Casa Borinqueña in Philly is that spot! The second you walk in, the culture, artwork, and energy hit you it legit feels like stepping right into Puerto Rico. I tried the loaded tostones with the mojo mushroom "pork," the BBQ pincho, and a pastelillo, and every single thing was NEXT-LEVEL. The flavors were crazy good, super fresh, and perfectly seasoned. Their vegan options? Shockingly delicious they really understood the assignment. Customer service was top tier. We met the owner and he was incredibly warm, welcoming, and full of good vibes. You can feel the love in the food AND the space. Plus: they're wheelchair accessible and kid friendly, which I loved the space is open, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming for everyone. If you're in Philly and haven't pulled up to Casa Borinqueña yet, you're sleeping! This spot is a MUST-VISIT. I'm already planning my next round!

Ordered delivery (via UberEats) on a Friday night - I'm always worried with UberEats because restaurants often get the order wrong / it takes forever, but Casa Borinquena was cooked & delivered on time with a perfect order. We tried BBQ chicken skewers, pastelillos (fried vegan beef-stuffed turnovers), relleno de papa (fried potato ball with vegan beef center), alcapurria (crispy long fried fritter stuffed with vegan chicken), and arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas). Everything was delicious! The fake meat was chewy and tasty and satisfying. Would order again, especially the pastelillos.

Best bbq vegan chicken I've ever tasted hands down! The crispiness and flavor packed into those skewers were unbelievable I checked to make sure it wasn't real chicken every time I took a bite because I couldn't believe it wasn't chicken haha. Even the dag on olives in the rice was good LOL I'm ordering this again for lunch today--Can't wait! 10/10

I was so excited to try Puerto Rican food for the first time! I highly recommend trying the Pincho BBQ "chicken" sampler platter if you can. It comes with a really nice assortment of yummy food - yellow rice, salad greens, perfectly fried plantains, and some really excellent vegan chicken on two skewers. It's a super cute place - so bright and cheerful and fairly easy to get to. We found parking easily and it's also a quick walk to the El. The owner was really nice and the food came out really quickly even though there were a ton of people there that day.

I will start by saying I'm not vegan and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't even miss the meat. The flavor is authentic, the portions and prices are reasonable, the vibe is inviting, colorful, cultural, and clean. We met the owner and the staff, they were super friendly. They're still trying out new things (hours & menu items), I would 10/10 recommend for a casual bite or quick breakfast. We had the sampler menu, with papas rellenas, and coquito tres leches cake, with sodas on the side. I definitely see it becoming a staple in this area.

The food here is amazing. We were greeted by 1 of the owners Kane. The place is such a homage to Puerto Rico. From the Decor to the food everything was perfect! If your a vegan looking for a place to eat some authentic Spanish food this place is a must! The food is fresh and delicious!! I give it 10 stars

Service and food were great. Staff were nice and everything was fresh and delicious. Inside was chill with lots of culture and good music. Prices were good too.

The potato salad was smooth with some chunks of potatoes and a light crunch from the veggies. My favorite was the beans that pair perfectly with the rice and meat! All this for only $12!!! Wow! I highly recommend it. I also tried their beef empanadas. They were excellent. They're fried to order and homemade. There's a lot of filling and the beef inside is perfectly seasoned. The last time I had empanadas this good was at my Puerto Rican friend's house where his grandma made them! A close second was in Rincon, Puerto Rico. These are that good. They're a must try. This a lovely local neighborhood corner takeout restaurant. You can call ahead to order your food to avoid the the wait. The owner and staff are all very friendly and happy to answer any questions and provide recommendations. They have a tv in the waiting area and some drinks for sale. Inside is very clean and everything looks new and well organized. The food all homemade and delicious. Portions are very generous and a great value for what the charge. I'm looking forward to trying more of their food. I highly recommend it! It's definitely worth a trip to check it out. Support your local restaurants.

Nice and meaty, very tender and flavorful. I'd give them 9/10. Cabbage was seasoned well. They get 8/10. Candied yams were delicious. Would definitely get them again! They get 10/10. Needless to say, I enjoyed my meal. I had enough for another meal the next day. The second time I ordered the Fried Chicken platter with candied yams, Mac and cheese and a side of collared greens. The fried chicken was just ok. It tasted like it wasn't freshly made and not seasoned. Maybe sitting around for a few hours. The chicken gets 6/10. The Collared greens were surprisingly good, with a mild taste of vinegar to give it a little kick. They were well seasoned and tender. The collars get 9/10. The Mac and cheese was just ok (if u don't know what good mac and cheese taste like.) The mac and cheese gets a 5/10. A little dry and not cheesey at all. Needless to say the yams were yamming again. Always my favorite, they get a 10! The delivery was fast and the food came hot and wrapped well to avoid spillage. The prices for a platter, range about $14-25 dollars with 2 sides. Any additional sides are $5. No real complaints. I love that they are pretty generous with the portions they give you. I would definitely order from Top Notch again. Probably try something different to go with my candied yams :)
