The dishes are exquisitely put together with fresh ingredients and beautiful presentation. Our party of 4 loved the art and ambiance. The only part that was lacking by the end of them night was the customer service. Our server neglected to offer a dessert menu, and then shortly after providing the menu forgot to ask for our dessert order. This place is BOMB! Best margarita, super smooth and it gets you like in a blink of eye. The Ceviche Trio is also contained 3 different types of fresh mixture of uncooked fishes , such as shrimp , tuna , and salmon. You need to eat this one , perhaps to understand better what is authentic means. The main coarse is a combination of different meats from 2 types of sausages , carne asada, chicken , fresh broils garlic , and veggies. Came here to celebrate my sisters birthday and it was a great choice! every time I have been here, whether I come by myself, sit at the bar, or come with a small group, the service is amazing and the food is delicious. I made the reservation a couple of months in advance, and the reservation process was easy. They said they split checks which is super helpful for groups. The day of our reservation we received a call from Anna and was asked our preference for seating and if we had elderly or babies in our party so that they could properly accommodate us. I love the elevated level of customer service!! We came on a Sunday at 1 PM; they were super busy, and I noticed and appreciated that everyone helped with everything. The hostess helped set up the table for our large group; the bartender stepped in and greeted a customer since the hostess was helping set up the table. This type of teamwork is what make a business successful. Paul, the bartender, was amazing! Jose was our server; he was on top of everything!! Lots of people have money and great ideas, but staffing and customer service is what keeps establishments in business and keeps customers patronizing a business over the other options. Casa del toro you're so good that I came back two weeks in a row. The first visit I sat at the bar with my partner. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. They did a good job on recommending drinks and tequila flight. What we ordered: Fried Calamari: perfectly fried and I love how the have the bits of tentacles. It was so good that we reordered this on our 2nd visit. Paella del toro- it's a deconstructed paella. Meaning rice on the side and a plate of the seafood base. It was tasty and interesting to have the rice on the side. I enjoyed it and at the end I ended up just mixing my rice to soak up the sauce from the seafood. Ancho chili glazed wings: nicely fried and sauced. It had the right amount of heat and the dipping sauce was nicely paired. Ceviche trio: Was yummy and the taro chips went well with the 3 different combos of ceviche. I wished it came with a little bit more chips. I wanted to try something new and came across this restaurant through Yelp. Very nice restaurant with outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating as well. They had a few television screens by the bar so it was nice to catch the football game. Service was great. Immediately greeted and seated. Took us a minute to order because we couldn't decide from the wide selection. Our server recommended the empanadas so we definitely had to try - tasted delicious paired with the chimichurri sauce. We also ordered the ceviche trio which was ok. I think the shrimp ceviche was my favorite out of the 3. The pork belly was very flavorful with the right amount of crispy to it. For extra heat I would bite into the shishito pepper. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and we got a side of cilantro mashed potatoes that kinda tasted like pesto - not bad all. oh man, I am hoping to eat my way through their whole menu! Me and my husband came here about 2 weeks ago for my Birthday. We came unknowingly during brunch and the food was so good!!! I can't remember what my husband had but I had the Casa Del Toro eggs benedict and the papas bravas are so good! I also brought my bosses here last night and they were so impressed by the flavors, the variety of tequilas, beers and wines. The environment can be a little loud but you gotta stop and try them. Our first time here and it did not disappoint! The ambiance is nice, and our waiter was funny and very nice. We started with the toro tartare ($18): 4/5 stars! The meat was good and had a great texture. I just wish it was served with more bread; the meat to bread ratio was a bit off. The ribeye ($62): 5/5, soooo good and perfectly seasoned!! You could truly taste the smokiness of the meat and it was grilled very nicely. It came with a side of yummy arugula salad and we got the mash. It was cilantro mash, and it paired well with the steak. Mind you, the steak came with 2 sauces on the side, both of which we barely used. The steak didn't need it! We cleaned the plate. Braised short ribs ($38): 4/5, my only complaint is wishing the portion of the meat was bigger! Especially considering the price. The potatoes and onions paired very well with the short ribs. The corn added a nice vinegar-y contrast and lightened the heavy meal. It was a very filling meal, and the meat was extremely tender and not too salty like what other reviews claim. Guava crème brûlée: 4/5 - the creme brûlée was cooked very nicely! It wasn't too dense at all. The guava was a bit overwhelming though and masked the taste of the crème brûlée. If you're into guava like that, this is the dessert for you. A great experience, we licked our plates basically clean lol and we will definitely be back. read more

