Title: A Bittersweet Goodbye to Casa Ciento As I prepare to leave Casa Ciento this month, I can't help but feel a deep sense of sadness. This complex has been a true haven for me, characterized by its cleanliness and the unwavering support from the staff. One of the few drawbacks for me was the absence of a washing machine and dryer within the apartment. If that had been available, I truly believe I would have never considered leaving this wonderful place. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible complex manager, Mrs. Maria. Pros: Nice location: Next to various shopping and grocery stores including Walmart, Sprouts, Trader Joe's, Chipotle, and a few other restaurants and stores. There is an Arco gas station very near which is convenient. Additionally, there is a car shop called Brad's Valero which is walking distance and very reputable. There are plenty of extra parking spaces for guests. In the year i lived in the complex, the parking lot was never fully occupied. Cons: When i moved in a year ago (2018) they claimed they were getting debit card dryer/washer machines. The current system a person had to pay $10 for a card - and the machine to load money only accepted $10 or $20 bills. I can attest to multiple occasions where the machine to load money was broken (days at a time) and i was not able to do laundry. The apartment complex did not install the debit card dryer/washers until i moved out in mid March 2019 1 year later. Casa Ciento is directly next to a "run down" apartment complex. The apartment complex is very unkept. I was driving home on one occasion and waiting for the gate to open when i witnessed a fist fight break out between 2 grown men and what appeared to be a woman carrying a small child. An anecdote, but something to be mindful of. I requested a parking pass for my girlfriend's car when i first moved in. I had to remind the managers on multiple occasions to submit the request. I didn't receive the parking pass until weeks after i moved in. It seemed as though no urgency was placed on requests. *I am rating the complex a 1 star for the following reasons: Casa Ciento has multiple lawsuits/small claims against them regarding deposits over the last 2 decades specifically in 2001 and 2016. Arnel properties was sued by the Orange County Attorney General for $1.5 million dollars, alleging that Arnel illegally withheld apartment security deposits (please see attached photo). I moved out in mid March, having given my notice the end of February to a manager filling in, while the regular manager was out of the office. I understood and accepted i would be paying the entire month of rent for March having given the notice at the end of February (I had to relocate for another job quickly with short notice across the US). I even returned the following day (still in February) for a second manager filling in to let them know of the notice of move out. They claim i gave my notice beginning of March. I paid the entire March rent in full (moved out mid March) and they additionally took out $236 of the deposit for 4 days in April, and they claimed i didn't give the notice until March 4th. The written notice was signed on Monday, March 4 ONLY because the main manager had returned in the office and was able to provide me with the proper paperwork. The prior managers filling in temporarily at the end of February, were unfamiliar with the move out process and would not provide me with the proper paperwork to sign- stating I had to wait until the main manager returned. Based on on the above statements i cannot recommend anyone renting off this property. Please see attached photo regarding lawsuits and small claims from Attorney General. Anyone considering renting from Casa Ciento or any apartment complex under Arnel properties should be made aware. *Update: After further reviewing my case, Arnel properties said they would be reimbursing me the $236 dollars. Also, $165 dollars was taken out of my deposit as they mentioned there was small knive marks in the counter top. I own 3 different size cutting boards i use to cook. Those markings were from the previous owner and not me. The original photos i took are misplaced and unfortunately, it is there word against mine - shameful as i left the apartement in pristine condition. I live in Florida now and a ticket to LA to file a small claims in court would be more expensive then what i would get in court. read more

This complex is absolute trash. The 12+ managers in the office do not reply to you for maintenance calls. They will charge you for it all when you move out instead of fixing it. The sliding glass doors are installed backwards as are all the windows. This makes them easy to break into. The management has no intention of fixing this issue for its residents. This complex is unsafe and overpriced. Basically all the Arnel owned properties are this way. Mold! Popcorn ceilings! Homeless camps! Water leaks! Zero parking! Cock roaches! I can't even remember what I wrote three years ago, but the place was a dump. We didn't even have a refrigerator or a door to our bedroom. The staff changed every few days. I gave written notice that I was moving out in thirty days then asked that same manager if I could extend thirty days. He said fine. The week before I was moving somehow it came to my attention that they wouldn't honor my thirty days because it was verbal and I had to put it in writing again. By this point I had paid my first