This place is small but had good cheap sandwiches. The churrasco sandwich had some fat in it that made me quickly open the sandwich and dissect it to remove it. They also had smoothies for $3-4 which is always a plus. It was good to see what an authentic Brazilian cafeteria/bakery was like. The food was good. The place is small and could use some cleaning or removing clutter. I went on a Sunday and most seats were taken. Also it seems there was homeless people around. We were prompted by two. I like it..i dont love it..but i do like it. The bananas in my smoothie had clearly gone bad and so it had a funky taste and upset my stomach. My hubby liked his breakfast sandwich and we split a cheese empenada while waiting for our food to be prepared. We got a slice of pinapple upside down cake and it was horribly dry and didn't taste very good. I give it 3 stars for being a mom & pop shop and the breakfast sandwich was thin but good. First off, the coxhina w/cream cheese were delicious!!!! They were flavorful and fresh and really tasty. My husband loved his sandwich. Unfortunately, we agreed that the empanadas were under fulfilling, just blah - the ground beef was under seasoned, dry and boring. The Chicken were a little better, but not a winner. Bummed that they messed up my sandwich, giving us something we hadn't ordered, but we will be back to try their array of desserts and more coxinha. read more

If you are looking for a good Brazilian bakery with great customer service and fair prices, please go elsewhere, this place looks like is run by careless selfish teenagers, there is not common curtesy at all, I guess they think patrons will just take anything they offer, I was asking about a good place to buy some deserts for family members, asked at the supermarket next door and the person there told me the food was good if I didn't mind the attitude, she clearly said, is a hit or miss, I guess we just missed, sorry that never got to try anything in that bakery due to the attitude of the young employees. Finally got to stop in this pleasant bakery today. Seems very authentic with lots of happy workers and fair prices. Their menu was pretty extensive both in juice, smoothies, sandwiches and baked items. I saw someone eating soup but I never found it on the menu. I walked away with a ton of food. Their #2 "special brasil" sandwich was the bomb! For only $6.25 you get chicken, bacon, ham, egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo on french bread. I'd get it again but look forward to trying new things next time. I tried their sugar cane juice because I've never had it before. I knew it would likely be too sweet or not sweet at all and it ended up being waaaay too sweet. I had to dump it but the flavor was good, but pure sugar. Glad I came across this place with the help of yelp, and if I'm in the area again I'll surely stop in. read more

I have always wanted to try this place, but was a bit afraid since I know I don't speak Portuguese. It was nice to read a review that they do speak English in this bakery so I finally went and I was very pleased. Not only do they serve desert , they serve drinks and sandwiches as well. One of the employees noticed I looked lost so he got out behind the counter to explain to me what the desserts were that o was interested in. I took some food to go and I was in HEAVEN eating them. The flan here is not like other flan. I'm pretty sure it's a cheese flan more than a condense milk kind of flan. None the less it tastes amazing! I also got a sweet bread topped with condensed milk and coconut flakes and it is very yummy! I would definitely come back soon! read more

I come here every morning/afternoon and let me start by saying every smoothie on the menu is beyond amazing! There's also tons of small breakfast options and sandwiches I get different combos everyday. The staff is amazing and incredibly helpful. Everyone knows my name and recognizes me so that when I call ahead and come in im greeted by name with a smile and my order is all ready for me. This place was crowded, loud, one of the ladies behind the counter was shouting (and apparently this is her normal tone of voice), and there's no place to move or walk... I almost ran out the door as soon as I stepped in but I'm glad I didn't and here's why... It was already 3pm, I had only had a Tall coffee in the morning, and I was hungry! I had heard and read very good reviews from Casa do Pao, so decided to stop by here on my way home. Thankfully the loud lady was not the one who took my order so that made things better. I ordered a #8 (Bauru Sandwich), which is ham, cheese, bacon (I asked for it without it), egg, lettuce, tomato, on a soft French bread. It took about 5 - 8 minutes for it to come out and it was warm, and delicious. The sandwich was perfect size to satisfy my hunger without making me feel sick or overfull. Since I wanted to try their Coxihna Catupiry (potato ball filled with shredded chicken and cheese) I only had half the sandwich and enjoyed this with it. This potato pocket is soft, warm, and creamy. It's like comfort food... And to end, since most of the things I've heard were about their desserts, I had to try my favorite Brazilian dessert (so far) the Mousse de Maracujá (passion fruit mousse). Passion fruit is one of my favorite fruits and they make this so good. It's creamy, tart, and enough for at least two days. On top of how good their food is, it is cheap. The sandwich was only $4.00, the Coxinha $1.70, and dessert less than $3.00. Plus, they speak Portuguese (of course), Spanish, and English, making it easier for everyone to order, and they explain which ever item you are not familiar with. I was out in less than 15 minutes, with my to-go order, and enjoyed it very much. They have about 10 different sandwiches, countless desserts and cakes (both individual and "party" size), you can place your order for catering or gatherings. Their usual empanadas, pon de queijo (little cheese bread), and other "bite" items. I will definitely be going back, but will remember not to go at "rush hour". I know I'll enjoy it even more when it's less busy and quiet read more