The feast comes with spinach artichoke dip mixed with Dungeness crab cakes, bacon wrapped scallops, garlic roasted prawns, and cheesy baked oysters. My mouth is watering remembering the whole platter in my mouth. Definitely worth ordering for the flavors and the portions. I'm glad it came with sourdough toast to dip in the spinach artichoke dip. I also tried the mezcal glazed king salmon my sister ordered and it was the perfect sauce for the flaky salmon. It didn't taste farm raised at all meaning it must be wild caught. My other sister ordered the filet mignon and she liked that it was medium just like she ordered it. My brother in law opted for the 28 day dry-aged ribeye and he couldn't stop talking about how great it was, which I believe is due to the fact that the beef is corn fed. They also couldn't stop raving about the arugula side salad. It must be the dressing. For the last course I tried the guava crème brûlée and man was it creamy and not overly sweet. It almost tasted like passion fruit. Definitely ordering this again. They also offer Mexican chocolate bread pudding that comes with ice cream and it's also very creamy good. I ordered a Pasion medianoche for my drink of choice. As for my main entree, I got the guanjilo braised short ribs instead of having confit potatoes, I substituted it with cilantro mashed. The drink was fruity and refreshing. The braised short rib was okay. To me, it was lacking flavor. The corn and tomatillo relish was alright. The cilantro mash was missing something. First time coming here. First of all I would like to thank our server for taking our picture as you see here on Yelp. We appreciate it. We've not treated ourselves in awhile so this was our day out after getting our nails done. Menu a bit pricey but food was delicious! I especially loved the Filet Mingon. It was excellent. Table wait service was decent for the most part. The only gripe I had was that it took what we thought a little bit more time than usual to get the drinks we ordered out to us. Also during our visit, although this would not concern us but the management and bar tender I heard 2 glasses break behind the bar which I felt was a little strange or odd to hear. The person who was at the front desk guiding patrons to their seats seemed to have taken notice and was concerned as well. But overall, a solid experience dining here. Well worth the money and the food is delicious. And it's a very happening place with people continuously coming in the door. FYI reservations seem to be optional but it would help to have them. We had dinner here for my mom's birthday. When my mom received her dish, it wasn't what she thought it was going to be, so they asked if we wanted something else, in which we did. They still charged me for the item, due to the fact that we boxed up apart of the dish, as I mentioned before it wasn't entirely what my mom expected, so given it was already in our possession we took what she'd eat. The manager on duty that night approached us and informed us that if we were to take any part of the dish that we would be charged. At that rate I let her know she could take what we boxed up as it wasn't what she really wanted anyways. The manager then proceeds to look at the container and ask us, "where's the clams that were apart of this dish?" It was so embarrassing, and COMPLETELY uncalled for. One of the waiters had already taken the plate that had the clams on it. This overall was such a terrible experience customer service wise, but on top of that, the food quality wasn't worth the 300 dollars we paid that night. They've matured over time in a very good way. They've shifted the menu for less frills, better dishes. This is a steak restaurant so start there, but I also love their lobster bisque. Came here yesterday for a little GNO. Highly recommend for a local date night or dinner with a friend on the weekdays as it's not so busy. Ceviche Trio with Yucca chips for an appetizer to share and it was delightful. Fish was super fresh and gave a little sweet and spicy moment. I really enjoyed the Yucca pairing vs the traditional corn tostada/chip. Lobster Carbonara was so flavorful, not so traditional but with a tomato cream sauce twist. They don't shy away here with the lobster. At some point, I finished everything but the lobster and had extra meat leftover. Braised Short Rib was tender and soft and paired with a cilantro mash and some veggies. Really enjoyed the glazed carrots. Tu Sonrisa and Firing Squad Special was refreshing! Both fruity flavors but different alcohol preferences. I was a bit disappointed that we were not offered a dessert menu but rather our bill instead. Went her for Mother's Day brunch. And the food was super good! It was a set menu for two courses - entree and dessert and reasonably priced. If you wanted a starter and/or drinks it was an additional cost. We ordered the mushrooms empanadas to start and it was amazing. Even my 1.5year old loved it! For our main dish, I ordered the chilaquiles with pork belly. At some places they would just use tortilla chips but at casa del toro they used actual corn tortillas and it was perfection. It had a good crisp to it. The salsa on top was yummy. Had the right amount of heat to it and the pork belly was cooked just right. My husband ordered the carnitas Benedict and the meat was super tender. Really good flavor. He didn't leave anything on his plate lol. I give it 4 stars though because the service was a bit slow despite it not being at its peak rush hour ( we had reservations at 1030a). Our waiter didn't come often and it took some time to place our orders in as well as receiving the check when we were done with plates empty for about 20 min. I would still definitely come back. I did take that into consideration. Food was hot and good. The waiter took another 20-25 minutes to check on us again. We finished a lil before 8PM. Everyone after us was checked on and bill given and left. We were still waiting 25 minutes until we flagged another waiter down to ask for check. We came for Saturday brunch. What I loved most about the interior was the sky high ceilings and plenty of booth style tables. Clean and well lit. The waitress was super friendly. The drink menu is extensive and the brunch menu had plenty to choose from. I went with the waitress suggestion of the shrimp huevos rancheros (I was conflicted between this and the veggie eggs Benedict). The eggs were on the side which was different (The eggs are usually served on top of the tostada) The tostada came with a piled high with , crema,avocado, queso, salsa ranchera. This was a bit different from traditional but was very good. I had been here previously for drinks and was happy I came back. Hayward has very few restaurants I would give 4-5 stars.
