Though this is advertised as a Peruvian and Mexican spot, I find the menu options lean a little more Mexican, though don't sleep on the Lomo Saltado. Overall, I enjoyed this spot. The only reason why it gets 4 stars from me is when I got the bill I saw this addition weird fee that wasn't tax or their added gratuity fee. For the price, we weren't expecting large servings of the sides, but they did not skimp on serving sizes. The meal was delicious, and substantial enough to serve three people. We couldn't finish it, and it was a shame that we didn't have a fridge in our hotel because I would have loved to take home the leftover avocado salad. Best Peruvian food I had in a long time! The causa acevichada is absolutely delicious! Their ceviches are fresh and very tasty! I decided to make an update for Andrea's Chicken after my bf and I tried it again. This time, we sat inside and it wasn't really crowded. I remember when I came the last time, my bf got the salmon al cuzco and it was so good that I decided to get it this time. He got the Jalea for 1. That was really good too--and since he didn't like the fried yucca (craziness), I took it! For our drinks, I got the Andrea's Lemonade (really good) and my bf got the piña colada. Something is very very wrong with the food. Ordered a few things off the menu, and the first thing I noticed was that everything was very bland and lacking in flavor. Okay whatever not a big deal I just added some salt and pepper and tried to make the best out of it. Then towards the end of my meal, I suddenly got extremely nauseated and ran to the bathroom to throw up. This has never happened to me before. Except for one thing that I sent back that was a little stale, everything else seemed fresh so I'm not sure why this happened. No, I'm not pregnant. Obviously I could not touch the food afterwards. Like I said, this has never happened to me before so I thought it was extremely strange. Other than that, the waitress was really nice and I felt bad and I didn't say anything because I didn't know what to say. I've had Peruvian food before at Pio Pio and it was absolutely delicious. This food just had no flavor whatsoever. I couldn't even pinpoint what was wrong with it or why I got sick so quickly from eating it. Afterwards I panicked and I had to go to a bar down the street and just do a shot of vodka to kill whatever bug was in my stomach. Surprisingly, we were the only party there on Saturday at 4PM for the entirety of our dining period! I had a seafood dish that was absolutely delicious. There was garlic and wine sauce reduction in it with mussels and shrimp. The rotisserie chicken seems to be popular amongst guests, but it wasn't anything to write home about. First of all the food arrived 40 after we ordered, we ate lomo saltado and roasted chicken, a beer and a cocktail, we paid $110 the charged by default the 18% tips plus an addition fee for paying with debit card, we asked the server Melany which was the only good thing about this place she was nice and attentive, she said that that's the way the restaurant operates and I understand is not her fault. The tomatoes were actually really tasty too. Steak wasn't bad but the sauce made the dish yummy. The jalea (fried calamari, fish, mussels and yuca) was good but it was very dry since everything is fried. Definitely need a sauce. Get the homemade hot sauce! Good portions for prices.