month and security at my new place and of course Casa Ciento kept most of our security deposit for no real reason. Other than that, it was a nice location if you didn't mind having sections of the grounds taped off during police investigations and the occassional breaks ins and car thefts. It was walking distance from Walmart and Sprouts if that matters. Oh and we had an infant at the time. My parents cosigned our lease and Casa Ciento did not care. Adam S. makes some good points. And it turned out we had to pay for another month of rent at this place while we have rented the other place. So we paid $5000 for both. Just moved out last Weekend. Ive lived in 8 apartments in the past and Casa Ciento was my favorite. The place is super clean, structurally sound, and great landscape. The best thing this property has is Ariel the maintenance manager whose been there for 18 years. He lives on property and it's obvious he loves what he does, always prompt and detailed. Had it not been for the increasing prices every year we would have stayed. Very chill community, a lot of working class people with small families. Very serene property. Parking could be a little bit better, available spots fill up by 9pm. 3 min walk to newly renovated mall and shopping centers, most convenient place I've lived. Walls and floors are really quiet, I was on 2nd floor and our downstairs neighbors never complained. Pool is well maintained, non chlorine, nice hot tub, courteous residents. Great location and friendly staff! My work requires me to travel all over Orange County and Riverside so Casa Ciento has been a great spot for me to live. Near 3 or 4 major freeways. The Village shopping center is close by along with other fast food restaurants within walking distance which has helped satisfy my frequent In-N-Out cravings. The staff at Casa Ciento has also provided great customer service. Bradey was very helpful when touring me around the property and found me a great 2 bed 1 bath with new carpet. She was very professional and knows her stuff. The maintenence team was also very speedy in getting to a few of the fixes I needed. Yes the property is next to a car dealership but I have been very satisfied with my experience so far. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE. This morning at 6am i came out to one of our cars towed. We have the proper placard hanging on our mirror with valid dates and it was STILL towed due to another managers negligence. When i brought it to Ariel's attention, the property "manager" showed nothing but complete disinterest and ignorance and had no desire to help resolve the situation. She showed no empathy and did not even try to understand where i was coming from and my reason for being so upset. I asked for the supervisors name so i could discuss how to get my car out and she refused to disclose that information. I asked for any number or person that i could speak to regarding this situation and she finally gave me corporates number. Which then brought me to Madeline, she was extremely apologetic on behalf of Ariel's carelessness and on behalf of the property's mistake. She did explain that she would be working to get me reimbursed and the parking permit issue resolved. I am very grateful that Madeline took the time to understand my concerns and simply treated me like a human being unlike her associate. It's really unfortunate because up until today we really enjoy renting here, now after seeing how this complex handles mistakes when they are the one at fault is completely baffling. My experience with Ariel really soured my feelings toward casa Ciento, i am a paying resident here at this complex and i do not pay to deal with ignorance or attitude when you're the one at fault. 318$ later, our car is out and a day of work wasted, I'm truly disappointed in the way things are ran here. Casa Ciento has a contract with a company called West Coast Metropolitan patrol. This company comes in and finds reasons to tow resident's vehicles. Mine was towed right from my carport at 1 am in the morning! Needless to say, I was in a frenzy in the morning when i needed to take my daughter to school and get myself to work. When I had to take time off work to pay $250 dollars to get my car back, there were other residents there that had their cars towed as well for stupid reasons! I guess West CoastMetropolitan was on a major sweep patrol! WAY TO GO CASA CIENTO! GREAT WAY TO TREAT YOUR RESIDENTS! Seriously Arnel you Punish your residents by towing their cars - the instrument they use to get to work so they can earn their living and pay the outrageous rents to casa ciento that continues to increase. They even make you pay for water and trash service, I have never heard of an apartment community charging for this before except here. Is it any wonder casa ciento has such low ratings and stars and bad reviews on this site along with other sites. I have lived here since 2009 and am losing respect for this greedy company. The owner of Arnel ( George Arogos) net profits for 2013 was 300 million! See Orange County Business Journal for reference. That is NET PROFIT!! and i believe he is the 6th richest entity in the Orange County area. I can guarantee they are profiting off this towing scam and I'd bet that rent rates for long term loyal residents will increase again when leases are renewed! However they give newbies a special rate to suck them in. Over the yrs I have seen such a high turnover