Casa Agria Specialty Ales is an awesome spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a beer (or two). The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and it's a great place to catch a live local band while you sip on some really well-crafted ales. They don't offer food themselves, but that's honestly not a downside because the food truck Doober Eats is usually there--and it's excellent. Great beer, great music, great food truck combo. Casa Agria makes some solid beers in Ventura County. I've enjoyed their IPAs and stouts in particular. The brewery has an old school brewery vibe with barrels and brewing equipment for decor. There's a bar area near the taps and additional seating throughout the brewing. They also had live music when I was there on a Saturday evening. Stopped on my drive back from OC to SLO. Have had Casa Agria's beers in SLO county at a few establishments and always been very pleased with what I've had - mainly Hazy + West Coast IPA's. I think I have a new favorite brewery from Ventura County after dropping in and trying a beer on draft here. I had the Vein of Stars Hazy IPA on draft and it drank so smoothly I took a 4 pack of cans back home with me. The brewery itself in Oxnard had a super clean vibe/atmosphere, ample seating/space, super easy parking, had friendly service, and the beer was fantastic. 5 stars in my book overall and a gem for 805 county beer lovers. Can't wait to have more of their beers that get sourced up to SLO county and to make this a common pit stop to and/from SoCal on road trips. They've got a great operation here in Oxnard! read more

We just made a random stop here as we were thirsty as we spent the day at the farms! Located in an industrial strip mall on the end! Location has both indoor and outdoor spaces! Limited packages food can be purchased: such as chips and package cheese! Location also has food trucks some days! Brewery has quite a number of beers on tap! For those who don't drink beers there is a seltzer. The day we went it was super green and was very sweet! As too sweet for me I grabbed an apricot sour: pretty good at 8 percent. A half point was enough for me! I'm not a beer drinker. Spouse enjoyed an IPA. Pints are 9 dollars. A little high for a pint but there are not a lot of breweries in town! Plenty of parking outside! I would say Casa is our favorite place to go for a good hazy IPA in Ventura county. Their stuff really just hits the spot, is so refreshing, and the perfect balance of hops. Usually come here with the buds after work for some hangs. Came here for date night, an hour before closing on a Friday. It was fairly mellow, small groups inside and a few people at the bar. Literally 30 minutes before closing, chairs were being stacked up, slamming stools, stools banging together by two of the closers. I thought it was just me but everyone were giving eyes to each other, and someone loudly said "how rude...". Yes I agree. I get preclosing, but we got the hint to hurry up and get out because literally you close in 30minutes. I'd hate to give 2 stars, so I give you 3. This beer was indeed a boozy one. Tropical and sweet in flavor, smooth and clean as you partake this 10% ABV IPA. It was enjoyable to be sure but as I often struggle with IPA's I had trouble finding a distinguishing signature to the beer that is exclusive to the IPA itself. For example when I think of "Rosemary IPA" I know precisely which brewery I got that from. read more

Casa Agria is located in Oxnard, about 1 hour north of Los Angeles...and so worth the drive!! Casa Agria has an outstanding selection of beers - the full range from flavorful lagers to West Coast IPA's to Saisons. It was an incredible experience to taste the range of beers. I'm a sake lover, so the new Japanese rice lager ("La Locura") was fantastic! My favorites were the Victorietta and the Full Blaze West Coast IPAs. Truthfully, I enjoyed them all. Owner, Mike, who was pouring at the bar, was so knowledgeable and friendly. He joyfully answered my million questions about the brewing and artistic process (Thank you!!). However since opening another location in Santa Barbara, they are neglecting the Oxnard location by not stocking kegs or new beer. They used to have rotating kegs often with new beer releases all the time but, went in the other day and for the first time noticed several beers are canned pours now. Bathroom smells like pee, and there is piss all over the floor. So gross. It's only 5 pm on a Friday. Clean the bathroom and the toilets for your customers. That's their tip. Fresh new beer made, keg tapped. They have another fresh keg of Space Craze but not putting it on til' Sunday or next week and doing a weak can pour. Not smart. This turned out to be a nice little brewery to try on our first work-happy hour excursion in over a year. The location is a little out of the way in the industrial area of Oxnard but, the inside tables and décor is setup in a cool and relaxing way that you overlook the fact that this place is in the middle of factories and away from everything else you might be used to. Location aside, the beers, sours and other specialty drinks turned out to be pretty great. It was a comfortable atmosphere for our happy hour get-together and the arcades were a nice bonus to have during the time we were there. I think the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because of the food truck they had. It was not terrible but, it was definitely not great. Again, this is not really their fault and maybe next time they'll invite someone better. Another weird thing (that was totally our fault) was that we went on a night where they had open mic for a poetry slam contest?! That was definitely a first for me and it kind of made it awkward to be there once it started so we cut our losses and left to another bar. Casa Agria is a cool little brewery in Oxnard that specializes in different styles of Sour Beers. They didn't have any flight options so I couldn't try a different variety like I usually do when I first visit a brewery, but from the two drinks I got the try I was really impressed. The tasting room isn't the biggest but the seating set up makes up for it. You can bring in outside food, there are a few TVs, some board games, beer books, & cool old school video game are on the wall. This spot is a cool brewery to come to if you on a date with someone that might not be into the normal styles of beer. The beer I had (I believe it was one of the Wedding beers) had a refreshing Wine taste/finish to it. Every time I visit, I have a negative experience, and usually it's when I am checking out and want to take beer home. I usually take anywhere from 4-8 packs of beer home and yet somehow always leaving feeling like my business was not appreciated! We came here a couple of weeks after they reopened after the coronavirus closures. I liked my Casa Nueva Saison a lot and hubby's Fresh Jets was super. They encourage mask wearing and customers are spread out inside and outside. Pick up beer is also available. Due to government rules you need to purchase a $5 food voucher that can be used towards menu items at the food truck outside. We got spicy fries - yum! Nice people and easy parking. read more

Awesome beer from a tiny spot in Oxnard. I've ran into their beer on two occasions recently. First, right before the quarantine my friends and I went to Oxnard from LA for a weekender. Turns out there aren't too many options for craft beer up there but fortunately we were able to make a pitstop here to grab a few crowlers and for packs, loved them all! The people were great, designs were nice and most importantly the hazy IPAs were kickin right. Seems like this spot would get busy during normal hours, can't wait to stop by again in the future. Second, now that I'm back up in the bay area, my buddy had asked me if I wanted to order some beer online since he was buying for himself. I didn't realize it at the time but after I checked this into untapped I realized I just went here not too long ago. Pretty awesome that they ship beer all throughout California and even much faster than most of the items I've ordered through Amazon recently. Again awesome triple hazy IPA which got me buzzed quick.