The sandwiches are all so fresh and made to order, the fresh squeezed orange juice is also a must have item. Over all I love this place and eat here all the time. When you suddenly see so many of your Yelp friends check-in and then you can't help but notice the cult following and the glowing review, it's hard not to follow. Like others have stated, the location and external appearance isn't exactly desirable but you can never judge a book by its cover. I've been to many fine bakeries in upscale neighborhoods and came out feeling like I had been taken advantage of. So this hole in the wall is fine where it is. If you're a gringo, have patience and take a few minutes to see their offerings. They do speak English here, well 2 of the employees but have no fear. The staff is very friendly too. I had no clue what to get so I said what any dumb gringo would, "can you suggest some of your finer desserts?" I ordered a few slices of the banana cake and one slice of the flan. In addition, I wanted some hot fresh-out-the-oven french bread. I couldn't believe it but all of this was just $7. I usually drop $5 on a slice of cake and here I had 3 slices and bread so I was pleasantly surprised with the prices. But if we all keep saying how reasonable it is, they will get hip and raise prices. :) The banana cake slices were a nice size. A bit dry, but the flavoring and top that is layered with bananas was real good. I'm thinking I just came a little late and got the remaining pieces. The flan was very creamy, rich and definitely worth ordering again. Next time I go back I'll have to try some of the hot sandwiches. Wow. All I can say is if you haven't tried this place yet, you need to go. My sister and I came because we read about it on Yelp, and the Yelpers didn't fail us: This place is as great as they said it was. We got an empanada, potato bread, and some other bun (all stuffed generously with a delicious chicken mixture). They were all awesome, awesome, awesome! Then for dessert, we got the banana cake (outstanding), a yucca coconut cake (unique and not too sweet), and the chocolate cake (YUM). So we got all that plus two bottled waters. The total? A little over $15. I seriously would've paid that amount just for desserts alone. Plus the staff was very friendly and helpful. We wanted to try more because everything looked so good, but we totally stuffed ourselves so I guess we'll just have to come here again ;) read more

Desert review only, and, apologies, but we spent a month in Portugal last year and I can only remember three words! so, I have no idea what anything was called. The girl at the counter was super friendly, happy to describe any/every desert to us newbies...it all looked good! We tried 4; a caramel cone that was so sweet and thick it hurt, though the cone itself was almost just shy of stale, then a bread with frosting and coconut that was like sweet frosted challa bread (winner, btw, hands down!), then a bread with condensed milk which reminded me of a thick bread pudding, and finally a banana bread that was too bready to be cake and too cakey to be bread, but had nicely sugared sliced banana on top. That last one seemed close too getting stale, too, so I think we missed the timing on a few things, or they were left out too long, but it could also just be the curse of Florida's gross soft water. I love this place!!!!! I am Brazilian so it brings me back home every time!!! I love the passion fruit and cashew juice and of course my favorite Brazilian soda Guarana. I love the coxinhas, kibe and empadas! I always recommend this place to friends. They also make miniature sizes of the pastries and sweets for parties. They charge by the hundred. They also make custom Brazilian birthday cakes. They have a freezer by the cashier with frozen pastries you can buy and finish cooking at home! They also have Brazilian chocolates, candy, Doce de Leite, etc. I love coming here and when I do, I make sure I go on an empty stomach so I can eat all my favorites there! *Also just a note, there is also a Brazilian supermarket and restaurant in the same plaza! read more

I came this place one morning to get breakfast for my boyfriend and I. Never being to Brazilian bakery on my own as I always carry a small Brazilian in my pocket to translate for me. I was hesitant. But nevertheless I wanted some Brazilian goodies. When I first arrived I was greeted by the smell of fresh baked goods. A welcoming surprise. As I do not know Portuguese I was given a paper with what to get. The person that sent me thought it would be a good idea for me to go alone I might add. Once there they call my number in my soft spoken voice in English I said "I don't speak Portuguese here is what I want." The guy took my paper and started adding things into the bag to take. He didnt speak very good English I braved up and wanted an orange juice. I decided to ask but my way of asking was to point at what I thought looked good and ask slowly what it was. I grab my food paid and left. The service was for me a hassle because of the language barrier but aside from that they were very helpful and nice. The place is small but accommodating. I get back with our breakfast and as I am telling my boyfriend what happened he starts bursting out in laughter. I thought ok it's funny I pointed at things. Only for him to tell me after the fact that I had gone through all that. They speak Spanish which I know fluently. lol. The experience was good and the food was so good. Coming from a Brazilian girl raised in NJ, and have grown up with a mom who can cook and bake like the pros. I have a very high standards and found this place to be the Best Brazilian bakery ever!! They all speak english and menus have translations, it's a great find and worth every penny to try something new. Great sandwiches, the best "coxinha"(a ball of dough made with yucca and chicken broth, and filled with shredded chicken, with or with out "catupiry" a plain creamy cheese. Fresh juices, squeezed to order, same with the "pastels" (light flakey fried dough with either meat or chicken filling.) The cakes are very sweet, it's not the best ingredients, totally a brazilian thing and the portions are large. many more things to come, I will review more as I go.
