I popped in for a bottle of wine. I had never been inside before and it was cute! There were several people in and out even in my few minutes there. I'm giving this place 3 stars because they are dog friendly! When I walked in I was greeted by the sweetest, little black poodle. Can't imagine needing to take my doggies to the liquor store but by god if I needed to they allow it and I'm not sure twin or specs does! The store is small but convenient and the prices are fair. Two of the female staff gave me the impression they did not give a damn about my presence but they man at the register was nice enough. I did mention to him I thought they could take a clue from the dog in being more friendly but hey who needs customer service in a down economy? I almost bought a bottle of Skinny Girl Rita mix but purchased 2 waters and left. Next time be a little more courteous, in retail it translates to sales! read more

I was planning a small gathering for friends and was seeking a Tequila so I purchased a high quality tequila at Davenport Wines and Spirits. I really liked the fact they have many types of Tequilas and Vodkas a real gem......not only do they have live music on the weekends and actually have wine tastings from five to eight thirty. I had a wonderful chat with the owner of the Davenport Wine and Spirits who was Ricardo, he is very educated about his wines, cigars and other Tequilas. Very impressed and will come back for cigars and wine tastings what a delightful place but it is located in an upscale neighborhood at Davenport Ranch area and it do feel they are a little expensive for the Tequilas. But if you live in the area you shall see how friendly this place is ............a dog friendly establishment since this area is pretty dog friendly since they have many restaurants and businesses and even Firehouse Animal Hospital. A large variety of anything high quality liquors you will find why you are looking for. Very convenient for all who love to go boating and water sports.............even sells ice! Called in an order from San Francisco to get a nice bottle of 12 year old Macallan Scotch over to my cousin Billy for Christmas. Davenport Wines & Spirits had the bottle I was looking for and said they would personally dropped off the gift boxed Macallan, a tad out of their usual delivery area, but no problem. I had called so many other places that said it wasn't worth their while to deliver out to this house, so I am really grateful for Davenport for pulling through for me during the this holiday season! First, they are very nice and friendly in the store and it is a beatiful space. They have a great variety of wine and spirits but their mark up is crazy. They have many wines and liquors at 100% over Msrp. They have some bourbons and tequila in their display case that are 300-400%+ marked up above msrp. I guess since it is Westlake they think people will pay outrageous prices, and I'm betting some don't realize how bad the price is or that they could pay less at online stores that mark up their prices but not even this high. I refuse to shop at a place that gouges customers because I don't believe they care about customers. I would go elsewhere. read more

I have been coming to this place since I moved to Westlake. They have a great selection of wine and cigars. Plenty of booze as well. The owner Ricardo is a great guy. I used to go past this place all the time and never knew it was there. Then, one day, I decided to go in, and realized they were dog friendly. The dog was sitting by the window on his bed, and I had my pups in the car because they are always with me. Lisa, the cashier, wine expert of some degree (don't know yet of her entire expertise), has got a very nice vibe and the owners are very enthusiastic. This smallish liquor store in Davenport Village is extremely convenient. It's pretty well-stocked -- not Specs, but about the same as the average Twin Liquors. They have a decent selection of wine. The basic liquors are here as well. If you're looking for an uncommon Armagnac, this is not your place, and if it's a new boutique rum or vodka you're after, you've maybe got a 50/50 shot of finding it here. Still, you can't beat the convenience for basic stuff: as people who live nearby know, it's about the only wine and liquor store that qualifies as "nearby". The owners who always seem to be manning the place are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They pay you just as much attention as you want or need. Their dog is usually hanging out at the store too... I mean, how cute is that? (Answer: cute.) Though in 3 years of living out here, I have yet to make it out to one, they have wine tastings every Friday. read more

Super friendly staff and conveniently close to home! If they have enough staff, you can place an order to be delivered and that is a plus!! They also have cigars so you can stop by there and grab a scotch and a couple of cigars easy! A lot of the times I go in they are doing tastings and that as we all know is extremely helpful when picking out a new bottle. Love the location, love the staff....love it! read more

My boyfriend and I luckily found this store heading over to our friend's newly moved in place in Southwest Austin. I was worried I was very limited in options for a (quick, last minute, and end of the day... Yes, I'm one of those people) housewarming gift but at just the right time, we found this quaint liquor store conveniently located in the middle of the lovely (depending on the day/time of the week) hill country of 360. The area is absolutely beautiful which adds to the experience in itself but we had a very positive experience here. It is well organized and easy to navigate. Staff is super friendly and helpful. We were able to get in quickly, find what we needed (gift bag and all), take a complimentary tequila taste (that I could actually stomach without a chaser... #adulting) and leave feeling satisfied and accomplished.
