Was in the Chillicothe area and decided to have something different for lunch when I saw Casa Del Taco. Thinking hey this is got to be better than Taco Bell I stopped l. The line was extremely long at lunch which is probably normal could mean that the food is really good. I had to repeat my order twice for the lady on the microphone to get it correctly. Once I got to the window they had forgotten what my order was ,however not what it cost. So I get my food and start driving down the road back to Columbus. My first taco was mediocrely warm. The second one was Stone Cold. The meat burrito wasn't anything to be excited about. So I call back and I speak to somebody who's the manager or they say they are on the phone, I explained my situation and how the food was not up to what I expected it to be. I paid with a credit card and asked for them to refund the money on my card. My response from them was I need to come back and they would refund it in cash. Seems a little odd to me that though I paid with a credit card though refunded in cash but whatever. However I'm not from the Chillicothe area and I was already on my way back to Columbus with no time to turn around and deal with this. So I called again and I spoke to the manager or owner named Tammy, immediately she goes on the defense saying that I must be the only one that had this problem because she served over two hundred tacos today. I again explained that I am not from Chillicothe and that it would be easier for her just to refund my credit card. Some small talk happened between her and an employee and she again said come and I'll give you cash for what you spend. you can see we're going around and around in circles here and not getting anywhere so after I explained why this iis not convenient for me. She hangs up on me. Naturally I call back and she's now extremely rude with me on the phone I explained to her that I had it recorded that she would refund my money and that I would contact the bank and have them reverse the charges. She then proceeds to use a lot of profanity towards me. Essentially telling me I don't care what the blank you do. I don't blank care. I would highly recommend that nobody eat at the establishment due to poor food quality customer service and cleanliness read more

I give Del Taco four stars because it GREATLY surpasses other chain taco/mexican places out of the water. They are ALWAYS fresh, and flavorful! The staff is always friendly and the service is quick and very affordable. If you are in the Chillicothe area, I urge you to give it a try! I would usually get the chicken quesadilla which would come with a yummy avocado ranch sauce on the side. Just about everything I have tried here has been good! This is a much better choice to go to than a chain. The food here tastes much better and much fresher. I would normally get the grande burrito meal and it was well worth the deal. The cinna-chips are very delightful and addictive. I also liked the salsa being in a pump and not pre-packaged, since it at least tastes better, even if it's not made daily. read more

My favorite fast food restaurant. Since I started eating at Casa years ago, I havent stepped foot in a Taco Bell. The food is good quality and made fresh, even the veggies and meats are freshly chopped and prepared, the cheese is freshly grated and shells are fried up fresh. They even make their own special Avacado Dressing for their taco salads and it is delicious, I have to get a side of it just to dip my food in. Though the prices are a tad high, it is well worth it for the quality. Service is always friendly and accurate. The place could definitely use some remodeling but it is always kept clean. If you are in town you definitely need to visit! read more

I was pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty and quickly served. Two kinds of salsa - mild and hot. A variety of drinks available and ample seating. The place seemed clean and had adequate and friendly staff. I'll go back again. Very cost effective. read more

This has to be the most Anglo Mexican food joint I have ever been in. I live in town am amazed it has survived 25 years. There has never been a sprig of cilantro in this place and you pump their "salsa" out of a ketchup container, it would pass right through a screen door. I've been eating at this restaurant since I was eighteen, and that's 24 yrs, almost as long as it's been in business. It only keeps getting better. Yes, the prices go up, but with the cost of produce and minimum wage going up, they have to raise their prices to pay competitive wages to their employees, to get good help. Otherwise, they would have to compromise the quality of their services and their food. And that is something they just are not willing to do. Everyday, their customers get the freshest and best tasting product at the lowest prices possible, and their portions have never been downsized, nor will they ever be downsized, and the quality has never been compromised to save a buck. I have enjoyed casa del taco for over 20 years. I still love it, their crunchy tacos and burritos are awesome sauce! They were in Chillicothe before taco bell, who decided to camp out across the street. I go to the casa every time I visit Chillicothe, if you haven't tried them, they are a must. read more

The people here are very friendly and they treat you like family. The food is awesome and the place is very clean. I got off in the morning from work and went through the drive thru about 6:30 A.M. The recorded voice over the drive thru said they were closed. I drove up to the window and a lady apologized and gave me a free breakfast. I'm glad my money supported a local business however the food was slightly disappointing. i had their taco lunch special. The taco was good basic taco nothing special or something to write home to mom about. I also ordered the cheese burrito and it was rather tasty. For any of you old timers out there it was very much like the old Zantigo's cheese chilito. It brought back memories of summer nights after the bars closed.... but I digress that's for another story. My dining companion ordered the house burrito and added an enchilada side item. I tasted the enchilada and it was OK you could tell the sauce was not homemade. It did have plenty of beef so wasn't too bad. It did however come in it's own little styrofoam container as did most of their dishes (let's not even try to figure out their carbon footprint but that's another issue again I digress) His burrito was OK good amount of filling although it looked like a lot of the burrito real estate was beans instead of meat. (a cost saving measure I'm sure) It was flavorful though. I did notice that as he was eating it it started to ooze down into itself which after just a few minutes necessitated it be eaten with a fork at that point. I'm sure it ha something to do with the inordinate bean content as beans are not very structurally sound. Overall the dining experience wasn't horrible but the prices made it less appealing. Now I'm not from Chillicothe nor do I live near so probably safe to say that I won't make a special trip to get some of their food. Although the food was just so so it was a rather expensive lunch. For both it was darned near $20 and that puts it into the category of a sit down restaurant price wise. I am not opposed to spending money on my meals but it better be something good for it. So to sum it up next time I'm in Chillicothe I'm not sure I'd come back it is probably better to eat a lunch in another local restaurant or Mexican restaurant for the price or in a pinch make a run for the border. My daughter and I stopped here on our way from Cincinnati to the Hocking Hills. Overall the food was fresh and it mostly reminded me of Taco Bell of 20-30 years ago (note: it is across the street from a Taco Bell and a Chipotle). I ordered a taco and a side tortilla chips and for example, the chips came with a side of cheez wiz in a plastic tub. I ordered a soft taco and was given a hard shell taco instead. The meat tasted just like old school taco bell, which I kind of liked because it was nostalgic. The young lady at the drive thru (the one with glasses that we saw smoking a cigarette a few minutes earlier as she took out the trash) made several mistakes on our order including giving me a hard shell taco vs. soft, and I asked for napkins when I got to the window and I guess she either did not hear me or forgot. My daughter went inside to get napkins a plastic fork and she said everyone inside was nice enough. read more

Visited Casa Del Taco yesterday. The staff were friendly, efficient and fast. Ordered the chicken quesadilla...it was not what I was expecting. The chicken was in a sickly sweet sugary sauce that threw off the taste of the entire meal. It was very off putting. I do not know if this was normal or an error, but definitely not to my liking. On the plus side, the tortilla was crispy and browned, the cheese well melted, and the item was served hot. The extra hot sauce was just that... extra spicy with that lovely lingering burn.
