AMAZING operation run by one man, the inimitable Antoine. I would fight someone for one of his pastries. The selection rotates from day to day, but he will make custom orders (like wedding cakes) if you request in advance. This shop is what you would expect in France: no frills, traditional wood & glass cabinets, no unnecessary frosting or decorations on the pastries--just deliciousness. Stop in whenever you can. The only thing to note is that Antoine only accepts cash and Venmo, no credit cards, so be prepared to pay and pay well for his hard work. read more

This is our absolute favorite bakery anywhere. Antoine's croissants are absolutely to die for. While I've never been to France, I did have the a croissant from the #1 bakery in Brussels where a lot of bakers get started, and his are better! We've tried almost everything he makes - the brioche is amazing and fantastic with cheese, the cakes are sublime, and the shortbread cookies are perfect with coffee and tea. What I like most about his sweets are that they aren't overly sugared and over sweetened like most pastries you get in the US. Always a nice treat! read more

Most are woefully disappointing; canned pie filling, cheap ingredients, frozen dough. I read the reviews about this bakery before I trekked over. People said it was good. Authentic. "Best bakery in town"..... No. No that's simply not enough. It's in the middle of nowhere (sorry Windham, New York, that's how it feels). A sweet little mountain town. In classic Upstate style there should only be a Dunkin' Donuts, a Stewart's, and a Dollar Store. But, like out of a dam Nicholas Sparks book, this place pops up. As I approached the door I held back excitement. The Capital Region has let me down before. Why would it stop now? Instantly upon entering you know you will be breaking your keto diet HARD, and loving it. This is the real deal. A TRUE French patisserie. A lovely, dashing, Frenchman dusted in flour stands in front of his oven. Am I in an alternate universe? You are instantly surrounded by warmth and the smell of bread and sugar. You instantly want every damn thing. So, you do that! Pie, croissants, cake, cannoli. I did stop at entire cakes, though, because I was not raised by wolves. The deep fried croissant. The store is hidden behind Michael's Diner on Rt23. Most delicious bakery in town. I would love to go back to Windham just for the Sarah Bernhardt and crunchy fried croissant. Super cute bakery. Lots of variety in pastry choice - from cookies to puff pastry with jam to pies and cakes and eclairs and tarts - the list goes on! The baker we met was amazingly friendly and over accommodating in explaining all the pastries to us and staying open a few minutes late so we could decide on our order. If I could give 0 stars I would. I don't understand the great wedding cake reviews. My husband and I had our wedding at windham mountain on July 13th. We went for a cake tasting in February and were given four flavors to try with lemon curd being one of them and vanilla being another. We picked a lemon curd and vanilla filling. We also sent a picture of the cake we loved to Antoine as well as shared in person during our cake tasting. He told me that the cake will look EXACTLY like the picture. Fast forward to the reception, When I saw the cake it looked Nothing like the picture I sent. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at how bad it looked. Second, During the cake cutting, to my surprise, I bit into a cake with only lemon cream filling, no curd. I confronted Antoine the next day calmly. He was annoyed that I had a problem with the cake and Told me it was difficult to see in the pic that the gold foil was foil and not sprinkles which is laughable. Not only because it's clearly gold foil but because no part of what he made looked like the cake in the photo i sent. Also, he told me it was lemon curd not cream which is just insane. Please do yourself a favor and take a look at my pictures below and see for yourself how terribly off these cakes look from one another and use a different baker. There are plenty of bakeries in the hudson valley and Albany area that specialize in wedding cakes. Please don't make the same mistake I did. His pastries may be delicious but he cannot bake a cake. I've already been told by several people that the cake didn't taste good but the pastries were great. I would have rather had a great wedding cake. read more

This place is legitimately amazing. The pastries, tarts, cakes and quiche are freshly made and absolutely delicious. We loved the almond croissant, the tomato and caramelized onion quiche and lemon tart, although to be frank everything we didn't try also looked really good as well. We are only staying in Windham for a week and I regret not getting more things from this place when it was open (they are only open from Friday to Sundays). read more

I had seen the picture provided to the bakery of what to prepare and when the cake came out, it was NOTHING like the picture. I feel so bad for the bride and groom. My new friend Chef Antoine is as fine of pastry chef that I have encountered in my time in the kitchen. His passion for his creations is evident in his enthusiasm as he explains them and how he made them. Last weeks tomato concasse and onion confit quiche was unbelievable.
