When my husband and I were just getting to know each other as friends; it started with a cigar at Heroes and legacy, 8 years ago. We were loyal to H&L, so we were very sad to see them close their doors for good. Fortunately for us, we came to casa de Montecristo a few times last year before we knew H&L was closing their doors for good 12/31/17. We came in for a smoke after a little shopping 1/1/18 and I got the gold membership as an early Valentine's gift. He loves it! Every time we've been in, everyone has been so helpful and genuinely nice. So I asked about the different levels of membership, which Jacob answered all my questions without being annoyed at me. Lol I thought it was pretty cool that the husband could try out different cigars every month as part of the membership. I'm sure there's extra perks too, but the service is phenomenal and I like the chairs, coffee (Thanks Dan), cigar recommendation (thanks Brad) and ambience. Went in for the first time today. Great looking lounge. Very spacious and love the layout. The humidor was well stocked with lots of depth. Justin was working on the Sunday I went and he was really helpful helping me ID a cigar that was gifted to me a few months back, plus hooked me up with a couple cigars "new to me"! Chill spot, good cigars, plenty of TVs. It's byob and they have wine glasses and drink cups. There are separate Mens and women's bathrooms and they are clean. They're selection might not be as big as Habana House, but all of they're cigars are good quality so you won't get no bad ones here. read more

Casa de Montecristo is in a fantastic area near the Davenport Ranch and Rivercrest neighborhoods in the outskirts of downtown Austin along the Capital of Texas HWY. The lounge is a great size and many comfy chairs to sit in. The many televisions had on sports, news, and movies so there is something for everyone to watch. The owner was very friendly and was puffing on a pipe! The humidor was amazing. Lots of walking room, and a great selection of all the great brands. They have a half dozen large screens. Tip- when it is very cold, wear a winter coat. You will need it. The air exhaust system is so good that it exhausts most of the hot air from the heat. Average winter temperature inside is about 60 degrees. If you are prepared with a warm jacket then you will be comfortable. read more

I've been to casa a few times and my experience was really awesome. Its a nice premium cigar lounge. Tons of seating everywhere. If you feel one parts crowded take a little walk you'll find somewhere nice to hang out. Me and my friends came in and had a cigar with brad and talk for a while, shared some jokes and a quite a few laughs. They have a big range of cigars from light to dark to full bodied. Any question just ask the staff they'll point you into the right direction. First impressions are everything. Walking up, it seems like a very nice establishment. I am greeted upon entering by the man behind the counter and proceed to walk into the humidor. Great size and selection. I have questions about a few of new cigars I have seen, but no one has taken the time to come in and ask me if I had any questions or was looking for something in particular. 10 mins later I make the decision to not give this place my business. As I walk back to the front counter, the guy who was there is outside smoking and comes in to ask, "Are you ready?". I explain that I couldn't be ready when I have questions yet no one has come to assist me. He then tells me with an attitude, "If you had questions, you could have come and asked". I told him that his behavior on behalf of the business was piss poor and that they wouldnt be getting my business, and i walked out. I check out many cigar lounges whenever I can. This rates well across the board. The selection is better than average but not great, 4.5/5. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The environment is clean with several different seating options from couches to leather chairs to comfy seating around a large conference table. The cake topper is the air quality. They do a great job of keeping the smoke out while maintaining a comfortable temperature and humidity which many lounges can struggle with. Had a portion of my buddy's bachelor party here. The staff were very helpful and easy to work with. No charge for reserving one of their lounges, and they provided us with whiskey glasses and ice. We brought our own liquor and had a great time smoking their cigars, of which they have a wide variety. They were more than happy to help with pairing advice as well.
