I told him I was traveling an hour to test drive it and he said come on in. When I got there the bike wasn't there. The person there, Max, told me it was the manager I had spoken to. He couldn't find him. He also didn't appear to try too hard. Max made it clear that he wasn't the source of the problem. He also made it clear he was not going to be the source of a solution. Max's only concern was that the issue didn't affect him. When I made my displeasure known, Max told me to leave. The only help he was willing to provide was to help me out the door. Worst. Customer. Service. Ever. Carytown Bicycle fails to realize three important elements of business: 1. Business goes where it is welcomed. 2. People spend money where they feel appreciated. 3. In business, everyday is election day and people vote with their wallets. I would not spend a nickel of my hard-earned money in this arctic blast of incompetence and unconcerned indifference. We found Riverside Cycling on Google, and were able to bring our bikes in. Max diagnosed our issues (rear cassettes and worn out chains) and repaired them both quickly and perfectly. I went in to see about buying new rims for Rockhopper because I hate Presta valves. The salesman…read moresaid it made more sense to modify the rim, it's cost prohibitive to buy new rims for that purpose. He told me they do that there. I brought the bike back, it was a different guy, he said he would look into it. I said only change the presta tubes if the mod can't be done . I came back and there were presta tubes on it. I asked why they didn't do the conversion, the same guy told me "I told you we don't do that service." I said no, you did not. You said you had to ask about it. It was clear he did not. He dismissed that. I would have taken it somewhere else. Their loss though, I was thinking of selling the Rockhopper and getting a comfort bike, which will not be at Agee's now. I had to get an Uber ride into Carytown from 8 miles out on the trail but Joel assured me they could take it in on Sunday. He said 'we are a full service' bike repair shop and we're open today so bring it in and we'll take a look at it. Upon arrival, I got a professional greeting and Joel gave me a realistic estimate of the cost and the time line for repairs. You got to like that level of service. Like most other shops in Carytown, you will be challenged to find parking. They have no dedicated lot so you'll walk 2 to 3 blocks to find street parking.

Especially Kenny, he had a lot of patience for all our questions and made sure we were comfortable with how the bikes operated so we'd be safe on the trail. We had a blast riding the electric bikes and went further in the time frame than we would have on our regular bike. Oh, fun fact, the owner is from Sweden and Kul means fun in Swedish!