of residents... I wonder why? Could it be greed? Even the managers turn over quickly, (every three months or so) they start here and I guess once they have filled enough vacancies due to previous un happy tenants and screwed enough current residents they get promoted to a larger Arnel property. This creates such a nice sense of community (I am being sarcastic here). Thoroughly disgusted with Arnel policy and procedures. As a follow up, since I was a victim of this west coast metropolitan, a few weeks after my incident, I was walking home from the store and saw one of their vehicles out there with flashing lights, I looked around and saw the dude going around and writing license plates down. I stood by his car waiting for him to return and asked him... What are you doing? He said some kind of bullshit, jumped in his car and drove away. I think he was upset I called him out. About 2 weeks later I had some neighbors on my balcony. We were talking and some low level music was playing, it was a weekend. I get this knock at my door and sure enough it was this same guy. He was very authoritative saying you need to take it inside now. I asked how he had the jurisdiction to tell me that and he was very bullish and threatening, this guy is not even certified to be a lawful armed guard. I was appalled but complied. I know he was just mad because I called him out earlier for trying to tow more freakin vehicles! I called West Coast Metropolitan and first got the run around, but eventually spoke to a guy that said their guards have no right to police or bother me in my own home, period! Just FYI... They did increase rent for me, and I am sure they will again soon, because they care about their long term residents... Right? This paragraph here is 11 months after the debacle of the towing. And they screwed up by not giving me a lease renewal, and tried to charge me an extra 900 dollars because they did not do their job. I was on the east coast for holidays and they were giving me notices to pay or quit when I paid my rent on time. Because they did not do their job I was being punished. I called them from the east coast during my holiday visit to ask wtf? I would think I would have everything straitened out and boom a few weeks later there would be a notice on my door saying I owed them money. To make a very long story short, I had to battle them constantly regarding this for almost 7 months. Finally a gentlemen in corporate was smart enough and fixed the situation once and for all. I think his name is Karl or Carl... He is to be honored. I also want to note that our property manager, Jordan, who actually became manager in the middle of all this is awesome too, not sure if she is still onsite considering it changes so much. But want to give her kudos. I spoke to this one "B" in accounting before Karl/Carl actually straightened everything out. I think her name is Sharon, she told me that Casa Ciento is not responsible to give lease renewals! Okay...Lol. Also as a side note, right before I was to travel to the east coast, I had 4 loads of laundry stolen from the dryers. I went down to the laundry room and everything was gone! Towels, bedding, clothes everything! Where was West Coast Metropolitan then? Thank God, and I am grateful that Casa Ciento requires renters insurance. OMG!! Where do I begin? For one is I wish we could give them 0 stars. There is nothing good to say about this place and management of Arnel. 1. When I signed the lease that day they had said that the copy machine was out and that they will get that fixed ASAP and have a copy of my lease ready for me on Saturday for me to pick up if not they can drop it off. hmmm Saturday comes and nope they never did showed up. I then went on Sunday and asked for it she said ok sure I'll make the copy now and you can pick it up later. I said umm no it's okay I can wait. She said the toner is out. hmm really? Then trhere was OMG where is your file? Lisa must've misplaced it. I'll make a copy and drop it off for you as soon as I find it. I asked a few times after and just totally forgot after that. 2. I know for sure that I moved in on May the 17th 2010 It was the last day of my husband's finals and my mom's bday . I paid $1,190 for just the 2 weeks. Then on May 1st we had to pay another $1,190. I asked Lisa the former manager why I had to pay full amount because the other lady told me she was gonna calculate the total cost on that day for the 2 weeks. Lisa's respond was "Oh it was because of your credit but no worries it will add up to the lease so you wouldn't have to pay for the last 2 wks of your lease. I said ok thats fine. Now I have a month and a half more to go on my contract and I went pay for my April rent thinking this will be the last month paying and came to my surprise that they asked for $1,340. I asked why and they explained that it is for the may few days I have in May. I explained to the new manager and she said no you moved in on the 7th of May and paid $1,072. I said no I moved in on May 17th and I paid full and explained the conversation I had with Lisa. She then pulled my lease out and showed me some papers with my signatures on it and me dating it. SO I automatically was surprised and caught off guard. So I apologized. Just now that I realized that those were the papers I turned in prior to me signing the final lease. I had done everything 2 wks prior to my moving date. So they probably had already tossed all of my files