been handled with a bit more warmth, this would have easily been a 5-star review. Ratings: * Food & ambiance: 10/10 * Communication email: 10/10 * Pickup Experience: 4/10

They are rude, unfriendly, skip phrases like welcome and thank you. I was not asked if I liked my stay, and it was clear that charging my credit card was the highest priority... I have no problems paying my bills and they just seemed to make this a confrontational issue for no reason!!! 2: I made my reservation though Priceline.com using my American Express card. The hotel staff called my "work number" instead of my cell number to inform me that they were going to refuse to charge my American Express card after my reservation was confirmed on Priceline.com. Luckily I called the hotel to verify my reservation and the hotel staff then demanded another card from me with no apology stating they they "do not accept American Express". Obviously this hotel is not in compliance with Priceline policy and is violating their agreement. I will take this up with Priceline as well! 3: if you like killing flies in your room in the middle of winter you will love your room! Because I killed three flies in my room and was amazed to see them with snow on the ground outside! This hotel will advertise old charm but I would say its better said that this hotel is old and falling apart. Their menu is extensive and impressive; they have some all-star dishes on their permanent menu as well as a rotating daily menu with a legendary lineup of seasonal items. I really appreciate that they have dishes that are hard to come by such as lentil loaf and lasagna, and these never disappoint. The lentil loaf is unique; it is a little brick of lentils (not your traditional sliceable mush of breadcrumbs and minced veggies). It's very well seasoned and the tomato sauce on top is not overly sweet. The mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy and (very) garlicky greens make it a great meal. The lasagna is one of my favorite dishes. It's pasta-free and just made from layers of sliced zucchini and other veggies sandwiched with their delicious crumbly housemade cashew cheese. The herby tomato sauce is super flavorful. The side salad and garlic bread that accompany it are great also; an ultra comforting meal. We enjoyed the macro meal, although honestly not as much as the other dishes. The pan-seared tofu was delicious, but the arame seaweed salad was super seaweedy and salty - a bit much for me. I'm also not sure why they didn't serve it in a bowl, which would have made the rice etc. easier to eat. It seemed to be missing something - perhaps avocado, or a hunk of sweet potato. A few items at the Garden Cafe are a little perplexing, compared to how perfect most of their food is. The tempeh is just ok. It's heavily marinated in a sweet and salty sauce and kind of strange. Also disappointing that it's just a big brand tempeh rather than one of the local tempeh brands available in the area. The housemade focaccia is also bizarre. The texture made me think it was gluten-free (but it's not). Is it whole wheat?? If that's the case, awesome, but they should mention that on the menu, so you aren't taken aback when you don't get pillowy airy bread and instead get something flat and gray that could be mistaken for a biscotti. We LOVE the Garden Cafe and wish more places like this existed serving organic classic meals. We wish they would open a location in New York City, but until then, we will be making the drive!
