    My substitute monthly cocktail special
    Terry F.

A decent to good cigar bar with a lot of cigar options. However, they don't always have the supplies to make the cigar and cocktail special that they advertise in their emails--especially near the end of the month. I felt that the cigars were a bit too pricey. The service during the early afternoon n Friday was also fairly slow.

Excellent selections and great drinks.coming from Tampa; this place is legit!! Staff is very professional and accommodating

A friend came into town and we always frequent a new cigar bar and decided to give Casa De Montecristo a try. There is an outdoor patio to just enjoy the weather or watch some sports, inside was a bit smaller than expected and the upstairs was exclusively for members. One of the employees was really friendly and was able to assist us with what we were looking for. Drinks were okay, bartender seems a little inexperience. The atmosphere wasn't as cozy compared to other lounges but we enjoyed ourselves.

The atmosphere was dope, super chill and laid back. Their selection of Cigars is amazing, actually one of the largest I've ever seen.

Great selection of cigars and liquor, at a reasonable price. Staff is great and helpful. Live music in the evening on weekends.

Found this spot to relax after a long day of meetings. I have visited a Casa de Montecristo in Las Vegas and Countryside, IL. Entering the shop, the lounge chairs are situated outside in an in closed patio with flatscreens. Stepping inside there is a full bar to the left and on the right, a multi section humidor, ceiling to floor, filled with premium cigars. It was packed but comfortable. I found a high table, picked my cigar and ordered my drink. The prices were decent, crowd had a good vibe and the staff were cool. The inside was small and no lounge chairs inside but I enjoyed my time and would come back.

A friend and I were looking for a Cigar lounge after brunch and found this place, walkable from our restaurant. Sunday afternoon. Wasn't crowded. There are seating areas outside, and a bar and a few tables inside. Thankfully we found a high top table. The person who was helping us with the cigar, I can't think of his name, but was SUPER friendly and helpful. I don't typically smoke cigars so I told him I was a newbie and he recommended a cigar and the reason why. His name might've started with a K. Whoever, he was on July 16 @ 4pm, he deserves a promotion :p He cut our cigars for us and offered to light them, but my friend had their own cigar equipment :) Bartender was nice and helpful. No food, but full bar with wine & beer. There is also happy hour (see photos). Nice Ventilation system Members only area upstairs Bathroom for women contained one toilet. Large bathroom. Mouthwash also. Street parking but you could probably also find parking garages in the area

Absolutely first rate selection of cigars at incredible prices. This place is staffed with very polite and knowledgeable staff and is comfortable. You can sit at the long bar or a high top table; or you can go the front-facing enclosed patio which has both high and "normal" chairs and tables. This place should not be missed if you want a great place to purchase and smoke cigars.

My last day in DC I decided to stop by this awesome cigar lounge and kick back and relax. I'm from Florida so every place I travel I must visit a cigar lounge and I'm glad I stopped by this one. They have a very nice lounge downtown DC, staff is friendly, and a nice selection of cigars and full bar. I highly recommend this gem.

What the hell happened to the old J&R? The prices seemed lower and the service was much better.

The actual hookah was mid at best for D.C I was expecting a lot better. Then when it came to the bill we were charged $4 for each bottle (of which we were not even told there was a charge at all for water, and no we did not specifically ask for a sealed bottle all we asked for was water the sever never said tap or bottled, she just automatically brought us sealed) when on the menu they were priced at $3.50 sure it's .50 but when there was five that .50 extra could have almost bought another bottle. Also when she brought the bill she did not even show the itemized bill at first all she showed was the tip screen which upon doing the math from what we ordered vs paid we realized the amount was way higher than what we got and so we asked for the copy of the receipt only to find out there was ALREADY a service charge on there of which was NOT a credit card charge because we paid in cash and when asked what the cash total was she told us $60.31 yet the copy showed the cash price was $57.91 also they charge for charcoal, what am i suppose to do bring my own charcoal? i've never had to pay extra for charcoal they just include it with hookah price, absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the vibes in this place is like an absolute funeral, all the pictures made this place look so fun and great, but no it was worse than funeral. I felt even more so like i was at a funeral after I realized how badly my wallet was robbed. I will never come back here.

Happy hour (3-7) offers beers ranging $1-3, wine $4-6, $7 margs, and I think a few other drink specials, but those options were good enough for me and I went with the wine. Service was a little slow at first, but the one bartender working was friendly and cheerful and doing her best to keep up with everyone until another two eventually showed up or came back from break. Atmosphere was really chill. I liked the dim lighting, everyone was casual and relaxed with a dj setting up in the corner, some hip hop and classic 00s rap bumping, and a steady flow of young-ish friend groups coming in for cheap beer around 5pm. I tried not to evesdrop on the couple next to me at the bar arguing, but their fight sort of added to the entertainment and general vibe.