that I signed on the 17th and kept the 7th papers because my aunt also signed middle of the week. 3. The apartments is trash. The doors doesn't close all the way and bugs can come in. I had asked them to fix it repeatedly and each time they did a terrrible job. I was living with a lizard, tons and tons of earwicks, spiders, big and small lizards in my patio. I asked for them to spray the patio and they did but they also said that the guy will come every 2 wks and they never did. They came once and played around in the backyard and they called it spraying. Whatever they sprayed didn't work cause the bugs was still there. They also said that they will get the I forgot who they have a nickname for him to come and get the lizards out but never did. I just seriously stopped trying dealt with it on my own. 4. My car was getting broken into like no other here. SO much that my car windows won't even roll down anymore because it's tilted down. This place is TRASH!! I am seriously thinking of getting a lawyer and busting all the Arnel's apartments I wonder how many scams they're doing. If anybody else experienced the same scfam they pullled on me please post on here. 5. They have Grace days. You have to pay your rent on the first or your rent will go up $200. Not even a day late. They lie about their sq footage. I recently visited their sister apartments called The Homestead and they have got to shitting me. I went to another apt prior to the homestead and theyir sq footage was 890 and 920 and the homestead apartment and casa ciento claimed their 2 bedrooms apt are 1000+ sq feet. Are they serious? Who are they fooling? really? ARNEL PROPERTIES ARE OVERPRICED AND THEY HAVE TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT. THE MANAGERS ARE ALWAYS CHANGING I WONDER IF THAT PART OF THE SCAM. read more

I have lived at Casa Ciento for a year and I would not recommend this community. There is a car dealership directly behind the complex and you can hear the sales staff being paged over the loudspeaker at ALL hours. You can also hear the delivery trucks from VONS early in the morning. At first glance, the apartments appears to be in good condition but after careful inspection you can see that the paint is very low quality (my doors had hair and dirt- which had been painted over) the screen doors are bent, and the carpet is very old. Trying to get a repair done in a timely manner is very difficult . The maintenance staff usually needs more than one visit to complete a simple repair. The laundry room regularly has one to two machines that do not work properly. If you happen to put your money in one of them you will not get it back. Casa Ciento makes it a requirement that you take renter's insurance in case the apartment gets damaged or in the case your property gets stolen. Interestingly enough, after having lived there for three months, I had my car broken into when one of the gates to complex was left unrepaired and open overnight. The police stated that the car had been jimmied. Both my ipod and gps were gone. When I reported this to management they stated that it was not their responsibility and that someone would eventually fix the main gate. They suggested I report it to my required renter's insurace to see if they would cover the losses. The staff is very eager to lock you into a lease renewal after your lease expires. Needless to say, as soon as mine expired I gave them notice. For what they charge, you can live in a much safer and well-maintained community. read more

Initial Review: (hopefully I remember to edit this later on) New management in place, Lana, with a cool south African accent. She is very sweet and tries to create relationships with her tenants but also appears to be semi-new to a management role. She has GREAT customer service. The apartment complex: clean and well-kept, but EXTREMELY overpriced. I pay $1420 for a 1 bedroom not including any utilities (they have a Chapman 5% discount or $200 off for 6 months. If you're only staying ONE year, the $200 off saves you more). I watch the electricity and water I use cautiously but still usually have expensive bills (rumors before claimed we're responsible for landscape watering? hmm maybe). Units offer an AC and dishwasher as a few more luxurious amenities, but they cant even provide a fridge! Renters insurance also required. Kids CONSTANTLY marco-polo-ing at the pool, screaming, and running a muck--probably the result of summer, but still a few guidelines would be nice. All units have a balcony or yard, but some waaaaaay bigger than others. Conveniently located next to The Village at Orange and almost any fast food or convenience store you could need--walking distance. Plenty of parking guaranteed one space and still extras constantly available. You CAN hear the Ford Dealership directly behind the complex so i HIGHLY recommend getting an apartment closest to Bourbon St, not the opposite side. I am next to the pool and can hear the loudspeaker well, but its not unbearable. Overall, decent place, but if you have the time and patience to search elsewhere you can find a much better "bang for your buck" scenario. read more

DONT RENT HERE! Was excited about becoming a future tenant. At first BRENDA seemed to be very professional and passionate and true about her Job but after not pursuing a contract and asking for a refund for my deposit I discovered that BRENDA was nothing but the opposite. I called on September 20th To ask for my deposit refund and BRENDA assured me that I would be receiving a check within 3 weeks. I understood they have to go through a process but after 4 weeks and still no check I called and she said she had Done it it was probably just back up by corporate... a week later after the 4th week of waiting I called again and stated I had moved but my mailing address still was the same and I still hadn't received my check.. She used me moving as an excuse for the check delay and also assumes maybe my family members still living at my mailing address probably didn't want to give me my check.. I waited another week(now the 5th week) and I called and spoke to Austin who stated BRENDA was on lunch but would be back within half hour.. I was expecting a call back but never received anything.. I called in and Austin's still stated she wasn't available but gave me a corporate number As is they no longer had anything to do with it.. I Spoke with RITA who's in charge of property management through ARNELL and RITA stayed that the refund had JUST been processed NOVEMBER 5th! HOW obsurd UNPROFFESSIONAL and such a LIAR Brenda is! Couldn't believe that Rita was saying she was never aware of any refund and it would still take another 3 weeks for my check to be available! It's been almost 3 months and BRENDA is avoiding me and still no check! It seems like she is only their to lie to people and just sign contracts.. she genuinely doesn't care or seem to take her job serious... I will never again consider renting at CASA CIENTO! read more

Move in this place about a year ago, the manager at the time her name is Lisa she is one of the only nice manager who worked here.. unfortunately, Arnel Management pissed her off and she left.. since, everyone work here is rude and careless. The apartment unit is poorly designed and very old painted. Pretty much everything is about to fall apart. Call the maintenance guy...his name start with letter "F" he also lives here as well. He is kind of rude and slow. Never finish his job for the first time always have to come back. The sink in the bathroom smell like sewage for the first time when we move in, call "F" and he never did anything to solve the problem. The parking was nice and spacious until all units are rented out and, sometimes took me 30mins to find a freaking parking spot!! And don't let the "seems beautiful" landscape fool you! There are sooooo much freaking trees and plants! Too much that you will hear the freaking lawn mower every freaking morning from 9 to 2pm!!!!!! I meant it's none stop!!! And they are not allow any dogs not even less then 15lbs!!! Only cat! which its pretty stupid! Anyways, good luck if you want to move in here! I am out of here forever will never come back this place or recommended to anyone!!!! read more

My husband and I lived here before we were married. Tonight we were talking about everything that we went through together. A large negative was Casa Ciento. The crime there was terrible. Both cars broken into. A police report for things left by the pool for about 3 hours (that ended up being stolen identity). All of of our wedding gifts being delivered there and missing (but one found in the maintenance shed after a lot of visits to ask questions). It's sad. Our neighbors were still friends with swear something was stolen from a drawer when they were away from the apartment. It's a nice looking small place but not cool. We could even see a shack in our downstairs neighbors apartment where he brought women into. Complained a lot and nothing was done... We weren't allowed to see our spot before we moved in because it was under maintenance. read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a apartment where we felt like home. So we were driving around and we bumped into Casa Ciento. We went to the leasing office and we knew when we met Brenda we found our apartment. She was truly amazing. She explained everything to us which was so nice. Cause Casa Ciento was like our 4 or 5th stop of apartment hunting and by this time I just wanted to give up looking. She was one of the 3 reasons why we rented here. Casa Ciento is a luxury apartment in a great neighborhood. The awesome duo of Jordan Smith (apartment manager) and Ariel (maintenance) make living here a wonderful experience. All work orders are completed within a 24 hour turn around period. Jordan is gay - friendly (I live here with my girlfriend) and personable. It feels like home! You also get two parking spots for a one-bedroom which is rare. The resident population is mostly composed of working adults so we don't have to worry about crazy parties. I would highly recommend it to any of my coworkers and friends! read more

I have been renting for some 30 years and this is by far the worse place i have ever lived. I had pot heads smoking on the porch until all hours of the night and called the police several time just so I could get some sleep. They guy across the way smoked crack on his porch. i told management and they did nothing. The apts while maintained outside with flower and clean walkways, the apts themselves are cracked and painted so many time the cabinets wont close. In my 11 month stay we have several different manager all of which lied about helping me resolve the issue of drugs living around me while the lease agreement states that is terms for eviction. RUN OR YOU LIFE - TELL ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN NOT TO MOVE HERE. read more
